Why is it that I'm having a Scottish accent in my head when I'm reading your threads?? To me it seems like a selling method as well. Never found Kutuzov OP. Not finding any ship OP for that matter but I don't want to restart that debate again. WG did pull the Kamikaze (clones) from the store though.

Intentional gimping of (non-premium ship) BASE XP for the Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya marathon?
Ferry_25 replied to AnEvilJoke's topic in General Discussion
AFAIK base xp isn't influenced by flags, cammo's or premium ships. For 1600 base XP I need a good game. Not really a spectacular epic battle of legends. I did it in Monarch. T8 is very well suited because you're nearly always outtiered. Damaging higher tier ships yields more xp (and credits). And the smaller the ship the higher the yield. My advice: try to "click and forget" about the mission and just play on and do your best like always. You'll see that you've suddenly will make it. The more "obsessed" you are during a fight for that mission, the more chance of making mistakes. Looking at that match where you were very close. My guess it was a lost match. Unless you were toptier I'd say that should have sufficed in a voctory match for 1600 BXP. -
OK. Now I'm having a "Mr Spock moment" here about this ship.... (raising 1 eyebrow....)

Oh there you hit it exactly in the sweet spot. I wouldn't have the slightest clue. IMO it'll promote one of the most hideous aspects in this game, camping, even more. Furthermore, like Jingles perfectly mentioned: smoking a BB is called a thing which is, almost as hideously as camping, lacking in this game: teamwork.... If you manage to cloak your BB so he can shoot a couple of "free salvo's" that's a extreme advantage for your team and the chance of winning. And both sides can do that. DD's (as being the main chain smokers) are evenly-ish distributed with a +/-1 tolerance in MM. Furthermore I find it criminal to nerf the really only advantage the pewpewpingpongball boats (pppbb) are having. Now it might be clear by now I don't like the RN cruisers but as a matter of fact: i think it's one of the greatest insults to nuture a cruiserline like that. And yes I've been given the LTP and "it's a good line once you get to know it" card. But IMO it's utter BS a cruiser isn't able to fire HE. Yes they are fast, hardly slow down in turns (easy to adapt to when aiming at them) but in no other cruiserline I'm feeling so vulnerable. at least I know I have a chance of getting away with it when I get the TLC from the BB's. Only not in the pppbb. a hit is a guaranteed cit. If not a oneshot kill. I was really looking forward to the line. Heck I purchased 10 portslots for my RN cruiser collection.... But when it was released I immediately canceled the whole thing. FFS take your loss and admit defeat WG: make them act like normal cruisers: equip with HE, normalize the AP, give them some armor to work with, normalize the repair and I'll be looking at the line seriously. Don't give one of the most important naval countries this slap in the face in this otherwise wonderful game. And add insult to injury nerf their only way of protection. They are hiding behind rocks enough as it is now. (another camping problem card I'm pulling here). Coming to think of it and like lup3s mentioned: I think this whole smoke thing is utter crap. No not the end of the game but what does it do to improve the game in the whole?? I agree the smoke pewpewing is annoying. Making insmoke ships completely blind is too much. Blowing away smoke with guns was a terrible idea in the first place. My suggestion for this matter is give smoke shooting ships a nerf in dispersion: it's "simulated" they can't see anything and are relying on allied info. So ingame: let them see and target ships but let the guns behave like the target isn't targeted. Eeer: I'll assume you know what I mean. (-; Shoot wall of txt again... Hope you can endure my "philosophical attacks" people...

And where is it on the ship??? I'm dying to get home and start looking for that other potential Koala.
-
Awesome!! Of course with my loud mouth on the Forum now I'm feeling forced to buy T61 when it's coming out. Looked it up on the net. The ships have been built by Wilton Fijenoord, RDM and de Schelde Vlissingen. Didn't know that last shipyard though. Really looking forward to this very good step in the right direction!

