  1. Actually I like the new economy. Finally I'm not being punished over and over again with ridiculous costs for doing my best. It brought me back to the T9-10 levels. And yes, I am not such a "superhuman" who has a bad match with only 0.5 M credit income. I try to play my role to my best ability in order to give my contribution to a great match and I play to win. It got me sick to my stomach to recieve every single game, win or loss a profit of -150k. Yeah, still making losses sometimes but that's when I screw up myself. And even then the costs are whithin reason. My point: I am so happy they changed it the way it is now. I was close to uninstalling the game before.

    I never said i underestamate them. Granted when cuahgt by surprise, forcing to show BS and them quickly hiding in their cloud the RN cruisers shine. But in my experience only in that 1 particular situation. Oh no: when they have been hiding behind a rock half of the match, being forgotten and facing a mouth full of 1 direction torps. That's devastating as well. In any other situation: bring it on! I just angle enough so their puny bullets keep bouncing and knife fight them. In 99% of the cases I hammered them back to port in 2 or exceptionally 3 salvo's. Heck I don't even run off in a DD for a 1 to 1 fight with a RN cruiser. And yeah: the other cruisers are by far invulnarable but it is quite rare to get a non BS citadel except for the RN cruisers. Also the side with the most RN cruisers usually loses in my xp.

    No OP that's not true. Only for 50% of the time. The rest they stay behind rocks. I really can't imagine how thrilling it must be to play them. Neither do I care to find out.
  4. OK you have 41 deto's on 3016 games. I can see that @ your achievements. That's 1.4% In my case my % is 0.8%. IMO the concensus is 0.5 - 1.5% overall is the risk of a deto. I've experienced DD's are more prone to deto's than other ships. Though i don't have numbers to proof I have the feeling I'm dealing detonations as much as recieving them. So it's a 2 ways cutting knife. My advice: use your flags smart. I know you can't mount them on every match. so I don't use them on non DD's. And if I equip a DD with it that means I've mounted other flags as well. When (not) to mount them is another discussion. My advice: don't be annoyed. Detonation is as often the first shot as well as your "mercy blow" (you would have been destroyed by that salvo anyway). What does annoy me is the message "you haven't proven yourself this battle" when you have been 1 detonated shot. Inevatably you were always in a combat situation and taking a risk. I've never seen a camping BB getting detonated (......which brings me to an idea!! That MIGHT solve the camping problem!!!! But that's another debate as well ). My advice to WG would be to change the text in that situation. But that's purely cosmetical.

    I don't fully agree with you OP. Yes I think the concealment is very strange on the Hipper. It really feels odd it has a worse C than Chapayev does. But IMO Hipper isn't that poorly armored. Don't forget you're also operating in T10 matches. And cruiser armor against those BB is merely for decoration. My opnion is I don't enjoy the German cruiserline at T7-8 at all. They excell IMO in mediocreness: everything is "meh." Or at least I didn't find anything they really excell in. Yeah I know: the Ap should be glorious. And sometimes it is but in my case it's bouncy, cracky or the "mysterious pen but no dam" hits. The torprange is actually completely useless... Just too short to grant area denial and a desperate torp suicide run ends up badly in 99% of the cases because the ship just hasn't got the speedpunch to surive the trip to the BB in the first place. Though I'm not saying Hipper and Yorck can't do anything I never have the feeling I play a decisive role in battle. Nor can I remember at least 1 epic match in them. It's in my case always: "yeah, you did a mediocre job. Here's a mediocre profit in cash and XP. Bore on or take another ship?" I'm getting close to Roon now. But frankly I'm hardly curious to that boat. Only difference I see "on paper" is it has 6000 more HP. Same damage potential per shell, less range (exactly what you don't need @ T9), 2 aft, 1 bow turret and the rest as far as I see now pretty much the same. That's telling me Roon is most effective when retreating, so that less range comes very much not in handy.

    I don't agree with you OP. The dodging BB's only means they've learned their lesson not to go in straight lines all the times. DD vs BB is really a chess game: try to predict what the BB is going to do in the future. Always ask yourself the Q: what would I do if I were him? That way you'll have more succes in landing torpspreads. Of course it's very nice to score a dev strike 1 shot salvo @ a BB. But that only works with people who didn't learned their lesson yet or in ambush situations. I always try to spread so I get the biggest chance of hitting at least 1 torp. more often than not it causes a flood which makes him force to use is DCP. So the rest of the team can try to burn him down (IF they're cooperating and the "if" is capitalised on purpose). As far as the sniping at long distance is concerned. In my experience it's nearly always a "lucky hit" The dispersion is awfull @ longrange. The BB camping problem is ATM the biggest issue together with lack of teamwork IMO. What you're suggesting will make the camping problem only bigger.

