Playing DDs in the current Meta
Humorpalanta replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Hey, I would add some things to the line: What kind of DDs the enemy have and what do you? Because I choose differently if I am in a Gearing and the enemy is an Asashio or a Daring. What did you bring in the battle? Smoke or TRB. Also about the meta: In the old times ships had to rely on each other. So when a cruiser had for example hydro then it did not have smoke or radar or anything else. He had to get radar from someone else. But right now we are at the situation that every cruiser has hydro and almost every has radar. Many of them both. "Oh there is a DD in that smoke. Lets pop hydro and spot him. Oh he left? Let's pop radar and spot him for another 60 seconds!" Many people say that they hate that radar and hydro goes thru land. I don't mind because it creates opportunities on both sides. I think it is a good thing. The problem is the amount of radars in the game and how long they last. Like 60-70% of cruisers have radar and many other ships. This combined with the fact that almost 70-80% of the ships have hydro makes DDs very hard to play. Reduce the number of the ships that have access to radar. And on top of that make it a choice. If a ship has radar it shouldn't have hydro and vice versa. Just by reducing the number of radars and hydro in the game by something like 30-40% it would make DDs actually playable and capping possible. Right now in this meta it is not possible to use DDs to cap. In the last 2-3 weeks I have played like 60-70% of the capping was done by any other class because the DD was running for its life. Playing a DD in this meta is like running thru a mine field. It is not impossible to survive but very unlikely. -
The main issue is: WG never listened. If they had listened to the feedback they were given this wouldn't have been an issue.

Aren't realistic enough????? :D

See that is why you don't understand. Western Europe, the beautiful promised land where people can actually trust the institutions, governments and companies. I welcome you in Eastern Europe young padawan. Here in the post-soviet world we live a bit differently. When our Prime Minister says he wants to help families he means he wants to help his family. Here when a company such as WeeGee says they would like that CCs do not state anything about the balans of the ships before release it means they don't wanna hear people complaining about powercreeping the game and stopping them to smash as much many out of the customers as it is possible. Do you know what is censorship? I tell you. Not just the way you understand it. Because censorship is everything when you are not allowed to say something that everybody knows or able to find out from the rest of your speech. For example: if you work at the hungarian national TV and you are not allowed to talk about how the Prime Minister got rich since his election. That is censorship. Or if you are allowed to show around a ship and even though you are raping the whole game in it but you cannot say it seems inbalanced. It is also censorship. Do you know what is NOT censorship? If WG tells you they want to make a new ship like this like this like this but do not talk about it to anyone. That is not censorship that is a company secret. But from the second the company releases these infos you are allowed to talk about it. Because both sides (WG, you, viewers) have the same info. However if all of you have the same info but you cannot talk about it then it is censorship.

Albemarle - worst ship in the game? advice needed.
Humorpalanta replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
The Albemarle I talked about in that comment is an example, a fictional ship. Not the actual one in the game. Could have been anything else. Only thing I say is that these tablets we have from these sites worth nothing when we talk about of a ship if it is OP or UP and how it fits in the game. They worth nothing because they are biased. Very important informations are missing for us to read the data it shows. Still it gives some indication if one ships is overplayed or very popular or hard to kill, etc. But to make hard statements based on it, no no no. Still better if we talk about our experience in battles because in this case people are unwillingly take part in an unofficial poll where they share what they think. And even though it is not optimal either it simply better shows how people feel about a ship and we can track who answered what and can check their stats so we can add some conclusions. -
Albemarle - worst ship in the game? advice needed.
Humorpalanta replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
Okay, so: What does it show? It shows how people perform in this ship. ALL THE PEOPLE, IN AVERAGE. Basically everything players do with this ship the system throws into a melting pot and shows you the average of it. There is no data for us regarding that how much good players play the ship and how much bad players play the ship. Nothing. We do not know. The only thing we know is that how well an "average" player would perform in it. Let's call this average player "A". It means that A equals c/d which are the performance and the number of games for Albemarle. So if we look at another ship, for example Chapayev. In that case we would have an average performance again. It would show us how the "average" player plays in Chapayev. Does average player "A" equal "B"? No, not at all. Why? Because the number of played games (f) and performance (e) is totally different from c and d. Therefore in this case we are trying to liken c/d to e/f. Every data is different. But Humor, it is exactly what statistics do. Well yes, but actually no. In this case we would try to take a deeper look with some weights. We would introduce m as good players and g as bad players. So we would add it to what we have. Number of games played by good players and performance achieved by good players. Same for bad players. Also based on a rule we would add multipliers so we can see the difference between good players and bad players. This would be a weight to help us identity the differences between them. So what does it mean? It means that in order to be able to liken Albemarle to Chapayev we would like to know the distribution between good players and bad players. Something like this: 7*110+8*28,75=1000 and 3*120+20*32=1000 (It is oversimplified to show what I am trying to say. I know it should be divided and I could also show it in an equation that way but I am tired and just want to play so I simplified it. If you want to understand you will.) So you can see how they are the same meanwhile one of them is doing better. (There are several layers in this calculation and it would take hours to perfectly summarize it, so I am simplifying, sorry.) It is also the case for this spreadsheet. If good players play a good ship (f.e Des Moines) less than a bad ship (f.e Zao) that they play more it means that they are making Zao look better than it actually is. It is because good players play more Zao and by this lifting up the average of Zao simply by scoring higher averages. Then this would mean that good players play Des Moines less compared to Zao. And even though DM is a better ship and good players would achieve more in it if they choose to play Zao more it means bad players play more the DM than Zao. So this average of Zao would show higher and DM would show less. All of these averages and comparing ships to each other means that we basically would also need the information of much good and players play a ship compared to each other. And that is we do not know. We just know the sum of their games but we do not know the distribution of it. -

