    ...ofc theres things like planespeed, cooldowns, numbers and such as well....nothing gets solved with this rework, it just gets shifted and put into another context. there they'll gonna try to balance what not was intended in current design. so, after all this is way more work than overhauling and tweaking current system. somehow i gotta think of STO and how the devs simply can't code pvp there lol, so maybe WG simply got no dev who can code proper RTS ^^ ... ...yay internet assumptions and such

    imo (!), after i saw the stream and read about it.... no, just no! my bet is on fail. biiiig fail! this thing will cause way more problems then it's gonna solve. from my perspective the current implementation is the most logical and easiest to balance way to go. for sure way more easier than what we gonna get (yep, imo even though only 1 squad at a time per carrier). i'm dead sure that with like a third up to half of the work they already put in this and gonna keep on doing so, they should've achieved a way better result in terms of overhauling what we got. also simply because the whole game yet is made up for this system. balance AA over tiers to planes and between em (anyone thinks high tier AA is insufficient lol?!), re-introduce manuals on lower tiers, tweak dmg output of planes (ap's...) and fix the UI. voila.... things like hybrids also could work in that system, simply by putting planes on a secondary-like mechanic with short range, while still being able to use MB's or whatnot... yet i think these would even work better in old than in new system btw.... but yeah *sigh*

    ...montana: - very good concealment if maxed out - very tanky while being angled - good speed and maneuverability (? :D :x) - really good guns, though small cailbre in comparison .... don't rush on matchstart in a BB on t10! stay a bit back, get an idea of where enemy spreads out to (/lemming to), position and watch to not get x-fired/keep ur flanks sure to be busy on the long end or (better) clean. have an exit, but dont stay back too far. be ready to push mid-to late match, use cover to get superior positions and use ur concealment... tadaa... if only i would read my own crap ... here's your guilt btw, as u never ever should find urself being shot at from every angle.... u mispositioned hard in such a case! so, all left to say is..... or (in the end doesnt matter ):

    xcept for, it does not solve any of the problems! not a slightly bit! it just shifts them into something that not got shapen in any way yet balancewise! .... in germany we got a sayin: rather dance with the devil u know.... i wouldn't be too surprised if in the end this whole new concept indeed gets nothing but an 80's arcade automat, on way or the other even more hated than what we got now. imo btw the way cv's are now fit exactly to what i would expect they had to be in a naval game. a powerhouse, but planes rather fragile (theres quite some AA ingame and still people cry) and the ability to oversee and influence the battle everywhere on the map, while being vulnerable itself as ship. "air cavalary" i think is a term known. and a cv is not just one bit of sight of a map. they stay back, get intel and coordinate, perfect commanding ship.... nvm, i stick to ovan now i hope lol....

    dang , that one came unexpected .... fun it do looks like, but somehow dull in the long run as well. even more when considering that whole rts will get removed for this? ok, i give up lol question now is, do such a low playercount exist there cause it is all so hard, or because it's not promoted nor educated in any way? lemme elaborate a few sentences. i started before manuals were introduced. they then got implemented and i stopped cv's totally. dipped in later on again and learned the ropes myself. now i'm opn a level where i can farm dmg just fine mostly. everything else i can do i also do, but not excel in it. and i'm totaly fine with low player population for cv's. it's not like they were around like dd's in numbers, nor that they not had the impact. right education, tweaking relations of tier, AA, and potential dmg by plane would be a way better lane imo than dumbing such monsters down to one squad in the air at a time. new, fun... ok. real substitue to what we have or where me personally sees cv's? aboluetly not!

