Very nice combat mission! Though impossible to achieve. I realise todays session wasn't the most epic one I ever had but still. A true mystery indeed.... Please believe me on my word I had 8 kills in this, granted, lousy session.
-
Lol. Must be a glitch then. To my defense: I had a drink when I saw it.
-
Did it again. Same result... Am I getting psychotic here now?

Logged out and in. Yet the mystery is adding up...

red, white, blue. The true naval, Dutch, colors please.

Granted I wouldn't say WG is perfect. But I never ever saw anything like this ever.... If you don't believe me on my kill count, how would someone explain why I didn't have at least 2 wins in the progress?? WTF WG?! It's not like I'm waking up screaming if I don't achieve a mission but at least give me (pars pro toto for all players) a shot....

Is daily combat mission bugged?!?!
Ferry_25 replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Sorry OP. I opened the same topic. Yes I had a lousy session. However still 2 wins (out of 9, that bad) and around 9 kills. 0% progress on this "mission." All well above T3. Like it says: a winter mystery. -
Clan "mercenaries." I realize WG will be kicking their "lab employees" to R&D the next season(s) of CW and the first season, which was marvelous and very much thanks for that, and maybe I'm kicking in open doors. But still: better 100 times suggested too much than once too less. Would it be possible to make "alliances" with other clans? Limit this number of course to, say, 5. We quite regular had trouble to find enough players wanting to play CW. and I've heard that same problem form other clans as well. We want it to be a free clan: as long as you contribute in any way you're welcome. And give the possibility to exchange clan members in the "alliance group" to join a CW match with another clan. Give the oil yield of that player to his (/ her...) own clan and give 10% of the winpoints to his own clan and 90 to the "host clan." No losing points to the own clan. Reason: otherwise a clan would never allow a member to merc. The main reason of my argument: IMO one of the goals of wows (and other titles) is bring people together. The main focus here should be to get a better player regardless of background. And I think this will stimulate that: clans will be able to play more CW matches, allied clans are in itself a binding factor and players can learn "tricks" from their allies, thus improving their play. And yes I can already hear the "but people will change clans and let their friends down" argument. Maybe that's a good thing: if a player is feeling more at home in our clan or vv: that'll only be a win-win. He will only perform better that way. And the parting clan has an open slot to find a player more suited for them...

Premium shop gifts. In my role as deputy in our wonderful clan I figured it would be a good idea to give a round of santa containers to our members. It was a freaking nightmare to click the unsernames one by one. Suggestion: could it please be possible to make a "more than 1 player option" in sending gifts? Wouldn't be that much of a deal I figure and it'd yield only more orders for WG I think. Oh, and they did win wonderful prizes which all come to handy very much!

First of everything: I don't advocate P2W in any way possible. Just won the New Mexico in the campaign with my just won Duke of York. Oh those coop matches are so fun to play once in a while! Being a pathological collector I of course already had the NM. It's one of my favorite ships. I also won the "snowy" cammo. To my surprise it is yielding the exact same benefit as the "regular" premium cammo I purchased with doubloons (aka hard earned RL cash). Now I don't want to sound ungrateful or pathetic but am I being that unreasonable for feeling a bit ripped off now? IMO the consensus is nobody is having any trouble with wallet warriors to get an economical benefit for investing in this wonderful game. I'm not talking about combat benefits here. Just economical. What's the incentive to buy premium cammo's in economical regard over waiting to win it one day? I frankly think this is unfair. Yes, give the F2P players benefits as well. I fully agree with that. But FFS: I paid RL cash for a cammo which is giving the exact eco benefit as the one I just gotten for free... IMO that's unfair.

thanks. I'll check it out. Off topic: am I the only one associating your username with an ICBM?

Tears Of The Desert Map - Rework
Ferry_25 replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Didn't have that much problems in the first place. Except for epicenter for which this map I find the least suiting. And I still do looking at the new lay out. One vast improvement would be the spawn position. I don't like if I'm feeling USS Voyager having to sail 75k LY before I meet someone. -
it sure looks beautiful. First estimate on tactical lvl... Not cheering yet. Worried about those 2 moonshape island area. Imo we have enough deathtrap cap maps (once in, the only way out is through your port).

Ah, i didn't know that about operations. Thanks for the heads up. Might come in handy one day. Remember free XP is always a calculation of base xp. So i'd recommend you to play the ship in which you're best in. Stuff that one up with as much relevant cammo and signals as you can and play your utmost best, like you'd do in a regular match. If you're too focused in "I must have XP!" you'll lose focus of the match too much. That goes for the missions as well for that matter. What I did when I pushed for Missouri was taking out Tirpitz a lot. I won the free xp cammo on it. T is my favorite ship in wows and I feel really comfortable playing it. As nuts as it might sound, T8 was/ is for me a sweet spot to harvest XP. Most of the times I'll be out tiered. So the more xp (and credit) income for me. There are really not much T10 boats that scare me in Tirpitz. The CV's, the Khaba and nowadays I guess the Conqueror (wasn't there back then). 15k free xp matches weren't that uncommon (in 100% xp daily wins of course).