And again, this is why this Sheet is absolutely useless if you want to talk about how a ship fits in the game balance wise. -
They will come back as soon as WeeGee realises they (edited) up and put RTS CVs back in the game. Otherwise they will do not. They said they want to make them supporting carriers. Come on, who would want to play that? Very very very very small amount of people. So they would either have to make them extremely OP to drag others to play it or they should drop this plan entirely. As you have come to learn my friend, WeeGee often changes its mind and drops their ideas, right? But even if they do they would have to make them similalry OP as the rest of the fleet. Imagine a Viribus Unitis meeting a T7 carrier. No speed, no AA, no manouverability. Rape, simple as that. Carriers in this state do not fit the game and they will never will. They either bring back RTS CVs and balance them (which would be possible and many of the players know it) or they stivk to this gamestyle of CVs which will never ever be balanced. It cannot be. It comes from the base structure of the playstyle. So give up your hopes. The germans may come but I would not expect to see new carriers before 2022. It will easily take a year to balance out the germans and pour some water on the oil fire that the game is right now and cannot even picture it what will happen with subs... Guys, guys, STAHP. Do you really want me to say the W-word? :D Somehow related topic: I want a Red Alert camo on my Kirov dammit! -
Guys, he has 109 battles. I would think that T4 is the top. So he is new and would like to learn. Sure he did not choose his words wisely but let's be welcoming. (I know, said by me... I am trying to change for the better, okay?)

Not at all. Or is he on Lemil blog? I sometimes read them but not following all the time. I like reading about history, 19th and 20th are the ones I am interested in but it is a minimal hobby. As I am political scientist and economist I am more on that side when I read stuff.

I really like your Location data :D Also if I look back I think this class was more of a Lovechild project for the monarch than an actual strategic decision. As this inner lake was way too small for an actual navy we had to learn it the hard way. (It is always easier to be smart after the events, I know...) Most probably a bigger amount of smaller ships would have helped the monarch a lot more than these monsters. (Not just from a military point of view but financially also. Considering that we got almost broke by building these ships.) All in all they might be excellent and proof of their knowledge but they were out of place. Instead of these ships they could have financed a better army to actually break into Italy on land because let's face it even though we lost Szt. István and the navy was basically useless the war was decided at Isonzó.

Thunderer should been nerfed just as Kremlin.
Humorpalanta replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
I am not a good player. I am just an average who likes to have fun and challenge himself. I do not own Thunderer nor Kremlin. Whenever I play ships and I meet a Thunderer I am not afraid. I know that they can be dealt with. Sure they can put you on fire but they are so easily citadelled, HE-d and burnt down, they are also sluggish so can be torped and eat a ton of damage. Like a couple of days ago I just met one in my Missouri. Burnt me down to 20% but a good volley from me took 90% of his HP and the next guy finished him. Sure, I felt it, but could take care of. Kremlin, on the other hand. I fear it like it was Voldemort. I see one and I get the hell away from there. If I am in a DD he snipes me. If I am in a cruiser oneshots me. (angle doesn't count) When in one game a BB, me in my Zao and 2 DDs got face to face with him and a DD. No island to use, no smoke to receive. If i turn, Kremlin blaps me. So I was trying to show the least from the ship hoping. He hit and oneshot me. Met Kremlin broadside in a BB. 3 full salvos, did not lose 50% of his health. Hell naw. They are not even close my friend. Kremlin is crazy OP. Somehow like CV>Smolensk>Kremlin>Stalingrad.............>Thunderer. -

