Question about new Japanese Destroyers Branch
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Zintio's topic in General Discussion
These are all good points. I think feedback and questions such as this are valuable to Wargaming. They can't think of everything - nobody can. However if they get feedback from players about their worries, and needs, then they can create a solution that does not upset anyone, as Mr Conway says upthread. P.S. I can think of another issue. 1) Captain in Tier 6 Mutsuki using captain's skills with 10km torpedoes. 2) Mutsuki moved to tier 5 and loses 10km torpedoes (only 6km, as I understand it) 3) Mutsuki captain needs a respec of Captain's skills OR.......free move to the new Tier 6 ship AND all the optional modules that improve torpedoes to 10km should be given free. (Player to choose what they want best) -
It's a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you will get a higher standard of teams & players, since the vast majority will be as highly skilled as your good self. On the other hand, because the enemy team is better it will be more difficult to get the damage, caps, XP etc. Fewer noobs sailing along showing broadside with no regard for the consequences.

Will the RN cruiser make high tier battles worse?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
FOR HIRE AS A MERCENARY Name: Graham Hardy (Royal Navy Commodore with 12 skill points.) Currently serving in HMS Campbeltown and receiving counselling following a threat by superiors to post me to the upcoming Royal Navy cruiser line. Wishes to play in a competitive cruiser. Nationality no object. Will bring my own supplies of tea. -
Drools! I hope this makes it into the game.

I believe that there will certainly be some reduction in the number of people playing higher tiers (9 & 10), but I can't guess how big this reduction will be. Potentially it may be big enough to cause tier 8 ships to get the kind of matchmaking patterns that toer 5 ships are facing right now - i.e. predominantly being up-tiered.

I tried the steering improvements on Admiral Hipper and Mogami, and they seem to be a very noticeable (and worthwhile) improvement. I'm glad that Wargaming have decided to keep them, though I still favour concealment in general. The only nagging doubt that I have about the steering improvements is that they only apply to tiers 8 to 10. By buffing ships at these tiers it is an indirect nerf to lower tier ships who get dragged into a higher tier battle (as if they didn't have problems enough).

I think that you are right, but if things carry on as they are then it will be cruiser players that go and play a different game. I am mainly a cruiser player (though I have played 27% of my games in other types of ship) and I am getting completely fed up TBH. It's not only the BB plague that is frustrating, but also being bottom tier far more frequently that being top tier. It's a double blow - Tier 5 cruiser versus Tier 7 BBs ,,, AND more of the beggars as well.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I understand of course that WoWS is an arcade game, and for balance reasons there has to be some stretching or distortion of reality. e.g giving a ship better rate of fire than she really had, or increasing/decreasing firing range, unlimited torpedo reloads and so on. IMHO Wargaming have "Jumped the Shark" with their ideas for British Cruisers. They are trying to create a type of ship that never even existed. (Mainly because in real life it would have been as useless as the line will be in game) Jumping the shark -
*Applause* A very honest and fair minded post.

That's OK. Give me a 2016 Cruiser and I'll be just fine playing this game. A Ticonderoga class cruiser will do.- Mk 41 VLS (Vertical Launch System) for AA defence and possible anti-ship work - range in excess of 74km- 2 x Phalanx for close in defence- SPY-1B Radar- 8 x RGM-84 Harpoon missiles for Anti Ship Work (Range approx 120km)- 2 x Mk45 5 inch guns (20 RPM, 24.1 km effective range, 30 degrees per second traverse) -
@Hanszeehock - sincerest congratulations on your performance is Khabarovsk @Ictogan - sincerest congratulations on your performance is Udaloi I played both ships on Public Test in the last few days. Both were fully equipped, and had 15 point captains. I never got close to your AVERAGE in any battle. Sincerest respect to your skills. I think I'll just give this game up!

Spithas can defend himself - I've seen his "vigorous" postings on this forum before now. I must point out - as an independent third party - that he is definitely NOT a stat padder! He is actually a very fine player. I've learned a lot from his advice on cruiser play from he has put on the forums. What he doesn't know about cruiser play isn't worth knowing! Just saying . . . .

Excellent post in total. I have chosen the point that sums up the whole issue quite brilliantly. It's no good have "national characteristics" which give a nation a particular strength in return for nerfing the ships in other areas and then as soon as people start screaming about it (Cruiser HE, Russian gunboat, Japanese torps..whatever) then nerfing that strength. They've nothing left.

What is a point of WG in this game?
Admiral_H_Nelson replied to _interceptor_80's topic in General Discussion
Liked. The whole post is very good. I'd just like to re-arrange what you said slightly, because I don't fit exactly into either of these two types of player. Combine the idea of "a whole lot of people see the difference between these 2 and result in people playing for fun going into a tier 10 match and spending the majority of their time shooting at targets 20+km away and sailing down the 10/1/A/J line." with "If you generate your fun from performing to the best of your abilities and see it pay off, then do high tier random battles. " To make the subtle, but important difference: "If you generate your fun from performing to the best of your abilities and see it pay off, then do high tier random battles. play at a tier which is challenging to you, but where you can still be competitive" -
(now i am only waiting on konig albert Godot ) FIFY P.S. Flags arrived this morning. No hurry to use them ATM.

I think that you speak for the majority of players, but (sadly) not me. I have both the Kamikaze R (won in the event), and the Atago (purchased as a stupid wallet warrior). I recognize that both are very good ships. However Atago at tier 8 is currently no use to me. I need a mid-tier IJN cruiser. (Something equivalent to Marblehead, Murmansk, Molotov) If I have to do another tier 5 grind after the IJN reorg, I'll probably take out the Kamikaze R at last! (Completed the last grind in Minekaze - another very good ship)

Now confirmed by WG on the updated Public Test 5.12 page http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/public-test-0512/ "We have encountered a technical issue with the planned Public Test changes to the in-game economy. The fix for this will be applied on 23 September. We apologise for any inconvenience."

WOULD WG STAFF CARE TO COMMENT ON THE FOLLOWING: Post #287 in thread http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/62286-512-changes/page__st__280#topmost "A potentially interesting point by WellDone: Source: http://forum.worldof...номика/#topmost This iteration of public test contains no changes to the economy. Please stop panicking till you have a reason to. I appologize for not informing the players about the absence of changes regarding the economy."

Don't say that! I was thinking of starting a new online business selling Pitchforks and Burning Torches(1). I was counting on you as one of my best customers. (1) I was thinking of calling it "The W(h)ine Store"

With a basic captain, yes. However, people are putting their captains from their tier 9/10 ships into Kamikaze R, and these captains have lots of skills, chief of which is "Concealment Expert". Some are Seal Clubbing of course, but others (maybe the big majority) are just escaping from nerfed high-tier Japanese DDs back to the fun of mid-tier play.
