Excellent looking model Ocsimano! I miss the old transport museum in Glasgow...the ship display was amazing (as a child and an adult). The new display just isn't the same in the new building. https://www.google.com/search?q=glasgow+transport+museum+ship+models&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjEgPK8_cXuAhVQSsAKHdBVB3MQ_AUoAXoECAMQAQ&biw=412&bih=688&dpr=2.63#imgrc=49U1DSlHG2Dl_M&imgdii=--AKvgpJFCzuOM https://www.google.com/search?q=glasgow+transport+museum+ship+models&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjEgPK8_cXuAhVQSsAKHdBVB3MQ_AUoAXoECAMQAQ&biw=412&bih=688&dpr=2.63#imgrc=--AKvgpJFCzuOM&imgdii=49U1DSlHG2Dl_M Think many of you in this thread would've enjoyed this place too. Edit: I'm a bit crap and couldn't get the images to attach

@MrConway Thanks for the response. I'm not sure if you would have access to the data, but it seems to me a lot of people play their lower tier premiums in Ops even now to grind FXP or even credits, especially so if strictly PvE. I did wonder if there was an economic case to be made for more focus on Ops (as I say perhaps you have this data). There are suggestions on this thread from @Verblonde and @hgbn_dk that could leverage existing Ops without investing into creation of new ones (which I hope will happen in the future...some day). As others have pointed out they are somewhat of a refuge from randoms and CVs for some of us (and potentially in future subs also). Perhaps a way to retain a section of the player base not overly enamoured with CV rework or other recent/proposed changes?
-
Well look at that, people buying ships on the merit of purely for use in Ops. Now imagine they also did this for low tier ships (T5 and lower), so we could actually use our T3, T4 and T5 premiums in Ops too (and of course silver ships). Granted WG don't make as much profit as an ARP Yamato...but it's still income. We discussed historic scenario Ops in other threads before, @MrConway is there any plans to show Ops some love in the near future?

Just highlighted this in another thread...there doesn't appear to be one. Right back to doing the same thing we did after the CV reeeework.

All the skills of your captains have been replaced
TheAlba2014 replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Reset all skills button...great addition, now where is the free demount all upgrades button to go with it, since this is also free at the moment? Oh well... -
Final tally of captains and ships before upcoming Captain skill rework "upgrade"...
TheAlba2014 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm...Matron! Saucy stuff... Back on topic, I'll be hitting that button too, just hope this update isn't as painful as the CV reeereereework. I took a long break after that one, I hope I don't feel the same way this time. -
My favourite so far...Happy New Year everyone

The time delay is to incentivise you to buy the Strasbourg, rather than waiting to complete the Strasbourg campaign for free. Buying her gives you more time to complete ships and fates if you're interested in the rewards in that campaign. Just another marketing tactic like Santa's convoy in the past with the Graf Spee.

40 Mega and 40 Big (2 x 20 of each = £171.94) Plenty of signals, camos, coal and doubloons. Ships: Orkan (£28.99) Vanguard (£37.43) Saipan (£31.80 - I don't play CV really) Ochakov (£31.80) Yudachi (£14.35 - estimate cheapest shop T7 DD price) Makarov (£13.65 - estimate as Molotov price) Marblehead Lima (£6.41) With some of the doubloons and coupon bought Bayard (£31.80) = £182.58 in terms of value in ship prices according to shop listings. Honestly not sure how I feel about that haul of loot in terms of value Ships I do not have that are on the ship drop list are still quite a few: T7: Florida T8: Z35 Pyotr Bagration Kaga Cheshire Indomitable Alabama Kii Roma Graf Zepplin Siliwangi T9: Friesland Azuma Pommern Agir Jean Bart Benham Neustrashimy "Rare" Fujin Kamikaze (have Kamikaze R) Imperator Nikolai Gremyaschy Flint Enterprise So...still plenty of ships that could have dropped.

