Just met @Boris_MNE on Loop. He was the enemy this time and played with my own fellow clan member (still severely punishing him for that! ). Was in fact an awesome match. Very close and exciting. Boris nailed me by sending 75 torps from his planes and making me flood while my DCP was on cooldown. Montana finished me off. We won this nail biter but it could have been as easily the other way around.

Also excellent AP and very good torp range. They are only equaled by Mutsuki T4T. Murmansk isn't the best ship in the opening phase but shines in mid and end phase. So that'll make you a primary target in the beginning if you rush in too quickly. I'm not saying "go borderhumping" but keep a bit of a low profile in the beginning and let the battle develop until you fully jump into action.

No I don't. There are roughly 2 types of unskilled players: the want's and the don't wants. The former is eligible to learn and improve (I try to qualify myself in that group) and the latter refuses to learn and keep derping around. My goal is to address the want's so perhaps the overall skill level can increase somewhat. I think we'd all agree it'll already be a huge improvement when seeing non-border hugging HE German BB's once in every 20 battles instead of now being a reason to post here on the Forum to share the miracle.... We'll just have to suffer through the wont's. There's nothing do be done about that group. In fact I'm always amazed how these people are alive and actually know how to breath....

Yes that's an old trick from CV's. Though it's usually the other way around: make a torp strike first because of the oh so dreaded flooding and lit the target up after DCP wears off. I'm trying to let the flooding tick on for a few seconds before DCP-ing so I can quench the fires in 1 hit. And flooding dmg is also fully repairable. Though it might take 2 repairs to get the HP back. Like already suggested: 1 (or 2 and even 3) fires won't kill you right away. It's highly depending on the situation when to DCP. Even when in full cover you might want to let the fire burn if there's a DD threat. Better to suffer a full fire then a perma flooding. and no there is no "golden rule" Sometimes (in my case often) you'll make a mistake and DCP too soon. It's part of being a human being.

Thanks OP, for this very well argumented rant. All the very good reasons and motivations why the ship should be nerfed. I'm impressed... My advice is introspection. If you can't bring down an Atlanta who has smoke, something's wrong there.

Yeah I politely asked him to stop posting those vids. That one out of 10.000 games in which going through the channel in the beginning is actually working is ruining the rest of that 10000 matches...

I'm actually at a loss with these "chat bans." What is it that people do/ don't to receive them? I never got one. Neither am I applying for it. But I don't get it. I found myself writing things which won't necessarily pass an ethical board. Got a deserved karma punch but never a chat ban. Heck I'd have understood if I had gotten a chat ban in those occasions because retrospectively I wasn't proud of what I said. Does anyone know where the discrepancy is lying??

My guess is it'll come back in the future. Discount on free XP conversion pops up every now and then. I find it way too expensive though.

No they pop up randomly. Haven't had 1 in ages now. I don't mind filling them in. But I do so when I've cooled down after a session making it as unbiased as possible.

Well a quick win could be if WG would introduce a "tips at start" option, which can be turned off of course for experienced players. Let tips pop up at start like: "costs are set, so go kick @ss," "don't always put out 1 fire at once" or "go check the Forum for good ideas" etc Good think the video tutorials are already quite easily to be found. But making a few tutorial missions is very important. Something like 10 missions which get some harder every level. Heck throw in some xp/ credit earning for 5 attempts per lvl. So new players can get some rudimentary knack of the game.

I was starting to study your stats. Then I saw you bought Murmansk. Excellent choice OP. I think you're going to like this ship. Looking at your profile you're doing well: diversifying so you'll get to know all shiptypes. That's very important, even if you don't like a particular ship type you'll still know their weaknesses and strong points. When you grind your way up, in the future you might want to consider Atago, Lo Yang or Tirpitz. Don't buy them now just yet: jumping into high tier premiums has a very high risk of severe disappointment. As I found out the hard way in the past. But there ships are excellent captain trainers and credit netters too. Also check on the YouTube channels to get info about the ships. Keep in mind though that the movies you're seeing are unicum matches the producers played. A premium ship is not guaranteed to always win/ have epic battles. F.e. having a premium account myself I still managed to squeeze a credit loss with Tirpitz. Which I think is quite an achievement by itself...

As I was presuming. My battles were on neighbours and Estuary. Bot can be either long range snipe fests or close quarters brawls. In my case it was LR. Did get a cyclone on the last one but it was too late for the match to get close. Only option was to charge in alone in a fleet of 4 or 5 ships. And since I'm mostly qualifying as a human being I made that mistake about 75 times in the past already so I doubted it'd be a good idea.

Just bought GC. Did two battles in it so that's way too early to draw my conclusions but so far I'm not being over impressed. Lots of shatters, bounces and overpens. And the "excellent dispersion." Is that reserved to particular GC's? Cause my shells seem to spread out all over the place making the KM BB's look like laser accurate guns. But again: only 2 matches so far. Both were long range snipe battles. Perhaps the long range AP is getting "wonky" with this boat.

OP, you might want to hang on to Molotov just yet. Don't give up after one go. It is a blast to play. Just think as a Soldier of the People's Red Army would think (opposed on thinking that way or not, leaving that in the middle). A Red Army ship doesn't retreat. So it has no use of side or rear armor. But the nose is made from Stalinium. It needs to get to the front fast. So you won't suffer retina detachment when accelerating: wish a DD all the best of luck trying to run away from you when you've zeroed in on him. It must also spread the word or Socialism. So those guns... They are glorious. F*cking T9 guns on a T6 cruiser?! You'll ruin everyones' life with it. And look at it in port in detail: you'll clearly see Kirov's Aft section is welded to the main frame.

The stats discussion aside. I'm getting curious to this ship and perhaps I'll purchase it. My question is: how does it handle agains T7's? (maybe this has already been answere but I didn't see it in all the stat discussions. (-;).

ok. I confess. I am that Tirpitz player. Was border hugging in one game, suddenly broke through the line and found myself in the match with OP. I only was trying to get back to my own match!
