There is no reason to make mistakes and die just because the matchmaker gives you a weak team. A team can win, a team can lose. But this is no excuse for individual mistakes.

darky_fighter replied to Zenturio52's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen

Reine Mathematik. -
It is part of the discussion:

You are the guy who has obviously a problem with my survival rate. I showed you the EU server survival rates. And what is your response? You are only trolling now because you have no points anymore and you know it. This is so poorly! Learn to dodge AP shells which are shot from a 12-14 km distance. Even cruiser players can dodge such shells! Your Gearing is faster then my Kagero and has the same turning radius. I can dodge, you can't. There is something wrong! Or you are just a whining troll! I am outta here. This is no discussion, this is flaming and trolling and whining. This is poorly. This is the discussion style of some guys here. Learn social skills. Should I write you a social skill guide? I will combine it: "darky's social skill and dodge guide"

This is right. Fun fact: WG said last year: Source But they buff BBs and debuff DDs. My point is: WG protects BBs. This is a fact which we can't change. They debuff DDs with more/stronger radar, hydro and so on or a high AP shell damage. You can dodge AP shells with skill but nobody can dodge radar.

darky_fighter replied to Zenturio52's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
anti-air builds getting total useles
darky_fighter replied to _Ghostship_'s topic in General Discussion
You played 2 matches within the last 7 days. I played a bunch of matches and had almost in every match CVs. -
Gearing is faster then Kagero. Average survival rates (source: warships.today, EU server): Gearing 35 % (Battles: 1,116,762) Kagero 31 % (Battles: 1,101,240) I incrased the sample size enormously but I didn't find a statistical clue.

There is a difference when it comes to DD dog fights. But tell me the difference when it comes to radar or plane spotting? Ok, Gearing has better AA then my Kagero but we both have to handle with the same planes and radar ships.
-
Kagero is a DD, it is high tier and I play against T 10 ships. I play exactly a DD which is part of this discussion. There is no mystery about T 10 ships or T 10 players. Give me the shimakaze and I do the same play style sh.it which I have done with the Minekaze, Umikaze or Kagero. Shimakaze has a little bit higher detection range, a torpedo spam feature, is faster and has better guns. That is all.
-
That sounds arrogant and disrespectful. Like your response to my first post: DDs don't have much HP and almost no armor. They don't forgive bad decisions. That is the reason why I wrote: "To survive in DDs is a matter of thinking..." There is nothing wrong about this statement. You have a problem with BB AP shells, I don't have a problem with these shells. We have different opinions. There is also nothing wrong about it. Our opinions are influenced by our experiences. We have different experiences. That is all.

I saw your thread and had the same feeling like this user: If there is no change then it is even better. I try to be helpful. I try to discuss in detail. But I am not one of these guys who write "AP shells killed me!!!!!111 Debuff AP shells". You can see a lot of these threads about torpedo damage, fire damage and so on.
-
I say that I almost never get sunked. That is a huge difference. Radar, Hydro and RPF changed my gameplay much more than the new effect of AP shells. British BB radar is more annoying.
-
Why do you cut the next sentence? It is the same about radar cruisers and AP shells.

When I play the Kagero in T 10 matches then I usually play against random players and not TTT or KKTM clan members. A lot of T 10 players play poorly. I see e. g. a lot of T 10 smoke campers who are camping without using their brains. The result is: But when I read forum threads I often read that is impossible to beat +2 tier DDs and you have no chance against smoke camping and so on. I am not talking about clan matches. I am talking about random matches and it is possible to survive in these random matches, even as a solo DD player. The skill level isn't high in random matches so I talk about basics. I don't often see these basics in matches.

The topic is "Destroyer survivability". Yes, the enemy spots me also. But never in critical situations e. g. 6 km distance, an enemy radar cruiser is there and I have no island cover. That would be just poor play and bad chance/risk situations. Another example: How many DD players chose this way? 90 % or more? This is a bad strategy. You can't see e. g. enemy radar cruisers but they know exactly when you are in the cap zone. Go this way. You have much more options, you see more and you use your stealth advantage. You go in the cap zone when you know what is around you and you don't have to gamble. Such things may be simple. But players don't play this way. They are often just looking for action and the shortest way which the enemy can anticipate easily.
-
The "trick" is to get in the right position before you see the enemy radar DM. You can do this with a Benson, Fletcher or Gearing too. They all can kite an enemy radar cruiser easily. They all have low detectability ranges. If, for example, RPF gives you a hint and you don't see anything in this direction your preparations can start. This is no arrogance (I am indeed a very self-critical person), this is just logical thinking and this is the WoWs part which I like.

Kagero, Tier 8, 51 Solo-Matches, 49 survived, WR 67 %, Survival Rate 96 %. That's me and my play style and that is the reason why I write about DDs and survivability. In a lot of these 51 matches I was even low tier against T 10 ships. I know the 11,7 km RU-Radar, I know Hakuryus which are hunting DDs like me, I know the deadly secondaries of german T8+ BBs and I know T 10 DDs which are faster and have stronger guns then my little Kagero. But I also know when I can attack to make pressure and when I have to play more passively. I know some good DD players who only attack very aggressively. This makes fun and is good to farm noobs but it can be a problem when you come in situations which have a bad chance/risk-ratio. So I like it when it is difficult to play DDs. I have to think more and I can outperform other DD players. One example of my play style: It is easier to play against a DM then a Belfast. Why? You can spot the DM but the DM can't see you. Press F3 and let your teammates make the dirty work. Cruisers are so vulnerable. But you have to be in the right position. Here are two pictures from my DD guide: You don't want to meet an enemy DD or an enemy radar DM in this situation: This is the situation which we want: Kite enemy DDs and radar cruisers until they are dead. My detection advantage isn't very big. But it is enough to make enemy DDs and radar cruiser suffer.

1. Shells which are fired from a distance like 12-14 km need a long time to hit you. You can dodge these shells. 2. Do you use RPF? Most people don't use it. They think: "It is useless. You have no faster reload or something." But you get information about ships you can't see. You don't run with full speed into a Belfast if you have a clue that there is a Belfast. So Belfast will see you only for a very short time and Belfast used a radar charge for nothing. After this short meeting you come back and spot the Belfast for your teammates. Then it is just a vulnerable cruiser. (I don't like the radar mechanic in WoWs but I have learnt to deal with it.) 3. CV and planes. These guys are really a problem especially when you play a Kagero which has no AA. If you see fighters coming then fall back. If there is enough distance between you and the enemy BBs they can't hit you.

Ok, I apologize for my rant but I am a main DD player and not a BB noob who defends his ship class. By the way: You can see old stats at warships today: These were my first IJN-DDs and 60%+ Solo-WR (no divisions) and over 90 % Srv were never a big problem. As you can see in my signature I play the same style with my Kagero. Even better. I almost never die.
