    Hmm. I didn't receive a notification for this one. Apparently the forum software is losing patience with you just like me. Yes, a DD is out of position in that case. No, being 10.1 km from a Des Moines and making him feel uncomfortable isn't campy. You deal with the radar ship first. When there is no more radar threat because it is sinking or sailing away or detected far away on the minimap you can sail wherever you want. Bait a radar: you go into a safe position where no one can shoot you and when the radar is over there is a window to send some fishes towards him.

    Possibly, yes. Top the list equals farming damage which the Henri is exceptionally good at. To win games you have to do meaningful damage to key ships like DDs and radar cruisers, not spam HE at BBs that can be healed for 50% - 100%. It's easier to game the PR or 'top of the list' than to reach a high WR (over a high enough number of battles). The overall WR is a crude measurement, for more information you need to dive deeper, yes. However, show me one unicum who has an overall WR of <50%. On the other hand look at the average results of a 45% WR player, you won't find one who can achieve consistently good results.

    If nothing helps you can delete the preferences.xml file in your WoWS folder, this will delete all settings. Before you do that make screenshots of your settings in the game for easier setup. Also all minimap settings will be reset and all ships will have HE loaded.

  8. I always used them because I have too many of them. They were viable on Nelson, Lion and Conqueror because these can heal a lot of flooding damage, now they are viable on all BBs.

    @Runegrem Far less radar would benefit the DD for a couple of seconds, then a horde of BB players would whine about OP DDs and we are back at square one. I told you which problem I see for the class balance, i.e. radar cruisers would be pointless. You think a cruiser can survive when he is detected for a minute in the open near a cap? Republique, Yamato, Stalin, Alaska, Kronshtadt and others laugh right here. In the near future Kreml's dispersion below 13 km will be a lot of quick fun for the cruiser. I don't see the benefit for the DD in your example. The cruiser can't shoot him. If the others are close enough to get meaningful hits on the DD he is severely out of position. In addition to this, with LoS the DD will never know if the cruiser used his radar. Nowadays you can bait a radar, sit it out at an island and then detect the cruiser and F3-key him into oblivion. To be clear, I don't argue from the POV of a radar cruiser player, I play all surface ships. I can play around radar with my DDs, radar cruisers are dangerous but they aren't invincible. Because of their vulnerability they are rather easy to predict which makes them a good torpedo target. High tier DD play isn't easy and I wouldn't want to have it any other way. If you want easy go low and mid tier. So it is an attack on someone when I point out that he doesn't have enough knowledge about a subject that he is trying to discuss? OK ...

    No grammar issues. A radar cruiser in the open that is close enough to radar something is a dead cruiser. As soon as he is detected he can use his radar but that was his last action in this battle. So people would either stay in the back or stop playing radar cruisers a.k.a. they would be pointless. DDs and others on the receiving end wouldn't benefit from LoS radar. If you think this is a 'lie' (bit hilarious to say this about a prediction, we both can't know for sure what would happen) please tell me what you think. Or point me to a post # if you did already, 50 pages is a lot. The CV rework is the real problem for DDs, radar is fine. Just look at the numbers of DDs played. They went down when the US CLs were introduced, later they came back to normal levels. After 8.0 they stay at a low level. And no, that was no ad hominem. You need to have some understanding of a game mechanic to be able to discuss it in a meaningful way. Someone who has no clue how radar cruisers work (he said himself he doesn't like them so he doesn't play them properly) cannot predict what LoS radar would do to their play style.

    LoS radar would introduce many problems without being beneficial for anyone, that sounds like a bad trade. With LoS radar cruisers would hope never to get into radar range which would make the class entirely pointless. And we are back at no one can spot DDs, plz nerf DDs OMG they are so OP!!!!!!!!!1111111

    The same can be said about hiding a 60000 ton battleship at 14 km. The visibility system is super arcady but it is what WG chose for this game. WoWS is still here and the player numbers are very stable over the years so they must have done something right. It's in the game so it's not cheating, don't worry about it. (The same goes for the Radio Location skill which feels a lot more like cheating because it is an actual wall-hack.) This quote and your results with radar cruisers show that you don't know much about radar cruisers and how to play them. You lack the expertise to predict what LoS radar would do to radar cruiser game play. Btw, if you like to hear some tips I'll be happy to help.

    The less information you have the less you can risk, especially in a squishy radar cruiser. Line-of-sight detection would lead to more campy games. The only semi-safe way to radar a cap would be a perfect DD smoke for the radar cruiser. Would you like to trust a random DD player? Proxy-spotting is very rare. It allows for some tactical moves like rushing a smoked up DD who has no torps ready in a cruiser or BB, or counter-spotting a Z-52 that is hydroing you through an island. All these examples punish bad play, I see no problem with that. What bothers you anyway? So far you only brought up magic ... in a game. (Others already pointed out DCP or how about 30+% hit rate for BBs? Reload booster? BB with speed boost? Magic heal? Unlimited planes? Magic AA aura? Magic heal and reload boost from Yamamoto?)

