I always liked ranked and I still do. Your skill matters, you have more impact than in randoms and it's a good lesson in self-control. Keep it solo, if you want to play with friends play clan battles or random divisions (or sprint divisions). Playing in division sounds fun but you seem to forget that you would have to play against divisions as well. Have fun against Smolensk + Radartaur, Kremlin + anything etc. while your team has double Conkek, double YOLO-20km-Shima etc. Also, ranked with divisions would f over solo players hard. The only thing I would like to see changed: Get rid of irrevocable ranks. Do you rely on those? No, but Mr. 2000 battles to rank 1 does. I voted 'no' obviously. Now push me off the plank.

@nambr9 The AA skill nerfs your AA, used to be good last year. WG always know how to get your doubloons / elite xp.

I run radar Mino with JoaT, Preventative Maintenance and Last Stand. Torpedo reload would be viable as an alternative.

Gefühle sind subjektiv, damit hast Du Deine Frage selbst beantwortet. Wenn Du eine ordentliche Diskussionsgrundlage schaffen möchtest, kannst Du ein Replay von einem Gefecht hochladen wo Du nur Overpens bekommst und Deine Mitspieler können dann sagen was los war. Replays findest Du im Ordner /replays im WoWS-Verzeichnis, Du kannst sie mit der WoWS.exe öffnen. HE benutzt man eher selten und nur für spezielle Situationen, z.B. wenn ein BB gerade Feuer/Wassereinbruch repariert hat, angewinkelte BBs, DDs usw. Jedes Mal wenn Du Dich genötigt siehst HE zu laden, solltest Du Deine Position überdenken. Es ist besser da zu sein wo man mit AP wirken kann. -

Not enough people were playing CVs because these damage farmers are boring to play. So WG nerfed AA and buffed CVs, especially Hosho because the 1 - 2 CV players in a team are more important than the 10 - 11 others. -

As a BB you are least affected by CVs. Even if one focuses you, you have the range and the survivability to deal enough damage before you die. The 4-point skill is not worth it, the catapult fighter is a much cheaper and more effective deterrent against CV attacks. -

In my opinion all AA skills are a waste of points. If you have to, pick BFT. All other 'skills' buff flak which is completely useless. The MASSIVE AA skill (rofl) costs 4 points too much for what it does, it gives a tiny buff for low AA ships when you press the sector button at the right time. Welcome to the CV rework. Your only hope is that the CV player on the enemy team is terrible; 90% of them are so the odds aren't bad at least. If you get a decent or even unicum player against you no amount of skill points will make a difference. What you can do however is present a bad target for the CV. A good CV doesn't want to waste time and looks for the easiest target. -

Move the replay into your replay folder and open it from there. Yesterday I tried to open one of mine after copying it to another folder and it didn't work, had to press 'Enter' for log-in and got the infinite loading circle. Moved it back to the replay folder, it opened without log-in and the replay worked. Edit: OP's replay works outside of the replay folder, now I'm confused. -
Scroll out one notch with your mousewheel to see more of the target. Scroll out even more for long-range shooting.

Git gud and you can reach rank 1 in 100 or less battles. Or don't and play as far as you get, there are rewards for each rank. When this feature was active in form of a bug it was quite fun to play DDs and cruisers. If you can break line of sight you reduce the bloom time to 2 seconds which allows you to play more aggressively. BBs can use this too sometimes. 20s bloom time is fine though I would like to see an increased bloom time for BBs to 30 seconds or alternatively their reload time. BBs are the only class which can go dark between salvos without having to stop shooting. -

Kremlin, Smolensk, Hosho, ... these are the reasons why people say that. Friesland brings something new to the table that maybe isn't everyone's cup of tea. That's not easy to achieve if you consider how many DDs are in the game. The Friesland isn't easy to play and it's a lot of fun to look for ways how to make her work, just like it is with ships like radar Edinburgh, IFHE secondary GK, gunboat Shima and other oddities. Sure, if you only care about stats and the META you will hate her. But does every single new ship have to be stronger than the rest? Do you actually like power creep? Well, you can buy her for cash. Do you think people who go the easy way to obtain her would invest a lot of time to learn how to play her? No, they just go pew pew until they die. And those who want to learn need some time to do so. -
I would also wish that the national+ option works as advertised. Europe is full of different languages and I would love to hear all of them from the respective ships. The same goes for the pan-asian tech-tree. They used to work with national+ until some Chinese people were not so happy about that. Since the Chinese are stuck on an old version of the game with RTS carriers there should be no need any more to have the pan-asians speak american.

