  1. Thanks for all the entertainment, and sometimes educational posts. Always was the best place for knowledge of game events and game mechanics, sadly a resource that will no longer be available for new and old players alike.

Joined the game in 2015, but didn't post on here until long after that date. It's a shame this game which held so much promise in the beginning has turned into essentially a mobile microtransaction game (with some of the transactions not so micro if you so choose!).

Finally, to WG, your decision making since the CV rework has been utterly abysmal and your steering your game down a horrible path in my opinion. The people making those decisions need a serious rethink or moved out so that this game can flourish again.

Unfortunately the response to this type of feedback from the community seems to be as per below:

See you all in game...if I can bring myself to play again once I get my PC back.

Otherwise "you'll take the high road...and I'll take the low road..." :Smile_honoring:

Edit: seems after all this time I still can't work out how to insert a gif properly :Smile_amazed::Smile-_tongue:

Fvck you all! instead of complaining to WG about being extremly cheap and saving a few bucks among the MILLIONS who they must be swimming in, you all are just saying farewells?? Just flood the entire site with NSFW stuff! the worse thing that can happen is to be banned a few hour earlier than EVERYBODY will be banned after all!

I get the sentiment, but as has been shown many times WG values our feedback so will go ahead with this decision whether we complain or not.

Besides, I don't see the need to $h!t the bed before we leave just out of spite...just my two cents on it.

PSA received from an out-of-communication source and relayed to the forum:

"Forumites remember to place other forumites onto you Port player contacts list, so, at least, those who still play will have more Div mates."

I would but my PC is currently in storage due to a little bundle of joy needing the room instead (worth it).

    Remember me...:Smile-_tongue:

Every story has an ending; though I think this forum's story ended a bit early.

Good luck fellow forumites, I had a good time at this forum.

Thank you for organising the holiday lottery all those years...something that won't be easily replicated on Discord and an example of the type of things that will be missed by the community.

  5. Long time occasional poster/frequent forum reader/lurker to keep up with news and discussion. Can't believe it's all gone just like that!

Beyond words how poor of a decision this is WG for the community...I mean good luck doing the Xmas raffle on Discord.

I don't have a Discord or Reddit account, not about to begin either.

It's been entertaining/educational reading all your posts these past few years on here regarding the game, slainte! :Smile_bajan2::Smile_honoring:

AFK for a period of time at start of the battle seems to catch people out, including me. Had to answer a phone call just before battle started, AFK for around 3 mins, then played the remaining of the game and won, got the same punishment, but did not found this out after the battle finished.

Thanks WG, so if I have to be away during the game for more than 2 mins, you taught me it's better just AFK all game, as the punishment is the same.

Have loaded in late to a scenario (minutes late :fish_palm:) played rest of scenario and then been given inactivity penalty, was assured by aupport system was working as intended...now we know.

I'm not sure if it is an error. There's simply an event that decides the outcome of the battle, such as the point counter. Once that happens, the battle is not immediately over. I suppose they could make it so that the game freezes the exact same moment of time, but why they haven't done that I don't know. I'm guessing it has to do with response time and latency, and the need for the server to update the situation.

You are correct that in WoT after a team has capped out there is a period of time when tanks can still be damaged/destroyed.

In OP case the "logical" solution is that the opponent had more points as has already been stated.

Did you understand that this is a gift?

They doesn't have to give you anything.

    Maybe remind your behavior.

I think you've misunderstood the fundamental dynamic of the relationship here between WG and the consumer of a free to play game.

What is the purpose of providing said gifts to a player of 7 years?

Could it be to retain that player and perhaps encourage further spending? Do those gifts entice you to do so? If so, great, have a cookie, OP feels differently about it and so do I :cap_like:

Oh, and as I've said in another post, it's not like other WG products offer better incentives in anniversaries like this to veteran players, precisely with the aim to keep you playing and spending.

  9. Talk about being conditioned to accept chicken feed...some people.

But yeah, better not make any comment on the "free stuff" even if it is guff...still free stuff so lap it up and be grateful you even got that...right? :cap_like:

All about player retention and brand loyalty is WG...right?

(Btw, don't look at WoT, they certainly don't try and give decent incentives on anniversaries like this to keep their long term players engaged...oh wait! :Smile_child:)

Yes... and that's why many of us here won't agree with you because we are primarily gamers not gamblers. We have an expectation that games are designed around a gameplay oriented approach. Understandably, you have to accept that a game is also designed to make money. Games that fail to make money are either too crappy, or there aren't enough players around to sustain them over the long run.

Nonetheless, thank you for confirming that there is no gameplay justification for the introduction of the subs. They were detrimental for gameplay years ago, and they remain detrimental to gameplay today. The only reason why we are having them now is because, in your own words, 'Money told WG to Implement Submarines'.

This is the thing I really don't get with modern gaming companies approach, including WG.

Gameplay is sacrificed in the name of short term profit, why make a good product when "Good enough" will do. As long as you add more "shinies" for the magpies to collect the companies win, and the players have their "fix"

But...it doesn't have to be so short sighted, you can make a good product and make a sustainable profit. In fact instead of short term churn, like mobile games; if you invested in good gameplay, nurtured, retained and grew your player base, you'd make profit and have a well deserved reputation within the gaming world. Thus, you'd attract more players to your brand, be it this game or another WG product.

Like so much in life now, nowhere cares about customers, brand reputation or loyalty, "I want it now" culture is here to stay, people accept poorer levels of service as standard, and we'll all suffer for it in the long run. Maybe one day the bubble will burst on this approach when folk are fed up enough of eating what their being fed now...probably not.

  11. I find if someone is trying to insult me in chat, using Scots words as a response generally does the trick without getting any chatban...perhaps the mods are still deciphering?

So...here's a free one for you all, bunch of tumshies :cap_haloween::cap_like:

Yes, I know this one. However, this is a different distinction. There still has to be at least a finable offense or grounds for a criminal investigation. It will only get into prosecution if the victim lodges the complaint. Typically these are less serious cases of assault and battery or domestic violence. Not insults, in other words.

I know what you've been saying, in many places that is the way.

In the UK I guess it's quite wide ranging if you can prove what was said fall into the below:

The Law Commission's review of harmful online communications

Section 127(1) of the Communications Act 2003 which criminalises the sending, via a 'public electronic communications network', of a message which is 'grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character,'.

Yes but hate speech and insults are very far apart in legal terms.

That's true, but the legal definitions are pretty clear cut as to what construed both in a respective country. Some of what I saw written could quite easily be reported to the police to investigate.
