Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
But why would Wargaming want to make life even more difficult for destroyers? And a voice whispers in my ear "because battleship players don't like destroyers" -
Yes. Noticed that too. Maybe WG are collecting stats to compare the old & new logic.

New AI of bots in the coop - feedback for WG
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Dead_Skin_Mask's topic in Archive
This. ^ If I want to play PVP then I will play PvP, not "PvP-Lite" masquerading as PvE. I would add one small addition: When torpedoes are fired from "sensible" distances, remove the ability of fat, slow bot battleships to dodge torpedoes as if they were tier 3 Destroyers. NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!! We need the good guys to stay in the game. -
Anyone else get burnt out on this game?

I like to think that someone at Wargaming is reading this thread, and Warning Bells are being triggered (not quite "Alarm" bells yet). But who am I kidding? -
Now, I think you are an interesting poster, and I detect someone that I could possibly learn from. Your comment intrigues me but I don't want to hijack the thread more than I have done already. (mea culpa) May I PM you, please?

Is there a mod, that auto-exits queue when CVs are in it?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to tenacious_torps's topic in General Discussion
Well if people have an objection to Carriers then running to coop won't work. Coop matchmaking was reworked in patch 0.7.0. You see a lot more carriers since then. A LOT. For example a bot-driven carrier may be added to a team of 7 humans (or 6 humans plus me). I can recommend it as a cure for carrier-phobic players. It's worth building your ship for AA, and you face a poor bot carrier player on the "bot" team. Take out something like a Gneisenau, high tier Brit cruiser or a Kii and watch your dislike for carriers melt away - along with the enemy planes. -

"If you can't muster the competitive mindset of dealing with things regardless of personal enjoyment then you have no right to complain about anything." If you are playing World of Warships as a leisure activity, and you are not enjoying it then you should probably quit (provided that you are not hopelessly addicted) and find something that you DO enjoy. Maybe the best thing would be if all the poor and average players just quit the game and leave it to all the better players so that they could have a better standard of battles. It would probably be a very interesting game to watch as a spectator with all the players knowing the mechanics, and playing to the objectives. -

Whilst I do not agree with the OP, I don't think that this is relevant to his main point. I read it that he believes that the difference between the skills of rival CV players has too much influence on the battle. If it is purely a matter of the OP not enjoying battles involving CVs then "git gud" is still not the whole story. There is no law that says high skill = enjoyment, just a correlation that is often observed' (Apparently Andre Agassi did not enjoy tennis, but it gave him a good living so he endured it. But then we all have to endure tennis I -
You speak the truth about real life! It should not be a problem though. WG could just make something up, just like they make up practically everything else in the game in the interests of playability. e.g reload of torpedoes at sea firing from smoke magic circles in the ocean that give you something called "capture points" ship repairs at sea which in real months would have taken months in dry-dock super-strong fantasy russian ships to please the russian players and p-off all the other players who are not russian.

Your post (#3) is brilliant! You sound like an well-educated and shrewd person.

Fair enough. But the trouble now is that they are balancing it round two DDs which should not even be in the operation in the first place. Leave the damn thing in development until there is a line of British AND French DDs....and THEN re-introduce it. The last thing we need is YET ANOTHER OP FOR ALLIED SHIPS ONLY. How many of these do we need for Heaven's Sake! Let's have some German or Japanese ONLY missions for a change.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

Who says that they haven't? (It's a small icon, and it's difficult to see from this angle if one is at the stern of the ship.) -

The icons are rather small - it's difficult to make out the banks of torpedo tubes that will make up the main armament of RN Carriers. -
That's not strictly true. The last time that Dunkirk was on the PTS server Wargaming provided a British and a French destroyer (the "Anthony" and the "Cyclone"), and loaned this to everyone when the patch went live. You give me one good reason why they could not have done it this time? (Of course if you say "Sheer incompetence" or "Just Bloody Mindedness" I will have to conceded that you have a point) Also, I though that this Op was to be released in 0.7.9 ( I could be wrong), whereas we don't get the Royal Navy boats until 0.7.10?

It's been a pleasure to be able to praise Wargaming lately for the Sharks v Eagles event, and for the Portal 2.0. That stops right here. Normally I would give as full and as honest appraisal as I could. However that would get me banned. 1) In General the "Royal Navy Arc" (Where does this word "Arc" suddenly come from BTW?) is good in itself. It builds on the ideas from previous events in enabling players to pick their own rewards - which is good. The rewards are not mega-brilliant, but they are not bad. The big issue with it from my point of view is that it is another grind. A relatively gentle one, it is true....but yet another grind. Grinds are not bad things in themselves, but this follows on from the Anniversary grind (where you dare not miss a single day if you want the good rewards), and the Sharks v Eagles grind. I feel burnt out TBH. I look at the feedback coming back from the upcoming RN destroyer line and I have to ask myself "Is it worth it?" And I tend to think "NO!", prompted a little bit by point #2 ........ 2) Congratulations Wargaming, I didn't think it was possible, but you've ed-up the Port of London even more. Fog is barely an improvement on the snow that it had previously. The downbeat, grubby, depressing, satanic wharves and wharehouses remain, but the little bit of colour from the pathetic little funfair seems to have disappeared. Of course it may be there somewhere, but by this time I was ordering stuff off the internet,( i.e. wax to make models of humans and some large and painful looking pins.) and trying to work out how I can get personal items from WG staff such as hair and/or nail clippings to "personalise" the models. OFF TOPIC: The other contents in 0.7.9 looks pretty good overall, which will follow on from a very nice 0.7.8 Patch.

CAVEATS: - I only played it once, 3 stars, 3rd in the team....meh! - I am not a big fan of operations any more - the motor torpedo boats are extremely annoying opponents in a Farragut (in anything really) OBSERVATIONS: - I think that the type and number of opponents is just right - The new mechanics for the minefields are better since they give you a fairer chance of navigating through them - The choice of ships is a joke (US & Russian in PT) What happened to the French & British DDs that were loaned to players for the original Dunkirk op? - Respect to the US Forces in WW2 but US Voice is not appropriate for the voiceovers. It is just a straight-up historical blunder.

I say, Old Chap, with all those duplicate Dasha captains it looks more like the Borg Fleet than the Royal Navy! -
