Correction: Every class sucks. The problem isn't so much the classes, it's the piss-poor player base. It got even worse than it was when you left 1.5 years ago. The only reason why you might feel BBs suck more than others is because BBs allow these players to live longer than they deserve so you see them more often. CVs are even worse offenders, it is almost impossible to kill them unless they suicide. But unlike BBs they don't do any harm to the enemy, they don't get any 'you tried-citadels' when they miss. They just miss.

Talk for yourself. I got the Stalingrad and I never play it because I find this type of ships boring. Stuff like radar Mino, Huang He, Yugumo is a lot more interesting to play.
-
For once we get a new ship that isn't OP and people whine. She is fine and fun to play.

Kremlin is BS, standard tektiks to make people spend roubles on free XP to get an advantage. It will be toned down once enough people have it. We had this so often now you should become accustomed to it. The armour is almost fine, the sides are too strong. If you see a russian BB bow tank just switch to HE, watch him burn through his repair parties and turn him into a 24/7 bonfire after that. If you do it alone it will take a while, if you have help he will go down fast enough. Stop underestimating BB HE, you have it for a reason. Two, to be exact: DDs and bow tankers. The whole line needs a general nerf on the guns, they felt too good when I played through them. Accuracy at long range should be toned down.

Map Awareness, Do You Have It?

Map Awareness, Do You Have It?
Ze_Reckless replied to Bear__Necessities's topic in General Discussion
Delete / move your preferences.xml out of the WoWS folder and look at your minimap. It is stamp-sized by default, ship symbols in spawn overlap and you can't tell who is moving in what direction. Most players play like that, they have no chance to develop map-awareness. But don't worry, WG has a solution in the pipeline: After the resounding success of the option to disable chat you will get the option to deactivate the minimap soonTM. -
Or bots because people can't be arsed to grind for research points. And unlike the 10k € reward recruitment thingy this won't go away ever.

Nothing needs to be done. It's easy to farm worthless fire damage, it is hard to do cap and team related stuff. Learn how to do the hard stuff and you will have good games. Played these today, don't play her often. All 3 battles 2k+ base xp. Khaba is fine.

That's what the ' ' are for. Time is the most costly resource we have.

The first time I got a lot of premium time out of them, it summed up to half a year or so. Next year they nerfed the chance for premium time, I got a lot more spotter plane upgrades. They learn and change the surprise mechanics to their needs. They would be extremely unsmart not to do it. Since these containers are 'for free' I don't care.

Sorry, the forum doesn't let me delete the @ in the quote. A measly 50k damage at tier 10 a.k.a. I had a terrible game is purple? Though if you look at the ships it's red and yellow. Anyway, this thread isn't about stats, b2t. Hogger4196, would you like to share your point of view and your experience with the game? How did you find this game? How was it when you started playing? Did you feel there was a lack of tutorials? How was your way to tier 10? What was the most fun moment for you? Is this game hard to play? What would you change if you had the power to alter the game? Tell us your story and feel free to add stuff of your own. Two more questions if I may. What is your opinion about the CV rework and how it went? What do you think about WG's plans to add submarines in the future? -

This sounds logical to a competitive/serious player. And to casuals? Not so sure. Multiplayer? Cool, I can play with my friends. Win/defeat? Who cares if the team as a whole wins as long as I had fun. Responsibility? I do that in RL, this is just a game. My teammates probably play to have fun just like me. WOWS was advertised as a fun game about historic ships with big bada boom, not as an e-sport. Play for free, fire all guns, sink the Yamato, dodge torpedoes, etc. Players are never confronted with their performance. They always earn some credits and XP no matter how little they did in battle. There is a handy 'battle on' button so you never have to look at the results too much. WG hides the average base xp from the player's stats by watering it down with premium time. WG clearly tells you: have fun and don't think too much. If you play bad you don't earn enough credits at tier 7/8+ ... unless you fork over some cash! Players buy premium time, perma camos, signals and even freaking credits for money to keep playing the biggest boats. There is no incentive to git gud. And here we are after almost 4 years of all that 'encouragement' to the playerbase. Casuals don't see any problems, they just play and have fun. Ignorance is bliss. And what about us? There is no good end-game content for players who play to win. Clan battles? Only during season, only these days of the week, only these time windows and knock on wood that the server doesn't die. Gee, thanks. Why are we still here? -

