Not officially, No. You don't play many Coop games Colonel, so you probably won't have noticed it. (I am a potato, but you are a good player and play competitive battles ). However, I also feel that the income from from coop battles is lower than it used to be. I've even top scored and lost money - which never used to happen. Of course coop income should not be anywhere as good as Random battles. That is not in dispute. The point being made is that for some reason the differential seems to have increased. Whether it should have done so is another debate entirely.

*DISCLAIMER* If you have not already spotted it, I am in the same clan as the OP. I've played many Operations in division with the OP. All I can say is that he usually finishes top of the scoreboard.

Firstly, I accept 100% that I may have misunderstood the rules/mechanics. If so I would be grateful if someone could provide me with a valid link. Thanks in advance. ISSUE: Russian BB Captain needs retraining now that 0.8.4 is live - and I don't think he should. 1) I received a mission to get the tier 7 Russian Battleship "Sinop" in a container drop, which i completed. 2) I placed a captain in "Sinop" with decent battleship-type skills and played the ship with 100% skills active 3) The captain's specialization was still set to his OLD ship. i.e. "Sinop" acted like a premium ship in that regard. 4) My understanding was that when 0.8.4 went live the captain in "Sinop" would become specialized in that ship and NO TRAINING WOULD BE REQUIRED. 5) The actual situation is that the captain still shows the specialization of his OLD ship, and underneath the captain's image in port is the bold text "RETRAINING REQUIRED" Is this a bug, or is it "Working as designed"? If WAD where is it stated, please?

Bug:? Captain in Russian BB needs retraining

Thank you! So it is just me being "over optimistic" ..... AKA "stupid" I never thought that I would get senile quite so quickly after I retired, but I obviously have. -
How about some happy little clouds?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Belustigungspanda's topic in General Discussion
If he says "No", then keep in touch I have 194 ships, including 61 premiums, and 18 at tier 10 Also 13 Nineteen-point captains , about 86 million in silver, 1.7 million in Free Xp, over 4 million in Elite XP and a few gold doubloons. Not that marvelous compared to most - but worth having for some players i suppose. -

As a player I cannot praise you enough. You are more than twice the player that I would ever be, and you perform to a level of high excellence in all classes, which indicates to me that you have a great feel for the game...almost an instinct you might say. But as a poster on the forum you lack empathy with players weaker than yourself who are understandably frustrated by the CV rework. You can only see the carrier issue from your own elitist standpoint as someone who can do extremely well at the game, both at individual level and as a member of a great clan. And let us not forget that the pre-rework Midway was your top ship in terms of enemies destroyed - and your excellent performances in the "new" Midway can hardly be called shabby with a 72% win rate. (Which is just to say that you have an interest in carriers from your own paricular experience, just like the rest of us) Of course most us have tried to improve through study and practice, so smug advice to "git gud" are just insulting. I'm glad that you did not use that particular cliche. "Mr Average" is nowhere near your level and thus don't see it as a simple matter of "stop whining and just play the game" (and act as targets for the likes of great player such as yourself). Here's the bottom line. Wargaming are risking losing lots of players, either totally, or in people playing a lot less because they are trying to keep Carrier fans happy. In an ideal world Wargaming could keep players of all classes happy with perfect balancing nd gameplay. But it is not an ideal world. Carriers are still a minority interest, and it feels strongly to me that we are in a situation described by the old English saying: "The tail is wagging the dog". -
The "Victory" Competition: Time Is Running Out!
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
You of course are correct if I have enough time to get the maximum number of points per day (500) by playing normal mode. But I said in my post " if I devote all the free time that I have left, after "Real Life in the Summer" has taken it's share of my time. " I don't have enough free time to play enough to get 500 points. I estimate that I will get 300 on average - which yields 10 tokens per day. So, 25 days (the max that I personally can play) times 10 = 250 tokens. Add the two tokens per day for just playing = another 50. Then 12 or 13 days on the winning side would be 24 or 26 tokesn, average = 25 Add them together: 250 + 50 + 25 = 325. Hopefully this makes my calculation clearer! P.S. If you are actively participating in Victory part 2 then "Good Luck, Captain!" -
Update 0.8.4: Soviet Battleships!
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Yep, they pulled "another stunt". Well Wargaming you can stick your $hity credits where the sun don't shine. A pretty lacklustre "special" commander. Ships that I have already, and a collection that gives pretty camo that does not yield extra advantages, and the ability to fly two pretty flags. (Of course I only dress like this at the weekend) -
The "Victory" Competition: Time Is Running Out!
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I estimate that I can get approximately 325 tokens (probably less, because this assumes that I'll be on the winning side 50% of the time) if I devote all the free time that I have left, after "Real Life in the Summer" has taken it's share of my time. There is nothing in the rewards in part 2 that make me want to "push the boundaries" and get more tokens. I guess I'll give this a miss - maybe even take the whole game at a slower pace and take some time off while this event is running. -
The party of the first part shall be known in this contract as the "Party of the First Part". Wargaming leaned all it knows about explaining things from the Marx brothers.

