    I have a free-to-play account on the NA server. I got to rank 1 three times for the 5k doubloons to buy perma camo for DM (if you get lucky with super containers two rank 1 can be enough). I use this DM to grind credits and elite captain XP at the same time, the latter is essential for retraining captains. I used flags and camos on all ships, special signals when I had premium time active. I ran out of credits much faster than elite XP. I always used credit flags on DM, XP flags only when I needed elite XP or when I had many flags in stock.
  3. I haven't spent a penny for over a year now because of CV rework and other genius decisions this year. Nevertheless, even if all forum users would stop spending they wouldn't see 1% change in revenue, we are a tiny minority of the playerbase. If this was a well-managed and well-developed game I wouldn't have any problems running premium time 24/7 and buying ships occasionally like I did in the past. It's their choice, my existence doesn't depend on this game.

    I used to play F3 only before the 12 km torps were added, now I play the latter. The range gives more flexibility and the torps are fast enough. Radio Location is much more valuable than TA because I have no smoke.

    @Inappropriate_noob It depends just like for BBs. For example you can't push in with a République like you could with a Kremlin. I play my radar Mino like an oversized DD in the front-line as a spotter / DD-murderer. Zao, DM, Worcester can support a DD from close range as long as the enemy BBs don't push hard. On the other hand my Henri has 17.7 km 'concealment', I adjust my position depending on enemy BB positions and islands. I'm not entirely sure why you would want to have a cruiser in front of you. I like to have a DD in front of me when I play a BB, with his scouting I can shoot at any threat that comes up. Ideally, cruisers take safe positions at a range from the enemy where they are the most effective.

    After one battle with FDG I must say the guns are much more consistent at close range, I shot 3 - 4 salvos into an Alaska bow and most of the shells did hit where I aimed. Regardless, even before the patch Tirpitz was a good ship, now she is even stronger.

    Technical improvements (visuals, Login speed, Rendering)

    Check your monitor settings in the graphics options menu. With 'Fullscreen' it takes a while to Alt-Tab and the GPU usage should go down when you minimize the game, with all other options there is no change because the game is always ready in the background. Edit: I just tested a couple of ports, most of them eat a lot of GPU power. Special ports like Ocean, Azur Lane or Spaceport are a bit better, Designer Table is best. (GTX 1080 with all graphics settings on max in 1440p)

    Spoiled brat! Were you expecting a ship? Don't, trust me on that. This is what I got from a big box from the armory on my free-to-play NA account: I'm so lucky. No, I'm not ungrateful, I don't care what happens on that account. Just saying the boxes aren't worth it. If you want to spend money on them be prepared to get lots of camos and signals and nothing else.

    It's your time and money, your decision. For me it's clear, I have too many ships anyway, I don't need this. However, if I wanted this ship badly I would buy it straight away for 240 because this is the cheapest option. If you don't have the money, instead of doing these insane missions it would be better for your health, sanity and dignity to earn it by buying a couple of condoms, going to your local port, waiting for sailors to arrive and then bend over, grab your ankles and kiss your arse goodbye.     I wonder if those poor 4 souls who went for 'Yes, but not paying' realize they will have to pay to complete the ship in the end anyway. Even if they used bots (no allegation) I doubt you get those for free. Never mind the shiploads of camos and signals that have to be wasted on this. There is no PR for free even if you have unlimited free time.

    I'm a bit miffed like with Benham that I had no chance to get but not really angry that I can't get a pixel ship. What I am angry about is how you prey on people who lack the self-control to not play an unhealthy amount of time when they are supposed to spend time with their families. I mean, just think how many hours of pure play time you need to complete enough missions to get the PR or even Gorizia 'for free' (insert a vomiting smiley). As an emphatic human being I disapprove strongly how you treat people in the season of love.

    CV: Always blamed for the loss of a game

    Why would a CV ever waste time on a DD who isn't doing anything useful all game? CV doesn't need to delete you if you delete yourself. Topic: The only case where a CV is not responsible for a loss is when the team dies like flies because a CV needs time to do the work. In all other cases if you didn't carry in this class of ship you should try to git gud. Can't help you with the replay because of my lack of knowledge, wait till 1 of the 20 CV players who know what they are doing shows up.

