    Roast the previous poster's stats

Sorry for dwindling off topic here but I have to respond to this. 1: my Z52 skills are unparalleled. I mean come on! You must agree it takes huge amount of skill to get that winrate? And: mu shrink has agreed to giving me 1 hour per week, guided leave from the closed ward... Completely phobic, delusional hysteria from that ship. I'm afraid to ever take it out again.... Guess I will one day and put me on the mercy of the Forum, asking what the heck I'm doing wrong. Regarding K'berg. I grinded that ship from T=0. In an era I hardly understood anything about the game mechanics. Now I'm perfectly aware of those: the broadside armor is the THICKEST! So show it to them red ones!

You totally got me there OP. Though I love France my heart is beating for you. Croatia, go get that Weltmeisterschaft!

    Weirdo Wednesday?

Wait what? That bad, even if I'm not playing??

Indeed it was. Won it last week. Classifying as an OCD collector I also make it a point to at least once have played all ships I won. As I posted elsewhere I actually liked the ship. Excellent DD hunter. Wow! Even with your WG perk those stats are wonderful! And thanks for nothing: WG-A team clan? Now I'm having that A-team song stuck in my head...

Lol! I understand why you're not playing Grozovoi anymore! That winrate is epic. Here are mine. You can hire me for speciul education in Z-52! https://wows-numbers.com/player/530807562,Ferry_25/

    Kidd or Lo Yang

Excellent choice OP. This one is also very well in Ranked (if it's T8 OC. Duh.) Congrats.
  7. Your summary is for me spot on. This ship is for me the biggest RNG troll of all. I'm doing ok-ish in it and nearly finished the grind. Somehow I'm getting a blast from it. I can't give one specific advice for it. In some situations I out-tank a Kurry on others I get a 30k punch on my nose while being angled perfectly. In others I get away with broadsiding completely to a close Yamato. Also games where I'm immune to fire or catch one even from missed HE shells (due to the water to my paint friction I suppose). Shooting tennisballs with a nuclear warhead in them. Either they bounce/ shatter/ pen without dam or they hit so gruesomely hard I'm amazed by it. My tactic in Richelieu: be on the front line, point shoot, sacrifice all your sheep to RNG. I either shine or suck. There is practically no in between.

    Stuck on loading screen

Of course you've installed the latest driver versions, did run the integrity check on your client and you're not using mods. I've had non loaders ages ago, running mods myself. But when I did have them a clean re-install always did the trick. That'd be my advice to you as well. Perhaps a few patches ago the server hamster got distracted by a nice companion and gave you some minor corrupt info, which escalated over the patches.
  9. I'm also on the rinse and repeat strategy. Not in an overly rush to win this captain. IIRC Yamamoto has been growing old in his barracks for over a year (?) now. Just didn't know where to put him. Didn't care for the fireworks, first bloods aren't that common for me, neither are Krakens. But I decided to dedicate him on my seal clubber Kamikaze (R): faster turret traverse so I'm only 1/4 an idiot in knife fights and the more protection of modules seemed a good idea in Kami. Regarding Halsey; I wouldn't have a clue on which ship to put him either. So I'm slowly grinding and in no rush.
  10. IIRC some of the Hasly (Sorry if I spelled that wrong) can be achieved with CW. But I agree: the primary focus with CW is the team effort. I guess that's why there are no achievements to be won in CW. So not to let the ego trip take over. Parallel on topic: I really like the missions nowadays. Some are tough, granted but I'm so happy to see WG has got rid of the "destroy 20 Russian cruisers" crap missions. I'm only preliminary seeing my shrink and cardiologist for the "win 6 battles" for Indi though.... Haven't looked at the specifics but somehow I'm afraid this will be a Random mission only....
  11. I do too believe you're ranting OP. It's all a matter of positioning and minimap awareness. In a BB it's your job to protect your cruisers and v.v. If you get caught with your pants down alone against 4 HE spamming behind the rock shooting cruisers, you've gone the wrong way a long time ago. How do I know that? Because I've been that stupid way too often. Regarding the citadel farming. Especially on higher tiers cruiser players often learned their lessen and present you the optimal angle to have the highest chance of bouncing off your AP. Let go of the "mega tons of dmg urge" and target their superstructures instead. 10 k volleys are perfectly doable that way. And also, an advice my own clan members have managed to drill into my thick skull: have patience. Don't shoot right away at anything that moves observe your target for some time. Especially when you're still in stealth. It's ok to wait a few seconds to learn his (her) patterns. One more trick while I'm at it: the 1 gun salvo, followed by the rest trick. Lots of cruisers I presume have the "incoming" perk. I don't use them on cruisers. In my case I'm using 100% brain capacity here. My first neuron has a perma connection to my second one in this case: detected = incoming until proven otherwise. So when my detected flares up I immediately start to roll my face over the keyboard. Back to the trick: only shoot 1 gun at the cruiser target. in 99% of the cases with incoming he'll have the same evasive maneuver: he either turns away, turn in or slows down. Look at what he's doing, adjust our aim to that and fire the rest. That'll increase your black ribbon stash quite a bit. Hidden trick for cruisers here: try not to evade in the same way repeatedly. Edit: this goes in my case especially for Tirpitz. For some reason I can't make Warspite to function. yes that's me, not the ship. I'm only frantically looking what part of me it is...