Update 0.8.4: Soviet Battleships!
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
There seem to be two ways that you could potentially get ships from containers in Patch 0.8.4. #1 via "In the service of the Motherland" containers that have a chance to dropping V Okhotnik, VI Molotov, VII Leningrad and VIII Lenin; and #2 via a supercontainer, which may have VII Z-39, VIII Cossack, V Marblehead Lima, V Exeter, VII Lazo, VIII Wichita, VIII Irian, IX Azuma, IX Alaska, VI Prinz Eitel Friedrich, VI W. Virginia 1941, VIII Vanguard, VII Nelson, VIII Lenin, IX Jean Bart, VIII Kaga, VIII Graf Zeppelin, VIII Saipan, and VIII Enterprise. My question: If you already have the ship dropped in the container what happens? do you; A) Get no ship, B) Get gold equivalent to Wargaming's estimate of the value of the ship, C) Get a ship which YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE as substitute for the duplicate ship in the container? -

Upcoming Captain Respec - Ideal US Light & Heavy Cruiser skills?
Admiral_H_Nelson posted a topic in General Discussion
The Carrier re-work has confused me about what sort of captain skills I should be using for American cruisers. There is a set of skills that I feel that I really want to have for each ship, but I am unsure as to how to use the remaining captain skill points. These are my current preferences: Apart from The two Tier X ships, these cruisers will be used in Operations. I'm guessing that the most important AA skill is now "Manual AA" rather than "AFT". Also guessing that there is a choice to be made between "BFT" and "Demo Expert" for light cruisers, since "IFHE" cuts down on fire chances. "Expert loader" is also a skill that I like personally, but YMMV. What do you recommend that I could spend the spare skillpoints on? -
What! Are you some sort of sadist? Though I suppose that being a sadist/masochist (depending upon you skill level) helps to play CV.

Do cyclones and strormfronts ruin the gaming experience?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
That would probably a good suggestion to mitigate the slight disadvantage that cruisers-without-decent torps face in a snowstorm. A cyclone that forces close combat is still a problem though, since as soon as you open fire you are spotted. It's the being spotted at close range at all that is the problem. Yes you do get a cyclone warning and you are correct that you should act upon that warning if you can. Often, though, you are engaged in combat before the cyclone hits and many times you can not safely disengage from that combat in order to prepare for the cyclone. -
Did anyone get the Russian BB from "Soviet Era Containers" earned by playing (i.e. "Free" one via "Victory Competition" - not bought via "Premium Shop")?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
"See the "?" ?" This reads as a rhetorical question rather than a genuine one. See, like I said - subtelty is not your strong point. "I really wanted to know, but as you said you did not have a problem with my post and therefore attacked me for no reason other than being me, which I suspected." So, in addition to being somewhat lacking in comprehension you now reveal yourself to have a persecution complex. A paranoid shill in the forum - that's all we need! Look Colonel, mate, if my responses to your posts offend your tender sensitivities then I shall ignore them. I suggest that you do the same to my posts for your own peace of mind. -

I don't have one. I was answering your suggestion that I was accusing Wargaming of Fraud. Jeez, Colonel, get a grip. You are becoming embarrassing. -

Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Let me give you a short English lession (though I know I am banging my head against a brick wall because the only voice you listen to is in your head) Fraud is (to quote wikipedia which in this case is as good as any) "In law, fraud is deliberate deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain, or to deprive a victim of a legal right." Wargaming are not deceiving anybody - they are withholding information. I know that this may be a subte point to you, and subtelty is not your strong point, but try to get your head round it. -

Don't try and use rational argument to the Colonel - whatever you say he will defend Wargaming over this. In any case: THIS GAMBLING WITHOUT TELLING THE PUNTERS THE ODDS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. -
Do cyclones and strormfronts ruin the gaming experience?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
It depends upon the ship that I am playing. They fall into two groups: A) Battleships, Destroyers and Cruisers with potent torpedoes = fine B) Cruisers without torpedoes = not fine If Wargaming are going to make these weather effects more frequent then I hope that they take this into account and buff group B (above) -
The “Victory” Event. Who’s Got Lazo?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
You know how the mafia Wargaming work by now. Converting Allowance Tokens into Provision Tokens would make it too easy to get the cruiser. you "have till next patch to earn enough for the cruiser". P.S. How many s*dding Soviet premium cruisers does this game need? Give us a mid-tier German premium cruiser already! -
Using IFHE on Des Moines and Hindenburg?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to VeidraVontae's topic in General Discussion
Because it is more sociable to discuss these things in the wider audience of the forum, rather than the mere confines of a single clan. It is entirely possible that others may be interested in the OP's question. Let knowledge and enlightenment spread forth upon an ignorant World. -
I got the same offer, even though I joined in September 2015! Bought 4 Russian Containers and got the Izmail and Sinop missions

Weekend Highlights – Lazo and Golden Week
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
For a limited time, VII Lazo can be obtained for 1,500 Allowance Tokens in the Armory. OK - enough with being cute with the guessing games. What is Wargaming's definition of "a limited time" Please, could you tell us an end date? Thank you -
Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see the Royal Navy have "real" cruisers. I've bored people to tears for a long time about how much I hate the special characteristics & playstyle of the current RN cruiser line. (Bl**dy loathe it in fact) But a premium RN light cruiser would have to fit in with the current circus freaks, or it would be no use as a captain trainer.
