Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Mtm78!!!! Whaaahhh!!! Awesome solo warrior man!!! I complimented you!!! Congratulations man. Best defeat I ever had! -
I always thought a smoked ship is spotted within 3 km anyway.

Am I the only one looking forward to the RN cruisers?
Ferry_25 replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in General Discussion
I'm neutral in the matter. Always nice to see new arrivals of lines. It's just I'm not sure about the rumor/ fact (?) the line won't be equiped with HE ammo. Only AP? Must see it for myself. No hurry at all though: there's probably a hype for the first 4 weeks in which the matches are "infested" with the new shipline. Happened with the previous releases as well. I'm only just now starting to grind my German BB line. Edit: read the patchnotes after my post. I know now there will only be with "their ballistic characteristics and penetration value are not great, and the maximum AP shell damage is relatively low." Hmmmm not fueling my enthousiasm... -
Indeed, I have no idea what he's talking about. IMO CV's are the joke of this otherwise wonderful game. Yesterday I got wrecked in Fubuki by a CV. Was my own fault: I didn't see the allies going to the map border to hug it for some reason before it was too late to join them. It took him 4 or 5 runs to bring me down in combination with support fire. While dodging bombers and incoming shells I competely overlooked the torp drop. Well played by the CV. In my case this is a rare exception. Other exceptions is the unlucky detonation drop by bombers. Happened once or twice in my entire "carreer." And before you start: I haven't got many CV games under my belt. But those I have I perform quite well IMO. It's too boring and simplistic to enjoy. I did see however WG will give attention to CV play so I'm following that with interest.

Do more people get those offers? I never do.

Wow! i'd like to have that bar for every ship! on topic: in your case it could also be "that 1 ship in the line which you simply can't make to function." I think we all have those examples.
-
Hm I had something similar y'day. Got the color of shame (rightfully so that's not the issue): I carefully played not to inflict teamdamage and performed well. I saw the # of battles to get rid of it dwindle, except 2 cases. Both 0 team damage yet the counter didn't go backwards. Sorry I forgot to save the screenshots. Hope you believe me on my word. (Served the hard time in the meanwhile. Back to normal again!).

weekends + mid tier = lose lose lose lose lose lose
Ferry_25 replied to MahBallz's topic in General Discussion
I have no idea what OP is talking about... What do you mean by "mid tier?" T1-10? Oh. Ok! Yeah. now I get it. Dont worry: that's endemic. In fact: when you come to "high tiers" 8+. The "mid tier" will seem like the most advanced, perfectly well teamwork gaming you have ever met in your life! "oh how I miss that 1 victory in 20 losses!" -

While you're at it: please don't play DD's or CV's when you're a slow starter! If those ships come into action only in the 3rd minute the game's already lost. While playing cruisers or BB's it is annoying but can be overcome. -
Hahaha! Wonderful expamples. I do agree with OP. The paint seems like a really "haste job" done. Some more realistic pallets would seem very nice. or at least give the choice bewteen different pallets. and I know: there are mods in which you can even paint the ships in the most absurd Manga themes. Not my cup though.

For me it's the best (or less bad) season till now. I have but 1 "survival tip." Play until you lose. If you lose 1 match, you'll keep losing. Call it a day and try later again. Now I left a still going on match. I got sunk already. We are in the lead but the entire team is now chasing a DD who chased and wrecked our CV. Giving BS to all remaining reds. So that's probably a loss. Edit: OK. wonders do occur! They pulled it off somehow! Well done team and yeah: no thanks to me. -
I've heard people asking ingame. Had 2 incidents y'day. Both in the 2nd minute where my game froze for 3 or 4 seconds and picking up again. Second time I watched the ping, which stayed normal.
-
Good to see this Conway. My sincere question: would it be possible to let the pink pusnishment SLIGHTLY of the leash? Please. Nowadays pink means nothing anymore. 1 stupid but honost mistake leads to pink too quickly. Please raise your hand if you have never accidentally fired at a friendly while TV-ing and he overtook you, scratching you or vv, hit a 15 km torp at a friendly @14.9 km and 5 cm. Yeah: cut away all my profit for that incident for my mistake for all I care: it's still a stupid mistake. But don't turn me pink for 1 of those rare incidents right away! Don't you see you're actually helping those true parasites? Which are in my XP even more rare than citadelling a Yamato with an Eerie.... Is it that hard to see: you're punishing 99.99% of the good intentioned (but sometimes stupid. And yeah: me very much included) players for the rest of the insects!
-
Though it will probably not be implimented I like the idea of a rewarding system to become more skilled. So +1 for the suggestion OP.
-
First time I hear this too... Actually I'm having that problem the other way around: detected by ghost planes. Plane detected sign goes on but no plane to be spotted near my ship. And yes in open water as well. I've accepted planes can see through mountains.

