I always keep a very keen eye on my minimap. Enlarged it to the second largest dimension. WG should fix 1 bug in this game though: those islands jumping in front of my ship!!! Remove them!

Reduce exp/credits multiplier for conqueror
Ferry_25 replied to tappo01's topic in General Discussion
Well this is in fact exactly my point. Conqueror can be easily taken down. Focus fire isn't healthy for any ship but C suffers the most. Monster heal or not. Also very funny are the "copy cats" People in Montana's, Yamato's or Kurfursts who are starting to spam HE as well... Not saying HE shooting is a bad idea perse: especially on long range bow tank duels. -
Good point @tmGrunty I'm not so much of a smoke pewpewer anyway. But with SI I'd have an extra charge of radar on the high tier. SE... Meh, when I'm caught I get shot to pieces in seconds anyway so that extra HP will only delay the inevetable for 2 seconds more. Oh for the record: I'm not being caught that often. So I usually end up full health or as a submarine. That's also the reason I'm hesitant taking AR on a DD. Torpedo load time is already maxed down by skill/ upgrades. I kind of had the same "problem" with Shimakaze. I took expert marksman for the last 2 points. So at least I could somehow bite back in a knife fight.

Like repeately said I'm not a fan neither a hater. I can understand the reasoning behind the map build. It's only absolutely aweful in the Tears map. I'm finding myself more and more tempting to just take my loss and head straight to the next game when this one is on.

Reduce exp/credits multiplier for conqueror

I didn't read the whole thread. But what is the freaking beef against Conqueror? Apart from that once in a gazillion optimal situations from Failmu? Yes it has awesome HE. But that's about it. Just focus down a Conqueror and you'll be fine. Oh, that will take team effort, now doesn't it? Well, until the player base will figure that one out: just let me and the C fans harvest our witherers please? Just go and play your ships. Or join the side when you can't beat it. -
U2 my friend @Boris_MNE . I know I've "attacked" CV's a lot. Know that wasn't personal ever. It's the whole design that is screwed up. Somehow I nearly always get in matches with CV players who don't understand anything about ships, planes, scouting. I'm praying for RNG to get into a match, just once. With you or @xXx_Blogis_xXx Just once. And i know I'd be absolutely safe from any air strike whatsoever....

I'm at a lost now. Completely. Just won 3 battles in ranked. All 3 which I thought would have been a tragic loss. Pushed in hard and aggressively with my absolute favorite ship (Queen of the North), farmed a freaking load of damage and got wrecked while contesting the caps (our DD's failed all the times).... Yet it seems it was enough to pull the victories.... Seems the reds were even more insane than my own team was...
-
Yeah it is. But the lvl of insanity in Rank is beyond what I believed was possible for mankind. Just reported my whole team. I accepted the challenge but now I'm signing off. What an utter nightmare BS POS this has become...
-
I'd say Hindenburg as well. Most allround ship of your pickings and I have the feeling it can at least take some sort of punch when you make a mistake. IMO Moskva is more situational.
-
Gneis is for me a wonderful ship. It has the Tirpitz/ Bismarck guns. Granted: only 6 of them. For me it's working perfectly when secondary specced. Come real close to the reds, hug them to death. It's a mid to late game phase shiner IMO. Have patience, let the game play out and shoot/ secondary/ torp those red sods to their glorious next game in seconds. If you master Gneisenau the rest of the German BB line will be a walk in the parc and a true enjoyment to play...
-
Really? Major cause of "death" being burned down... LMAO!!! In Tirpitz?! No I haven't won every game with this beauty. But being burned down is the least of my worries... Burn me MF! It'll only kick in my AR the more. Come to me sweetheart. Come very close to me..... Edit: challenge accepted, captain....

It's for me the absolute most frustrating aspect of this entire game. The Pen without damage. And the "explanations" I've been getting is fueling the frustration even more. You penned a AA module (a machine gun, being hit by a shell the size of a small car), you penetrated a "non vital part" of the ship, you penetrated the torpedo belt, hence doing no dmg at all. I'm frantically trying to wrap my brains around that. I get it: I either miss, bounce, shatter or overpen a target and a penetration doesn't necessarily mean a citadel. But can anyone explain me how a pen doesn't yield damage? Even when hitting a "non vital part" of the ship, FFS I'd deserve the half dmg of an overpenetration??? And hitting that "machine gun" should at least do some damage?? Why don't I see the "AA knocked down" "ribbon" in the process??? My sincere advice is to get rid of this BS in game altogether. "oh, you penetrated the torpedo belt, so why are you whining, Ferry?" Well why do I get an almost guaranteed flooding when I manage to take a torp hit on that so called "torpedo protection belt?" If it can sallow a AP penetration without damage how on Earth can a puny torpedo cause a flood, with full dmg (granted dmg reduced factor) can?
-
My good friend. If I wouldn't know better I'd say you're challenging me.... Are you?? Please say yes, That'd bring me sending my Queen of the North out again and shoot the living daylights out of any red facing me. Even you.... (-;

Lol. I'm actually begging for teammates with this lvl of intelligence. I've come to hate ranked and I'm afraid I won't ever play it again. And yes don't even start. I know I can't win every game and frankly I don't care. Even a lost but awesome match is giving me a huge thrill. But throwing it away like people don't even have any clue of what a "ship" is about? And I'm saying it with pain in my heart. The T8 req is sounding like a dream for me. Finally I got to take out my absolute favorite ship: Tirpitz. Don't care what people say if Tirpitz is not the optimal BB for ranked. For me it is. I can make this beauty function in any situation.

or perhaps the results get batched up in the server and it'll take some time to get through.

