Wow, now I'm getting negative feedback because I don't have Teamspeak! Please read the input Ghostbuster has had to our discussion before letting me know what is wrong with my comment regarding his post. Guys I really don't know why you have such a problem with someone presenting a different point of view. When stating info I use WG stats, ships specs and comments from other Tier X players. You have your point of view I have mine. Lets agree to disagree. I also request that you stop contacting me in mail, or in game as well; we have said our bit, lets leave it at that.
-
And thank you for your usual standard of post too!
-
Sorry was amending my post as you were posting. Don't think I am saying there isn't a problem (as I have said in another post, too many are stating their views). I just think that the problem is the unbalanced numbers of ships, specific torp/gunboat allocation, lack of other ships, and other game mechanics rather than a simple fact of it being the Shims fault. I haven't used teamspeak so it would probably take me all night to figure it out. Thank you for your offer though; I do appreciate it. Thank you.

I am sorry I can't as I now fear for my very life. Seriously? We may not agree but is there really a need to go along the route you are taking? Just in case you aren't being menacing and all, what would you say that is different from what you have written? If you are being scary then again, I shall just wish you well; good night.

That is not answering my question; that is putting your pov across. My initial question was 'what in my statement was incorrect?'. Of course I am more than happy to address your pov: 190: I agree that sometimes Team play can be lacking. I also agree that there is luck involved in the game. The rest I just hear the fact that if it hits a torp can do damage; strangely enough I don't disagree with this either. 192: If I can't even see the Yamato how am I supposed to zoom in on him to see the gunsmoke? Even if I could wouldn't it be silly to keep zoomed in on a BB hoping to see when he fires; if I'm spotted I try to get away before more than the one BB you talk about opens fire. 193: Cool, we agree. 194: From what other Tier X players indicate it started with the nerf to CVs. This was followed by BBs being able to kill CAs with little problem (causing them to disappear almost). This was followed by a choice of BB or DD. I believe most chose DD as they can stay hidden from BBs. Makes sense to me, even though I haven't played tier X. Was it you that stated stats don't mean anything (can't remember but guessing not as you are using them ) However, I am sure there are good and bad players at Tier X, as there are in most Tiers. Just seen POST 215: Yes, again I have not argued this point. Thank you for taking the time to put your points across, as you can see many of them can still be countered but that is what a forum is about (not that painful I dare say either). Such a shame that in discussing my points (and not actually proving your point to be correct may I add), has caused you to reduce to insults, but hey, that says more about you than it does me. Please remember this is only my point of view, if you don't want to discuss don't do. Good night, I wish you well. <He sees himself out>

Wow, that was in fact the first statement I made in the post that started you all off. Instead of naming the thread World of DDs why not just say what it's about... the Shima. Fezcat post 201: 1. So do I, and as stated once I do I come under fire. Glad to hear you use them to. 2. Who says a DD should be lower? Surely they should be able to score well or is that not fair either? 3. Cool, we agree. I really don't look at a persons stats, too many people on these forums use them in a negative way to try and put people in a bad light (I am sure your are very good). 4. There was already posts that agreed with me (from tier X) and I dare say others that will agree with you; guess that's what the forum is here for, to discuss things. BTW, I haven't used a statement that someone from a higher tier level hasn't already said. This is what Ghostbuster had an issue with (especially when Tier X players agreed with not having an issue with torps (including him at one point! lol)). 5. I agree, they would be (although you would be surprised at how many tier X DD players have quoted on these forums about BB players sailing in a straight line). Of course DDs are more manoeuvrable, they can also be killed with one shot too. Also why shouldn't every ship in the game have a chance to kill another one? POST 202: Trying to keep up! Actually the thread was about 'World of DDs', it seemed to move onto the Shima (again as I stated in my post you all took a dislike to). POST 208: And with the foul language! POST 209: Phew, definitely need to play after this lol. So why is it ok to get killed by a BB quickly but not by some torpedoes that hit you. I said get the jump on you in that post because many were saying that Shima captains don't need skill. So if they don't need skill then I put down 'getting the jump on them' to indicate doing the dirty (or taking advantage of). Again, on many levels a BB can open up on a DD when it is spotted and a DD can do nothing back (because of range). Why when it is the DD who has the advantage in this scenario is it an outrage? POST 202: You posted my stats in order to indicate why I shouldn't make a statement about info that I have read on the forum. Trying to stop someone posting by stating they have no right to then posting their stats to try and prove the points is negative (or using the stats against them). If this was not intended then I apologise (and will forget that you saw the need to post them). Well, if there are any other comments regarding my posts I will do my best to answer them.

