    ARP Ships - Questions

I liked the ARP series. I liked the challenges as well. But to be frankly: I tried the ARP ships a couple of times and got back to grinding the regular lines again. Hardly using the Y-port: the music makes me nervous....

Premium ships in containers - cheesy logic.

If that is what the deal was beforehand in the lottery I'd accept it. Yes. I always have the choice not to participate in it. Of course you can disagree and in that case make it open for debate instead of whining like a child who doesn't get his/ her candy.

Premium ships in containers - cheesy logic.

I fully agree on this 1 with MTM. FFC: you're getting it for free! And as stated clearly: in case you already have that particular ship you'll be compensated in silver. Nothing magical about that. I only had 2 SC uptill now. And I was glad with the rewards. From all containers for that matter. They don't have to do this mind you. As far as the ship commander: you can indeed write a ticket first instead of b*thcing around here right away.
  4. So far it seems conclusions are to walk the "thin red line" between moving forward whithout rushing in like an idiot and taking resonable cover whithout hiding behind an island the whole time. What I also found out in BB's I am forced to play the game in a slow pace. There's no room for the retina detaching lightning fast dogfights. In doing so timing is of the essence. Take your shot only when you're sure you have the optimal circumstances. So don't always immediately open up to a cruiser @ extreme range in the opening phase. Especially in the higher tiers: a cruiser who don't start to zigzag when detected should be adressed by Jingles. Yeah we all probably have seen the YT movies in which the player insta delete a longrange cruiser. And I even managed to do so. But far extreme more often it has no effect whatsoever: in those cases they zigg-ed or zagged right into the dispersion. You only give your position away so the reds can anticipate where you're heading and ambush you later. On the other hand: when I am detected I will take the shot: have noting to lose anyway and in that case the "surely miss when not shooting" rule applies to me. Furthermore I've imprinted the "shift" button to zoom out after a shot in my muscle memory. Sit awareness is vital for a BB. And the TV time is already long enough to aim as best as I can.

Need suggestions with the next line

In my case I actually like the grinding. Also I love to keep the ships I played so my port is loaded. From my POV I'd advice you to grind as well instead of skipping ships. That way you can see for yourself what you like most. You'll also find out in every line there's "that 1 ship in which you suck." In my case it's the Hipper. I hear lots of people saying "it's fantastic" Well for me it's not. I stopped grinding that line for now. Because my goal is to have a fun game and not to annoy myself. i'd even advice you to try a CV! Only then you can decide if it's your cup of coffee or not. More for the skipping matter: it's a "leathal mistake" to assume the game is getting easier the higher tier you have. It is completely 100% the opposite. The higher the tier the harder it gets. Which is for me a challenge: I learn the most from people who are better than I am!
  6. Well I have. Yet I don't seem to be able to increase my WR at any way. I've been stuck in the 50-51% range for my entire "carreer" now. Some early peaks/ lows disregarded. I've come to accept this: winning is always nicer OC. But my main goal is to have an awesome match. My conclusion: it's neither the only fault of the team or mine or bad luck. it's always a combination of all. Sometimes I really screw up. Sometimes it's the team running of to a desolate and useless corner of the map and sometimes I just pick the wrong corner: either running into the full force or nobody at all (in both cases always running after the facts!). OP: those losing sprees are part of the deal. They happen to everybody and can happen anytime. Don't get upset or doubt yourself. And don't believe all the "conspiracy theories" about WG rigging the MM's by skill or something. It's purely random. OK, 1 exception: what I understand is they do separate player levels in the low tier matches in order to avoid seal clubbing as much as possible. They have stated that clearly and I think that's a good thing: the "aces" can enjoy playing lower tiers and new players won't get scared away that quickly anymore.

What's that chemical formula implying Acetessigester?

Eating a torp in a DD

Try to search but couldn't find anything (or 10.000 hits). Despite all the LTP advices I've taken, my experience in combat and YT instructions I still sometimes get into a situation where I'm forced to eat a torpedo in my DD. What I've noticed it isn't an instant deletion in 100% of the cases. Sometimes I get away with it heavily damaged but still floating. My problem is: at those instances my adrenaline level has peaked to leathal values and I always forget to check where the torp hit me. My "gut feeling" is telling that the best chance of survival is taking it on the nose. Is that correct? Or are there other places on the ship where you can take them and still have a chance to walk away from it?

Thanks! Don't know what you mean by commenting RNG though.

Make torpedoes easier to hit enemy ships

I don't agree either. Torpedo's aren't suffering from RNG: they always go exactly the same speed, in the same trajectory and sink at exactly the same time. Also it's very strange a torpedo detonates when your ship barely touches his propellor. AFAIK it should only detonate when the warhead is activated. So it's not necassery to make it even easier. Of course I highly like the dev strikes with a mouthfull of torps against a BB as well. Would lie if I'd deny that. But at the same time I also like it when BB (or other ship players for that matter) have learned their lesson and found out about the WASD hack. What might help you is to realise torpedo's aren't only meant for annihilation: they can be used to force opponents to places/ positions they don't want to be in. F.e. I got a spread on my @ss yesterday which forced me to chose between either eating them all or give full broadside to a close range Friedriech while playing DM Domskoy... The end result was as predictable as wet.... (I chose the broadside and sacrificed a goat to RNG-us in vain. oneshot, gone).

