I agree with OP. Saying I loath Yamato, the supposed apex and historical absolute most powerful designed BB ever, would be the understatement of the year. I think it's the most pathetic joke in this entire game and even more insulting than the absence of Dutch ships. FFS: Yamato has to fear CV's!! In RL it took 500 planes to bring it down! It cannot move, the shells will shatter (IF you hit) on the most nimble DD's, the turrets are welded to the hull, it is spotted from the Andromeda system and all it can do is hiding behind a rock and hope someone will come into firing range. Heck I'd also like to propose a special Yamato achievement which "clear skies" would be a picking "don't get set on fire less than 25 times in 1 battle in a Yamato" Reward: 2000 DCP's.

Do I have to mention the most obvious? Please tell me I don't....

Also met @xXx_Blogis_xXx today. My opening words were prophetic: "Blogis is playing his Saipan. That's bad news for us." He ruined my beautiful Tirpitz attack against a New Orleans and Izumo on B in Shatter (normally a picknick for my primary serial killer in this game). He even said goodbye very politely. Ooooh!! That +1 Karma Forum "obligation" did hurt me so much!!!! But as the gentleman's agreement is dictating: I got 1 from him as well.

OP. Just checked your stats. Don't buy a premium T8 BB just yet. Your highest BB is Nagato. In which, with all respect and no offense meant, you're performing poorly. I'd highly recommend you building up more "regular BB" experience first. Otherwise I'm afraid you'll be disappointed severely. In your case I'd recommend Atago. You have way more cruiser experience. And well played that will net you good credits as well. Or otherwise Kutuzov. IMO you're not ready for a T8 prem BB yet.

I will try that @ImperialAdmiral I don't care if it's "cheap" or not. HE worked like a charm on Queen Gerorge the filth. Especially when reds were assuming I was spamming HE.... Giving full BS on that, the AP was glorious.... Thanks for the advice.

To be honost: I'm missing the "all above" option in the poll... Granted I don't have Okt R and JC. But for me the T5 BB's have the same "magic" as my T8's (apart from Monarch, of which I posted a cry for help on this subforum). For me the T5's are very powerful once you get to know their strenghts and weaknesses. (ARP)Kongo because of the speed and long range, the US and Konig because of the "floating bunker effect." Oh, were you shooting at me? Heck I didn't notice that... And indeed the Iron Duke for the "Bloodhound gang phenomenon...."

Hmmm. I'm very much in doubt about my timing. Still my soul is aching for one of the most obvious questions. OK, I'll take my chances: will they be able to shoot torpedo's? Seems like a very dumb question. But we're talking about the RN lines here. I can clearly remember how many people said: "how ridiculous! A cruiser which can't fire HE?" That won't be possible. And I'm still recovering from the miracle of the BB's being able to shoot AP. So in that persepctive my question might not be that stupid.....

Lol indeed. Well I guess it is possible. My record is 41 planes in 1 match. With Atlanta.. I specced Hindenburg AA. And its score is 100. Plane record on that one is 29 for me. IIRC I made that record in an endgame between me and a CV. So I got his full personal attention and still only managed to squeeze out those 29. (we won for that matter. CV and me complimented each other for the epic end phase. It was a rare nailbiter match instead of those boring avalance ones).