Hello Ghost, like you they tried to have a go at my stats rather than answer the question. I don't think they have gone as far as getting banned with their replies though

Hi back from some playing to answer someone who bothered to raise points about my post (by the way all my comments that you seem to have had issue with were made in the one post; so I guess I can stay (thank you)). Going down the page: Post 190: Ok so you may not have CV aircraft, I'll buy that. So what about your own DDs, Spotter aircraft and Fighter aircraft, or are there none of those either? Post 192: Ok so because people can't play as a team we need to have a go at a ship (that really is a torpedo boat) for firing to many torpedoes. Should we have a go at the Yamato for firing too many rounds? If people don't play as a team in a team game why look to blame another area for the problems (DD)? At best the Shim can only fire 2 volley's of torps in the first 5 mins (a minute to spot ships to know where to shoot, then fire, then a 2.5 minute reload). Post 193: Totally agree with the unbalanced distribution and ship type (gunboats/torpboats). Already stated in my other posts. Post 194: By your own argument then the Yamoto doesn't need skill to play; surely it can sit there spamming rounds at a much faster rate in the hope of hitting a ship to (maybe get a detonation and kill with one shot!). I would assume that as the Shima is not a Premium ship that most who sail her are not worse than me but probably better as they have grinded through all levels to get there. (Not indicating you are saying Shim captains are not skillful). Post 195: Ok, so the person I was replying to was deciding to use the DD captain with all skills and the poor BB or CA captain with no skills scenario. I was merely pointing out that it would be fairer to approach the scenario using both captains with no skills or all skills. To be fair. Thank you for your thoughts.

What, even when I cut and pasted it a second time into a post. Wow, if you dodged torpedoes as good as you do giving a straight answer you'd have no problems at Tier X Not that I'm not enjoying hearing the many reasons why I shouldn't post rather than addressing my actual statement, but I'm off to play WoWs.
-
Shotgun: I believe I said 'I could tell you to man up but I'd rather hear your pov'. However, I can understand why you would choose to quote the negative part only. And it is your choice of course, if you want to sail into the 45 torpedoes that are shown a fair way away then do so (although then to complain about it seems a little silly). Still heard no indication from 3 different individuals on why what I said was wrong, but I guess there is a reason why. For fear of being negatively misquoted again or being labelled a troll (sad level to lower yourself to), I shall flee this thread and leave it to those that can't answer my question anyway. Billy: Again I'd ask where my thought regarding people choosing to play defensive rather than as a team using the DDs, Spotter aircraft, Fighter aircraft and CV aircraft to go forward is wrong. It doesn't seem to be that much of a bold statement yet seems to have had an incredible affect with at least 3 of you who have taken an incredible amount of time to scrutinise me, but very little to answer the question. Funny thing is I would love to know your view on the comments I made; you just wont give it.
-
Firstly: my apologies then, bud; I believed you were continuing with the personal attack on me as opposed to the view I put across. Secondly: I take it having been given several opportunities you still can't refute my pov with a counterbalanced reply (except to change topic). There are many who have commented on threads who have plenty of tier X experience; that is the problem with trying to pick fault with the person rather than answering my post. I am genuinely interested in your point of view on what I actually said. I have no interest however on what you think of me as a person; as, no disrespect, it won't give me any sleepless nights my friend.

