    HMS Agincourt

Maybe WG will troll us as an April 1st prank, and announce Agincourts as a Tier 4 ship with torpedoes and Smoke.
  2. Hotfix 0.8.1.1 https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/0811-hot-fix/ Fixed the following bugs: The range of the "Surveillance Radar" consumable on the battleship Missouri is now 9.5 km instead of 10 km. The correct value of 9.5 km was mentioned in the following article and erroneously increased in update 0.8.1;

    kicked again from server tonight

A-Ha! I see they are sneakily testing the torps for the new Russian Battleships line.

    Server issues (again)?

Just had to stop playing because the stuttering was incredible at times. It was intermittent. You can't aim your guns properly in these conditions. Had to abandon the daily missions.

What about a premium CV - let's say Ark Royal?

P.S. While we are at it, Wargaming have not provided us with any Special captains with skills optimised for Carriers. It would be an ideal opportunity to release the Ark in a bundle with such a special captain. I dunno, we could maybe call him "Captain Noah"

What about a premium CV - let's say Ark Royal?

You are right - that is what they SHOULD do. But WG have set a precedent already for having multiple British premiums of the same type on the same tier. i. Tier7 battleships: Hood, Nelson, Duke of York
  7. Well in the light of the post immediately before yours I certainly WOULD be surprised!

Giulio Cesare stays as it is + balance of other premiums

Looks like I am part of the minority then. I agree with Aragathor 100% on this. (Anyone else want to post about this - we could have our own version of "I am Spartacus" going on )

    LWM Exeter review

However you handle the grammar of the sentence the fact remains that any discussion of HMS Exeter has to recognise that she was a HEAVY cruiser.

So what is the consensus on CVs ?

    A "No Deal CVexit" option.
  12. From the official notes: With the release of Update 0.8.2, any remaining Crowns will be automatically converted into Florins at the exchange rate of 1:8. When Update 0.8.3 goes live, all Florins (including those in unopened Air Supply containers) will be converted into credits at an exchange rate of 1:4,000.
  13. You have to get the "Herpes" and "Curious" BEFORE they let you buy "implausible"

So what is the consensus on CVs ?

.....except of course...you don't have to accept it! The really great thing is that none of us are forced to play World of Warships. We do it because we get some sort of reward from playing it. When it becomes more like work then we can just stop and do something else. Imagine that you have a favourite TV show and the producers make major changes to it. You may like these changes and think that they make the show even better. But if you do NOT like them then you don't have to adapt to what the producers want to give you. You "vote with your feet" (as the saying goes) and just stop watching it.

So what is the consensus on CVs ?

Overall, a very good, thoughtful and considered post (Which is why I gave it a "Like") But you forgot one key category of players in your summary above, namely, players who CAN adapt to a new meta ....but think it is crappy and "unfun". Wargaming do not really want to lose those sort of players, and many critics of the CV rework on the forum actually fall into this category.

So what is the consensus on CVs ?

Seems like a good idea, but I have some concerns (see below) So in other words, if you get tired of seeing your tier 8 ship matched against tier 10 ships, you can team up with a (clan) mate who has a tier 8 carrier and avoid this! Wearing my hat as "The average player who is not as skilled as most of the people on the forum", I have to say that giving CVs preferential treatment in matchmaking will cause resentment among no CV players if they still have to put up with +/- 2 Matchmaking. ESPECIALLY at tier 8.

Poll: How should WG handle overperforming premium ships?

Then they had better provides something worth buying in the Arsenal then - and I don't mean vague promises to "do something" from the excellent Mr Conway. If they uptier the GC then I strongly suggest that WG let people play the ship "on trial" the same way that they are currently doing with owners of carriers and theCV rework. It might cool down some inflamed passions if owners get the chance to actually play the ship at tier6 because they may actually like it there. (Not me of course - I'd like to rip the testicles off whoever it was that suggested uptiering to the dreaded tier 6. And it must be a man because women are not that stupid)

Cloned (and similar) ships: too many!

@Midway67 You missed one: Upcoming Russian Battleship line & Godzilla

Poll: How should WG handle overperforming premium ships?

That's exactly what I would say if the character of the game was different. Trouble is that up-tiering can lead you into a whole new flavour of gameplay. The Belfast could be moved and balanced against tier 8 ships. But then a player who only wants to play her at tier 7 (maybe even sets Tier 7 as the highest tier that they are prepared to play because of "fun" considerations). But Tier 8 Matchmaking gets you into games where you experience the delight of facing the elite of tier X - and getting pounded like a dockside hooker.
  20. Good for you! Those islands had it coming. They are always leaping out in front of me to cause me to beach my ship.
  21. Got the Herpes and the Curious. (or as I see it, 2 port slots, 2 scrub captains, and about 2,750,00 silver.) Currently hold 73 crowns and 580 florins. According to my tracking spreadsheet (WTF "tracking spreadsheet"? Yes, I put the "Anal" in "Analyst") I am projected to get a final total of 185 crowns and 1100 florins. At the conversion rate of 1 crown = 8 florins this would give me 2580 florins, or 10,320,000 silver. This is great peparation for the upcoming Russian BB line. Well done Wargaming!
  22. Yeah - but as part of a general change affecting every ship - not a targetted nerf on a Premium. How many Angels can dance on the head of a pin, Colonel?
  23. It was 2km, but got changed WITH EVERY SHIP IN THE GAME after the change to spotting mechanics in Patch 0.6.12 from the Patch Notes: As a reminder, according to the previous mechanics, a ship that fired from Smoke Screen was completely invisible, and it could be only detected from an assured acquisition distance of 2 km (3 km provided the Target Acquisition System Modification 1 is installed) or with the help of the Hydroacoustic Search or Surveillance Radar consumable. Now, if a ship that hides in or behind a Smoke Screen fires, she becomes visible. Each ship will have the Detectability after firing the main guns in smoke parameter, which depends on the gun calibre and type of the ship. See parameter values for each ship at the end of the section.
  24. You will get an inferior alternative though - that's the whole part of a nerf. You reduce the capabilities of the new version of the ship so that it is inferior to the old version. You make it inferior.