    It's not that easy, there are some tactical positions on the flanks from where you can fire at DDs in caps. 10 line on mountain range, 1 line on warrior's path, 10 line on hotspot and others. Also, when you refuse to follow the lemming train you quickly find yourself outnumbered heavily. You can't fight alone against 5 so you kite them as far as you can, ideally pulling them away from the caps. Not everyone at the border is as useless as a sniping BB who reversed from spawn.

    Some people seem not to understand how to aim for a border scrubber. It's very easy! Always aim at the border line and try to predict the lead you need. He is slowing down but your lead can change drastically when he turns. The center of his ship will always be exactly on the line, you may need to aim a bit higher or lower for other parts of the ship. The longer he abuses the border the slower and more predictable he is. He can give you a hard time only in the beginning when he has some speed. If he reacts to your shots you can spread out your shots in sequential fire (hold left mouse button). Again, aim for the line. Either he stays on the border so he gets slower and is much easier to hit or he gives you broadside when he turns away from the border. Make sure you punish him for that with AP.

    FdG teaches you how to push in, retreat, heal and repeat. Firing angles are bad but neglecting your back guns is bad as well. If you learn how to be effective with this ship and not lose much HP doing it you will have a much easier time with the GK. I used full tank build. The 406s hit harder than the Bismarck, I preferred to go for slightly angled cruisers and BBs. You can farm overpen ribbons on full broadside cruisers though sometimes there is a surprise citadel. I'm talking about close range, at mid and long range the dispersion is rage-inducing. Tank build works well for GK, full IFHE secondary build is more fun. 115k secondaries + fires:

    Ships on the border are easy to hit, their movement is confined to one line and they slow down. If they play with the (fast) rudder to change directions, you can just ignore them. They are far from the action.

    Won't happen. They don't want you to know that you have less fps in port than in a battle. The port screen would be cluttered too much. You can test your ping with a quick training room or coop battle.

Ich habe eher das Gegenteil erlebt und war im Großen und Ganzen positiv überrascht, dass der neue Modus Arms-Race so gut funktioniert und dabei noch Spaß macht. 2 oder 3 feste Caps sorgen für Gefechte mit immer den gleichen Positionen, da bringen die dynamischen Caps deutlich mehr Bewegung rein. Der Mittel-Cap am Anfang des Gefechts führt wegen seiner Wichtigkeit automatisch zu mehr Teamplay. Tier-Stufe 9 geht so, vielleicht könnte es nächstes Mal Stufe 7 sein. Ja, da gibt es ein paar OP-Schiffe, aber die sind weniger problematisch als die Neuner.
  21. @Verblonde I can't recall the battle in detail, I played a couple of different IJN DDs for the Exeter mission on that day. No need to be so modest, I make potato moves which lead to my death more often than I would like. I screwed up well before we ran into each other, you found me and you secured the kill for your team. Well played! No need to apologize. I had Flamu on my team the other day and I didn't notice him at all until someone greeted him in chat at the end of the battle.
  22. Das müsstest Du aber schon in Relation zu den ach so realistischen Lebenspunkten der Schiffe sehen: 1200 auf einen DD sind 5 - 10% seiner LP, 4k auf ein BB sind < 1%. Eigentlich sogar effektiv noch weniger, weil das BB 100% des Feuer-Schadens und 50% des HE-Penetrationsschadens reparieren kann. BBs sind aber auch nicht die dpm-Klasse, eher die In-Null-Komma-Nix-Auslöschungs-Klasse. Mit der richtigen Munitionswahl kann ein BB alle 4 Schiffsklassen mit einer Breitseite rausnehmen. Die kleinen Kanonen müssen dagegen lange darauf herumkauen. BBs sind in diesem Spiel keine Könige der Meere, das würde in einem Spiel mit 4 sich konternden Schiffsklassen keinen Sinn machen. Eigentlich geht es nur darum verschiedene, möglichst ausbalancierte Spielstile anzubieten, damit es nicht langweilig wird.
  23. T4-Träger sind so schwach, dass der BB einfach fahren kann wie er will. Selbst wenn der CV alles trifft ist das immer noch weniger als wenn der BB sich eine Breitseite Granaten fängt beim Ausweichen. Gegen T6- und T8-Träger hilft Team-Flak, d.h. zu zweit oder zu dritt fahren. T10-Träger sind stärker, aber das sind T10-BBs ja auch. BBs leiden am wenigsten unter dem CV-Rework, vor allem mit dem Wassereinbruch-Nerf. Dagegen sieht man öfter Gefechte mit 0-1 DDs, warum wohl?
  24. Dann müssen BBs sofort aufhören von hinten zu snipen und selber nach vorne scouten gehen. Lustigerweise sind BB die Klasse, die am meisten auf Ziele schießt die sie selbst nicht aufdeckt. DDs können aus dem Nebel nichts sehen, nur Ziele die von anderen offen gehalten werden. Das nennt man Teamplay und das ist OP. Dagegen hilft ebenfalls Teamplay, z.B. den Zerstörer mit Radar aufdecken oder den Nebel torpedieren lassen. Im Übrigen reicht ein Nebel nicht aus um ein BB zu versenken (außer er war so schlau das erste Feuer sofort zu löschen).
