HMS Furious torpedo aircraft should be Swordfish
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to HussarKaz's topic in General Discussion
Is that a sneak preview from the upcoming WG title: "Battles in the Roman Colosseum"? -
Lets be positive, for a change
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Pressurised's topic in General Discussion
"Lets be positive, for a change" OK....I was going to say "I think that Wargaming mission design is awful" so instead I'll say "I am positive that Wargaming mission design is awful" ON TOPIC What do I like about the game? - Shoot-and-scoot mid tier cruisers (American, German, French + IJN Kuma) - German Battleships - German & British DDs -
Giulio Cesare to be changed to T6.
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to BanzaiPiluso's topic in General Discussion
In a word - Yes. See my previous answer. Look, I am not saying you are wrong - far from it. I'm sure that many players would be happy for the inevitable nerf to GC to be a move to tier 6. I'm not. About the only thing worse than the phrase: "The Giulio Cesare will be moved to tier 6" is "By the Way dear, my mother is going to come and stay with us for two weeks. I said you wouldn't mind" -
As ever Darth you speak the truth. Now, this begs the question: "Why are they doing this?" Either a) they are Evil and just want to nerf CVs out of existence, or b) They are just incompetent. I'll be charitable, and say that it is "b"

For HMS Exeter marathon: how exactly are we supposed to shoot down 30 planes when there is nothing we can do to guarantee a CV in the match (except div'ing up)?

Wargaming are to mission design what Attila the Hun was to World Peace. -
I've used all available consumables as soon as the game started before. And I knew what I was doing. Several months ago there was some event where you got given little challenges, and one of them was "Use X consumables" I found that the way that the only way I could get it done in short co-op battles was to use the consumables needlessly and as soon as possible. Great mission design from Wargaming as usual. [/sarcasm]

Hood. Buffed in 0.8.0 and I played it since - transformed!

From the web page: With the release of Update 0.8.2, any remaining Crowns will be automatically converted into Florins at the exchange rate of 1:8. When Update 0.8.3 goes live, all Florins (including those in unopened Air Supply containers) will be converted into credits at an exchange rate of 1:4,000. https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/fly-strike-win/

That's true for life - but not for an arcade game. Meta changes, so you "Learn and adapt". If you still get a some sort of positive payoff you carry on playing. If not you quit. (Technically you can voluntarily quit life also of course, but that is such a dark discussion that I won't go there)

RN "Exeter" Marathon (starting March 1st)
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
A very kind offer! I could indeed just grind through PvP games to get the first mission done, but the real stopper is Stage 4, part 1: - earn 7 achievements. (Tier VI–VIII U.K. cruisers, destroyers, and battleships.) I checked out the "My Achievements" page in game. I get one achievement in every 7 .3 battles so that would take approximately 51 battles! Thank you, anyway. I know it is a long way off, but you are now added to the "Good Guy Christmas List". -
Exeter: Why is there only an "ADMIRAL PACK" ?!
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
*BUMP* @MrConway I am really, really interested on Wargaming's official stance on this. -
I'm sure that WG will figure out a way to tell you what ships you already own. The Arsenal ALREADY DOES THIS for Coal/Steel ships!

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Indeed it was - but you could complete the directive without doing that particular mission. With the Exeter mission you HAVE to do it. And you cannot do it in PvE. -

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Whilst I can see the point of view there (without necessarily agreeing with it), could you explain why Wargaming took a backwards step and decided to design the missions so that a co-op main cannot complete it? All the recent missions were doable in PvE alone - Halsey Campaign, Cossack missions, Dreadnought missions, "Fly Strike Win" etc. Why the backward step? -

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I can see your point of view. No-one is stopping me playing randoms except that I'm a useless waste of space to my team in them and they are unfun. What concerns me is that Wargaming have made all of the recent missions doable by co-op mains. Check out the Cossack missions, PEF missions, "Fly, Strike, Win", and even the Halsey campaign. This was because they realised just how many co-op mains there were and the fact that they felt excluded by such things as the Yamamoto campaign. (It is possibly better for the game if weaker players stick to co-op anyway, and leave competitive gaming to those who can - and want- to play properly.) To me - and again it is just a point of view - I don't want to be forced to play randoms again. It's a step backwards. But I still want to hear from Toby! -

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
No they are not! Co-op mains are a recognized group of players. Wargaming have said in the past that they are a tad surprised at how large this group is. Ahh I see you are a clan mate of his - no wonder. Do you really want to have even more players in your team that are absolute potatoes and reduce your chance of winning? -

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
OK. So now that it has been demonstrated to you that a co-op main CANNOT DO EVERY TASK - and thus cannot do the mission (It doesn't matter if they can do SOME. They need to be able to do ALL) I know -and respect - that you feel that you should defend Wargaming from the often very unfair criticism that it gets, but could you give me a straight answer please? @T0byJug How do you feel about co-op mains being excluded from the Free HMS Exeter Event? -

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
So @T0byJug How do you feel about this mission effectively stopping co-op mains from ever completing the Exeter mission. Considering how many people play co-op and buy consumables to ease their way through the (justifiably) low earnings in PvE, do you think this is wise Captain Mainwaring? RN "Exeter" Marathon (starting March 1st)
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Actually, you are right that people who spend money in the game deserve some recognition. Don't mind me - i just find the commercialisation of Wargaming a bit too much to take sometimes (If you want to discuss this further then please PM me) I'm also rather salty about the fact that since I am an atrociously unskilled coop peasant I can't do the missions since my usual tactic of playing loads of games to grind the objectives won't work in the case of a couple of the Exeter missions >>> hence I'm getting annoyed at almost everything from Wargaming out of frustration. -
Player Numbers. How much are they actually down?
