Meh... Feeling a bit reluctant there: driving the same car as my wife uses to do groceries? -

Thanks. Mine are a bit overdue. Parallel on topic: which sports car do you guys recommend me to buy from the latest salary raise from WG? -

Excuse me OP. Did you know you have a smear of paint on your face? -
They can put that in the EULA but they (and all other software builders for that matter) have no right to invade my PC. So if I were to put my entire eeerr... music collection in the wows dir that's perfectly my right. If I could manage to repaint a flag in port with "bite me WG!!" AFAIK I can do that too. As long as the info remains on my PC. Should I put a replay on YT with that they can invoke copyright strike. Regarding the aim indicator. I could program that as well. It'd be useless though because for it to work I'd need server info. So stating I can't change my client in the EULA holds no legal ground. And perhaps or probably they have "checkware" but the only way to sanction me is to ban me. That's IIRC in the EULA as well. For the record: I have no intention of altering my client or whatever I said: that's way above my paygrade and I have no interest in altering things even if I could.

OP: first: welcome in wows and on the Forum. Second: I love your asking for advice to death. Seeing your stats I'd say you're not doing half bad at all. You diversify well. My advice is to add more BB and CV experience in wows. But by all means: keep your questions coming. You'll find out the only true stupid question you can make is the one you don't ask... Edit: to prove my point, you're getting answers by players who forgot more about wows than I'll ever manage to learn. I truly hope to see you in combat very soon. In my case: on my side. But always honored to have a good fight with one of my Forum mates. You are a very promising player OP.

Yeah. This. IIRC there is no way of having Haruna captain without the ship. Parallel on topic: she is my favorite character in the ARP series... "Shocky...." (spelling)

Can anybody give me 1 reason why i should not leave this game?
Ferry_25 replied to WingedHussar_Adler's topic in General Discussion
in that case. Though my heart is bleeding. I respect your choice. Thank you for all your input and (indirect) advice. I'll hold the line as, I might claim, a veteran in wows and on the Forum, long as I can or want to. Namaste, bro/ sis. -

You have got to be kidding me... Seeing your stats. And those of OP. I think you both are players of legend. And toxic: I always highly appreciated your input on the Forum. I like to see this game as being directly derived from the Walking Dead... The zombies don't discriminate. They will eat every moron. And both zombies and morons are equally spread across the line. IMO Shards is one of the most absolute trollish maps in this game. Please OP: don't give up because a loss on Shards. No matter the configuration/ ship spread. This map is per definition a flip of the coin. Nothing more, nothing less. And @G01ngToxicCommand0 I sincerely hope you'll change your mind one day. I got this unnerving feeling a lot of the "veterans" are quitting. With their hearts bleeding. Otherwise you'd not have responded on this thread. It makes me sick to my stomach I haven't seen @T_H_0_R, @TheCinC, @txtspeak, @FaceFisted, @Drunken_Jedi, @Babykim, @Architekton for so long, to name a few hard core enemies for 20 minutes, friends for life on this Forum! -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Ferry_25 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
First time in Chung Mu: deliberately spreading torps from second line (first line held by a DD) towards a red BB. Don't have a screen shot to back it up. But boy, did that feel unnatural. Yet hit the intended target hard! But still: if those weren't DWT I'd be pink now. And I'm so afraid I'll forget the DWT aspect when playing Lo Yang or Anshan.... I'm afraid it'll get me pink one day. But this was for me a greatest gaming achievement today. -
Wait a second... For a minute I actually believed I understand CV play. In the, granted, extremely few matches I played a CV I was exactly doing this. I didn't touch a CV since I accidentally TK-ed a friendly cruiser or BB (not sure about that anymore, since it has been at least 1.5 year ago), trying to protect him from such an overextended DD. I meant to drop a torp strike on said DD and at the point of no return, my friendly ship made an impossible turn into my strike. I frantically smashed my abort key but it was a millisecond too late. Landed a spread on my ally, him/ her shielding the DD off perfectly, which I otherwise would have gotten for sure. He/ she (?) flooded out to death, taking me with him by reflection dmg. Got me double pink for 1 offense. Since then I never touched a CV ever again. I was and am still so sick of being punished twice for 1 offense. I take all the blame of TK-ing my friendly. Sure the situation was extraordinary but a TK is and will be my responsibility, even if I tried everything to abort the drop. But the fact I was dubbed a double TK because I got killed as well by reflected damage.... It has lamed me for ever taking out a CV again. Actually a shame... Looking at my own stats, in the few CV matches I played I actually did very well statwise. That one incident made my lose my self confidence in playing a CV. I know WG is looking into the matter. To be frank: I'll never touch a CV again until there is an "emergency abort" function available. AKA: let the planes drop their payloads harmlessly for everyone, return to the carrier and try again next time.

