Torpedoes really are broken
HassenderZerhacker replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
okay, it's less bad than I supposed. the effect is predictible and can be countered by aiming differently. -
Are WG changing the direction of your torps? ? ?
HassenderZerhacker replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
of course they do this to shells -
ColonelPete is in some way the CV of the forums...

this. they made the game into a "naval attack plane simulator" where non-CV players provide human-controlled targets. I wish everyone would just stop to play non-CV ships to show WG where the wind comes from.

beginners ( less than 8 weeks play) and matchmaking
HassenderZerhacker replied to Commander_PeaBoy's topic in General Discussion
the whole game is like that for everyone. and the more you go up tiers, the more unfair the battles become. at tiers 8+, it's quite common to meet 3 unicum player divisions with a CV, all sporting 60%+ winrate. at least at tier 1 and 2, there are no CV. take an Umikaze and learn spotting and torpedo DD with that. then from tier 3 up, your first priority will be to hide from CV. -

Uncalled for nerfs : is WG simply creating room for Submarines to fit in PvP ?
HassenderZerhacker replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
my thoughts are reworked CV ruined the game and subs will ruin it even more, if that is even possible. -
Can WG themselves give an explanation how taking ( combinations of ) AA skills and modules should be attractive ?
HassenderZerhacker replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
the problem with AA modules and skills is that using them cripples the ship on normal battle. -
Suspension of disbelief - for me the line was crossed with introduction of Dutch cruiser parachute bombers and Japanese battleship hybrids - there are simply too many planes in their squadron...
HassenderZerhacker replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I read somewhere that some supertanker had over 600m of anchor chain, I confess I too googled the Missouri's anchor chain length after writing my post :) -

yeah, that's another thing. but I'd expect large warships to have anchor chains that are between 300 and 400m long. long enough for most places. -
Karma and enemy spite reporting
HassenderZerhacker replied to Hans_the_Hawk's topic in General Discussion
not for dropping fighter cover, no, because I don't play CV as I think it's boring. for the rest, it depends. are you able to make three passes on my ship despite AA and interceptors? -> yes will you first find my DD because there aren't so many places on the map where I could possibly be and you can cover everything in less than a minute? and then keep me spotted for a long time or eat half its HP with rocket planes? -> yes will you send wave after wave of seemingly infinite planes every 1 minute until my ship is sunk? -> yes I really don't understand why people complain about karma, I'm only applying the Navy way of reprimand. Captains often get fired, even if what happened wasn't their fault, but they bear responsibility anyway. Playing WoWS, you are in the Navy now, get used to it! It's not the players' fault if WG designs the game in an unfair way. But I can't report WG, can I? But the other question is, would players be playing CV if that class didn't benefit from unfair game mechanics? You clearly aren't an offender regarding the former question (I had a look at your profile) but I saw many players who played more than half of their battles in CV, often with high winrates. They have that fun at the expense of other players. I decided they wouldn't have it at my expense anymore. Why I post? I really liked WoWS two years ago, even spent some money. I would like the game to return to a state where it was more fun. -
Karma and enemy spite reporting
HassenderZerhacker replied to Hans_the_Hawk's topic in General Discussion
I fully agree with what you wrote, and yet I maintain that spite reports are totally justified in the cases I mentioned. The game puts players who just want to have fun in unfair and frustrating situations - and some players exploit that game design for their own fun at the expense of others. Spite reporting is entirely justified. Petty, yes, but justified. now you have piqued my interest. I really beg you to expand on that statement. unless, of course, if "no idea how" means that there is no way to defend against air attacks, in which case it's normal that nobody has any idea of how to do it. -

LOL best case results in order of desirability: - anchor chain(s) break(s) (very likely) - anchor chain winch is ripped off - ship section breaks off (unlikely because anchors are designed to break off if there is too much tension) - in the highly unlikely event that everything holds, the hull would probably break due to excessive lateral water pressure -
Which Ship Grind Makes you want to give up the Game?
HassenderZerhacker replied to Invitatus's topic in General Discussion
CV. I tried to play CV, but it's so boring. I can't. And oh yeah, I gave up on WoWS. It was the video on CV popularity that broke the camel's back for me. There must be many players like me who would rather watch paint dry than play CV, but WG makes CV more OP to attract more players to playing CV so they can justify to management the investment into CV development... which drives players away, therefore they need to introduce even more planes and subs... makes sense? Then people will say: "just play co-op" or operations. Sure... to get 10 times less XP and be stuck for years grinding? This game is simply not fun, or I shall say, it became unfun. -
Mid-flight shell arc correction
HassenderZerhacker replied to Ubertron_X's topic in General Discussion
it's a client/server sync issue. the arcs you see when fired are those calculated by the client upon firing, they show pretty accurately where you fired at as long as the server doesn't send the results of RNG. RNG sometimes causes complete misaims to hit and also the opposite, but when a well aimed salvo misses the target, the result is shown as "dispersion" or shells falling way short of target. The more funny RNG corrections are when I know myself that I misaimed, but the shells hit the target anyway thanks to RNG. in this case, the shell arcs are very "unballistic" lol.- 5 replies

Karma and enemy spite reporting
HassenderZerhacker replied to Hans_the_Hawk's topic in General Discussion
it's fully justified to spite report against CV of any tier and unicum divisions playing top tier or any other tier than tier 10. -

Please return flags for achievments
HassenderZerhacker replied to Myrmix's topic in General Discussion
yup. look, I got the same emblem as you, and after all these years I think it's better to ignore WoWS and to move on. the way the game is designed has been getting only more and more toxic in the past 2 years. -

aa Your investment into AA? Captian skill points, Ship upgrades, Consumbles
HassenderZerhacker replied to Adm_Andre's topic in General Discussion
AA options are really bad - for most ships, the choice is between "viable build" and "AA build", the latter suffers heavy drawbacks, because modules or consumables that are very useful for normal combat are then used for AA instead. WG should make AA skills available without cutting too much into ships' other capabilities.- 119 replies

HassenderZerhacker replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
agree on historicality of planes - disagree on them being a source of fun in the game. -
well, even WG recognizes that there is such a thing as "too OP" because it causes people like me to throw the towel. regarding the nerf itself, there really are only 2 possible scenarios: - CV popularity doesn't drop or not too much -> nerf was insufficent - CV popularity drops significantly -> watch as the nerf is partially taken back or another buff introduced
