  1. Didn't care for anything, played normally. Noticed I only need to play a couple of BB games to complete the third directive, so played Republique. Did it for the booster rather than Gorizia tbh. Did tier 10 snowflakes, didn't really care for the others. What is the main prize for the collection anyway, is it worthwhile completing it? The crates cost only 100 D iirc.

    On one day 80 - 90% CV battles, the other day 40 - 60%. I would need to check the tiers but I won't have many replays saved. I know that I had a bunch of both, might have been around 70:30 tier 8/10. Played a bunch of other ships after this and was too lazy to change max replay number. Btw, thanks WG, we totally need to save 150MB disk space.

    Almost done with the legendary grind: Only one enemy CV was willing and capable to stop me, rest were battles without CV or they just sucked. DDs are far from impossible to play but for the average player they actually might be. Most DDs (green/red) died like flies. And you won't believe the amount of DDs and BBs who tried to push into my smoke/hydro. I guess most of them actually didn't know I have hydro.

    Play it like a better Lyon. Time your turn to use all guns, bow-on turns this ship into a JB with terrible reload. Alsace is pretty strong in a kiting position. Don't be afraid to use HE when your AP bounces.

    I found her pretty good even before the introduction of the reload booster, that thing made her too strong as we could see when CBs and KOTS were suddenly infested with Henri. Not sure if an engine nerf will change much.
  6. They aren't necessarily addicts, some people have a lot of time or they just enjoy grinding hard missions for the feeling of accomplishment. Unlike you I do feel sorry for addicts, it's not like they can help it. And I dislike WG's mission design because it encourages people to play for an unhealthy amount of time and might even turn some of them into addicts.
  7. Grant 100 camos after you had to spend 500+ to finish the directives? How does losing 400 camos sound positive to you? Not to mention the time you had to waste playing what WG dictated whether you wanted it or not, in other words they made you their female dog in the holiday season.

    I had this both with damage received and damage done. Sometimes only the in-battle counter is wrong and the post-battle counter shows the correct number. Must be rounding errors.

    Rigging clarification

    Please tell that to the majority of the player base. The other day an enemy Kremlin said gg in all chat at the start of the battle and suicided into the middle of the map. He wasn't happy with the performance of his DDs although they capped 2/3. This isn't rigging but I'm sure his teammates felt cheated.

    @Lieutenant_123 When I had your number of battles I was playing tier 3 - 4. There is a lot to learn in this game and you are experiencing what it is like to play without sufficient knowledge of the basics. Trust me, it won't get better if you keep climbing the tiers like that, it will get much worse. Like some others already said, slow down. There is no pot of gold at tier 10. Take your time with each ship until you really understand how to play it and get decent results in most of your battles. Try different ship classes, the better you know your enemy the better you can counter him. Try to master all ship classes at tier 4, that should give you a good basic knowledge of most game mechanics and how the classes play and interact with each other.

    @ForlornSailor Part of the rising Hosho PR comes from it being OP now, most of the stats were recorded from games before the buffs. To your question, I don't know what most players would do or if they would even notice. I would see myself forced to become a CV main or uninstall. I would like to stress that I don't object against CVs in general, before the rework they increased the difficulty and made most battles more interesting to play while there was always some form of counter-play regardless if you were a DM or Yugumo without smoke. There was teamplay involved which I quite like in a team-based game. Now you have this kid unleashing his COD kill streak on you and you can't do much about it, teamplay is non-existent apart from hugging the carrier for AA when he pushes into the caps towards the end of the battle. I wonder what would happen if everyone who hates the rework agreed to become a CV main and make life hell for everyone else. There wouldn't be many servers left to emigrate to.

    How so? I didn't tell you to shut up or anything, I didn't stat-shame for stat-shame's sake. I only pointed out why you might perceive no difference if there is a CV in battle or not. Skilled CV players ignore ineffective DDs because those eliminate themselves from the game. It would be a waste of time to search for them when he can just kill visible ships. And as soon as you try to do something useful like capping his rocket planes are on the way immediately.

There is one more undetected torpedo to the right of this set that will hit me in a moment: There were no ping fluctuations in this battle, I didn't see any weird behaviour other then the missing tracers of shells and torpedoes.

    You are pretty ineffective with DDs already so there is nothing a CV could ruin for you. What is discussed here is about effective DD players who like to decide battles by spotting, capping and torping but can't because CVs hinder or kill them.

    This thread has 550 pages now. Many things that you say have been said by others here at the beginning of the rework. WG ignores all that. I also wish they would take the failure of the rework seriously. It seems they prefer to keep going as if nothing happened. There is a saying: Hope dies last. And there is a sarcastic addition to this saying: But it dies. The same happens here on EU. And I feel the same as you do. I used to love this game but when it is changed to the worse it is hard to keep playing. The addition of submarines is extremely risky, the fact that WG think they need to add them into the game only shows how desperate they are. That is remarkable and sad at the same time. You shouldn't have to move to a server with a worse ping only to be able to enjoy the game. A company that cares for its players would never let that happen. I'm curious if the migration will show up in the online server statistic in the future. Here on EU the average skill level and quality of games has dropped lately, let's hope it gets better again after the holiday season and Puerto Rico directives. Well, I guess anything is better than CV hell on Asia server. Great, another class that does DD things better than DDs. Why not just throw out DDs and replace them with subs?

