  1. I don't get this @mtm78 .. Are normal torps being nerfed? I kind of like the idea of deep water torps, even if you have to load them before the start of the game. Unless I've missed something, you've got either normal torps, which works perfectly fine as it is, or stealth/better torps with the drawback that they can't hurt dds. Overall this will lead to less dd deaths to torps and more torp deaths to rest of the classes. How is that a bad thing? I haven't been following this from the start, so I can have missed something..

    I like it. It's easier to find questions you want to see an answer for. What I don't like is the inability to ask questions at all times.... If I come up with a question now, I'd like to make it somewhere. Doesn't matter if it takes weeks for an answer to come. If possible - I'd like to see the Question Section open for forum members to ask questions, discuss and possibly expand on the initial question or answer it. Answers could come at specific Calender dates.
  3. There are plenty of, primarily IJN, dd players who seem to be going for the 'whales' exclusively, often yoloing close to the borders. They fail 90% of the times it seems and are usually a burden to the team, just like camping bb players. If they got torps better suited for the 'whales', they'd probably still suck, but maybe a little bit less.
  4. It's the same Radeon 380. I just tried increasing the settings. It's not like I was suffering before.
  5. It's not like it's possible to prevent the borderlickers from doing their thing. Might as well give them something to make them more beneficial to the team.
  6. I just increased the graphic settings to high after having played at medium for two years. It looks pretty beautiful
  7. I doubt WG is making some sort of bb countering super torps. It seems more to protect ships supporting, screening or smoking the bbs. WG might be trying to decrease those random torp hits on 'low-health' ships. If there's really an intention to torp 'low-health' ships - you go for those shallow torps instead.
  8. It might help negate some stress sailing in front of bbs. Can be pretty frustrating when trying to smoke or screen for some torp magnets. I think the biggest thing is that this will increase dd survival rates. Although, dd players will probably still park broadside in smoke, so maybe not. Edit: I wonder if they're primarily trying to decrease the dd torp deaths...?

    New Orleans seems to be tougher to play than before. Mostly in tier ten games and lacks the firepower to take out fleeing dds during a radar. Farragut is pretty bad too... Pensacola at least gets good mm.

    I agree that it isn't the total solution to the issue, but it would help bone out the real issues. It's a pain to be in a game where the cv captains are too far apart in terms of skill. WG knows this and try alleviating this pain by implementing auto drops in low tiers. In high tier it's more or less game over for the potato-cv team. Even worse if the skilled cv-captain has divisioned up. If they increase control for the player or buff cvs, you'll increase the issues, unless you have skill based mm for cvs. Introducing skill based mm for CVs would increase waiting times initially, but if it helps to solve some other issues, you might see an increase of cvs longterm. Afk cv players would have to be banned a few hours from playing them again. I think it would be interesting to see in the game. As a start to fix cvs.

    Like mtm78 stated - they have made a new effort recently to increase communication with the players. I hope the players don't use this opportunity to reiterate their old grievances. It doesn't lead anywhere good... Just start fresh. Play and pay as much as you want and hope for the best. Maybe even stay positive and give constructive feedback? Without having all the details and practically no experience at all playing cvs, I think WG should consider implementing skill based mm when it comes to cvs. I'm sure it wouldn't be popular, but I think it would help balancing the cvs and the overall meta when cvs are in the game.

    If they were perfect, we had the perfect game and we were the perfect players/customers I'm sure it would be great. Now, this isn't the case. Cvs are apparently hard to fix. Paying for the content is optional. No excuses are really needed - pay for what you want, play if you want, and if possible - try to contribute to make the game better. That's how much one reasonably could care. If the appeal of WoWs was larger, they might have had a larger team and progress would be quicker, but this is what it is. I don't mind the rant, but imo, I think it's too harsh. It's easy to sit beside and criticize. If I see an apparent problem and an easy fix - sure, but this is tough fix and I see no easy solution. They're devs and might come up with something, but it seems they're struggling too. No reason to crap on their efforts. Should they scrap cvs altogether? Maybe that was the right call from the start, like they're saying subs are out. Otoh, I think it was worth a try, just like I kind of expect an introduction of subs in some form some where down the line... At least give me a gif

    This forum has a tendency of dividing people into groups... Even if there's an argument to be had for one side, the other side will kind of knee jerk. Try rationalise some of WGs decisions and you'll see

    As reply to the OP, I think he's too harsh. CVs aren't great atm, WG knows it. Are they good/decent/bad? I don't know. I think they're decent. I think the games in high tier generally are better paced without them, but they rarely ruin the games. How they are to play I can't say. People do play them though, and they do influence the battles in major way, which they should. Cvs must be the toughest current class to balance and I don't have any constructive ideas about how to improve upon them, so I can't blame WG for going slowly on this. Introducing premium cvs gives them a possibility to try out some new mechanics, but it seems risky since they are premium. However, I guess they could change cv gameplay altogether even with premium cvs in the game. I doubt they will though. Making major changes to cvs would take up a lot of resources and who knows if the game would be better for it?

    I think they're supposed to be a bit OP. Although, I agree that at least the Hakuryus(?) seem a bit too OP, maybe Midways too compared to the other classes. Some games they wreck everything.

    OP brought up Z-52 and Gearing as prime examples - they seem to be the fat ones in tier 10. I'm not sure about shima, but I suspect she suffers from other disabilities.. Z-52 is the best performing tier 10 dd this last week. It doesn't mean Z-52 doesn't suffer from bb AP, but I'd rather see them buff Gearing in that regard before. Maybe buff maneuverability, acceleration or something if AP pens or armour is difficult to change. I suspect Gearing was fat in real life too...

    yea... I don't have Khaba, another mistake..? I just know it can be a pain to hit khabas at range... then they heal.... I don't get it

    Okay, my mistake and I agree, Udaloi isn't OP to any agree, I think Fletcher is the better ship of those. I agree to the other point as well, but I'd like to see a differentiation between the normal cap contesters and the kiting/cruiser dds.. I don't see bbs switching ammo for Khabas or Udalois at almost the same range as enemy cruisers or bbs. Switching to HE when expecting a radar in the cap should be rewarded, but at long range, near impossible to hit kiting Khabas - I think it's unnecessary to penalize AP at these cruiserlike dds.

    I like the concept of switching to the appropriate ammo type, so that's a good thing. However, if we're looking at lowering AP damage to high tier Russian dds which have heals, you've got to ask yourself.... Udaloi and Khaba are quite tough for dds to kill, if they keep the distance and they're tough to catch and hit with cruisers and bbs, unless they make a mistake. If major AP damage happens regularly against these dds and you take it away, you're probably going to have to nerf them considerably in some way because they're overperforming despite the bb AP damage. If it's a minor issue, there's no reason to change AP damage, it's just RNG. Only having to use healable HE against Khaba and Udaloi seems like a huge buff.... The rest of the dds - the cap contesters is another matter. I'd like to see Gearing eat less AP damage. Tashkent seems UP. Shima too. German dds seems to be performing well despite being fat. Not sure what would happen to them if they were buffed in this way..
