Embracing players of other communities will only enhance gameplay...
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
Agree entirely. Spanish is one of the world's great languages. If you speak Spanish & English you can visit a huge number of countries and speak with the local people on their terms. It's not a good look for Wargaming that there is no Spanish speaking forum. -
Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
My latest so-called "Supercontainer" I shall keep them in the toilet as an emergency supply in case I run out of toilet paper. The problem with supercontainers is the big difference in rewards between the biggest ones (e.g. ships) and these "ordinary" rewards. You should never feel let down by the rewards. I wish that they gave fewer supercontainers but that they all contained very good rewards. -
Thread resurected, because this comment was just too good to leave without a reply. Salute Sir! With Arms Race being reportedly included in Tier 9 Ranked Battles, it turns out that it was a preview of things to come. I personally try to avoid anything that makes the game too "arcade-y", but for those who like that sort of thing I hope that you have a great time playing it!

So you are saying that you ping rate stinks. In other words....the ping pongs.

[EXCERPT] WGFest 2018 - RUBBs and RNCVs

The pictures of the Soviet Battleships were rather small, so I was not able to see where the Cruise Missiles and SAM missiles had been installed. -
Thank You to those who posted these codes! Well Done!

WG plans to introduce bots in WoT, after WoWp. WoWs next?!
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
They are talking about it because both games are by the same developer and they are speculating what might happen. It is not unnatural for any company to apply solutions from one product to another product. That is what WoT and WoWS are to Wargaming - just products. Merry Christmas. -
Is WoT getting the Christmass patch a week earlier?

*Applause* Though we must be a bit careful. -
I just blew 100,000,000 Credits
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Hedgehog1963's topic in General Discussion
IIRC You really love destroyers the most - though that doesn't stop you enjoying other ships of course. Are you getting Jean Bart as a collector - or because you really want it? I only ask because the whole Main Battery Reload Boost gimmick really pets me off French ships now, even though (as I've said a million times by now) I am a bit of a francophile. ON TOPIC. Not interested in the coal ships - or much else for coal to be honest. Sitting on over 300,000 of the stuff. One or two steel ships are interesting but I'll only be getting reduced amounts of steel from the Christmas events, because of "real life intrusions." But heck -Ii'd rather have those "real life intrusions" anyway. -
For Snowflakes you need ships in port or 1st win ?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to imElitez's topic in General Discussion
With so many Tier 9 & 10 ships, plus the fact that you already have steel, I'd say that you are a committed, regular player and IMHO your deserve a Stalingrad (if that is what you want) However we are not ALL in that position! I don't have ANY steel to start with. Having played for three years, I have 29 Tier 9 & 10 ships (giving 4350 steel). I can do half the PEF campaign (giving 4000 steel) because of real life over Christmas time and won't have access to a PC. If I can find the money then I can get 3000-to-6000 from the Steel Giant missions (depending on whether THAT is time-gated or not) So my provisional total is 11,350 to 14,350 steel. IIRC a Stalingrad is 21,000 Steel if purchased with a coupon. So I am a long way short. Which is OK. I'm just saying this to reassure people that the Christmas events are NOT going to produce a "flood of Stalingrads" . -
should battlecruisers be added to the UK tree
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to FurthLover77's topic in General Discussion
British Battlecruisers? Yes, eventually. But as others have pointed out we are missing lines from major navies such as France and Italy. (And we still don't have a BB line from that rather minor Russian Coastal Defence force yet) As for battlecruisers, so long as SMS Seydlitz is added ASAP I don't care. (The tough ship & crew are legends IMHO) -
British Heavy Cruiser Line ***UPDATED***
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to TicoXotaR's topic in General Discussion
Wargaming could become "York-heavy" at this rate. Let's go the whole way and introduce USS Yorktown as well. I look forward to games with HMS York, HMS Duke of York, KM Yorck, USS New York and USS Yorktown. And Jingles would still call all of them "Aobas"! -
The Imperial German naval flag, does it have a place in WoWS?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Because it lets me blow off steam and vent my frustration without harming anybody. Perhaps you just shrug your shoulders and accept it. We all cope with being shat on in different ways. If that helps you then fine. I must have some French blood in me - I feel the urge to riot against wrongs. (It may also account for my francophile tendencies ) Je suis gilet jaune.- 288 replies