    You want to avoid gunfights in CBs so the Somers' weak guns don't matter much. The torpedoes have enough range to hit radar cruisers and you can spam them quite often. It was used in Kots, can't be bad for CBs.

    Yes, from all surface ships DDs are the class which is countered the most by CVs. Especially torpedo DDs have problems while ships like Akizuki can still use their guns to be somewhat effective. I would like to add that cruisers also suffer under CVs, namely from spotting and AP-bombs. The only class that doesn't care much about CVs is the BB. (This is also the most played class by far, especially by less skilled players.) The only saving grace is that most CV players on the EU server are terrible players. They lose planes to flak clouds and they can't aim, they even miss BBs with rockets. You can dodge their attacks in a DD and you can fight the battle like there was no CV in the game. Here are some of the worst Hakuryu players from wows-numbers.com: On the other hand, when you run into a unicum CV player you have a really bad time regardless what class you play. A DD is affected the most but a cruiser won't have much fun either. Luckily, there aren't many unicum CV players on EU. And we have around 40 - 50% battles without CVs. (That depends on the tier though, tier 4 is infested with Hoshos but there are fewer CVs in high tier.) In short, there is no counter-play to CVs. All you can do is hope the CV player is terrible. I don't like this situation, in fact I hate it and it brought me a bit closer to uninstalling this game. If I understand correctly, you say there are a lot of strong CV players on the asia server. Do you have CVs in every battle you play? Do you get many battles with more than one CV per side? Anyway, if I had to play against strong CV players most of the time I would quit the game. No counter-play means no game for me. Let's look at the whole picture. Every class except for CVs lost players in the range of 8k to 10k, low tier BBs even lost 15k. There might be other effects involved like the Puerto Rico event for example. Destroyers have always been the least played surface ships. Most players aren't very skilled, they don't understand how to play a DD. BBs and cruisers are easier to understand. However, I agree that a lot of players play DDs less often or even stopped playing them altogether since the CV rework. Why would you play a DD when a CV can do everything the DD does but better? Better and faster spotting, better killing. I would like to clarify that I agree with most of what you say. I only disagree with your proposal of solutions to the problems of the CV rework. Radar, plane spotting and rockets are deadly but the number one killer of DDs is bad DD players. Even if you remove radar and plane spotting DDs will still die. They park broadside in a cap, smoke up and wait to die from torpedoes. Or they try to rush a Minotaur or Smolensk. (This is from my experience on EU, I don't know how it is on asia server.) Good DD players on the other hand can decide battles. DDs are a powerful class and they need powerful counters, otherwise good DD players would be too influential. There are no proper tutorials in this game. Sadly, Wargaming doesn't believe tutorials would help. Well, now is a bit late for that anyway. Four years ago there might have been some hope. So most DD players will continue to die. Submarines will be the next 'interesting' addition to the game regarding DDs. The CV rework needs a rework. Sadly, Wargaming seems to have given up on it. There needs to be counter-play against CVs but that is impossible without the rework failing (no one would play these CVs if there was counter-play, check dropping CV player numbers in patch 0.8.6). They were thinking about a change to the spotting mechanics for clan battles but we haven't heard any news since October: I don't believe we can ask WG for solutions. All we can do is learn to play better even if we have to play against all odds. If that isn't viable or the game stops to be fun I would uninstall it. WoWS used to be my favourite game before the CV rework, that changed when they introduced this class without counter-play. This ending might sound hopeless but what can I say, I am a realist.
  19. Was für einen drund hab es denn früher? Es hat sich ja nicht viel getan über die Jahre bei dem Thema. Klar brauchst du keine Inseln wenn du nur BBs und Open-Water-Kreuzer fährst. Bei einer Radarmino, DM, Atlanta sieht es da ein bisschen anders aus. Oder willst du einfach nur leichtere Ziele haben?

  21. You have a weird logic. I have proved that you don't need a premium ship to achieve a 90% win rate. One case is enough to proof the contrary of your claim ('most blatant p2w evah'). Your analysis of average stats is wrong and it proves nothing, try again. The average player has very few or no premium ships at this tier. Better players are happy to buy stuff (or were I must add after the events of 2019) and often have multiple premium ships on different tiers. I also have a Tirpitz and I chose not to use it, Hipper was the strongest ship for me. If I had a PE I might have chosen it. Better players tend to pick the best ships, average players don't know which are the best picks or they don't care and farm the daily bonus on different ships. That's why premium ships have better average results, their players are better not the ships.
  22. Bisher viel Meinung gehört und keine Gründe dafür. Warum findet ihr das denn so toll? Was wäre die Bereicherung für das Gameplay? Mal abgesehen von Versehen werden Inseln oft zum schnellen Umkehren benutzt um zum Beispiel rückwärts einen Cap zu contesten oder um eine DM punktgenau abzubremsen, dass man nur die Kanonen zum Schießen draußen hat. Deine Idee würde das Spiel nur langsamer und öder machen. Man bedenke auch, dass die meisten Spieler alle Neuigkeiten ignorieren und einfach drauf los spielen, die würden dann die nächsten Jahre wegen Hackern und unsichtbaren Torpedos schreien.

  24. Look at the top players, a couple of Enterprise and GZ have 100% WR to rank 1. 3 Tirpitz and 1 Massa achieved that as well. Enterprise has the most players with top win rates by far (relative to how many people played her). The average results of CVs are only bad because most players are bad.
