RN "Exeter" Marathon (starting March 1st)
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
A nice stroke of luck in one sense, though having an operation is a bit of a downer IMHO. I tend to get the opposite problem with missions, especially the Christmas ones. I have real life commitments that mean that I don't have the time to do them. But I have too many ships already. There a perfectly good ships going to waste because I don't have the time to play them. -

yeah..true...i can live with it also. Won't do the missions, but if Exeter DOES arrive in the Arsenal (as Crysantos suggested) for coal then I'll probably get it. Got over 400k sitting in my account and nothing that I want to buy in there yet. -

I'm glad that the package works for you. However, I already have 10 point British commanders sitting around idle, don't need the XP boost or flags, and Won't be able to get the 4000 doubloons. So effectively all I get is the ship & port slot. Not worth it for me. But, hey, that's OK. It's still first world problems at the end of the day! -

Funny that! You would almost think that they deliberately rigged set it up that way. [/sarcasm] -

Yes. Great guns and she can turn quickly for a BB. Best British BB for fun. As you say PEF looks good on paper, and he overall stats in game are good. But she was (is) a horror story for me and I think she'll be a port queen from now on. -

That's as maybe Toby, but the fact remains that out of 10 tier 6 battleships, the PEF is my weakest in terms of stats (and most unfun to play). In fact, Fuso, Queen Elizabeth, Mutsu do almost TWICE the damage and I played them when I was much less experienced. I really wanted to like PEF, because, "German" and all that. (All other premium German ships are great) -

Agree 100%. Cossack may well be most favourite ship to play in terms of fun! A nightmare for me. Could not get her to perform anywhere near to the level of other tier 6 battleships. (May have been due to a flood of good players in coop doing snowflake missions, leaving mere scraps for us seals) P.S. Don't forget that Kamikaze R was awarded via a mission! -

#1 which is chronically overrated in fragile ships. Give me better armour anyday. #2 You've had the opportunity to play the Exeter and see if you like the playstyle for yourself. Great. But for the rest of us it's a gamble to pay the £25.23 on a tier 5 ship (the missions being effectively closed off to coop peasants) -

Here's a summary of the missions. Not my idea of fun, but YMMV. Stage1, part 1 and Stage 4, part1 effectively mean that PVE-only players won't be able to complete the missions. -

Not trying to be argumentative - just adding data for discussion - but I kept my research notes from when I bought the Hood in may 2017 Package #1 : Hood, 12 point commander 9350 gold & Flags & upgrades two other packages with lesser captains & doubloons ..and.. Basic package: Just the Hood and a port slot. -

Yes. There was a conversation about it. Someone watching the stream asked them a question: Will the Exeter be available in the Premium Store? MrConway said "Yes" Crysantos said "No" They both looked at each other in amazement. MrConway said that it was already available in the shop. Crysantos said something like "That is the Admirals edition. A package that consists of HMS Exeter only will NOT be available because Wargaming are giving you the missions so that you can get it for free" MrConway then said that he agreed with Crysantos. There will be just the Admiral Package for now. The Crysantos said that in the future HMS Exeter might be put in the Arsenal. However he could not tell which of the 157 (*) different forms of in-game currency would be used to buy it. (*) I added the bit about 157 forms of in-game currency. Sorry, could not help myself. -

Just been watching the live stream with MrConway and Crysantos (who looks like a heckuva good player IMHO) two points. 1. If you want to buy the Exeter then you have to get the Admiral's edition. You cannot buy just the ship "Because Wargaming are giving you the missions so that you can get it for free". 2. Crysantos just played the Exeter and got 40k damage in it. He was very clever with islands and stuff, but his luck ran out when he got spotted an and Iron Duke ruined his day very quickly. Armour? wot armour? -
You'l be luck getting a fix for the sound problems. This is the only sound that Wargaming are interested in: ka-ching

Discrepancy in "Alaska" prices (for cash and for FreeXP if one converts "Regular XP" to "Free XP" with Doubloons) - deliberate or accidental?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Well, we got Crowns and Florins at the moment. Obviously created to match the fact that a British line is being launched. They could adopt a similar theme for future new lines, e.g. German Carriers: Bottles of Premium Beer French DDs: Fine Wines Italian Cruisers: Famous paintings Russian BBS: Characters from Russian Literature (i.e something purely imaginary) -

You think you've got problems? Check this out: Stage1, Part 1 Destroy 30 enemy aircraft. Reward: 5x Juliet Yankee Bissotwo and India Bravo Terrathree signals. Ship restrictions: Tier V–VIII US, British, and Commonwealth destroyers and cruisers. Battle type restrictions: Random, Co-op, and Ranked Battles. ### Try doing that in co-op where there are no enemy carriers! I've a good mind to just grab a Yank cruiser fitted up for maximum AA and join Random battles (Where I will be an utter liability to my team because I'm crap) until such time as I manage to shoot down the necessary number of planes. Great mission design.....not! I DETECT A [edited] UP. I think that Bot Carriers were supposed to be available for 0.8.1 and they are late. -

Agreed. So we have to add "Free XP" creep to "Power" creep and "Premium Ship" creep. Wargaming is full of creeps these days! -

I'd like to see an animation of the crew loading the S-400 missiles on the new Russian Battleships. -
Well, it's LIKE Horse vomit - but coming out of the other end. It reminds me of Microsoft instructions for closing down the computer: "First, press the START key..."

Never mind doing something about "Artificial Intelligence". Wargaming should do something about "Real Ignorance" amongst humans.