    Shimakaze - 8KM Torpeedos

I'd say: stick to the 8 torps if you like them. Radar isn't that huge of an issue IMO. I've gotten into trouble maybe 10 times with DD's because of radar since it was introduced. Even the prem radar has a long cooldown and your still playing a agile PIA to hit. If you're radar detected: full throttle and keep dodging like a pro. Run away and find another opportunity for the next time.
  13. Don't have hard numbers. But I recognise the T8-10 numbers. Though I don't care: IMO T8 can operate well in T10 matches. Don't recognise the Bastion issue. I highly dislike that map as well. But didn't see it more than usual.

Two radical CV changes that could help greatly

Actually very good suggestions! + 1 for that. Another idea might be to include crews on the ships. And I don't mean actual people visible on ships during battle: WG has made it clear that won't happen. But as a matter of hitpoints. By doing so, give fighters the ability to strafe ships and shave off HP. That way the role of the fighters is becoming more important.

    Food for Nachi

Ok! I brought them out in the weekend! Kutuzov, Dm Domsk, Molotov (which was placed in much T8 battles). Somehow I played wonderful games in them and never got sunk.... Why do I still have the feeling this is bad??

    Remember those personal offers?

This! Bloody heck. I never got a special offer ever! And I have enough means to buy it. Of course if it's interesting me. But heck no joy in Port Ferry uptill now!
  17. That might actually very well be the case! I've had the same thing in Colorado and Farragut. People shouting "it's fantastic" while I have the feeling the quickest way to bring down a red is to wait untill it is rusted to crumbles... And even more strangely: when I take out those past "cursed" ships I perform wonderful in them! Maybe because the "psycholical grind stress" is off. Thanks for that input.
  18. Wow. I see I have neglected my own topic too long! Very interesting ideas and suggestions. I didn't mean this topic to be a stat comparison matter though. I am not interested in stats. Yeah, partly because mine suck. But I don't care. The issue is to adress a problem and have a good discussion about it. Anyway: what I found out is it isn't always necesarry to always move like a headless chicken in a BB. I've come into situations where I found a perfect position to cover an important strategic part of the map. There I could very well shoot at targets whith sufficient cover. And in doing so give a good contribution to the match. Of course the trick is still to watch the MM closely as the situation changes and not turn into a camper or get ambushed from an unexpected corner. And IMO this goes for all shipclasses for that matter. Especially when your team has the cap advantage. Thanks again for the great input people!
  19. That's 1 of the points: I don't like Hippers guns... Bounces, shellcracks or the mysterious "pen but no dam" hits. Regardless what angle, where I aim I can't seem to do damage in most of the cases.

    Minotaur- Potential new tactic

But why would you want to turn the whole time in the Minotaur? The only turn it makes is to set course to the nearest rock to hide behind isn't it?

Want, no wait. Need De Ruyter as a premium now WG!

I'd love this ship too. I've been shouting out for the presence of a Dutch ship in this NAVAL game for months now. Why? Because I dare say historically Netherlands is the most important naval country in the world. And I'm not asking for entire lines. Just 1 ship. I know there are a lot of Dutch players on the server. They all agree with me.
  22. I voted no. IMO the MM, though not perfect, is doing a well job: the BB's are balanced in tier per side and number per side (maybe +/- 1 IIRC). And I don't have the experience there are that much BB dominated matches. Yes there are some. Also I see DD dominant (5 or 6 per side) or CA dominant matches. But both sides get equal amount of BB's and other ships. I think it's a challenge to adept to different line ups. Yeah in a heavy BB line up you certainly cannot yolo off lone in your cruiser whithout being punished.
  23. Ferry_25

Something needs to be done about BBs.

OP. You hardly have much XP playing BB's. I suggest you try it out some more. See how thrilling it is having to wait half a minute for your next salvo, while being HE spammed. Or when, after carefully aiming, you are rewarded with 1060 damage to a full broadside cruiser or when your shells land perfectly around the target on the longer distance. Or not being able to escape when you run into a cruiser/ DD trap and get focussed for 5 minutes while the shells are hammering into you. And: this is the most thrilling part of playing BB's: facing a torpspread which you cannot avoid by any means, seeing the end of that match creeping up at you.

    how to play brits

Note: I haven't tried them yet. But what I've seen there are 3 ways to play it: hide behind a rock, hide in your smoke cloud or hide on the bottom of the sea.

A Proposal for the World of Wrarships Creators

Could it be to make a, maybe sticky, proposal thread? Now the different clogging the forum. And I've seen excellent suggestions on the forum which dissappear overtime. I like this idea as well OP!