    oopsies, sh*t. slithered in again ... i'm just curious: is there ANY halfway serious cv player in here, with like a bit of clue (f.e. 500 cv matches +, pos WR) who welcomes the new style?... i mean, is there even a single one of those players who got a clue who welcomes it? somehow i doubt that. half the stuff con-side i did read in here did read like it was from people who either never played cv or don't understand 'em (not that i would do totally, but at least i think i got a clue). so, casual to unicum, step up. show urself and shed some light on the whole thing and why its good to people who know what urre talking about. thx ! and now dear lord, plz make me and my calories stay outta here

    what u miss is the simple fact that it would be possible to keep the rts element and bring balance by tweaking. but yeah, way easier to jump on a fence ..... idc if u dc if rts gets removed or not. i do care, and while i let u play the game as u want u want to block others preferences..... pve/pvp STO flashback *sigh*, "let's dumb it all down".... why u not simply play a game then without carriers ingame from the release on?! wouldn't any simple fps shooter cater u more? or is that also not ok, coz there might be things like map induced arti shots or smoke layers? edit: i know this kind of discussion, it wont lead anywhere. simply because perfect examples as shown never will get the point and the publisher will keep on trying to stick with what they expect the most money from. they simply wont get it, by experience, really never (still reading a bit on STO forums lol).... so, i'm out. njoy the mess when it hits, guess i play a bit real cv as long as i still can and go do some saipan pwn

    ooook, i guess i know now what to think of all this..... as i'm a really casual cv player in comparison to my battlecount i might drop my opinion shortly: - rework/remove of rts: hell no! even though the concept is different from the action style indeed i think it's the perfect solution.... u don't want cv's to be like all the other classes, COZ SIMPLY THEY'RE NOT by default! they are powerhouses, they have tons of planes and they should be able to f.e. spot allover. what had to be worked on others already stated. tutorials and relations of tier, dmg potential of cv's and aa balance in combo with a working ui would've made it imho! ...i surely don't want tons of cv's ingame, like 3, 4, 5(?!), i don't want them being played easy.............. the image itself is so stupid lol..... 1 CV MAX... make it 2 after a real rework, not this extermination to cater people who have no clue (or too much glue lol). i really enjoyed hopping onto cv's from time to time, always when getting bored by the actionstyle. it was like an oasis, while still being able to enjoy my fav game. note, i dont mean to say cv play is not tensious, it totally is! on that part i gotta totally agree with what farra said in that vid: this whole mess up now and, imo, worthless discussion/new cv-style (coming anyway :/) would've been totally avoidable by leading players to where they'd needed to be to simply work with the rts element on both ends. it's really not that hard, either ways (ofc depending on expectations). well, even if one runs into unicums, with a bit of mind paid any cv still can be useful or do dmg to enemy team. (got shredded f.e. in midway lately, he got 60 of my planes..... i went out with like 190k dmg+ and 2nd on my team, with like 1.2k base xp on a loss.... long story short: he wrecked me while i still achieved something....)... LONGER STORY SHORT (to all the snowflakes being scared of evuuuuul rts pwn-rollers): GIT GUD... same goes for WG game conception in this regard ! edit: on a sidenote, i came from STO pvp years ago. that game got destroyed totally balance-wise and in terms of gamedesign because the devs there couldn't stop to cater the casuals, the masses. it now is a disgusting mixed up powercreep, in terms of pvp totally dead. don't make the same mistake, dont cater the masses. do not to the elitists as well, but keep on a path of uniqueness! and this rts element makes this unique! even in its implemented form it still is way more balanced than everything that came to STO in the last few years... don't go down that STO lane plz............

    i'm twisted.... i really liked the concept with rts element ingame, made it somehow spshul (in da good sense lol). now it seems it all gotten flatten out a bit. would've preferred reqork of given model and mechanics, but yeah.... i do look forward to trying it out and most probably wont get me any refunds (sitting on saipan and ent). one way or the other are that it gets changed to the better if it sucks at first. .... curious, but not over the edge...