I'd like to join the lottery. Thanks for organising again Lup3s Good luck to all and have a Merry Xmas and (much better) Happy New Year when they come!

Do you have "Forgotten" / "Neglected" lines of ships and how do you handle them?
TheAlba2014 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I've played all lines, most are at tier 7/8, apart from CVs (T4 - T6), and European DD (at T5 soon to be T6). The result is I only have two silver T10 (Worcester and Shimakaze). I know it's not the most efficient way of doing things but it keeps the game interesting for me, maybe I'll get all the lines (bar CV, gameplay isn't as interesting for me personally) to T10 eventually, maybe not. -
Moskva debacle also springs to mind

Pretty sure we were all thinking it...well played Sir

CCs and their unprofessional bias towards CVs and players
TheAlba2014 replied to Erik_Aukan's topic in General Discussion
No, mine was to do with the OP presenting "facts" which were disconnected from reality...ironic right? With regards CCs, no comment on their opinions or how they choose to present themselves (Jingles freely admits he's clueless and Flamu plays to the gallery). What I can say is that there is clear dissatisfaction with CV play in general, from both sides it would seem. -
What an awful attitude...they are continuing with the same sales practice they are refunding people for. Clearly the products (crates) were sold under false advertising and not fit for purpose. That the refunds are by request (and only if folk realise they can get one for that matter i.e. have not seen an announcement about this) and not been processed as a complete rollout across the board with a withdrawing of the product and a proper description put in place is despicable. Think WG has contacted everyone by the email they registered with to make them aware and that a refund is available...nope Exactly, shamelsss and certainly not anything to be happy about.

Carrier feature request: Remove the ability to detonate surfaceships
TheAlba2014 replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
You're all wrong...surely the WG answer is...you've just "won" 10 detonation flags so you won't detonate from a CV strike...until you run out again -
@Pandafaust@AndyHill Effectively if they had just taken the time to put the "shortlist" ships explicitly like they did in your screenshot none of this would be an issue, and we the consumer would be aware of what we are purchasing...simple fix...right?! Thats it's taken all of us since Xmas 2018 to realise...and then make enough noise to get a statement, not great. Edit: Should also say that they can't/won't change the description now as that would presumably be seen to admit liability
-
Essentially "Working as intended"...no-one is surprised. "Excessive to detailed description" Has anyone got a screenshot of the pre 2018 Santa crate description to check what was actually said back then about specific ships with a greater chance to drop i.e. a shortlist? Effectively WG claim there has always been a shortlist, "you all know that" (except clearly many people don't or didn't, or customers since 2018 for that matter) with such a detailed description. This hasn't finished and I'm surprised they admitted that much...

Makarov: the most important question.
TheAlba2014 replied to Verblonde's topic in General Discussion
You'll be looking for an ermine robe camouflage then... -
It's becoming the like the John Malkovich movie (just substitute everyone saying Malkovich with Makarov)...Makarov overload
-
Absolutely...expectation (if any), and free stuff is free stuff, is to roll camos or the like...but if you ended up lucky enough rolling a ship from the free Santa Big Gift, I guess the aim would be don't be disappointed if you got a Makarov, given what seems to be the situation Honestly expecting WG to double down and tell everyone "working as intended" (waves magic hands around advertising phrasing), nothing to see here...and then apologise for your misunderstanding
-
You're right, will be interesting to see soon enough when people open their container on the 24th...unless it really is pseudo-random (= fixed) by then

Poll: What will you do after the SantaGate?
TheAlba2014 replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
I'm similar, not really played randoms since CV rework. Play now and then in OPs or Co-op, but the game I enjoyed in years past has changed for the worse. Voted spending won't change but won't buy crates, and I'll play as before i.e. see above. -
WeeGreedy, I believe you have a problem
TheAlba2014 replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in General Discussion
Any MM mission requirements are a bit suspect if the mission is time gated...like back in RTS CV days and requiring to shoot down "X" number of planes but never encountering a CV in randoms...ah, those were the days