More radars? Nerfed radars? L2P? Radar counters?

Actually I find this idea brilliant. In this game and it's mechanics I thing radar is BS for BB's (and DD's for that matter). Let the cruisers play that role. I own Missouri but rarely have good use of the radar. If I could slot a spotter plane I'd probably do that. But if I'd have a radar jammer on a BB I'd be even more at the front line. Only question would be: would it jam all radars, including friendly ones? And a radar jammer would be a "realism killer." Don't start: this game has little to do with realism. But some parts do. And AFAIK there isn't such thing as a radar jammer IRL. (correct me if I'm wrong: why would they go through such lengths to design stealth planes/ ships in the first place?) Good discussion OP. Sorry, I didn't read the whole thread. For me radar has never been that big of an issue in Randoms. To say never I'd be exaggerating but I rarely get caught with my pants down due to radar playing DD. For me it's a matter of adapting. Also who told much of the DD players it's imperative to cap right at the start of a match? Yes I made that mistake as well but quickly unlearned that. In the opening phase I think scouting is far more important. It's better to wreck an enemy than to farm points from a cap. The "capping wins game" dogma I find to be too much overrated. How many times did I see DD's rush into a cap right at the start only to be punched right back to port? Also it's my experience MM seems to have adapted and quite equal-ish distribute the radar capacity on both sides lately. Note: MY experience. Also what I'm seeing the radar ships are cowering behind islands, waiting for that 1 glory moment to light up DD's but being effectively useless most of the match. That might work in competitive but not in Randoms (often). I've given the thought of giving radar a "module status" like torpedo tubes or primary guns. Being able to temporarily or permanently destroy them. But on second thought: that might even cause more static gameplay than we already have. "Oh, it can be destroyed, now I'm definitely keep hiding behind my island!" So for me no. Either remove it whole from the game or keep it this way. My advice: tread more carefully in a high prevalence radar match with a DD. Always assume the radars are coming to you and keep planning an escape route. "Sniff" them out, so the BB's can oneshoot them for you. Capping is important, yes but not over-prioritize the cap.

    Rituals before WoWs session

Agreed. It's more comfortable to vomit with something in your stomach. My keyboard is bringing this issue up every meeting though....

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]

Played it today. 1 match so doesn't say much about performance for me yet. But I found it not too bad. Wonderful DD hunter! First match new ship MM (tin foil hat on) gave me exactly that. 4 or 5 DD's....

I missed the opportunity to take a screen shot so I hope you trust my word on it. I won Krasny Krym in a super today. All POV's aside about this ship: I'm so happy to finally have won one! I'll never ever challenge a gift to me. Thanks WG!
  16. Met today. I really screwed up and feeling sick to my stomach still. I over commited to a mission and forgot the prime objective. I'm so, so sorry @El2aZeR
  17. Ferry_25

    thanks WG

My best guess is you're referring to Belgium kicked Brazil from the WC. As your dumb Northern Neighbor I still say: well done! You kicked @ss!!!!! I'm a Rode Duivel (Red Devil (side name of their team)) fan from now on! I'd go berserk (even as a non soccer fan) if you guys would snatch the cup. Man! That'd be SO awesome. Just send the Louis XIV fanboys back home, make it to the finals and send them home.

    Indianapolis Marathon (01.06. - 16.07.)

I sadly missed some missions. Due to lack of time or bad luck. But I calculated I'm still in the race to achieve it. I must however accomplish all upcoming missions. I am trembling for the "win 6 battles" upcoming mission. I miserably failed in the "win+ ribbon" mission.... Either I won without enough ribbons or I lost with 10 ribbons. Now It wouldn't be the end of my world if I don't win Indi but I've come this far. I'm asking you to keep your fingers crossed for me my friends. But somehow I feel my chance to win a match will drop with 90% when I "must" do it.... And of course: my sincere congratulations for the players who already won it! Edit: I'm at 15 now. Please don't tell me I missed something! Didn't complete the current one yet.