@ Fezcat: Please tell me where I said DDs are OP in my post? Also please tell me where my statement was wrong (anywhere please); here it is again, please feel free to pick it apart: In the end the World of DDs topic became the usual Tier X shim whinge fest! Apart from those strange match ups where you have more DDs on one side than the other it comes down to the player's playing choice. People whine about torps but if aircraft, spotter planes, fighters and DDs are probing then these should be spotted. I can only assume that the only 'playing as a team' decision that is made is the one at the beginning to clump together stay at a distance and then complain when the Shima launches the torps at you. Absolutely love it when people say the Shim needs no skill to play, then indicate these unskilled players can have them running for the boarders in fear of being hit by torps fired from 20km away. Why don't they ever use their self professed skills to communicate and use all the assets mentioned above? @ShotgunMary: Sorry, but have I even argued against the 45 + torp walls? No I have stated that the real issue is the fact that people choose to play at a distance. The picture provided by Fezcat is a great example: Every torpedo visible for all to see (and a nice 2.5 minutes before torp reload to move forward). Again please tell me where I have it wrong. Seriously I could tell you to man up and sail around the incoming wall but I'd rather hear your pov on the subject.
-
I'm putting another point of view across that so far 3 people can't seem to point out where I am wrong. Again please tell me where I am wrong? I suppose I could point out that every player at tier V is not a new player to the game but I guess that wouldn't buy into your tier X elitism lol.
-
Sorry missed your post. A lot of talk that has nothing to do with what I posted. Please tell me where I have it wrong too lol.
-
Tell me where I got it wrong then.

So how many games had he played? If only a few I believe most would just class him as a bad player but still learning, give him a bit of advice (or advice ) but not look to overly embarrass him. How did he act in the game, did he openly attack the team or just make bad choices? The experience I had was a mistake at first, or so I thought. Then he did a 180 to follow me back and try to torp me again. I was halfway through asking him to be careful when he launched again. Thankfully a team mate also witnessed it and opened fire on him. I joined in. That is the point, I think more people on the forum would err on the side of caution before highlighting someone as a TK. Those who are labelled as TK are done so because they usually make no effort to hide the fact.

That is where I think you are wrong. 1. Many CAs complain about BBs blowing them out of the water, so if you have more BBs and more DDs I can hear more complaints! 2. Many BBs complain that CAs don't screen enough (there is another thread ongoing at the moment). How can 2 CAs screen for 6 BBs? More complaints! 3. What about a scenario where there is 2 CAs for every DD; doesn't sound very fair (especially for the non IJN line)? Even more complaints! 4. What about what CVs want? If a fair structure needs to be decided on regarding limits, it has to be acceptable to the majority. Good luck on that one!

The radar is coming ("Some interesting info from RU" & Reddit confirms this)...

I definately fire from smoke (torps and guns) if I get support and don't believe the CA will come closer. Why wouldn't I? It seems as though many CA captains complain as if it's an unfair advantage. As unfair as your ship having better guns when the smoke clears or runs out! Or like me crying that my torps are useless because spotter planes keep highlighting them. I move elsewhere. Choose a class, play with it and be happy; stop worrying about what others have or can do (or just change your ship class!). -
@Ghashpl: Maybe something like 2 CVs, 4 BBs, 3 CAs (to provide cover for the BBs) and 3 DDs. That way the 3 CAs can continue to do their job and hunt DDs once they have provided AA cover to the BBs.
-
Maybe if you describe the 'not fun' part and why it was that way instead of putting 'enough is enough - it's just ridiculous' people would have more of an idea of what you are talking about! I am capable of some things, mind reading isn't one of them. Unless it is just a repeat of your usual posts; which can be repetitive. If that is the case then I thank you for not taking up my time. You have a terrible rage problem if people don't think your way.
-
Strictly speaking how can you shame someone who deliberately tries to ruin the players games as well as the game in general? It isn't a mistake, it's deliberate. Never understood why it's tolerated by WG or why people on the forum get sanctioned for pointing out someone who does nothing but bring negativity to the game. It's one of the few things on this site that brings people together with a common purpose regarding banning these people.
-
Enough is enough; what the extra 2 DDs they had? You won with most of your team scoring more than all but 2 of their team (despite the millions of torpedoes that must have been in the game because Shima's were in it). What is the enough is enough part?

How to win vs 4 Shimakazes in 8 minutes, HaHa! ;)
Zathras_Grimm replied to Trigger_Happy_Dad's topic in General Discussion
Apologies the: "How to win vs 4 Shimakazes in 8 minutes, HaHa! ;) " and the "but if the enemy team plays such a "[edited] the objective, I want to kill ships on map edge!" tactic then it's their fault the game ended like this, not mine. ;)". Had me thinking you were talking about Shima's or the people who captain them in a negative way; my mistake. -

Wow, the Shima hate thing goes a long way; guess no other ships were on the enemy side? Amazed that so many can have such hate towards one particular thing. To note I did the same thing in my Tier V Minekaze and there were no Shimas in that game; go figure. I hear that it was the Shima class that also convinced WG to sell premium bundles.