Getting more and more the hang of it. Looking at my stats I'm getting on par with the server averages. Climbing from deep red numbers. It is a mid phase ship. Keep a low-ish profile in the opening phases and try to "creep" as close as reasonably possible to the reds. Don't be shy to use AP on close range. Maybe no citadel harvester but relieving the red from 25k HP will do perfectly fine. It can be a cruiser serial killer but it'll stand it's ground in a close BB knife fight. But quickly getting into trouble when being outtiered. Also the secondaries are nothing to scoffle about. And keep "shallow" angles: sharp "bow in" tanking doesn't work: when your nose is overmatched, the citadel is childishly easy to reach. With a shallow angle at least that chance is better. And it cannot deal with plunging fire.

Are there MORE!?? I only know the one in the mast. Tell me please!

Nice to see wows is coming to an end once more. Being cynical of course. I don't get the fuss at all. The range increase isn't that huge and usually the smoke pewpewers are well beyind those ranges. As a matter of fact I hardly understand why people keep clinging on that smoke shooting anyway. Given some practise it's so easy to delete them in their own cloud. Smokes are also the absolute torpedo magnets in the games. So I'd say if your only trick is to lay stationary in a cloud in order to get some free shots you're completely incompetent. And "oh! It's the END of the British cruiserline." I'm not getting either. When did they begin in the first place??

Are you kidding me?! It has a purple Koala on board. That alone is reason enough for me never even consider selling it. Didn't play it too often but I find the moving smoke cloud hilarious!
-
I'd like to see that as well OP. For me the most annoying sound is when you take a citadel hit. Always get the feeling an entire cholera colony is going to the toilet at the same time...

Not more or less than other times. I do have more "non loaders" myself lately though.

The Great Epidemics in World of Warships history

OP. You're just late by a few days... If Oslo would have gotten your article sooner they'd given you the Nobel price for medicine. -
Clan battle prime time, who else can't play?
Ferry_25 replied to SoggyMuffin's topic in General Discussion
Ok people. There are lot of things I don't get from WG. Like not selling the stuff in highest demand for one thing. But I do get they want to get off with caution here. Not wanting to rush into a disaster for their product. My input is to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and see how it'll develop out. I can't help to react to Amon_ITA.... When I was pre scholar age (assuming your kid is in the 6-12 years of age range) it was to bed at 1900. Not 1 minute later. Only major execption was when Battle Star Galactica was on. And even then I really had to be good and obedient that day. Maybe an advice on how to raise kids will strike 2 birds with 1 stone in your case? You're talking about "babies." I'm hoping to God you're not actually putting a suckling to bed at 2200.... -
Chain 2, mission 1 was a real beach for me to accomplish!! Was smack in the middle of a horrible losing spree. 2 and 3 I finished in 3 or 4 games after that. I like the missions: they are doable but not too easy. I really hope WG will continue with mission reqs like this. I really don't miss the "get 5 arsonist awards in a regular RN cruiser in 10 battles, survive them, win and be at the top 2 in all of them" like missions.

Why do you all people run into your teammate's torps?
Ferry_25 replied to wtfzazo's question in Q&A Section
Oh I love your post OP! Wonderful to see people, even Tuccy fall for this!! And your epic reply which is rewarded with a -24 appreciation!! Stuff of legend. I bet not even Skybuck could overdo this! On a serious note though: the enemy torpedo's never seem to hit me! FFS! I have to run into something, don't I?? And don't you judge my hobby. -
Oh but I do the missions! THey are very interesting indeed. And most of them very doable as well. I'm afraid I'll never be able to make the clear sky missions f.e. But that's no issue for me. I'm only not sure if I'll grind the captain or not. I've got a lot of 15 and above pointers on my "important" IJN ships already

Good point. Now the question is: how do we counter him? I'm forwarding the suggestion to send in the Marines and steal his Saipan from port!
-
No shame in that OP. Blogis has wrecked me several times as well! On topic: it depends on the MM. In a T5 match the side which has the Saipan will win. There's absolutely no AA answer to T9 planes. The Saipan player will quickly suffer from RSI because of the damage harvesting. Also the non Saipan side needs to have an super abled CV player in order to give somewhat of a counter. Too bad those players are extremely rare and the Saipan players very often know what they are doing. In a T9 match I don't fear Saipan at all. Specced nearly all my ships as much AA as possible. I happily invite the planes to the shredder in Missouri f.e.