    Zwang ist gar nicht nötig. Man könnte einen Tutorial-Feldzug erschaffen, der den Spieler an die Hand nimmt und ihm Schritt für Schritt die wichtigsten Grundlagen direkt im Spiel zeigt. Besonders am Anfang wären Unternehmen die perfekte Wahl, um Neulingen die wichtigsten Mechaniken beizubringen. Das kurze Tutorial von WG war ja schon ein kleiner Schritt in die richtige Richtung, in der Art könnte man Munitionswahl, Zielen und Vorhalten, Anwinkeln, Ausweichen, Verwendung von Torpedos, Verwendung von R-Taste, Sonar, Nebel und die Sichtmechanik erklären. Nach den Grundlagen vier Missionen für die Schiffsklassen. Die ersten Aufgaben wären Unternehmen, die die Besonderheiten der Schiffsklasse erklären, z.B. Kreuzer sind verwundbar, BBs können einstecken, Zerstörer möchten unentdeckt bleiben, welche Flugzeuge für welche Art von Ziel. Die weiteren Aufgaben müsste man dann in COOP- und Zufallsgefechten (im Welpenschutz) abschließen, z.B. eine Anzahl Wassereinbrüche oder Feuer gelegt mit DDs, eine Anzahl Zitadellentreffer oder Feuer gelegt mit Kreuzern, etc. Statt der Accountstufen (diese fand ich als Anfänger ungewöhnlich/kryptisch und ich bin PC-Spieler seit den 90ern) müsste man diese Missionen abschließen, um nach und nach Kapitäne, Signale, Tarnungen usw. freizuschalten und die entsprechenden Belohnungen zu erhalten. Als Belohnung für die ganze Kampagne könnte man eventuell ein Stufe 2 Premiumschiff springen lassen, entweder ein bestimmtes oder über die Waffenkammer oder eine 2er-Premiumschiff-Kiste. Steam-Achievements wären eine weitere Karotte für Spieler diese Missionen abschließen zu wollen.

  22. Your suggestion would make the IFHE skill even more mandatory than it is today and it wouldn't solve anything. If you are caught bow-in in one or more golden showers, ricochets would only prolong the inevitable. IJN gunboats had AP for damage and HE for fires. Most players aren't intelligent enough to choose between these two options so WG went for LUL just fire HE all the time and you are fine. My suggestion: Remove IFHE and HE calibre divided by 4 / 5 gimmicks completely. Let small calibre HE pen DDs and CLs, not CAs (hull immune, superstructure vulnerable until saturated). Give them special AP that is a bit less effective than Mino and SAP for damage on all classes when (slightly) broadside. Won't happen though because it would require players to choose between two ammo types.

    Shima accelarated torp time?

    I use this module, Aiming Systems Mod 1 in slot 3 and Torpedo Armament Expertise captain skill, for the 12 km torpedoes the result is 103.3 sec reload. However, the torpedo tubes turn about as slowly as the turrets on your Nagato. You need to think in advance where you will launch your next volley and turn the tubes to the left or right side 30 sec before they reload. While launching you turn your ship with the rudder to aim your torpedoes. You don't need to play in the back at all, just avoid knife fights which you don't want to have in a Shima anyway. The Radio Location captain skill is very useful to avoid unpleasant surprises. Is the grind worth it? That depends. For the Des Moines it turns a decent / strong ship into an awesome ship that is even more fun to play; Yamato, Zao and Moskva profit immensely while for ships like the Yueyang it is a waste of time and camos / signals. For me the Shima legendary mod is worth the grind, ymmv. The grind takes a lot of time, premium account helps with the free xp and credit stage. When you get the module you will know the ship much better and then you will be able to assess if you are ready for it. Before you mount it make sure you have 25 doubloons for the dismounting in case you don't like it. Don't sell it for credits.

    Most people click on the X and don't bother after years of experience with WG's handling of our feedback or they generally don't care, they just want to play a game. Sure it isn't 100% bad and it had positive effects from time to time but let's say this isn't WG's strong suit.
