No idea Scimitar. I'm going through exactly the same thing. Since about 2 or 3 weeks there seems to be a "winning ban" on my account. I know I can't win always but I've dropped nearly 1.5% in this time and counting. Yeah, I make my share of mistakes. Sure. But I've seem to have become a terrible player overnight.... I actually offered the opposing team to change sides because I got sick of the campers over and over and over again.... In fact I'm getting a bit tired of Wow's altogether.

Murmansk or Molotov - Which is the best credit farmer?

Wow! Where do I have to sign for that?! In my case it's 99,9% in T7-8 matches (Mur-Mol resp).... -

Mur is a bit less situation depending than Mol. Mol has, I cannot even say armor cause that would be a joke, the premium paint as main citadel protection. But it's an extreme fun ship to play. Mur has a bit better protection. My point: Mol is more "extreme" Simply put: you'll have very good or very bad games. Reflecting creditwise. -

Ph3lan: while you're at it. Would it be possible to make "please visit the forum" tip @ start-up as well? I've learned the most here at the forum. Most players don't go there. The more people taking a peek here, the better they will become IMO. -
IMO from T8+ cruiser play is becoming far more extreem. Either they miss completely (most of the times though it does not feel that way) or they hit devastating hard.

Well it can work. So can the lemmingtrain. Split up happend on 2 brothers often. So does the LT. The trick IMO is communication. Which doesn't happen. In the split formation 1 side should push hard and the other fall back so you can make a wrench crush (that's the idea). The LT should keep pushing hard, but they always come to a stop, being deleted 1 by 1. -

Wonderfully writen OP! IMO this should be made sticky. Of course it's still a game and I want to play for fun. Having said that: the most fun I have if when I'm fighting an awesome battle. Don't even mind to lose that way either. The more the concept of "working as a team, playing your role" is hammered down, the better. Even if we get 1 potatoe boiled, it is progress! @ Lin3: the main trap of cruisers is they can be deceivingly fast. Especially the Russians. I'm NOT promoting camping but tanking: stay on the 2nd line in the opening phase @ 1/4 to 3/4 "impulse." That way you can rush in and help your DD (it is extremely statisfying to delete the Atlante harrassing your DD with a Chapayev) or fall back when things are getting too hot: the DD has a better chance of escaping that than you have (turn = euthanasia) so the fat ladies can catch up and enrich the other side with metal gifts. My point: check your speed! I know from very much experience. And still I find myself overstreched because I rushed in too hard. -
Wow. I must say I'm becoming curious too. I'd love to have Sharnhorst as well. The $$ is not the issue. First I need to be convinced my win ban has been lifted. Dropped a full % in winrate in a matter of days.... I won't believe I've become that bad skilled overnight.
-
I hardly use flags. IMO it seems to invite bad battles. For each flag I get 1 potatoe in my team or sets me back 1 tier somehow.
-
All of the above. USSR cruisers are deceivingly fast. Before you know it you've run into an "admiral Akbar." So check the throttle and aniticipate for an exit strategy all the times (minimap is sacred). Doesn't work in 100% of the cases though but can greatly increase your gameplay joy.

This. Again looks like a case of thinking "the higher the tier, the easier it gets." As i found out the hard way: it isn't. Also: the time is right to wheen off coop. Random can be extremely frustrating and hard but the only way you managed to ride your bicycle was to fall off a gazillion of times. Random made me an experienced noob!

OP, IMP you're making the same mistake I made: rushing throught the tiers too fast. My advice: it's NOT getting easier on higher tiers. T5 is an awesome tier to play in. I advice you to take a "break" here and grind all ships at a slow pace. Not to mock you: your stats blow mine away. Respect for that. I only try to help you enjoy this game to the fullest. I wish I had taken that advice when I was at your level...

I acted on impulse and re-installed today. I've drawn my conclusion it's forbidden for me to progress beyond 51% WR. So i decided to stop caring about stats at all. To your point: I use doublons to 3 purposes. 1 premium cammo (will come in later tiers), making adjustments on upgrades and retraining captain skills (I often find out I made the wrong choices of skills). Buying prem ships I'll use real life cash. My advice to you is to go slow through the tiers. If i could do it over I'd stick to a particular ship on that same line untill my captain reach lvl 10 (10 points I mean). I'm doing that now in my German BB line. But this is my point of view as a ship keeper. My second advice: if you enjoy a line/ ship. Stick to it. Don't make the mistake I made of thinking that the higher tier you get, it will become easier. It doesn't. And I like to take out of the moth balls my Hermelin/ Eerie/ Orlan and Hishidate once in a while as well! -
It's not that hard (normal vessel (nv) premium vessel (pv)) nv -> pv = not training pv -> pv = nt nv -> nv = training pv -> nv = t

I just don't grasp why MM isn't allowing 1 tier difference max. It is such a huge thrill to be overtiered over and over again. Just had to face a Myoko and a Scharnhorst in my pathetic Marblehead. Both looked funny at me (aimed in my general direction) and I got 5 citadels. Hell, I don't care if i have to wait some longer in queue. This isn't fun anymore.