Respect to you to have played CBT OP. I came into wows at the end of open B. I can tell you this. Wows back than is more related to Tetris than Wows is now compared to that time. Ships, seas, caps and port. That's it. IMO, not to mock you because you found out this game sooner than I did, you heavily lack experience. My sincere advice; forget everything you thought you knew from the CBT phase, treat yourself as a complete new player who has never played this before, diversify in different classes and nations. And come back with your feedback after your 2000th battle. To give you some answer: the torpedo spam has been a challenge since I started this game. I learned it the hard way. WASD hack. The HE spam: same thing. When to put out fires or not. Lack of AA: I consider all my non Texas ships to be void of AA until I reach T7. Furthermore: if an able CV player wants your head, he/ she will get it. That's a simplistic way of saying the CV class still doesn't have a clear role in this game. As a matter of fact I should have included CV being a [edited]-up class now with my comparison with Open B... Citadels? still a role of the dice and keep your fingers crossed. Tl:dr. With all respect of being a CBT player. You highly lack game experience. You love this game? Practice more and come back with your feedback after your 2000th match in Random.

I always find this an interesting subject. Now my opinion is completely based on my own POV, assumptions and what I heard through the "grapevine." First of all: where there are games, there are cheats. That's for me a standing fact. Furthermore: correct me where I'm wrong. I don't have much insight in programming or hacking. AFAIK the principle of this game is the client-vs server build up. Simplistically said, the way I see it: our clients (everything in our wows folder on the relevant drive) have all the fancy boats, ports and graphics/ sounds etc. Shortly put: the esthetics. In a match each client is calling in on the main server (the programs from WG on their servers). The match is played "there." The server is feeding info to all the clients in the match. So only the server "knows everything." (position etc). Our clients doesn't know anything, except what the server is feeding us. To put it short: it's a matter of info exchange. AFAIK the legal part: me and you have downloaded our clients on our computers. That entitles us to do with that in ever way we see fit. If I can somehow manage to paint all my ships turquoise with yellow and green dots, with a crew on it which gives the finger to all opponents. That's my completely right. Because only I can see that (in essence the different cammo mods available). And if I could somehow program my client into predicting the courses and speeds or where to aim, that's legally my right as well. Perhaps WG has "CIA software" which can read and check my PC. It doesn't matter legally: they have no right to intrude my computer. But as I already said: said info is coming from the server. AFAIK the cheats which are supposedly available is "hacking" into the server. "reading" the enemy's info and feed it to your client. Now that's going the other way around; I (and all other client users) aren't legally supposed to intrude the computers of WG as well. I think some mods do tap off server's info. But they are approved by WG. So there's no issue there. F.e. If I want to have, say, 1 million doubloons on my account. There are, simplistically saying, 2 ways: either I go to the shop, rape my creditcard and order it. A.k.a. feeding info from my client to the server. Or I could hack into the WG server and cut-copy-paste that amount on my account. The former being legal. The latter illegal, thus being a cheat/ hack. "Duh" Now as much as I love wows and lots of people I presume with me. This game isn't that important to risk legal prosecution to hack into the servers of WG for some silly advantage. Having searched "here and there" I saw some blokes offering cheats for aiming, incoming shell trajectories or torpedo courses. As I see it: those are mere programs running parallel to your client info (inlog and password required). They'll run together with your client program on the server when both activated. And I think it's a picking for WG to flush out those programs on their own servers. They don't need to have that kind of "CIA programs" to flush those people out. Giving that I thing WG's policy against cheaters is very forgiving. 3 strikes and you're out. Tl:dr Yes I'm convinced there are cheaters. It's a computer game, so there will be cheaters. Per def. I think the "problem" is negligible. In 99,99% of the cases you just bumped into a better player.

Looking at your stats you're doing an amazing job in your 8's OP. Seeing your example battle I'd say tierwise the spread is very even. Your team only had the radar disadvantage. MM could have given your side the Missouri. But otherwise I don't really see the problem. IMO the only T8 which are in severe trouble are the silver cruisers. I think they should be given access to a heal. In your example there weren't T8 cruisers but I think you know what I mean. The BB's and Dd's on 8 can fairly compete in 10 matches. I can't say anything about CV's in that regard though.
-
OP. I'd advice you to learn more about game mechanics. Simply put: there is a circle around every ship. Enemies outside it can't see you. On the line or inside can. And v.v. Lot of DD's and even some cruisers have a bigger torp range than that circle.