Premium cammo's. Feeling a bit ripped off here
Ferry_25 replied to Ferry_25's topic in General Discussion
That's a great idea as well. Still my whole point is I think hardly anyone would mind to give some extra economical advantage, be it xp/ credits for helping this game running. Equal combat benefits of course. And I don't mind the F2P-ers to be able to win cammo's with slightly less (all within reason of course) eco bonuses. -

Qs about aerial torpedoes
Ferry_25 replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in Newcomers' Section
hush!! Now don't say that darnit!!!! I recommend you practicing manual drops in coop first OP. Not much of a CV player myself but I found out those few matches I did with them, it's quite a skill to master. Oh and I wouldn't call you a bad player. You have IMO better stats than the players with your battle count. One of whom being me... -
Indeed like adviced: just hold on for now. If you jump into said tier range premiums now, you'll be very disappointed and be a handicap for your teammates. I wouldn't even recommend a low tier premium in your stage. I know what I'm talking about. Mentioned it on other posts: I bought Atago way to soon. When I was still at the T4-5 range. Almost made me quit this game in frustration. It was until I got to Myoko and Mogami when i started to appreciate it. now it is one of my favorite premiums. Just take your time OP in your "starting phase." Good thing you found the Forum. I've learned the vast majority of my skills here. Don't hesitate to ask questions (use the search function first of course). Consensus is: the only one stupid, dumb question is the one not asked. One of my main beginners mistakes was thinking the game would get easier the higher the tier: because those ships are stronger!! I can't stress the oppositness of that thought enough. To quite Flammu: the "no-ness of that idea cannot even be expressed." Should you want to spend cash and thus help out this game I'd recommend you go for premium account. That'll make life a bit easier in xp grind and credits. If you build up a stock of credits, it's easier to move up the lane. But again: start low, go slow.

I hugely enjoyed the KM DD line. Picked it up quite recently-ish and grinded my way to the T10. I liked it, that is till Z-46... My stats are perfectly reflecting my game experience in it. Yes I know: you can't win every match and there's always "that ship." The 46 was a real struggle for me, though I did feel I played quite decent in it. Except I just couldn't win in it. Now my stats for 52 are looking very, very grim... Yeah I know: only 3 matches but I'm already afraid to take it out anymore. Now I'm sure I'm being a pussy here. But what "in general" is the secret of the 52?? I'm a torpedo orientated DD player. I dare say I know to play it's role in scouting and when or when not to push caps. Average gun boater: by far any top ace hotshot knife fighter, but I know how to bite back. Please help me people! https://wows-numbers.com/player/530807562,Ferry_25/

Perhaps around Valentine's day. Usually there are missions and nice deals as well.

Don't get me wrong: getting caught is happening in the vast minority of my matches. Of course I anticipate all the times and I'm not blindly rushing in every circle I see on the map at first sight. Always adapting to the situation. Enough matches where I did "nothing" untill the 10th minute. Like when I'm the only scout and the "detected" sign for the reds can only be explained by me. Torping is rather pointless then and smoke pewpewing too: cause I was the spotter in the first place... But I'm by far the best player around so I'm bound to get outwitted by a better one (the best teachers ever), or when the second neuron of the red CV players has his daily pulse and realizes planes can move... And because I try to operate at the edge of the sword they usually jump massively on me in those cases. I even can't call it a fight but rather euthanasia.

I know AR is a very powerful skill. I use it on nearly every non DD I have. It's just, in my case, I'd have the theoretical reload time of 0 seconds when using AR. Very often I don't survive the encounter when I derp up and get caught. Most of my DD matches are very wet or unscratched... So AR isn't that much of a help for me. But that's all my POV. Not saying you or I are being wrong in anything.

Survivability Expert? Better than its reputation! (Numbercrunching)
Ferry_25 replied to Jagod's topic in Cruisers
Thank for your analysis OP. +1 for the effort from me. I never seriously considered SE on any ship. Yes perhaps the high tier Russian DD's. But I find the playstyle so tediously boring: mach 5 zigzag pewpewing. Not really my idea of fun. As far as the rest of the DD's conserned: SE would delay my perish by 2 or 3 seconds. When I get caught I usually get the entire red TLC on my face... Indeed the fire argument. But the duration of a fire has been buffed for non BB's and with fire prevention skill/ flags/ upgrades that shouldn't be that much of a problem. Also fire dmg is fully healable. So I might give it a thought on high tier cruisers with heals... -
New Russian Premium ship confirmed?!