Musashi will cost 92... nope! 750k freePex !
Ferry_25 replied to PseudoMi's topic in General Discussion
Ah good to know. Won't have priority at all for me. Don't like Yamato gameplay so a nerfed Yamato will be even less fun I guess. -
pls nerf the op he the game is only about spamming he at everything and fires are too easy to set
Ferry_25 replied to livin_eater's topic in General Discussion
Wow! That's not been up for a while now!! IIRC at least 3 weeks.... -
Haven't read the entire thread OP so maybe I'm repeating things already written. Looking at your stats I see you have very little experience in the different ships and lines. Your only focus on BB"s is the German line. If you'd play US BB's you'd find out they have higher shell arcs. Hence the "shooting through mountain" phenomenon is actually shooting over them. It is possible to wreck an Amagi in a Tirpitz. You need to get close and that's the challenge: he can kite away and still have 60% fire power and it's a quick ship. Also his accuracy is much better. German BB's have the worst accuracy so a long range brawl is in his advantage. Not yours. On close range it's a different story: focus the secondaries and let your guns blaze. Don't shoot the waterline because Amagi has a turtleback. But so do you. On close range it's neigh impossible to recieve a citadel. (same goes for Bismarck). Regarding the DD's. Yes they have a high rate of fire but the shells aren't that damaging. Always shoot back. Yes it's a b!tch to hit them but if you hit them you'll do is very hard. Don't mind the whining about how unfair it is on the Forum when a BB hits a DD hard. All they want is to rush you, fill your hull with torps without you able to retaliate. The "disappearing" can have explanations: they smoke up and they disappear, run behind an island or they are at the egde of their max gun range firing at you. Gunrange = detectability when firing. So if you chase them they can fire at max range, hit the throttle and just disappear before you can react.

A very noob question about captain skills training
Ferry_25 replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's question in Newcomer Questions
Answers are given OP. I'd like to add what @wilkatis_LV was saying. The only real dumb question is the one you're not asking. -
What to actually do at the start of a battle?
Ferry_25 replied to NothingButTheRain's topic in Newcomers' Section
The opening phase is IMO the most difficult for BB's... And I don't have 1 straight "ever green" answer for that. I always try to position myself where I feel is the optimal balance between being a threat and the least possible risk. I don't want to find myself overextended and thus being focussed out to oblivion in no time and too far from the action where I can't do anything. Also patience is a virtue. BB's are the slowest ships in speed and reload. So you can take your time seeing how the match is developing. Let your DD's and CV's scout the situation and keep reacting to that. Don't shoot at the first target that's moving in the opening all the times: on long range you'll only be gambling with false dice and the reds know where you are. It also might draw very unwanted attention. Your spawn location is also very important. Some maps have a ridiculous spread in the spawn. When spawning at the outside I am tempted to head to the middle. vv I steam up in the middle forward and pick a corner later. Also turn your guns beforehand to your intended shooting direction. Last but not least: yes you move the slowest but it isn't always necessary to go full speed. When on a optimal threat-risk spot it can be perfectly ok to lay still for a while and keep raining those shells towards them. Again: keep track of the development. A good spot now can be a death trap later. Minimap awareness I think is the most important for a BB. Also use your "detected" sign to your advantage. If you've strayed off too much and the sign flashes on, it means incoming torps until proven otherwise. So keep changing that speed and course. But now I'm straying off topic and start to talk about mid and end phase gameplay. -
Captian skills. I often find I'd like to change only 1 skill. IMO it'd be great if I could pay doubloons to "remove" one skill and spend the points on the other instead of resetting a captain completely.

Lol. I literately lost my way to Z 52 today. Winrate wise this is one of the worst ships I'm having. Still I can't stop muself loving this ship to death. In the overly vast majority of my matches I ended in the top 5. I took your advice to heart: not play too aggresively and take the ruddershift module. I wasn't allowed to win much but oh SJ! How much fun did I have in this boat. Scored 3 dev strikes in 1 match today... A rare win....
-
Like I said: it's me, not the ship. For me? It's fast. yeah. Fast to eat citadels from everywhere. Stealthy? Compared to my GroBer Kurfurst it's 10% as stealthy as GK, very accurate guns! Yes my GC guns are about 0,0000001% as accurate on close range as my German BB's are at max range, spotter plane that is. This is the first premium ship I'm actually seriously considering of selling. I absolutely hate this piece of garbage. Heck I'd rather play Lepramore or the RN cruiserline for eternity than ever bother to start this POS....