Proposal for increasing quality of gameplay
Ferry_25 replied to Boris_MNE's topic in General Discussion
I think the intention of your proposal is amazing and I really like it. my suggestion would be to slightly ease the demands. Now, for me, it seems like an "elite group only" challenge. also I'd recommend making the demands tier depending. I don't see how a South Carolina will be able to harvest 3M potential f.e. -
Indeed. Though I must admit the missions have gotten much improvement over time. They still are IMO too luck depending. I'd highly advise WG to make the missions more "simplistic" yet skill based. Gain X amount of (free)XP, earn X amount of credits, do X amount of damage. And X can be a challenging number. But that way people will throw in their skills and play at their best. Thus creating a better random game environment. Even the win/ top 3 challenges are very frustrating. When relevant I always end up in the top 3 of the losing side or in the bottom 9 of the winning... A shoot down X amount of planes is the best guarantee, even over picking def AA on a cruiser not to face a CV. A.s.o. For the record: I'm not implying it should be easy. Not at all. I'm suggesting to change the missions to a challenge rather than a wear out luck depending nightmare. The ARP Nachi still burning in my memories. I feel so sorry for the actual fans who would have loved to have this ship in their collection because they had to destroy 20 Russian ships (IIRC). Making it so that nobody dared playing a Russian ship due to over focus. tl:dr. Please WG. Make challenging missions which are doable by skill. Eliminate the luck factor completely. Or as much as possible.

Thanks OP. And to the OP of WOT as well.

Proposal for increasing quality of gameplay
Ferry_25 replied to Boris_MNE's topic in General Discussion
Boris. I must re-read your post later. (alcohol an being in the train distraction). But from what I'm reading so far, this seems to be the most brilliant post I've seen in a long time.. -
curious: after I played myself "burn out." To win Vampire. Which I played only once. I decided to stop wearing myself out for a free prem vessel don't get me wrong. I highly appreciate the chance from WG to achieve it and I don't want to sound ungrateful. But for me it's no longer worth the effort. am I the only one?

good point OP. As a matter of fact I've always failed to see what any disability or disease has to do with a video game. sure: call me the most lousy bad incompetent player of planet Earth. But wishing me diseases of disabilities? I don't understand. As a matter of fact I know players with diseases and/ or disabilities are active in wows. And I admire their drive and motivation to play as good as they can. With all the passion possible. not to condone anything though. It is the internet. And fact is people tempt to project their own incompetence and self hatred towards others. It has made me grow hair on my teeth and making me take the choice not to give a FF about comments like that. still highly appreciate your thread. +1 from me.

Maybe. I mean fully stealth specced. And TBH: I don't acknowledge both as ships.... Halfcow being a island lover. Doing nothing 99% of the battle time and pop up when all planets align to get his/ her monster dmg. And Khaba as a one trick pony: sail at M5 and pewpewing his pathetic guns. Needing the same planet alignment to make it work. That 1 to 3 YT epic battles in it. I never saw that ship shine when caught in a corner... Same as the 99% battles in which I faced the demi-cow (and all inflatable rafts below that). I've gave up grinding the Rusian DD line because of the boring pewpewing. And never gave the RN cuiser boat line a serious shot. A cruiser without HE? What's next? A RN BB which shines in HE? (oh wait...). Looking forward to the RN DD line!!! A DD line whithout torpedo's...

OK. Am I being a pr*** by not wanting that arrogant face in my port ever? I don't like it. I don't really like twitch. So sending a nuke to that rock with the "twitch logo" which will fall into my port with Mr Arrogant on board will actually make my day. I'll be happy to re-buy that ship. tl:dr. Put it on my ship. Throw it overboard into my propeller and make everyone happy!

I think you're putting the finger on one of the most insane game mechanics in this game OP. Thanks for that. I know: it's not a historical accurate game. Lots of realism but it's an arcade game nevertherless. Like that or don't. That's not the point. In this game setting my opnion is a BB should never ever outspot a cruiser. no matter the tier difference. Your examples are stuff of legend. No matter how small the difference. It shouldn't be possible. As a matter of fact: i dare the community to name 1 cruiser which outspots a DD. Regardless of tier difference. (within the +/- 2 difference which we are all facing in randoms). I really think if this quick win is fixed it'll be a huge step in the right direction to make cruisers be more significant in this game. tl;dr: BB's should never outspot a CA. A CA should never outspot a DD. Regarding CV's... I feel general consensus is they shouldn't be here in the current game meta in the first place.
-
And it gets better OP: planes will see you through the same amount of rock. AA is also "magically" shooting right through them... Did I mention sonar is of biblical power? That doesn't care for rocks either. Edit 1: now I'm not claiming to be a super unicum with my stats to get that straight. Yours however doesn't make me worry that much to carry out your "threat." Edit 2: it's working both ways... So why not take advantage from it and get better by the fact? It'll save you and us a lot of whining.

Hey Bro/ sis (?). Welcome. You're English seems promising enough. Hope to see you in battle soon! Not, by any means at all to draw the history card. So by far I will never ever want to mention the "watergeuzen," Den Briel, Leiden or the Spanish Armada. I'd only be honored to face a Spanish player in a "fair" fight all the time...
