Sorry, wrong thread. Moving it elsewhere.

The map performs well, though it's not that different from the other maps which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The map isn't very visually distinctive though. Edit: I'm not saying that the map should be excluded from the game on those terms, I just thought that it would be nice that maps in the future can be made more distinctive like Land of Fire, Okinawa, or the Desert map.

It's nice, but the requirements for the third and arguably even the second crate is rather steep. As these are rewards that commonly would be collected within a day, it would be better if the xp requirements were made lower than they are now. If not, it might also be good if the second and third crates contains more rewards than the first.

Updates should they be fast or should they be slow?

So still no fixes for the CVs. Brilliant. -
This is a public announcement to new players going up the USN carrier line so you don't make the same mistakes I did. It is good practice to free XP your way past certain aspects of some ships (i.e. the stock hull of the Amagi, the FCS of the Mogami, the stock hull of the Colorado, etc) because often these stock hulls are so detrimental to the performance of the ships that it can often cost the allied team a victory. When going up the CV line, most people upgrade the flight control system and the planes, as these are the main performance limiters of CVs and then they grind the stock hull later. This is normally good practice, considering how little the hull of a CV usually matters in the CV's usual performance. This is NOT the case for the Bogue, Independence, and Ranger! Hangar size for USN CVs: Stock hull upgraded hull Bogue 24 28 Independence 30 37 Ranger 58 73 More plane resupplies means that as a carrier, you'll be able to replace those planes you lose to enemy AA and fighters, meaning that you can stay in the fight and be useful to the allied team for longer. As a carrier, it is what lets you carry you weight. To those new to USN carriers, save your free XP for these ships! PSA over /(-_-)/ P.S.: And stop playing Bogue in AS, you're the reason your team keeps losing!

Probably the most ridiculous game in the history of WoWs
dasCKD replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Don't be mean. Those BBs clearly don't have the 5th tier captain skill that allows them to shift the rudder more than once every 5 minutes -
To throw potatoes at the CV?
-
Touching another person when on a high speed motorbike doesn't cause much damage because you are both moving in the same direction and therefore you have a relative speed of ≈ 0. You can touch someone on a plane safely for the same reason, despite both of you going at around 1000 kmph. The fact that you were able to ram the CV at all however means that you were going at either a different speed or a different direction at the CV however, so your example doesn't apply.
-
It's the way the game is modeled, unfortunately. The ramming damage is fixed so Newtonian mechanics don't apply. To be fair, even a slow collision will result in catastrophic for both ships in the case of a destroyer colliding with a carrier.
-
Not strictly related, but does survivability expert improve the damage that ramming does? I assume it does, I just never had a chance to check.

would be nice to have more aircraft carriers to game
dasCKD replied to julmatar's topic in General Discussion
This lack of skill when playing CVs is in fact the reason why there is basically no difference between the win rates and average damage of the best and the worst carrier players as skill plays no part in the CV class. Wait... -
Snipe the f*cker. AI CVs can't even defend their ship.

What happened in real life was the carriers dominated the seas and annihilated everything from a hundred kilometers away whilst WW2 era AA guns tried and mostly failed to stop ship after ship from sinking. The last thing we need is realism, because at that point no one would play anything but destroyers and carriers. -
Ranked Battles S5 [all rank battle topics merged]
dasCKD replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
The fact that there is no safe harbor between rank 12 to rank 1 is what I find objectionable over everything else (apart from the fact that they won't let me take my OP cheatship, the Saipan into ranked). It's especially annoying if you're a CV player and getting the top rank in XP is close to impossible so you'd basically need a 43 game winstreak to get to rank 1. Maybe if I get really annoyed, I'll try my luck with the Atago. For now though, I'll just grind on and hope that I don't find myself with a bad team or a good CV player. P.S. I found it extremely annoying that there were so few DDs in the games I played. I wish there were more low AA targets that I can use to farm XP off of. -
Smoke from fires on your ship and torpedo lead indicator.

It's a problem with all classes with large superstructure. I am glad you bought it up though, it is something that needs to be addressed.- 12 replies

Because more people read the gameplay section and attention from people across the internet is the only thing that keeps me feeling like my life is empty.

Fires hurts destroyers and carriers more than any other class. That said, people don't take fire prevention because the marginal improvement in fire reduction is not worth something that increases combat efficiency to such a high extent especially to those ships with painfully slow turrets like the Yamato or low tiered BBs. I can skip EM on ships like the Atago or Ibuki because that skill can save me basically every 10-30 seconds while the fire prevention is more or less useless for anything but a dice roll that just rolls either way regardless.

About half-half between dragged out and dull and quick and violent. We're seeing the resurgence of things like Epicenter that results in a victory with most of both teams still alive and standard battles with the same result. Domination is usually a bit better, but then you still get border hugging. The playstyle really only suits SN DDs and IJN and SN CAs who just rains HE on bow on and reverse targets and destroyers are more focused on getting good torpedo runs than actually capping because that'll alert their targets. It's not great, though it has its moments.

dasCKD replied to julmatar's topic in General Discussion
The only other nation with enough actual carriers to justify a line are the Brits, and quite frankly considering how much they nerfed the historical performance of the aircraft of the USN and IJN for introduction into the game I very much doubt that the British carriers would even be playable when they're introduced if WG will have anything resembling the war period performance. Besides, the USN and IJN both have enough carriers to split a line if necessary and the fact that the USN line past the Indy and Saipan sucks at everything but killing battleships who have yet to hear about the WASD hack when the Shokaku is not paying attention is what is causing the Shokaku dominance, not the lack of carriers. -

Just how ridiculous DD's really are, DD's fans i laugh at you

The OP may well be a troll, but the sentiment that he expresses is one that is held by many battleship captains. Some new members come into the forums to complain, and if they see these ridiculous but unchallenged views then they would just become more entrenched into their way of thinking. Allowing such rigid and prejudiced but loud players to remain as the voice of the community would in turn cause the kinds of gameplay balanced that causes the battleship dominance in the game right now. -

In the last two weeks at tier 8: Cruisers represents 59 832 games (22.2%) Battleships represents 118 720 games (44.2%) Destroyers represents 82 339 games (30.6%) Carriers represents 7 421 games (2.8%) So no, you're wrong because your premise is wrong. *numbers are rounded to 1 decimal place, collected at 3:08 6/10/2015 -

This brings up a good point though. A BB player should NOT be advocating for realism in a game of the WW2 era, considering how wars went for battleships at around that time period.
