I've also done some experiments by de-cloaking my destroyer in the middle of fights between friendly and bot battleships, so that I could test the powers of the bots to switch to HE ammo. CONCLUSION Bots seeem to have a 0% Expert Loader skill. i.e. instantaneous switching of ammo types to HE when a DD appears. Maybe they have gotten fed up with all the savage beatings inflicted on them by human players (especially since co-op became the logical choice for certain missions, even amongst good players)

Yes I have tried it. Usual tactic is: 1) Get between the two battlships 2) Check tim when bot fires a salvo 3) Wait 20 seconds for some tests, 25 seconds for others 4) Open fire 5) Immediately spotted. Immediate "Priority Target" indicator goes to "1" 6) Bot BB fires and my DD takes damage 7) Post battle I check what I got hit with. Postscript: Tested cruisers. They DO seem to hit with whatever they had loaded

PvE is Co-op (as I am sure you know already) (*) So you can use Admiral Hipper whenever you want. (*)You probably had a temporary brain-fart about this. At my age I get them all the time, so I am not pointing any fingers.

Tiers 2-4: Not played for reasons given by previous posters T5: Kamikaze. (Already have the Kamikaze R. Played one game for Snowflake. First enemy shell detonated me!) T6: Prinz Eitel Friedrich (Posted many times about my struggles with this ship) T6: Huanghe (Can't waste valuable time on a ship without any tech tree ATM) T7: Indianapolis (I've come to respect Pensacola at T6, but struggle badly in all other US heavy cruisers, particularly this one) T8: Vanguard (I tried to get the hang of this ship but just can't so I've now given up) T8: Prinz Eugen (I prefer its sister Admiral Hipper. Because I personally find the heal only slightly useful, but the RoF of Hipper is very useful in PvE)

My strategy. 1. Get new ship 2. Recruit scrub captain 3. Train captain for 10/14 pts as appropriate using Elite XP 4. Play battles in new ship 5. After a series of terrible performances, blame captain and have him shot, Admiral Byng style. Rinse and repeat from step 2.

Well they recently changed things so that you can by flags for credits - but they seem a bit overpriced IMHO (also the coal price)

I feel that all nations and regular lines are roughly equal in terms of performance, with the odd slightly below average, or slightly above average, ship here and there. In terms of what matches my playstyle and what I consider to be enjoyable I would say that the most satisfying lines for me are (in no particular order): * German battleships * British Destroyers * US Light cruisers * French Cruisers before intor of main Battery Reload Booster The least satisfying to play (again in no particular order) * IJN Torpedo boats * IJN Battleships * US Battleships * British Cruisers Overall, of course, I like the German fleet best. I find them the most handsome ships also!