I just blew 100,000,000 Credits
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Hedgehog1963's topic in General Discussion
I think this is a great idea from Wargaming! If they only do this as a "one off" then I think I might be in "no mans land" with the steel though. I can get to a total of 6900 in steel, but don't have any immediate prospect in getting any more. (Not skilled enough to make the Clan's CB team, and too much of a potato/seal for ranked) IIRC the cheapest Steel ship in the Arsenal is the USS Flint (11,600 steel) -
WGEU Website - Dreadnought Marathon started on the 1st December - Can't see any missions in port?

Good Man! (I like this also) But yes, we all like different things. Each to their own. -
The Imperial German naval flag, does it have a place in WoWS?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I respectfully offer an alternative view. It's not because the thread has been resurrected. It's because issues remain and Wargaming have done nothing about them. I don't care two hoots what flags are used in the game. What I care about is the double standards whereby hideous Russian Communist symbolism is deemed acceptable (by Russian's running the game) but hideous symbolism of other countries is deemed unacceptable. This sort of hypocrisy (along with the promotion of the PATHETICALLY MINOR Russian navy into one of the major fleets of the game) is one of the least appealing features of WoWS to me.- 288 replies

Seattle Cruiser T9. ! God to play ?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Shipmate_Peter's topic in General Discussion
I would not wish to dispute anything you say (even taking into account that I personally hate the Tier 8 Cleveland so much that I shamefully used the Cherry Blossom Op to grind through it). After all "different strokes for different folks" and all that. My own view of Cleveland is probably coloured by the fact that it was a pleasant and effective tier 6 (for the average player) turned into a tier 8 which is highly dependent on player skill level. Yes - the good player can shine in it. But I feel the average guy suffers. On topic - Seattle feels like a sideways move from Cleveland in my experience, since any new tier 9 "goodies" are poor compensation for even poorer matchmaking. -
Newport scenario after changes
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Max_Kammerer's topic in General Discussion
Yes - especially for cruisers. The bots seem to have a real hardon for cruisers. (Happens in coop to a lesser extent also) -

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Wait....What? So if you already have the Dreadnought (as part of the Dual package with Vanguard) you get roughly 310k to 320k silver for working your but off doing missions? You can get more than that for a Missouri game .... in co-op...........while reading the paper. Signed, Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells. -
Co-Op Player - Got the Yamato, could get Musashi from Arsenal for Coal or save for Jean Bart - Which to choose?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
With a name like "Nelson" how could you NOT love it? Just sayin' -
You are taking this argument to absurd lengths to try to make your point. The old trick of "reductio ad absurdum". Were you educated by the Jesuits by any chance? P.S. If you want more variety in the game, try playing ships from some other country than Germany. I'm on record as saying that the German Fleet is my favourite, but you take it to extremes!

The storm circle (and how realistic is it to have a perfect circle instead of a weather front that sweeps from the whole of one side of the map to the other) adds complexity to the game. For the better players this probably adds to the challenge & variety of the game and is refreshing. So if you like the new storm mechanic then you are probably 1 a better than average player, and I salute you! However spare a thought for the average/below-average players that make up a substantial proportion of the game, and upon whom the good players feast to keep up their morale. Extra complexity just makes the game more difficult and frustrating. You get to the point where you ask yourself "Why Bother?". That's OK for ridding the game of irritating old gits such as me - but do you want to risk a potentially large number of players thinking the same and quitting? Make bad weather optional - and everyone will be happy. 1 A Strong correlation but nothing is ever 100%
