For me Molotov all the way. Those T9 guns and the rear of the other ship welded to Molotov is making me love this ship to death. Somehow I can't make Italian ships to function. I think I'm the absolute champion is missing targets. I splashed wet countless ships with Duca and JC. And when I do miraculously hit something it's a shatter/ bounce/ pen with no dam in 90% of the cases. So: heavily biased, I'd say both ships have optimal armor to fuse AP shells, regardless what angle but at least M has awesome guns to return the favor. Both of them are deceivingly fast.

Lol. Your words mean a lot for me. The thing is, to quote Jingles, there are a handful of players who know how to properly play a CV. The rest of which I see are utterly bad in doing so: putting their planes all around the bordermap, attacking the most heavy AA ship in that match, letting Torp/ bomber squads fly by within 20 m of their fighters no matter how much you ping, are damage whores and don't scout anything. Could go forever with examples. And that's the group who aren't AFK in the first place. I have nothing personal against CV players. I'm more than sick of being on the "trash CV player's side" over and over again while this ship has by far the greatest impact in the whole game. I met @xXx_Blogis_xXx playing a in some matches, of course against me, a couple of times and he/ she (?) wrecked me in a marvelous way while my CV was drooling, windowlicking and rolling his/ her face on the keyboard. Not wanting to draw the stat card so much, and realizing mine suck as well, those of OP doesn't reassure me at all. So every windowlicker who wants to play CV: please don't. That's my message. Also, assuming the POV the CV has the biggest impact on the game it's so thrilling to be the enemy's First Blood victim with all your flags, cammo and premium consumables strapped on, getting an "unsuccessful battle" just because RNG-us decides to spawn you on the most isolated place on the map in which grouping with your fleet in time is impossible in this universe. Anyways: if my opinion is hurting you I couldn't care less. That's your choice. And no I'm not feeling fun-ruined when someone is shooting at me. Heck I got 1 shot full health y'day because I screwed up. That was a LMAO moment for me. Sorry for the wall of txt. To close up: I'm curious to the coming remake of CV's... Heck I might pick it up myself. Because I qualify myself even below said trash group regarding CV play. So indeed: I did take my own advice and haven't touched them sor over a year and a half. I don't want to ruin other players' fun with my incompetence. And where does my incompetence come from? I hear you: "Ferry, you need to practice more. You only have 80 CV battles under your belt, and statwise it isn't even that freaking horrible (no stuff of legend by far, but there is potential there)." That's because I find the gameplay so horrifically dull and stupid. Heck I'll play a proper RTS or a flight simulator anytime over this amateur mouse clicking horror anytime. I don't have the slightest feeling I'm playing Wows in this abominations. edit: TL:DR. Please don't play CV. I wrote my arguments why not.

Still grinding OP (I always wait for the "hype" to wear off in a new line) and at T6 now. So far I like what I see. Impressions for me thus far are the French BB's aren't brawlers neither snipers. Something in between I make them shine in much of the cases.

Perhaps it's mentioned already. Didn't read the whole threat: there is a mission going on OP. In which you need to harvest German Japanese ships in a Soviet T6 or higher ship, for a special Soviet captain. I think people don't care about winning/ losing the mission of the week. They're there to harvest those ships. Again I plea to WG to stop with this BS missions "destroy x specific ships" I'm not asking for a easy challenge. Why not make it "destroy x ships in this or that ship?" How freaking hard can it be?

Though I won't vent my frustration as OP did I'm done with ranked now. Yeah I know: I've been done dozens of times. But seeing my stats: 49 battles and still in R11? Sure I'm aware you can't win them all. But this? No, I deem this impossible for me. Good luck with the hunt my friends. I'm out. (with Rank that is).

Parallel on topic. I actually miss S.S. I really loved his bored, inner mouth speaking. I get it: the franchise with WG has ended with S.S. But "John Doe?" Come on! You can do better than that! Why not make a contest with a replacement from Steven Seagal? OC nothing directly connecting to S.S.'s portrait. But I'd love to have a replacement bad tempered, bad a** captain on my Missouri, walking around the deck in port. (I'm to dump to design a figure but I'm happy to pass this suggestion).

Using the LR as well. My DD playstyle is torp style anyway. That's why I don't particularly shine in the Soviet line. But if you're really good in DD play and more all-round, the SR torps are a very viable option. In my case I learned to make the sssslllooooowwwww travel speed of the LR torps to my advantage. My "trick?" keep the enemy (usually BB) spotted in torp vision for "ages." Until his/ her nerves break down or he/ she'll "forget about you" then you spread. Making the torps arrive at a time they don't expect it anymore. Not 100% guaranteed success but nothing is in this game.