    ...make kita torps hit kita torps on top and we have a fireworks partymode 12vs12 is just fine for this games' randoms. other modes may be debatable and a monster-size map with 30 ships+?.... sounds nice, server as said won't like most probably though
  18. dear op, really just as friendly headsup: don't count on it! do not try to force it, it might get u disappointed... comin' from someone who got burned out and gave in like all seasons before, no jolly roger in yet 9 seasons. this season i started with just trying to go for last stage on some unique upgrades, ended on a losing streak for my zao. jumped on henry and full sec-GK, finally back on track lol (...maybe xD :(...). what to be learned: don't try to force it ;).... regarding ur stats u might be too early for higher ranks btw, get some more expierience 1st. on the other hand, ranked not that much is about skill, so might just enjoy lol. edit: oopsies, no unicum ticket here, i'm out

    - as i can remember it has been quite worth to level on intended max skill pts. (15?), as one got a headstart with that on the new system without losing anything --> headstart for dedication - well, thats what they did, and therefore granted rewards for alternation to dedicated players regarding the matter. same goes with oil... - read above - already answered - it's not, as one with 200 matches now so to say can get it as easy as one with 500 who has to put 200 on top. as being said, in terms of dedication i indeed do see a difference (and with that term it gets adverstised) the dragon flag/sc container on top to what being said above all are perfect exapmles for rewarding "dedicated" players. while there are things like perma camos from campaigns for old ships it's usually not tied to a certain ship to progress or even close to what i would call dedication. the example pretty much also could be my local sore giving out price reduction for long term customers, but yeah.... as i said, to me it's just not fitting, it's ok if u guys are up for the grind...

    .... did anyone of u read the most recent posts? ofc it's nice to have new options, but the question atm more is like, if these upgrades are meant as a sign of dedication to a ship, then why we have to "regrind" through t10's we already have up to millions of elite xp on? why should we need to play 200 matches more on ships we already have 500 on?! even more so when the reward in most cases rather is meeh? people who get a new t10 still can go for them from scratch, nothing wrong there, but people who have k's of t10 matches not necessarily should be forced somehow to replay on ships they already played for aeons imho. we all like our new selective powercreep, but we not all need to like the way it's set up.

    in my case i got a wooster upgrade now (+hindi yet), which is kinda totally(!!!) worthless. it's fine i got it for free, it's fine i not have to mount it, nor have to wait for buffs. but it's not fine that now i have this upgrade on a ship i played waaaay less than quite some other t10's. for sure my dedication to f.e. GK in quality and quantity allover is set way higher, but yeah

    as i can see that point, i for sure gotta disagree! most other content is related to something totally new. new lines, nations, events or whatnot. these upgrades though relate to something long time around, on which many players already did spent loads of time on. also it gets directly advertised with the term dedication to something long time around, on which new players still can spent their dedication on. in that regard i would find it to be totally appropiate to take former progression into account, just as f.e. as with supercontainer/dragon flags special we had yet on wows birthdays (perfect example here for something related to dedication). .... the people who already play a lot most probably dont need such incentive, they gonna relog anyway. even more, my bet is they would appreciate a recognition on their dedication way more than such hollow incentives to play ships they did play for hundreds of matches already. the way round it is now at least makes me feel being less precious so to say *sniffs in tutu*...

    well, to me it does matter, as these missions now kinda bind my collectors soul to play t10 only and to "waste" good camos and signals i rather would save up for things of my choice (yeah, still my choice atm, but who not wants progress if u get in some kind of pressure to progress?). i not would get all upgrades instantly either, but i would feel way more rewarded for the dedication i already did show on the other ones. atm it's more like "proove again, and again, and again" ... @MrConway, @Crysantos: plz shed some light on this stupids customers perspective (who is me)

    ... after a chat with @MortenTardo yesterday he/we/i (his idea) more wonder, given that these upgrades are a reward for dedicating to a ship, why not former progress on the ships had been taken into account for finishing the upgrade mission. in my case i sit on all t10's, of which several i did play kinda close to what i would imagine as dedication. for sure i'd finished those missions several times already on them if the missions would've been on at the point i got em. so, what do you think, should former progress should be taken into account and why it didnt happen anyway? (feel like tagging WG, but may better 1st off have a glimpse on what the forum thinks)
