These indicators were always there, even before the rework. They are pretty basic, no info if it is strike planes or fighters. Even though I don't like the rework and its half-arsed execution this is not true. AA build + correct sector does work if and only if the enemy CV doesn't really know what he is doing, i.e. you will be fine against 90% of CV players. (Example: 24 Midway planes shot down with NC, manual AA and AA mod 1 only.) However, if the enemy CV knows what he is doing or he would just like to send you to port for whatever reason you can only bend over, grab your ankles and kiss your ... no matter what you are sailing. For me the biggest problem with the rework is: This game feels like an early access game. And not one of the good ones like Subnautica, more like Day Z. They only talk about changes (delayed plane launch, improved AA sector) but they don't get stuff done. We are in month #6 after the rework and not much happened in this time development-wise. The latest step was to use you guinea pigs for CVs in ranked, I'm sure they gAtHeReD a LoT oF vAlUaBlE dAtA. Are they done? Or will there be a solution to the biggest problems? How soonTM will that be? Whatever, I don't play early access games for a reason. I'll come back when if they are done. Another gripe is the lack of options. One of WoWS' biggest strengths was the sheer unlimited number of ways to play the game. So many different ships which actually feel different and can be played with different play styles. Two of my favourite ships were Yugumo with torpedo reload booster and Shimakaze, both with 8 km F3 torpedoes. Or radar Yueyang before the nerfs. CVs could be annoying but I could make them lose a lot of time and some planes. There is no way in hell you could play those nowadays and keep your sanity. There is only one way to play the game and you better pick the right ship. A lot of good parts of this game fell victim to something that many don't like (or even wanted). But Reckless, why don't you try CVs yourself? You might like them. No, this is not what I launch the WoWS.exe for. If I want to play a fast-paced action game I play a fast-paced action game. WoWS is a slow game which can get quite intense at times. And then it's slow again. There is not many games like this. This used to be a good game, in fact the only game that managed to keep me entertained for years, usually I get bored and move on much faster. But there is just too many good and FINISHED games out there, there is no good reason for me to keep playing this one. As long as another guy starts playing WG won't care. Even better, the new guy isn't saturated with credits and free xp so he is much more likely to spend money. The player numbers look fine, there is no reason for WG to change anything though the recent player recruitment features speak a different story (€10 000!!!).

#Metoo. RIP torpedo reload F3 Yugumo, there is no way you could play a battle without smoke nowadays. Vs. RTS CVs all you needed to do was to stay near 1 def AA cruiser. But hey, the most important thing is that the CV players have fun. Who cares about surface plebs?

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?
Ze_Reckless replied to KielYourself's topic in General Discussion
You are talking as if there was no slingshot and no pre-dropping to save planes. A good CV player never runs out of planes even when he is low tier. AA is worthless when you can fly around it / are immune to it. -

Ze_Reckless replied to KielYourself's topic in General Discussion
This. For WG the CV rework must be a success no matter what so they give all the advantages to this class. Untouchable, immune to fires, planes and HE shells, able to do damage all the time to all possible targets at all ranges. And they only look at the number of CVs played, not that some of them average 20k in a Midway (and others over 200k). I don't understand how they could take this game and shove it into the crapper like that, from a mostly finished game back to early access bs. They took a huge dump on 80% of players so 20% can play with their OP toy. And we are half a year after 8.0, still major bugs and imbalanced AA. Maybe they will fix it by 2030. -
do u see anything "strange" in those pics?
Ze_Reckless replied to pfcremus's topic in General Discussion
Took me quite a while to see it, chat gives it away. Never had this bug. Did you see the torpedo impacts? Where there two of them? Does it show these 2 kills in the result screen as well? If you have a replay I'm sure the WG people would like to look into it. -
Tasks with "earn xxxx" achievement

You don't need to know anything from memory. Click on the achievements tab in port under your profile or just search the WoWS wiki. -
Change the way you play with 10 Handy Tweaks
Ze_Reckless replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I never understood why the most helpful and some essential options are off by default. You tell us all the advantages yourself in this article, so why not switch them on by default? Took you only 4 years since release for this. Better late than never, huh?- 8 replies

I didn't watch it. When he has 762 HP and he shows a bit of broadside shoot AP, Overpens always do damage regardless of saturation.
-
They are knife fighters with crazy mobility. Carnal can stop and start quickly, another one (Kléber-variant) can turn on a dime. They are strong when you know how to WASD. I was skeptical at first but it turns out to be a fun mode. Divisions are very strong just like in other Battle Royale games. If you end up 1 vs. 8 you can just hide and wait for the enemies to kill each other off, I was lucky enough to win such a match. Must-have skills to pick: Vigilance, Radio Location. Concealment only for the very stealthy torpedo boats.

