    Superstitions and Ships / Loadouts?

Nah! I'm not superstitious. Remember, it's bad luck to be superstitious!

    Nice necro!

    Uncover the truth mission

There was a time when I would have liked these sorts of games - but not now. However.... Let me wish everyone lots of fun and good luck with this mission! Also, I hope that it will give you nice rewards!
  4. Hmmm.... you've got a very good point there. Sadly, I think that you may be correct.

Looking for a good T7 CL/CA and DD

I find that fascinating (as Mr Spock would say). I wonder why you do better in Minsk than Leningrad? What is your secret? Minsk has better turret rotation speed. About half a kilometer firing range. Leningrad has far better torpedoes. Very slightly better concealment. Can use skilled captain from other ships.
  6. Interesting - I wonder if this means the eventual end of AI controlled carriers in co-op as well?

Looking for a good T7 CL/CA and DD

My Tier 7 choices: DD #1: Jervis (I'm very very happy with the RN DD line - the only destroyers that I can truly say I enjoy rather than "play because I feel that I ought to") Others: Leningrad (No reason to play Minsk); Gadjah Mada CL/CA #1: Fiji (But beware! Although my best T7 Cruiser results are in Fiji, I personally don't like the RN Cruiser playstyle. It's NOT for everyone) Others: Shchors; Belfast (if they ever sell it again); Helena "Left Field" Choices: Algerie (nice guns); Yorck (recently buffed); Atlanta Avoid-at-all-costs: Indianapolis

Discount for tier X permanent camo.

One of the main features of this "Free to Play" game is to persuade the "Average Joe" (and even the "Good Joe") to use their wallet to play tier X. So of course, there never has been, nor likely will be any discount on permanent camo for Tier X ships. In that case, you may ask, why would people want to play tier X? Well one major reason is that you get $hitty matchmaking in Tier 8 & 9 (plus some "challenging" tier 9's) to induce "grind frustration". This is what happens when there is no meaningful competition for a product - Monopolies exploit their position.

    Daring crap

And so strong that it (to use the idiomatic English phrase) "had the other destroyers for breakfast". (Of course this is only me teasing one of my favourite posters again)
  10. The extra HP will boldly enable you to boldly go where no destroyer has boldly gone before. Boldly.

CV Rework Beta Test - Feedback thread

That is very bizarre. I'm sorry that my tip does not help. (And in real life, I guess that you would know more about techie stuff than me anyway ) P.S. Great feedback on the rework!

Earn your greatness - Bonus missions

I am in the same position. I am on Khabarovsk and Udaloi in the Soviet DD line, both with highly trained captains, and the grind has stalled. I do have three Soviet Premiums that could use the EM and SE skills (Okhotnik, Gremy & Leningrad). However, I never play them these days, because there are so many good ships that take priority over them for my limited playing time. So effectively Captain Ovechkin is wasted. Shame - but he is a fantastic hockey player, and worthy to be honoured in the game.

CV Rework Beta Test - Feedback thread

Tip: Always have Windows "Task Manager" running at the same time as the game. (1) That way, when WoWS crashes or goes unresponsive you can kill it from Task manager without having to restart your computer. (1) Other 3rd party software is also available, I believe.

Final Poll: How many UK DD missions did you get?

Great point! I agree. Even though I was lucky with the missions the whole system leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Won't be spending money if Wargaming try this stunt with future lines (Russian BBs, Italian Fleet etc). I'll just get what comes free, and grind the lines normally.

    Premium shop containers poll.

You are not part of the target audience, Ian. (Which is of course Members of the United Gaming Society)

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together

Or as Gilbert and Sullivan said in The Gondoliers: "When everyone is somebody, then no one’s anybody."

Final Poll: How many UK DD missions did you get?

I got all 4 missions. I bought at least 35 premium containers (plus maybe the odd one or two when I was drunk). Most of the containers were bought after getting Acasta. I was so delighted with the ship I felt that I had to gamble to get more ships. I spent all my sovereigns on new containers until I finally got Lightning. Ironically though, all missions came from premium containers. You get so much for being lucky with the container drops that I think it must be deeply annoying for those who miss out (like I did with the French Battleships): - Faster progression through the line - Free ships (saving vital credits) and pre-researched and paid-for modules - extra RN missions - a head-start on the grind using experienced captains, because of their temporary status as premium ships. Even though I was a winner in the current lottery I think it stinks!
  20. I lack the skills to play ANY ship. Some are just harder than others. I am worse than a potato - i am a "turnip". My post was just my pathetic attempt at humour. (Something which I am even more useless at doing than playing warships - if that is possible). Salute!
  21. Is it true that the guy who was responsible for creating the Emerald at tier 5 did so while blind drunk? And that when he sobered up, and realised what he had done, he needed a long and intensive course of counselling to get back his self respect?

British missions in new update a**e about face?

Don't let it bother you. That is certainly not true British Fair Play! No, true British Fair Play would be to have a signature such as: "We hate foreigners - but we hate them all equally"

    British Heavy Cruiser Line

First of all let me say that I recognize that your OPINION is 100% valid for you and I respect it. Each line has national differences which can be considered as "variations on a theme". However the Royal Navy version in each line can be considered a different theme altogether. (This is most marked with RN cruisers, but RN battleships are almost as quirky.) A ship line such as the RN cruisers should exist IMHO. So should a line such as RN battleships. You say, rightly, that "Up till now, the RN is the most expressionistic navy in the game." I have a big problem with that. I just want to play a line of RN ships that just for once is relatively "conventional". PLEASE WARGAMING, DON'T PUT ALL THE "EXCEPTIONAL" LINES INTO ONE NATION! [/rant]
  24. ...or is it just me? Got up early so decided to check the forum. I always use the "classic" theme. What I saw was NOT "classic" . Therefore I did a quick investigation and found that the theme had been set to "default ". Was there a mass reset of users chosen theme to default? (Of course people using the default would never notice)