    I loath that map as well. The side with the fastest DD's wins. It's already decided before the match even starts.

  12. I made it today as well. Had to have 2 soviets for the last couple of days. And either no Russians on the enemy or just bad luck. Got 1 in a battle and 2 in the next... That last battle was hilarical: a Dm Donskoy on 2 Br laying behind the mountain the whole time. I sailed around him and caught him full BS. He frantically tried to move forward and backwards, while keep laying BS... But i guess he forgot that ship is as agile as Montana with Steven Segal on board... For the second 1 I checked of course if nobody else had a shot on him: he was low a health Chapayev. But there wasn't and he was threatning our DD's so Tirpitz donated him a volley of Krupp Stahl. Glad I'm done with the ARP missions. I like the series and actually the ships as well. But the Nachi challenge was IMO 1 of the hardest. And I don't really understand the philosophy: Russian ships are having a hard time enough with their supernove detectability. It's no fun to be outfocussed even more because of the Nachi obsession. IMO it would have been more fair if WG had made a "destroy 80, or for all I care 100 ships" mission. Regardless of origin. This is about the same problem as with the Emden mission: destroy X-ship types... Nobody dared playing DD's during that time. But all in all I really liked the missions. Thanks WG!
  13. RS as well. I can deal quite fine with fires. Not all of the times oc but I don't mind burning 5 seconds longer. I will heal it back. The RS has saved me from a lot of torps.

    OK, that's a clear explanation. Thakns for that OP. I have 1 question: team damage (accidental or not): does that "wear off" after a certain amount of time? F.e. if I accidentally take a tunnel vision shot, overlooking my ally who is hugging me and I stay below the 1%. Does my "record get sweeped clean" if I give 1M damage whithout error? Or does it stay "forever?"

    Skybuck, this match sucks in the world of sucking. Disgusting. I don't have any other word for it. Playing selfishly like a coward: I can step over that. You were playing a RN cruiser so your place is behind an island for 99% of the time. I get that. Doing nothing to save your CV is sick: you could have tried to smoke him up whithout risking anything. But OK: you were hellbound for your trap. But that TK? Hell, this sort of behaviour is the reason why everybody, myself included, who's making a stupid mistake is punished as severly. And that's getting to me. I'm sorry, untill now I liked you. With your stinging troll posts and X-files. I could all see the sense of humor in that. But this? This making me never wanting to have anything to do with you anymore.

    IIRC Jutland was in territorial waters. This site is AFAIK in the middle of the Indian Ocean. They only quite recently (I think around '04) discovered the wrecks. So it's understandable they can't monitor it 24/7. And I didn't think of the "blow it up and fish out the scraps" method. That's doable quite quickly. And yeah it's sad but like other posters stated: graverobbery is of all times. The western cultures have done exactly the same things (Pyramids in Egypt f.e.).

    Living in Netherlands I heard it as well of course. What's themost baffling is the question why someone would want to seize those wrecks. Some "important admiral" here claims the wreckages are 50 m or deeper. Salvaging them for scrap is not economical viable. Stealing parts of a wreckage by divers I can somehow understand (not condone of course). But an entire wreck of an otherwise obsolete military vessel?

    Perhaps I missed something. But AFAIK we don't know anything except Missoury is announced and it's a good idea to have free xp in handy. Those are the facts I know (besides the fact I am 100% sure it will come "soon"(-;). So I am going to wait until I know the facts instead of getting spun up by mere rumors.

    Can't agree with you OP. I'm grinding the German cruiserline and I am not particularly fond of them neither am enjoying their playstyle. Suffering through Hipper now. Looking at (p)reviews it must be such an awesome ship... You can easily deal 4k dmg per salvo AP on BB's. Well, somehow I am such a noob I never seem to see those BB's. Y'day I got 38 hits with 13k damage total. Swithcing between HE and AP often, aiming well at supersturctures on BB's/ waterlines on cruisers. Hardly any pens, no fires and 500 dmg per salvo. Yes some rare nice-ish battles but overall Hipper is IMO yet another KM cruiser which excells in tedious mediocracy. My point: please don't make it even worse by removing HE. What the heck am I supposed to do then? No HE is the reason I won't even bother to start the RN line at all. Though I was very curious to it.

    Good to give suggestions. But IMO capping is already too much a game ruiner and has a too dominant role in the matches. More often than not a nice ongoing battle is ruined because 1 dd managed to slip pass the frontline and lay in the cap. I both hate to win and lose that way. What you're suggesting is making capping even more important.