Humorpalanta replied to Dragontrn's topic in General Discussion
Agree. Fun ends at T2 -
Why the hate for CVs? Because right now CV can attack you almost every 30 seconds. (It is an average. 1 squadron can have 3 attacks within a minute and then just returns with the next squadron even before your consumables reload or his fire burns out.) Therefore he can bully you however he wants and there is nothing you can do. Even if you spec every AA on the ship he is gonna have at least 1 attack. (A unicum can get more even if you are full AA specced!) He has basically endless number of planes which can travel to endless distances and can attack endless times meanwhile you are running out of consumables which could help you defend. Also that he has very fast planes he can change flanks and can attack any part of the map anytime during the game. Are you trying to run away? Hide? Not possible. These CVs can also easily delete destroyers and move on to the next pray. You could say this has always been true but here is the truth: IN the RTS era if a CV attacked a DD he was losing damage capabilities and planes and time. Because the DD knew if the CV was busy with him he could actually help his team to win because the CV wasted a lot of effort on killing the DD. Nowadays this time is not wasted as the CV can drop the DD on his way as he has several chances to drop. The CV cannot lose anything only win. Also if you try to attack a CV in any ship the CV has the high ground. You have to get to him meanwhile you cannot shoot him but he can attack you continously. And the closer you are to the CV and more frequently he can attack you. In a CV you can play bad but you start from the better position ALWAYS. It is like he would play futball against a one legged man. No matter how good that dude is he will have to work waaaaaay harder to have a chance meanwhile CV can just kick him in the leg and walk in with the ball.

I DEMAND A REFUND FOR MY MOSKVA CAMO
Humorpalanta replied to The_Shungite_Wizard's topic in General Discussion
On a regular market I would agree with you but this is not the case. These gaming companies work with the essence of "Intellectual Property" and the rules and laws around them. On this market there is no second hand stuff. You do not own anything. You cannot sell the items on a second hand market because there isn't any. Gaming companies claim and especially WeeGee that you don't own it you just buy the right to have access to these. ANd because of this the claim that they can do whatever they want to with them. So what you are stating that companies have the right to sell their product for free? Well yes, but actually no. Shouldn't you have the right to also sell the stuf you bought? Shouldn't these items stay the same as you bought them? Yes, both times. Therefore the usual rules are not applicable here. This is not a common market. They have to act carefully otherwise they would have to face consecvences. The second point is coming from the first one. You may try to think yourself objective but you don't know the market itself. I am not saying you are wrong or you are behaving dull or anything like that. I am just trying to point out the flaws of the system and the market. Because there are a lot of them. The market may not work fast but oh boy it does work. If you do not respect your customers they will leave you. Many of us have tried to warn them about this. They want to learn the hard way. It is fine. It is also fine that their main focus is milking the young who are not aware exactly how much they are spending and how much that worth to their family. Unethical but not illegal. Once again, South Park: Freemium isn't free. (Just for context. Political Science, State and Government Studies, Economist) -

I DEMAND A REFUND FOR MY MOSKVA CAMO
Humorpalanta replied to The_Shungite_Wizard's topic in General Discussion
OKay. Let's talk about this topic. What is OP's problem? The problem is that he PAID for something which was advertised to stay behind a paywall. So at the time his options were: Cough up the money or lose a lot financially ingame. There was no third option as Wait a year and you will receive it for free. The problem sits with Wargaming. They claim it is their game and their intellectual property and claim that they can do whatever they want to. In many countries ( cough US cough ) this would stand in front of law. However in the EU this is different. Here the laws more on the side of the customers. There are more regulations. BUT because these intellectual property laws are fairly new they are not entirely covering everything which helps WeeGee and other companies to play with you. The same situation as with Blyskawicza. She was also advertised as excellent ship with stealth fire balance. WeeGee claims they never said that but we know the truth. They did not give refund. IF OP had the knowledge and the decision chance with the third option as he can wait some time and will receive it free then I would understand the standpoint of blaming him. But because it was not an option at the time he purchased the item he is right. He paid for something and WeeGee is tickling it, changing it, changing the worth of it, basically taking away his money he invested in. He bought this permacamo because this changed a SILVER ship into a SPECIAL ship because of the item's configuration. Now the SILVER ship itself is being turned into a SPECIAL ship therefore zeroing out the meaning of the Permacamo he bought. Making it worth nothing. It is like if you bought Office 365 for 10 years (it is a subscription) and they suddenly take Excel out of the pack and you were actually using that the most. Therefore your subscription is worth basically none for you. And those who claim that he has received a lot of credits and stuff with the camo are also right. He did. However he bought it as from then to forever and it was less than the time to forever so we can easily says that he only received less then 30% of the value of his investments. (The number is not important just to help understanding.) Therefore the rest of the value should be paid him back or received by some other compensation otherwise we was "cheated on" by the company, in this case: WeeGee. And THAT is illegal. You still have time? Great. Now let's talk about how these went with other sub lines. Whenever a sub line arrived to the game you kept the original camo for the original ship and received the new ship's camo as compensation. Therefore he was not cheated by the company because he received compensation in the very close value which meant no illegal activities were made and no harm was caused. But as we can see WeeGee is trying to make players pay as much as possible therefore trying to give us less and less compensation. And by defending their point of view you are actually helping them in their actions to squeeze as much money out of us as humanly possible. Thus you are helping the monetization and the Luck-crates.- 271 replies