You have a lot to say about a ship you never played. The unfair fight part is a general rule for all DDs. Stealth-torping, ambushing with 2 - 3 HE-salvos then vanishing, firing from smoke etc. are all unfair fights. You do this to protect your low HP pool, best is to take 0 damage. The Friesland cannot evasion-tank with speed like a RU DD and she's not that hard to hit so you try to avoid 'fair' 1 on 1 gun duels. Or kill the target before it can retaliate which is possible with this crazy dpm. In other words she is a glass-cannon, play a bit safer than you would play other DDs. I can't think of a tier 7 DD that could rape a Friesland. Minsk? Don't let him kite you. Mahan? You have smoke and hydro, at mid-range and higher you outgun him heavily. If the Friesland misplays sure but this applies to Kitakaze and all others as well. When I got into a bad spot I still traded, my death for a dead enemy DD. It's not ideal but far from a rape. If there are CVs in the game would you prefer to sail a Friesland or a French DD? No AA skills are needed, you take BFT for the guns. If there are no CVs even better, one thing less to worry about. A DD is a DD even without torpedoes. What a DD needs to be a DD is concealment. True, Friesland doesn't have the best concealment but with this firepower she shouldn't be too stealthy. Nothing remarkable? You haven't fired her guns. Question: Can you get 500 hits with such a 'puny' armament of 2x2 guns? Answer: Yes! And look at my HP, no rape marks. Btw I'm not trying to sell the Friesland to you guys. I'm just telling about my experience with this ship so far. I like odd ships, I'm odd myself (e.g. ranked out with Yugumo), the Friesland is a good ship for people like me. Ymmv. Also, for me she was for free, the free xp was only gathering dust. -

Friesland is a fun ship. If you like Akizuki and Harugumo you will like her. The daka is real but the hull is flimsy so you need to position yourself extremely carefully. The smoke + hydro makes it easy but you can also daka in the open if you do it right. Can't wait to get a 19 pointer for AFT just like on my IJN daka boats (currently 13 pointer with CE and BFT). Tip for DD fights: You want an unfair fight. If you can't get it don't engage. In 5 battles I had only one opportunity to test the AA but boy was it an opportunity. A Haku was determined to drop me with all the rockets and AP dive bombers he had. I have no idea what his plan was. So, good news! Against 95% of CV players your AA is good enough. (Damage was lower than my 80k average so far because of cyclone.) -

Good thought but Richelieu has 340 mm of armour on the conning tower. My best guess is a hole between two armour layers and a 1 in a billion shot. Let's just say the armour-pen mechanics work in mysterious ways.

Masochist bin ich nicht, aber ich mag Ranked. Man hat mehr Einfluss als im Random wegen den kleineren Teams und man nimmt es ein wenig ernster weil man keine Lust hat verlorene Sterne wieder einzuspielen. Ich fand die vorige 9er-Saison mit Arms Race besser, da gab es mehr Bewegung wegen den ständig wechselnden Caps. -

Yugumo in Ranked? Yeah! Awesome guns, awesome concealment, good speed and nimble enough to dodge stuff. Awesome torpedoes as well, especially with this puppy: Smoke is for wussies. I started very late, played the last 10 days of the season. I'm not sure if this would have worked in the first 10 days of the season. -

You forgot fighters. I had 31 plane kills with a Kagero, then I realized that's actually only one plane kill. The other 30 were fighters that the CV wasted just to spot me. The numbers of plane kills look bigger but the impact is lower, worthless fighter kills and strike planes shot down after they dropped. -
To the main question: I would have pushed back the Anshan. Your Bretagne was pushing in, I would position myself between him and the DD to reward him for this behaviour. Also, it is basic teamplay. He tanks for you and shoots the BBs while you make sure the Anshan doesn't get an easy kill. The enemy BBs were all east behind the islands and they were moving south, there was no danger to push north. While pushing north you could put a couple of shots over the island into the König in mid. This would help your Bretagne and while your guns would be on the 'wrong' side the Anshan might feel safe enough to show himself. Your ship and guns turn fast enough so you would be able to punish him for that. If the König turns his guns towards you, disengage. Even if he shoots you that's one salvo less into your Bretagne who is in a much tougher spot than you. Other thoughts: You show too much broadside when you clear the island in front of Spee. You repeat this mistake against Bayern and König. You were lucky you didn't get deleted at least three times (Spee was HE only, later BBs). You switch to AP for Spee's broadside. Good! Otherwise he might have gotten away behind the island. There is no need to kite away from Anshan. He doesn't want to be within 6 - 7 km of you, you can push him away from Bretagne so he is useless with his 8 km torpedo range. Only make sure you don't sail in a predictable way. Still, you have a much easier time dodging his torps than a mid-tier BB. It would have been beneficial for your team if you had drawn Anshan's attention and you would have kept A cap this way. General tip: You scroll in and out of artillery view, this takes a lot of time. Better use shift key (I have it on middle mouse button) to be able to shoot instantly. It makes a huge difference, you will get more salvos on the DD. When the Anshan ran into the border you could have blind shot him a bit. He can't leave the border so just aim on the line. In general, focus DDs asap and put all the shots you can afford into them. Every single lost HP hurts him a lot. By countering the DD you could have saved your Bretagne and König, together you could have killed all enemy big boats with ease. The Anshan can't kill all of you on his own in time, especially when he is RPF-ed 24/7. This is the kind of thoughts I have when I watch one of my own replays. I hope it doesn't sound too harsh, best read it in a matter-of-fact tone. Btw, I also bought the perma camo because I love my Nürnberg. Watching you play her with such a dedicated captain (RPF yikes!) makes me feel humble.
