Tell me more about this "experience thing". I play High Tier and I know how it works. This is not rocket science. Some people play thousand and thousand of High Tier matches and I think I play on a higher level then some of these guys. I analyze all my matches. I am not just grinding. By the way: It is more difficult to fight with a Minekaze against a Belfast then with a Kagero against a Des Moines.

Why are some divisions so unreasonable?
darky_fighter replied to pra3y's topic in General Discussion
Divisions are often people with the same mindset. A division can consist of 3 strong players or 3 weak potatoes. -
We have an external balancing (DDs vs. other ship classes) and an internal balancing (gun boats vs. torpedo boats). We don't need a gun boat buff if we consider external and internal balancing. This is right. But we have information which give us a strong clue. I can't see points which justify a gun boat buff and a BB and torpedo boat nerf. If you talk about penetration damage on DDs you talk about balancing.

I showed you a lot of stats (random and ranked matches) which underline my statements. So who is ignoring facts? Tora Tora Tora knows such things also when they do clan matches. So please be honest. Random, Ranked and Clan Matches. It is a Benson world. It is a gunboat world.

HSF Harekaze and Graf Spee in the premium shop
darky_fighter replied to Nechrom's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, do the DD knife fight. ^^ I bet my money on the Benson. A 1:1 gun fight against the Benson is a bad chance-risk-situation for the Harekaze.- 146 replies

There is no conflict between these statements. Dodging is matter of skill. The damage of BB AP shells is a matter of balancing. Every DD player needs the dodging skill when he is spotted by planes or radar. Gunboats are also spotted by torpedo boats. So they have to dodge more often. But this is a balancing issue because they have stronger guns.

Yeah, people don't want to hear such things. We call that cognitive dissonance. People reduce the magnitude of their cognitive dissonance in four ways. One way is: Ignore or deny information that conflicts with existing beliefs. ^^

CV Ideen zum Skillgap und der AA von über 21 Spielern
darky_fighter replied to Zenturio52's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen

The balancing between gunboats and torpedo boats is irrelevant? No, you have to balance all ships. The current balancing is good. DD-Gunboats are strong. Khaba, Z-52 and Grozo win matches. I don't see that it is necessary to buff DDs in general and to buff gunboats/nerf torpedo boats in particular.

Ranked stats: Benson was the king.
-
The (old) Fubuki was also be taken to battle very often but the DD meta was the Benson and the win rate of the Benson was also higher. 0,12 % is good. There is no need to buff the Gearing in comparison to the Shima.
-
Last two weeks: It is almost the same ranking. Shima always gets the last place.
-
I guess this is the problem. When there were team matches or T 8 ranked matches the DD meta was the Benson, not the (old) Fubuki. Why? Because the Benson was faster, had much stronger guns and killed the Fubuki easily. But this is a team game. If enough teammates are around me then a Benson couldn't attack my Kagero easily. The Benson must be more cautious. If my teammates can't support me because their shells don't make much damage the Benson would laugh. So less BB AP shell damage is a gunboat buff and a torpedo boat nerf. That is really not necessary. Look at the average win rates.

Topic of this thread: "Normal penetration damage on DDs" This includes IJN-DDs. And by the way: I played the Gearing on the PTS. You can dodge shells with the Gearing and a Fletcher can be played very stealthy. Don't tell me lies.

The challenge is to find the right balance. There are situations where you can attack and make massive damage but there could be also situations in the same match where you have to play passively. Emotions like overconfidence or infuriation aren't good. I guess it is also a skill to be a rational and not an emotional player. Example:

Wie ausgeglichen sind eure Schlachten
darky_fighter replied to Dargunet's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
No, because the damage in one match isn't important. But you can see what the player does. What is his strategy? Does he move to the right positions? Is he isolated from his teammates? Does he gunfights which are disadvantageous? Does he minimize the chances of getting hit by e. g. torpedos? Simple example: When you see an Atlanta in open water then there is no further question. This player doesn't understand his ship. What about you? Maybe you lost your self-doubt because you have played so many matches. Maybe every player with less matches is wrong in your eyes.

I play the same game as you. The same shells hit me. But I am fine with this balancing and I found my playstyle. You can't tell me that you have to learn the game completely from scratch again with every new ship. And high tier isn't a place where only the best of the best players are. Definitely not. It is also pure noob slaughtering. You just need to watch 1-2 matches and you know if a player is good or not. I have no problems in high tier and that fact won't change.

There could be many reasons for different perspectives. There was a time when there was a shimakaze long distance torp spam. Why? Because it was so easy to play a Shimakaze, spam torps from long distances and get damage. What was the reaction of WG? They increased torpedo detectability. This is bad because it punish all DD player types. It is better to make it harder to play DDs but don't limit the potential of DDs. It is a matter of balancing. WG won't give you DDs which are easy to play and have also a huge potential.
-
What is the reload time of the Tirpitz and what is the reload time of the Charles Martel? Tirpitz has no second chance to hit me.
-
BB players whined also and they got their buffs. It is the same thing. You just need a bunch of whining players and you get your buffs. My last Kagero match: A 7k AP BB salvo and a 4k HE CA salvo. But it is fair. I sunk both guys. The balancing is ok. DDs are a fragile class. They have some great advantages but they also need some disadvantages.
-
And you are just a whining player. Adapt your playstyle and don't whine so much.
-
No, nobody dies in WoWs without making mistakes. People die in WoWs because they make mistakes. E. g. they see an enemy ship and fire shots instantly without thinking. I see this every match I play. I guess they only see their damage counter. That makes them over-aggressive. Like a soccer team without defenders and only attackers.