    New Cadet

Welcome OP! Good to see you get your socks wet! I tried to dry my socks in WOT but I sucked beyond the realm of sucking in that game. Made me look like a top ace player in Wow's (which I'm not) compared to that insult to retardation which I managed to pull... Don't worry too much with the console version of wows. Even Flammu (a true top ace player) doesn't have the slightest clue on how this game could be put on a console.... I can't wrap my brains around it either. Not to scare you: you will learn them all with practice and reading here at the Forum but there are way to many controls on the keyboard in wows. Anyway: I hope you'll enjoy the floating, hyper steroid tanks! Feel free to ask questions (remember the search option!) on the Forum. There's no such thing as a dumb question. Except the one you don't ask. Regarding your questions: 1 angling and different ammo types. My second neuron started to fire way too late before I figured that out 2 that's very personal POV dependent. For me it was at T8 3 answered: 20 seconds. Which can seem like an eternity in lots of situations!! 4 I would say no. My general impression of the Rashian sgips is that they have very powerful advantages but also very weak disadvantages (f.e. a cruiser has very hard hitting, optimal shell arc guns. But a broadside cruiser = a dead cruiser from T1 to 10). Battleship Nicolai is deemed OP (which I still vehemently disagree upon. See how "OP" it is when it's getting the attention of a CV but that's another debate). But in every line there are ships considered being very powerful and weak. 5 I'm from Holland. And now we finally getting rid of the PTSD from the Viking raids.... 6 That's a tough one. I highly recommend this site: http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc It highly depends on the particular ship. The most "allround" captain skills I can think of are: Priority Target, Adrenaline Rush and Concealment Expert. For CV (carrier) Aircraft Servicing expert perhaps. But I don't advice you to play CV now. I know: have highly criticized CV play (it pains me some people took that personally. That was never my intention). Fact is: the CV play will have a major change coming in the foreseeable future. It'd be a shame if you'd just get the hang of it and suddenly you must relearn the whole thing over. I'd advice you to stick to destroyers, cruisers and battleships for now. Bottom line: inform yourself here on the Forum, compare your playstyle and pick the captain skills you feel best with.

    Undo my decission

Looking at your stats I'd say you're not doing half bad in Gneisenau, OP. In wows in general I might add. You only played 4 matches in said ships. My advice is to just hold on for some longer. Bismarck isn't that different in playstyle than Gneis is. Regardless what build you're using. In fact: it's more comfortable in all builds: longer secondary range with sec build and 1 more main gun in tank build. NC however has only 1 thing in common with Colorado; it's a BB. That's it. That's where all the comparison ends. Suddenly you have speed, a completely different armor scheme and way different behaving guns. It took me a long time to get used to it but once you have the hang of NC, the rest will follow up pretty smoothly. The thing with T8 is you're getting into a lot of T10 battles. This is for reasons highly debated elsewhere so I won't start that here. You have to learn to take advantage from that. You can't be the "complete all the way up to the front Rambo" anymore. Stay a hair back from the main frontline. NOT saying: hug the bordermaps like a lot of BB idiots do but not overextend too quickly. WG can't "reset your account to a "previous lvl." They made that perfectly clear. My advice for you is to take your best ship out (in the 6-7 range), strap it with as much credit flags cammo's as you have. Take regular consumables for the time being (except for damcom; that will pay itself back) and grind credits for a while. Now obviously I don't have insight of your financials nor is that any of my business. However ideally you could consider buying some premium time. F.e. in a weekend when you really feel like playing you could take a "weekend pass" in the shop. And should you be able to afford it I'd recommend Murmansk and/ or Scharnhorst as premium vessels. It's very hard to make a loss in credits in premium ships. All in the thought train: "even if I want to stay F2P I can contribute something to the game which isn't going to financially ruin me." With said recommendations you'd be able to kick back your credit score to a healthy level again in not too overly much effort. Seeing your play lvl credits shouldn't be a major issue for you. Last advice: always keep your credit balance at 5 million-ish minimal to always be able to compensate for losing streaks.

    Kidd or Lo Yang

If the shopping frenzy is real I'd say: take them both.... I don't have Kidd but I do have Lo Yang. From my limited POV and what I saw I'd lean to LY in this one, 9. That 2 torp launchers are freaking nice. Granted LY doesn't have by far the AA protection. But from where I'm standing: why would a DD need AA in the first place? Other than being caught totally alone, with an ace CV player who wants your d**k and focuses you completely out I manage to dodge the torp and bomb planes pretty well. dodge the torps and give a very hard brake for the bombers. Once committed they still have to reach you for the drop and stopping right there and then saved me a lot of dmg (in my delusion). tl;dr: I don't see that much usefulness to anti CV power in DD's.

    Try your luck Supercontainers

Like being posted. It's something given for free. Everybody gets the chance to win containers. Wallet warriors or FTP-ers. I think the rewards are nice. And the SC are a lottery. And what's in a container is a lottery as well. WG never made a secret out of that. And yes the lootboxes are under fire but this I don't qualify as lootboxes. Like I said: you win them by just playing. And OC I'd like to have a SC on every drop with a ship. But that doesn't work that way. Parallel on topic I'd love to move the motion of a "open all at once" possibility for the containers. Like many others I like to spare them up and open them if only to cheer me after a horrendous losing streak. I've seen that crane and the long time to pop the container open more than enough.

    Collectors club

I'm at 215 now. Last premium I bought was miss-ship Ceasario. So still in the "top league." However: the lack of response from WG makes me kind of giving up hope for them to exploit the niche of a collector's club. Don't ask me to wrap my 2 neurons around it: collector's need to buy port slots. And I hardly know any company which squanders the opportunity to make profit....
  24. Not my achievement, because I didn't participate but from my clanmates in CW yesterday. So all the credits go to them. My post is to honor and share my proud of being a member of NED.