Thanks for the feedback people. Made me rethink my POV. It was by far meant as a troll but an open mind question. Some replies: I know the Dutch navy wasn't much in the game timeframe. Hell the entire army wasn't. No offense meant: that was politics. My point is Dutch navy had a profound influence on all navies worldwide. Nearly all naval terms are directly derived from Dutch words. As I stated elsewhere: an entire Dutch line would be too much. But I still cannot understand there's not 1 ship present in this game. As far as the RN line: I'm looking forward to it now, given your great feedback!
-
Odo, what do those numbers before the ships in the line up mean?
-
I prefer EM. Because for much BB's it means guns keep still while making a fullthrottle turn. IMO that's a bigger life saver than the less chance of a fire. FP is my second choice on the 2 line in BB's.
-
All respect to the royal Airforce and groundforce. But tell me: what where the actual glorious moments/ battles of the RN? I have an open mind in this matter but I can't find anything. Sinking Bismarck? That was due to the brilliant airstrike which jammed her rudder. Still took 20 or 30 ships??? to sink her. Oh, the glorious sinking of the French fleet! While laying still in port... What is the supposed "big role" of the RN in history anyway? Please tell me. Because I cannot think of anything. I cannot remember seeing 1 glorious naval action in history from the RN. Other than troop transports and good carriers (which are floating airbases for that matter). Could somebody enlighten me what IS the fuss about the RN ingame? Especially the British players: please convince me why the RN presence is so much needed while there is not 1 Dutch ship (Michiel de Ruyter, towing the RN flagship from the River Thames) in this game??? Edit: Belfast is a city in Ireland, is it not?
-
IMO OP's POV is exaggerated. Yeah, with the new KM BB line there was a BB hype for some time. Granted: longer than expected. But by now that hype has worn off. The last 2 to 3 weeks IMO the balance has returned. OK, once in a while I find myself to be the only (or 1 of 2) cruisers ingame. But that's IMO an exception rather than a rule.
-
I get the feedback mails quite frequently as a matter of fact. I don't mind filling them in. I even have a feeling I've had some influence in game changes. I must largely disagree with OP POV about the ships ingame. First of all Yamato: everybody who has read 2 lines or more on naval history must agknowlegde Yamato was the apex battleship of all times. So I don't mind reflecting that fact ingame. However the Montana has recieved nice buffs to make Yamaro respect it. Before you start that matter: yeah I have had little t10 matches. With the newconomy I finally started to like the tIX ships, so I'm heavily grinding those. But those matches I had and the tons of YT movies proves my point. For not too long ago Montana was the joke of the game. Back in those days I actually switched to HE when facing a Yama, hoping to do 600 dmge per salvo (better than nothing) and maybe a fire, shooting at it while he was laying still BS, looking funny at me and double citadelling me regardless of angle in his most fumbled shot. But no more. Montana will devour the Yamato with this behavior. And the rest of the USN BB's felt overall superior to the IJN's. For the USN-KM BB balance: meh, I'll vote for the USN still. Except for T8. With Tirpitz I'll have NC's for breakfast. But with Iowa (the harvester of sorrow on T9 BB's) you might as well change the name to Friedrich die Kleine.... Cruisers... I'm re-grinding (ship keeper and playing untill that capt is at least L10) the USN cruiser line because in all post St Louis (come to me sweet Bogatyr. Please: come with 3 to make it an even match) cruisers I sucked. So I drew the conclusion it must have been me. In fact I'm doing very nice matches in my Phoenix since I started my re-grind... DD's? I cannot compare each line with the other. Those are the most different ships ingame possible. Can't speak for CV's though. I only play those when I "have to" in contests like the diamonds and pearls. My stats are wide open: I do excell in those matches. That's because I find CV play to be so boringly, simplistically simple to play... (RTS fan: CV play makes Red Alert to be a extremely complicated and very difficult game in comparison).
-
OMG!!! His/ her choice of course. But that seems SO boring!! I like the diversity. But that's my opinion though...
-
Hey, there's only 1 silly question. The one you don't ask...
-
Hey, I used to be "obsessed" by WR as well. Untill I figuered out it hardly is saying anything. It only means you were present in that % of won/ lost games. You'll find out there are losing streaks no matter how well you play (jump over torpedo's, tennisracket shells back into their citadels, being sued for the UN tribunal for warcrimes by sinking 6 ships etc) you will lose. On other matches you'll make mistakes which are uncomprehensible and yet your team still pulls it off to win. I know I've been in all mentioned situations. For most oxygen suckers like me the WR will middle out from 48-52% range. Play to win but don't bother about it. I've had tons of epic lost battles. As long as I'm having the felling "wow, this was an awesome match" I continue. Advice: call it a day if it's starting to frustrate.