I know. But be quiet about it please. Don't say anything. I wouldn't want to have this on the internet for everybody to see..... Shhhh!
-
My strong advice: don't play CV's at all. Never ever. Go either play WoWp or do a RTS game. But stop ruining peoples fun in this otherwise IMO very nice game.

Download Aslain. Tons of good mods. Especially "don't show dogtags" will do the trick for you. As it did for me. I can understand people like them. I don't give a FF about it. And yes I "designed" one myself. How can I not take the Dutch Lion on a blue background?

Well. When my medication is wearing off I seriously consider the "upgrade"for Yueyang.... What's not to like about this? *"No, NO!!! Don't bring me to the room with the soft walls again!!!!!! I want kess smoke duration, longer emission time, longer reload of weapons!!!!"*
-
Didn't read them all. After the 4th or 5th I already draw the conclusion of them being no brainers. With the emphasis on "no."

I see an option in the settings: "alternative mouse controls" in the control panel. Maybe that's the trick?

How would YOU design U-boat gameplay?

Name does ring a bell indeed. It took me quite a long time to figure out how to deal with the DD's: surface and gun them down! -

All contra arguments have been mentioned by now. The only exception I can think of is an Operation in which there are NPC submarines. Perhaps it isn't too difficult to program depth charges for our ships as a consumable. DD's having the fastest reload. Also, parallel on topic, I can vividly remember a submarine simulator game on my C64 or Amiga (yeah. I'm that ancient). It was exceptionally detailed. Played in the Pacific. 2 modes: travel and encounter. When an encounter happened you could chose to take it or back off. Points were gained by tonnage sunk. You had a limited amount (quite plenty though) of torpedo's, weather conditions were active (good to poor visibility) and even 1 or 2 charges of "fake destruction debris." You could let some debris float to the surface, trying to fool the AI you'd been sunk by depth charges. Graphically it wasn't much of course but oh man, I played it for hours at a time! -
Did you know the same effect is at play with AA build ships? That's the almost 100% guarantee you won't meet a CV. Only way to be sure is to team up with a CV playing friend.
-
Perhaps it's in the vid (I can't see it now because crap connection here): one more thing. You don't have to take your own speed into consideration with leading. Only the target's speed. The aim is always as if you are stationary.

Same here. Thought I made a mistake.

I liked USSR cruiserline a lot. Once you get the knack of Buddyony the rest will follow well: the next ships have the same-isch styles IMO. I like to play them from a pure Soviet POV: - a Red Army soldier doesn't flee, so side armor is unnecessary. (broadside never good idea but complete taboo for the cruisers) - the Red Army soldier needs good guns: let's stuff the ships as fully as possible with guns an make them hard hitting and pinpoint accurate - He needs to be on the front fast: beware. The cruisers are deceivingly fast. Found myself overextended by that too often - When charging the Soviet soldier needs good protection on the nose: that's pretty much covered - When overextended, which will happen. Don't bother to flee. Just charge in and go down in a gulf of flames: you won't survive the turn anyway.Though short ranged, the torps are hard hitting. Donskoys torps only have 8 km range so it's more useful in combat. Oh, and your first torpedo rush with your Moskva will guaranteed be your last one (like I found out the hard way).

Enormous difference in winrate between Iowa and Missouri
Ferry_25 replied to Floofz's topic in General Discussion
Looking @ your stats I'd say you're doing very well in BB's. Your WR numbers overall are special though: either it's very good or very bad. Hardly anything middled out. Other than sheer bad luck I can't explain your WR gap in said ships. M and I can't be that much different. As for the overall stats for T9: IMO those numbers are biased. Iowa and Izumo are the first T9 BB's in the game. The others came much later. In the beginning there were much fewer excellent players, like me as a great example. At least now I have somewhat of a clue on which section of the keyboard I should roll my face in any situation.... -
Zooming out of the topic in a global way. What's stopping humanity to channel our aggression in a silly computer game? Shoot the living daylights at each other in whatever game? Maybe even using very "strong terms" in chat. But doing this all in a virtual environment from which we have a good laugh at the end of it. Instead of the RL crap. Or am I going too deep now?

I think I did read somewhere, sometime it is possible to move an account for once in case of migration. But please don't quote me on that because I'm not sure. For me it's never been really clear why there must be 4 different servers in the first place. Lag issues perhaps? When I watch to streamers they never seem to have (much) connection issues, playing on NA or RU...

And did you get Kraken and Solo Warrior??
-
I hear that over and over, hence my firm conclusion it's me. Not the ship. In my case it is shining in epic proportions to miss salvo's. The shells beautifully arrange themselves in the water around the target so frustrating often I even rage quit one time. Also the ship on this citadel is too small for me....