Use HE against DDs they say, it's more effective they say ...
Ze_Reckless replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
Well, it isn't as easy as 'always load HE'. It depends on the situation, which DD, which HP, which range, is he broadsiding, etc. With stuff like Khaba and Harugumo eating full AP pens WG shows that they want a tiny bit of complexity for BB ammo type choice. Most of the time you have AP loaded anyway. If someone is about to radar a DD you decide based on range and stuff if HE is worthwhile for that shot. IMO BB ammo choice is fine. -

Ze_Reckless replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
Solution: Don't aim at modules. Avoid shooting too high, try to hit the 'citadel', the mid-section of the hull. In some cases it is better to load AP (e.g. low HP DD with multiple saturated parts). Yes, it is hard to even hit a DD, let alone hit a certain part of him. BBs aren't supposed to counter DDs, you help your DDs and cruisers who deal most of the damage to the DD. In my experience HE is more reliable at close ranges (especially in those rare cases when a DD yolos you), for everything else I usually stick to AP. -

Ze_Reckless replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
It depends where you hit him. If you hit saturated parts of the ship or modules HE is much worse, often even 0 damage. HE against unsaturated hull can result in a dev strike. Another upside of HE are fires, if you get one he cannot flee out of detection. -

Position yourself so you are the least appetizing target a.k.a. f over your teammates as hard as you can. Good design for better teamwork. I don't care about DDs with AA on, they died before rework in 3 minutes and so do they now. The same goes for terrible CV players who lose all their planes to Yugumo flak. What I do care about is playing against a unicum CV player. Pre-rework it was possible to make his life hard, nowadays you have a timer running. Make your play before the timer runs out and the CV kills you without any counter-play. You can mitigate so much but if the CV wants you dead you are dead (unless you are a CV yourself, in that case you have immunity to fire and monster AA so it takes a lot longer).

Sometimes it's the client. I once finished on rank 1 and got the rewards but back in port I was missing a star. A client restart fixed it. I'm sure the system is fully automated so if something is wrong you need perfect and complete proof for every star you earned (and kept and lost) to have a chance with support.

Permaspotted and sunk by invisible Lightning -awesome balance WarGaming!
Ze_Reckless replied to Bartleby74's topic in General Discussion
Remember the good old days of the beginning of the CV rework when they had RPF on planes and did 550k damage per battle? Those were the days. Now a tier 8 tugboat can ruin a mighty CV's day. What has the world become? -

I had teams with 200 - 400 xp each, you could top that with 500. Would you call that being good? Again, you aren't supposed to farm credits or break even in tier 10. You are supposed to play mid tiers to populate them and finance your tier 10.
-
Winning gives you +50% XP but no credit bonus. So as long as you play well you don't lose credits even when your team sux donkey dix. 2k base xp should be enough to break even, get 3k base xp to earn credits. Remember, you aren't supposed to farm credits with tier 10 ships. Though that's exactly what I'm doing with my perma camo DM. I have played 2293 battles on my NA account. Play well or pay well, it's your choice.
-
You can fail at tier 10 and it doesn't hurt financially. The economy should be much harsher. I have a 0-cent account on NA. Des Moines, Gearing, Yamato, Shima and 40 million credits. Couple of premium ships from missions and super containers. How to do it: Play well, use all signals and camos you get for free, use special income like from US cruiser split or russian BBs from containers for free. Get to rank 1 a couple of times for the doubloons and buy a tier 10 perma camo, done. Tier 10 perma camo farms credits even without premium time.
-
You should not forget that there are not many NCs and Amagis with yellow turrets out there that have been given out for free. Bismarck stats will be diluted by yellow turret players.

'Worst ship in T9.' Well, actually it is the worst ship in Tier 9. Especially when you compare it to such balanced ships like Musashi. But as long as they are being played WG will see no reason to help them.

It's one of two things. A bad luck streak. In that case just stop playing, take a break from ranked or come back another day. In future, cut a streak like this to 3 or 4 losses max. Or you hit your skill ceiling. Watch your replays and try to find out which mistakes you keep doing or what you could have done better. Or wait a couple of weeks until the worse players have caught up at your rank.