That's my whole point. I am looking for a objective argument why a ship is being considered "OP." Is that only the WR factor?? I don't get that. I'll zoom in to Impregnator. Compared to the other T4 BB's it has the highest WR and ave dmg (Orion is coming hard in as second). But what am I comparing?! Looking at Wyoming and Myogi vs Imp the numbers are highly different in favor of Imp. Granted. But how biased are those? When I was playing Wyoming I was already thrilled about having a BATTLESHIP! OMG!!! I thought I conquered the world. Did I know zip sh*t about ammotypes, angling and the use of WASD hacks?! Heck I started to pray when someone called watch for the citadel! It was only after having being stomped into the bottom when I figured I did something wrong. For me this forum was my salvation. Learned so much here (for which I am forever grateful to you guys. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.). Having said that: the numbers on Wyoming and Myogi are heavily newby biased. Ark Beta F.e. is coming way closer to Imp. Now I bought Imperator the moment it came out. It was an impulse buy but when I did I already had some basics about BB play in my system. So it is my best performing BB on T4. But the difference between it and Kaiser in my case are insignificant.I only now see I've actually performed better in Kaiser statwise. Started the German BB line way after the "zombie apocalypse." Thus pro-argumenting my players experience point. What I'm trying to say is comparing the stats with other tier class ships is impossible because of the biases. Frankly it's giving me the idea of potatoe pampering: "oh look, I see players do so well in that ship. Boohoohooo! It's OP. So let's ban it." IMO thats BS. In fact banning those ships are making them even more "OP." Because those lucky few who have them can make the choice of using them. There is a player who seems to only play Gremmy. Now I'm not attacking that fact: that's his choice. And I did see replays and he is very good in it. Heck: I would be as well when I did 4000 Imperator matches. Or in any other ship for that matter. So does me or that player of anyone specializing in 1 ship and thus being excellent in it give WG and the community reason to whine "it's OP!!! Because he can do well in it!!!" "Oh, but a ship is being considered "OP" when it has certain characteristics." Back to Imp: yes it has a great sigma, the turrets are situated very well and it has very few superstructures. But that's about it! And try that turret situation in a retreat combat situation... Boy does it backfire then. It also has the worst reload time. Yes dmg on superstructures isn't that high. Granted. But it eats citadels and is taking fires like a charm. Now it's weaknesses: when there's a CV around I'm begging for fighter support. Even with auto drops it's a plain sucker against aircraft. I'll need to make an appointment for next week Friday before the rudder is starting to shift to the right direction. The turrets are gowdaweful slow: I've been murdered by a Kirov who was happily sailing in circles on close range, just waiting for his torps to reload and I couldn't do anything cause the turrets didn't keep up and the secondaries have a major cosmetic role on that ship. So why is Imperator being considered OP and f.e. Yamato not? Yama can overmatch every bow ingame. Even it's own. No other ship can do that. tl;dr: I still don't get it, objectively. All my points are subjective as well. So I'll stick to my question in my thread...

Q to the community and WG. I tried the "search function" but it couldn't comprehend "OP ships." You might probably know once in a while I am posting a silly question. So here's 1 again. Wg won't be selling Impregnator, Granny, K-R and mayby some more prem ships because it's considered "OP." Now I don't want to whine "gimme a granny or I will cry..." I am only curious to the reasoning behind that. I did buy Imp when it was on sale. And yes: it's a very dangerous though and hard shooting ship in my xp. Granted: it has 12 guns and the 1,2, 3 turrets are amazing when turning. T2T BB combat is nothing too hard. But OP?? I wouldn't say that. First Imp is a real sucker against CV's. Second: when being overtiered in BB combat it quickly runs into trouble. Heck I think twice before engaging a New York, Kongo or Konig in it. Third: Imp turns like a brick: it is IMO a worse torpedo catchr than Yamato is. Fouth: my "big mouth" is being shut up when being focussed out: a captain's diner meal between 2 salvo's is really getting to me sometimes. Don't want to put up a wall of txt. But the so called "OP" ships really do have their weaknesses IMO. So my plain question is: why??

Neither do we get a (very minor) event about that in the Netherlands... Furthermore: it was not as if the reunification for the Germanies went unnoticed in the rest of Europe or the world for that matter. Also last time I checked part of my paid taxes are going to the EU and indirectly to Germany in the aftermatch of the Wall (with which I don't have any problem for that matter). Also we had a EU-wide event about quatorze Juilliet (IIRC). But like I said: I'm not seeking a sh*tstorm here. I just don't understand the ratio.

I'm curious. Did anyone managed to get this working? Tried to change the script like mentioned but niente pasta for me. Did OC save the original one. I'd love to play on other servers once in a while.

Wow! My thread has been necro-ed! Which is a good thing actually. Because I still don't get it why a ship is being considered OP... All I could find out it's a matter of opinion and stats. Opinion is nothing to be discussed. I might find something good and someone else not. Stats? Could it be that specific ships are being played very well? Funny: Kamikaze (R) and Belfast are being mentioned here. I found out those 2 specific ships form excellent counters to each other... Treated dozens of smoke pewpewing Belfast with fresh fish in Kamikaze. Vv got spotted with radar quite often.

Here's a replay from a for me quite typical Shimakaze match. It's absolutely nothing spectacular. I ended second last of the list but still have the feeling I played an important role in the outcome: concentrated on scouting and mainly used torp spreads for area denial and "you never know what you might hit." No flags, no prem cons (I only used smoke once) and profit of 121k. Like I said: nothing out of the ordinary but decent match with decent profit,. Oh, I see the spotting and fire dmg are blurred.