I've changed my mind. And used the "configurationscreen hack" as well. I've had it. I know I can't win every game but this is beyond insane. Getting thrown in the potato team over and over again. Lose, lose, lose. No matter how hard I try. Together with the arrogant attitude of the higher tier levels (in which I cannot perform anything but being a floating citadel shooting overpens, non-damage shells and torps who run on steam engines), winning = still losing in 99,9% of the cases I've lost interest in that as well. Perhaps I'll try again after my vacation. A real shame cause Wow's has been my hobby for nearly a year now. Good luck on the "high seas" and I'll sorely miss you. But my main purpose is to have fun and not being annoyed all the time. -

You got me there ilhilh. Apart from my not so smart chosen words I was talking with emotion as well. I'm taking a time out for a few days because I've had the worst losing spree in my whole "carreer" I'll never ever be a 60% ace. I know that. But for some reason I got kicked back from 51.7 to 51.02. In 3 or 4 days. Not to whine about that but it had gotten to me. Hence my time out. I'll be Arnold Schwarzennegger soon enough! My point (as I elsewhere have stated): I'm a wallet player. I am, with a lot others, carrying this game. I strongly advice WG to make up a modus which can please all of us. The aces who are having a bad game if they only score a Kraken and not the other 10 medals and the suckers like me. Being an experienced noob who has gotten his share of games under his belt and watching countless houres or YT instructions and having very much RTS xp I think I understand the point. I simply refuse to give up my role in battle. F.e. my Ibuki and Baltiless. I cover my DD's who go to cap. If I can push out the red dd's out of that cap and we get it 1 second earlier, that could mean the difference between win or defeat. Even if the enemy fleet has happened to gather arouns that cap (which in my case is 95% of the times). Or if a stray CV player on this tier is present, I'll simply risk the turn and head back to the capital ships for AA protection in my Baltiless. In my cruisers I get wrecked over and over again using this strategy. I just won't do a "Flammu" (hide behind the islands and killsteal). Maybe that's very stupid but I just won't. Playing a Montana or Yamato? I'll tank forward (no, not rush in straight line to my demise) bit every "ground" a BB takes means the team has more room for a strategic pull back and the reds have less. I open up the second the red BB's are in range to cover my cruisers and DD's in my former stated situation. Go ahead and shoot me: I can take the hits (within reason). Like Notser has put out over and over: it's not about you and your tiny ego. It's about PTW (play to win). What I want from my naieve POV of playing my role is a decent compensation. "Ferry, you struggeled well, sucker. Here's 10k profit for you." All the YT aces get 500K. That's perfectly ok for me. Hell! I'd even put in on the "biggest achievements today thread!!" I did d T9-10 match and did not suffer from it. But I don't like it to lose 150k every [edited] match I play in my role. So that's where that replier struck a nevre to me with "it's exclusive to us, ubertrackers." If I make a loss by screwing up (which I do very occasionally) you wont hear me. [edited]=hole. How could you have been SO stupid? I'll laugh it away and go into the "BLUNT" modus (better luck next time). Thanks for your feedback ilhilh

She would have been my no 4. She shines in her sheer ugliness! -
Honor to who deserve honor. In other threads I've been attacking Flammu a lot. In this case I respect him: wonderfully played. Still don't like the guy and prob never will but he played Mogami very well in this clip.

Ferry_25 replied to Snowy_a's topic in General Discussion
Ah wonderful topic OP! +1 for that alone. As I interpreting it you don't specifically mean performance or how hard they can hit but just the estethics of the ships and you ask for a top 3. Before I reveal my choice I must say I love all the ships in this issue. WG has done such a fantastic job in detail and graphics I feel I can almost touch the ships in port. I actually just like starting Wow's, don't play and just marvel at my collection. I find them all so wonderful I keep them all.... 105 ships and counting. I can't bear it in my heart to sell 1. Regardless of what PItA that ship was for me to grind. no3: Novik. I do love those 18th century guns on the deck so much. Completely useless and for mere cosmetics. But IMO it's so beautiful made. no2: Imperator Nikolai I. I'm praying WG will realise it's not OP. (got wrecked recently in 1 second: wonderful CV torp drop in combination with excellent focus fire from the reds. AKA: Boom, gone). The mere simplicity of that ship. What do you need? Guns, big ones and lots of secondaries. The rest is useless. They "indulged themselve" by putting on TWO masts on the ship!! Wow. IMO a very skilled plane could actually land on that deck. no1: Mikasa. I cannot describe how beautiful I think this ship is. I do not care in the least bit I am amazed of hitting the ocean with those guns. I love to take her out occ just to look at her splendor. -
I'm using the 203's. In closer range (which is mandatory anyway with this boat) it can give a good beating with AP as well. I'm not blindstaring to the matches alone. But the entire boat is a handfull IMO. I'm not that scared of turning; when a BB looks funny at you, you're 1 shot anyway, regardless of angle in my experience. To get the boat functioning you must be patient in the beginning. Do not draw early attention or you'll be fire immune in the 3rd minute...

I'm "re-grinding" my cruiser lines. Since I've lost interest in T9-10 cruisers (citadel, citadel. that'll be 100k credits) I look back and upgrade my captains (ship keeper so fresh captains on those ships). What is your advice for the 4th rank skill? DE or AFT on Sviet? Thanks a million guys!

Wow. I'm getting real curious. Not going to buy untill my win-prohibition is lifted though....