I disagree, this would make the game less fun for every type of player. We had the opportunity to test 0 RNG in the first battle royale event with the main battery accuracy booster for the re-skinned NC. Players with good aim devastated straight-linuses 10 seconds after they got detected. That was hilarious the first two or three times but it got old fast. On the other hand, when you were shot at by a player with not so good aim they would miss all shells where RNG would have given them one or two citadel hits. RNG makes the game less boring (dev strikes wouldn't be as fun if they were 100% predictable) and gives casual players a fighting chance. The majority of players are casuals, 57+%-ers are a minority. It's impossible to change the players so we have to learn to live play with them. We have the knowledge and we are big bois and gals, we can do it. What could WG do? Tutorials? This ship has sailed 3 years ago. Harsher economy at high tiers? This would have worked if WG hadn't cashed in on T9 premiums and T10 perma camos. I will never understand why a 'game as a service' would go for short term earnings as if there was a WOWS 2 around the corner. Revoke the credit bonus from all perma camos? Yeah sure! -
Message to WG regarding premium time.
Ze_Reckless replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
They kinda do. You can buy a month for 10 which is reasonable even if you don't play every single day. If you play less you can buy a week, even less you can buy a single day. If you play a couple of battles per month you can buy eco flags which are only used when you play. They offer a smaller bonus but would you care if you play almost never? Premium time helps with the grind through tier 9, it's not essential to have after that or before that. If you can't afford to play tier 10 exclusively you can always farm a bit with mid tiers and premiums. -
@ViceAdmiralMorgan I didn't say it's necessary to insult in chat, in fact I said it's toxic. Everyone has his way to deal with the player base and you can like that or not. For misbehaviour in chat there are chat-bans, for misbehaviour in team play, unsporting behaviour and such there is nothing. Me personally? I just stop playing when I'm starting to feel annoyed. And to be completely open and honest, I admit that I lost control in the past multiple times and even had a chat-ban that I deserved a long time ago.
-
@MacArthur92 Imagine a football game where some of your teammates (sometimes even most of your teammates) kick the ball into their own goal as soon as they get a chance. This is not less toxic than insults in chat. So basically these players 'insult' a lot of other players by just existing and ruining their games. (bit drastic wording for emphasis) We all make mistakes and that's OK, we learn from them. And then there are players with 20k+ battles and 40% winrate. Toxic game play (playing against your team) is less visible than toxic chat but it's not less toxic. And I'm not talking about your average 47%er. I've seen guys with hundreds of games on a ship with 30% winrate; this means they have 70% winrate for the enemy team whenever they play that ship. I would never deactivate chat. It is useful for team play (doesn't happen often but hey) and sometimes entertaining. There are no negative effects: insults from some guy on the internet make me laugh and are easy to ignore, most messages don't concern me anyway so I can ignore them, hackusations are actually one of the greatest compliments you can get, what have you .... And when someone crosses a line you can send the screenshot and replay to support and WG takes care of it. When the masses get the option to turn off chat they can turn this game more into a single-player experience which will make the quality of battles worse rather than better.

Most Königsberg bots are better than him. -
Don't bother explaining something to the average player, let your results speak. Provided you deliver said results you won't have any problems with chat bans and karma. If not you should work on your game play with RU DDs which is a bit different from other DDs. Focus on dealing damage at mid to long range while avoiding to get hit (evasion tanking). Whenever a DD is detected immediately switch your fire to him, also you should always be in position to do this. 'There is an island in the way' is not the island's fault, it's your poor position. Your favourite targets are those who can't hit you easily like BBs and that Seattle in your example, have respect for lasers like Zao or Moskva. Keep your guns hot and you can cap as soon as you have weakened the enemy enough. If a DD has no support because they ran away or died his concealment won't help him against you. Secure as many kills as possible, farming damage doesn't give points if the target lives long enough to heal. And you need to make points to make up for ignoring caps in the beginning. Tl;dr: Cap late, shoot all the time, evade. A lot comes with experience as well. Depending on the MM and map you can sometimes even cap with a Khabarovsk in the beginning. Usually you like to support others who spot for you (stealthy DDs and radar ships). As long as you keep your guns singing you can let the enemy get a points and cap advantage. Be patient, get the kills and you will have an easy time of mopping up the rest. The RU DDs are versatile when it comes to builds. You can experiment what works best for you though AFT is a must-have most of the time. Sometimes you need to adjust your play style to a ship line to make it work, it's not always easy. I speak from experience, my RU DD stats are poor, especially Kiev (old VII and new VIII). I utilized the above game play tips recently when I ground my Grozovoi legendary module and it worked beautifully. Feel free to compare my recent Grozo stats with what I achieved in lower tiers.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Ze_Reckless replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Your team was beyond speshul, probably they didn't all die fast only because of the cyclone. In the end I had the opportunity to taunt @El2aZeR with my 1k HP Shima, he got me down to 300 HP or so. Sadly he is chat-banned (like always) so I didn't get to hear him rage. Let's hope for a bit more even teams the next time we meet. -
Hat World of Warships ein grundlegendes Problem? (Re-Grind)
Ze_Reckless replied to Wadenbeiser's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Only one person in this thread is triggered. You don't deserve support, it would be a waste. The winning strategy is to use your spotting before you die inevitably or to ignore you completely. Now please do us all a favour. Go to your first post, click the report button on the top right and report your thread for whiny little female dog.

You survived 4/17 battles in DDs with abysmal damage, you have no right to complain about yoloing DDs. It would be better to not skip the Wickes with free xp so you can learn step by step, git gud and show how it's done eventually. If you learn how to DD you also have a much easier time predicting what enemy DDs will do when you sail your BB.

Hat World of Warships ein grundlegendes Problem? (Re-Grind)
