CV Rework 2019 in graphs and where we are right now

I came across this gentleman today, of course he was playing CV. His record says everything about CV players we must know.

battles won by cap too fast

I feel battles are won by cap too fast. It often takes time to turn a battle and by then, if your own yoloers died and enemy rushers capped early, there is not enough time left to officialize what should be a clear victory but instead turns into a defeat because the game rewards lame play. Thoughts?

agree - yet capping in domination is slower. I mostly had trouble with battles with 3 or 4 caps, where there was strictly no teamplay at all.

    Mystery Ship Win ?

thanks for the explanation - today I clicked for the first time on this ocre box at the top left of the port... and discovered directives, lol. I was wondering where the awarded stuff came from!

    Battleship captain skills

I have read many threads and internet resources about battleship captain skills, but I am still unsure about some recommended skills' usefulness and got some general questions. I'm currently playing Japanese and German battleships (tier 5-6), but from what I saw in Battle, US battleships seem very good. Is this true? I like fast ships with long range, obviously the Japanese seem to fit the bill, but in the few battles I played with them, found the French to shoot precise - is this true? then about the skills - every guide I read assigns skills in the order of skill level. I mean: level 1 - PM level 2 - EM level 3 - SI level 4 - CE is there a reason for that? wouldn't for example HA + AR be more useful to have than CE ? another question about CE itself - every guide I saw put CE as first priority level 4 skill. but in most battles I play with battleships, I get detected within the first minute of battle anyway, even when I hang back a bit. planes from carriers are spotting me and destroyers spot me too. CE reduces detectability by only 10%. For example the Kongo is detected from 16.2 Km, with CE this drops to 14.6 ... König from 14.6 to 13.2... König is so slow that when it goes unspotted it takes ages to relocate and it is easily found again by planes and destroyers, not to mention getting always spotted immediately when firing. Is CE really more useful than HA + AR (or other skills) ? Is there such a thing as a universal noob friendly battleship captain skills build? What would be recommended current skills for Japanese, German and French battleships?

battles won by cap too fast

how could you possibly interpret a like on a post stating a fact as a wish to lower the amount of victories by capping? as I wrote earlier, capping is a team objective that doesn't make much sense when there is no teamplay, it just rewards high risk tactics of cap rushers and yoloers. and the speed of capping and subsequent point increase leaves no room for strategy, it's not possible to be somewhere on the map and then decide - ok, defend this cap and now we go take this one... there is simply no time to do anything after the initial rush if it was successful, it takes too much time to reach the caps.

without a team, there is no useful cap defense a lone ship can provide. the last battle I lost that way, I shot 2 of 3 ships capping, got "defended" ribbons, but with 20 sec reload couldn't prevent the cap. the capping generally goes too fast too.

    sound general advice. relevance?

battles won by cap too fast

thinking inside the box... the dwindling player numbers seem to indicate that many players adapted themselves by not playing anymore.

battles won by cap too fast

ok - next step in my thoughts is that game mechanics or event mechanics should be tweaked to prevent people from ignoring game objectives. for example by putting xp requirements or ranking in team or whatever to be awarded the mission, to avoid people yoloing and condemning the rest of the team to having a bad game experience.

battles won by cap too fast

actually, I was complaining about losing inspite of turning the battle around. this post could bring more clarity: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/128976-battles-won-by-cap-too-fast/?do=findComment&comment=3304691

okay. can we agree it's a bad thing?

battles won by cap too fast

that's a common sophism. I'm not complaining about low winrate in this thread - that would be a separate complaint ;-) I'm saying the game mechanics need tweaking.

neither "smartass" nor "captain obvious" are insults. it's forum banter.

battles won by cap too fast

My comment is valid for the battles I played, at the levels I played. Found myself many times in the situation where enemy team capped by rushing and half our yoloing team got killed, but then 5-6 ships on our side turn the battle using superior tactics and get into a situation where we are something like 4 ships vs. 2 or 3 vs 1 and 2 caps vs. 1 and the enemy wins anyway. It's illogical and frustrating. Turning a battle against the odds should be rewarded more. Capping and cap defense are team-oriented objectives, but in randoms teams do not play for the team win, so where is the point of having the outcome of battles decided by objectives designed for team tactics?

yeah, his reply brought nothing to the thread. remark 1 : if I would prefer to lose fast by cap ... that's a smartass comment remark 2 : caps win battles - duh, captain Obvious.

noobish question - how to see rewards?

I must have missed that information in-game. After a battle ended, there is a list of completed missions and tasks, if any. Where can I see the list of rewards that I received after such a battle where a mission or task was completed? They don't appear in the notifications window.

noobish question - how to see rewards?

thanks... it's a bit messy though and no way to know what I got from the last battle.
  25. no - I had neither enough doubloons nor coal to buy anything. so I bought nothing. also, the ships available for coal aren't that interesting in the low tiers.