Bit par on topic: am I the only one not that interested in the captain? Only trick he has is a special flag, extra con charges on First blood and a monster heal with Kraken. Am I correct in that? I wouldn't have a clue on which ship to put it. And if I know my luck well I'm betting those first bloods/ krakens will not happen on that particular ship....
-
Maybe you don't know OP: a reset is given per hit (primary, secondary or torp). Regardless if it's dealing damage or not. It's the shot that counts not the damage. And the ship in the cap needs to "charge up" cap points before you can reset it. It's one of those missions which I advice you to accept and forget it. And one day you'll suddenly have it. I had a mission to get 10 resets in a BB a couple of months ago. Did it in Tirpitz: selected a ship with secondaries while fighting another 1 with primaries. The first ventured into a cap and without even realising it, I completed that mission.

What the bloody F?!! Not judging anyone with his/ her own prefs. But this really made my chin drop on my desk here. And not (only) because of that amount of games in Black Swan. But RPF seems such a waste on T1...

Is this an attempt to revive wowp? I must admit: from what I saw on YT it has raised an eyebrow. Though I can see on their forum 2.0 has a lot of opposition as well. I asked @ulcusrodens about it. As an active wows player/ Forumate with stats i can only have particular dreams about in ships I'm still a bit confused. What I am as a matter of fact am a bit "anxious" about is I'll suck extremely hard in it. I've overcome the absolute noob sucker of all suckers in ships and proudly wearing the title "noob" in ships now. I tried tanks but it was a complete disaster. Managed to drive like 500m and got obliterated in the 2nd minute time every time without having the slightest clue what I did wrong. FFS: driving around "boom" your tracks are hit and I can't move anymore. Hello: I still have 1 (the first prime number above 0 (and that from the dyscalcia player of wows!!)) left. Why the hell can't I move anymore?! Even it'd be in circles?! Even I figured out a moving target is always harder to hit than a stationary. Those of you who disagree with that fact in wows when being ruddered raise your hand. And I mean no offense to ulcus. He (she?) said now you might win or lose without knowing why. Sorry but seen it, been there, done it in tanks. Took me long enough to figure out why I lost/ won in ships. I'm not feeling like re-inventing the wheel again. Though I'd love to play good plane dogfight games... In my commodore Amiga times I devoured Wings.... heck: I'd shoot my friendlies (PvE alltime then for that matter) 1 shot from death so I could have more kills on my recored....

Lol. Einstein also said: there are 2 factors in the cosmos. 1 the endlessness of the universe. 2 the stupidity of human kind. And I'm not sure about the first." I don't see that much difference in weekends or other times. As a rule of thumb I won't start a match when the base is below 10K. Too much of a risk I'm being put into a team of potatoes against a high ace team. Happened too much to trust that's a 50-50 chance of being vv. And I loath the steamroll matches anyway. So in either case there's no point for me to start 1. Above that the odds seem to be much more favorable: the potatoes and aces far more evenly distributed. Also I keep in mind I mostly seem to qualify as a human being as well. So I can derp up beyond comprehension (even my own). That all is why I love to play in the lower tiers from time to time. Where there is such a lovely chaos of the sky being obscured by shells and you'll have to keep as close an eye on your friendly DD's as on the enemies.' @gautrek Please chin up. "losing the will to live with this game" FFS: it's a bloody video game. Like Donkey Kong, Tetris or Mario Bros. It's not the essential part of your life! I do agree a good tutorial would come in handy. Even if it's a "captain bad advice" about the most prevalent mistakes ingame: BB's either defending the map borders or charging in like maniacs, cruisers who head off on their yolo solo suicide courses, DD's who either don't scout or getting obsessed by the cap, CV's who's only goal is to waste an entire drop on a ship which is "doomed" anyway and happily revealing the locations of their DD's when their planes are being chased, players who still haven't got rid of their tracks, thinking wows is like world of Dinkey toys, players who think they are playing Duke Nukem with a ship around them a.s.o.

The Spotter plane. My suggestion is a way to recall the spotterplane. I don't care if that'll waste my charge. But I've been in hundreds of situations in which at first the plane was helping me a lot but the situation quickly changed and it was more hindering me than helping. On close to mid range it's a complete annoyance to have an ET POV of the target....
