A lot of things have changed in WG's offers the last 2-3 years and has gotten worse lately. I used to be pro these loot boxes as they usually contained good stuff, you never really got shafted on getting a "less desirable" one, but nowadays, the boxes have become either you get something you want/good, something "less desirable" or usually something utterly useless crap (regular signal flags for an inflated price). Doubloon sales have not existed thus far this year, first year they were every second month at most, followed by the 35:1 on free exp conversion, you would know when they were happening due to the doubloon sales. These sales have gotten so rare that they never happen anymore. Full refund when buying a discounted ship you have. WG changed this about 2-3 years ago (can't remember exactly), which caused me to immediately stop buying premiums that I had when on sale I remember the first 2-3 years of summer sale where I spent hundreds of euros on buying ships I had due to the good discounts, you could only get 1 of each offer so it's not like you could get millions of doubloons on sale. Now? Nah, I've stopped buying premiums unless they're clearly so OP they'll get removed, then I'll invest. I think I have bought 1-2 ships for cold hard cash these last few years (although I have bought loot boxes which have contained currencies to be able to buy ships, ref Benham :-), but rarely ships outright). Christmas events and "gifts". This was usually when I would "whale out" and buy quite a few bundles of Santa boxes, alas they changed the system last year, if you had the ships, you could not get doubloon refunds. I bought 0 boxes last year as I only could get 1 ship I didn't have (this is a warning to new players not to invest much money into this game as I have) and I got that in the "free" T10 boxes. This year I haven't bought any ships, so I have a fair few T7-T9 ships that might pop in a Christmas container.. Might. Not sure I'll invest this year, will have to see how it plays out. Event grinds, To be honest, these have always been bad. The first year they screwed up was with the Graf Spee hunt, what a mess that was, but WG improved to the year after, that event is probably the best one ever! They haven't capitalized on steel much since then, go figure, they could have earnt a ton of money, but didn't. Free Exp ships, I get why they get more expensive, but prices that started at 750k and got to 1m ain't so bad. My problem is with the T10 ones, 2M f.exp is a lot, too much, WAY too much, I could have understood 1.5M, at most. If you have flags and camo you can grind that easily in 2-3 months with regular T8-T10 games, unless you play impatiently like I have a tendency from time to time, then you waste time, flags, camo and effort :-). Be patient, it always pays off :-). Half arsed events have gotten more frequent, ref this latest one, autumn festival without the eastern and southern dragon boats for sale or possibility to win (they're half decent T7's with some cool camos) like the first time the dragon ship was available (you got it for free if you did some mission chain). Like the Dock yard events, the incessant grind with some extremely crappy rewards outside of the much coveted tokens. People thought the Pay-to-Rico was bad, it was, but I have two clan mates (or had :-)) that did that grind to get it for free with time to spare. It has gotten easier, I think the latest one is doable, but o so extremely boring. Too many repeating missions with class and nation restrictions that are way too stringent. I appreciate that you can do them in Coop, it makes it accessible to more players, but when they are so much easier to do in coop, then why bother. Why not include missions that require you to do some scenarios? Interesting and special ships, I know this is asking a lot, but lately the mantra for releasing new premiums and tech tree ships seems to have gone in the direction of either power creep existing ships or being largely ignorable as they are boring or provide nothing new or special or simply OP (ref USSR cruiser and BB line, paired with Pan "European" (read: Swedish) line). They could have made these ships special or different, like the French DD's. Sadly by doing the French line they also crapped massively on the existing Khabarovsk a ship that now largely have been slapped too hard with the nerf bat. Ref last point, balance, I know WG pays attention to statistics on ships, problem is that some ships are catered towards a very small population. High reward with high skill and risk. Fair enough, but why Haragumo and Khabarovsk gets full damage from BB overpenetration makes no sense anymore when ships like Marceau and Kleber do not. Please provide Khabarovsk with some usable torps and not some laughable tar coated limp noodles. Sorry, lot of bile I suppose. I still play the game, but just felt I had to get this of my chest :-). I miss the "old" Wargaming version of World of Warships. I suppose the "under new management" goes for this company as with any old shabby motel :-). -Fes

Well the camouflage is poor stats wise compared to other event ones, the bundles cost 888 doubloons but for 4 times that you get 5x100 flags so the flag bundles you can get for 888 is actually something you lose money on. the 2x8 special flags is less than 25% chance of getting (which would have been a decent deal). Nahh this is a massive no no no no no for me, and as I wrote earlier I am actually appreciating this. Steam have a sale on a few games I like, better spent money there.

I am so pleased with this, no premium ships sale or anything. Even randomized bundles, nothing good in the first for 888!!!!!! doubloons, wow, not going to spend a single dime on this. I really appreciate it, I mean it, it does sound like I am not, but seriously I am. You have saved me from spending more money on this, thanks. Keep these events coming!!

In order to start any collection not automatically given you first need to obtain an item of the collection. This happens through either the campaign (playing low tier ships) which awards these containers. Then there are other missions which awards containers as well.

This event is like all of these, can't recall if we just got the SC's the first year or not.. But since Y2 and onward it was like this if my mind ain't completely full of holes..

Weeeeeell only once per viewer, what does that mean? Once per this patch or once your entire life of twitch linked wows gaming? So in my entire Twitch linked account time (since you started giving out rewards), I've yet to see this fabled "epic" or "rare" container (and I must have gotten way more than 100). I think it's a bit too rare, so rather call it unique or legendary or say there are rumors about a container so rare more people have betrayed Jesus and gotten him crucified than ever gotten one of these :-). Anyway, the standard twitch ones are quite nice, got a load of the anti detonation flags :-).

It worked the last 2 times it's been used. Question is rather, will your pc work this time or will you be given the spinning wheel again.. We're anxious to know..

Holy moly, somebody stole your milk this morning? Sure you don't need dragon flags? Send me any you have, I plow through them faster than F.. I'll say thank you to whatever I get. I don't farm T5-T7 camouflages because I don't need nor want them. But I'll play some T5-7 matches because my clan sometimes dips into those tiers and whatever cammos I get I'll appreciate either as credits or as cammos :-). I'll farm T8-T10 for Dragon flags and Super Containers, that alone will take a lot of time. Not sure I'll do like before and go gung ho on Coop, either way, it's going to be AAAAAWESOME!. Take what you want from the event, it's "free" (still require you to spend time) and don't moan that you want the world for free served on a silver platter. Any doubloon sale or XP conversion "sale" coming soon?

Was hoping for a doubloon sale, exp conversion.. or perhaps some bundles with "special" flags being made available for purchase.. That being said.. I think I have 149 or so gift containers to farm :-(..

Well, at least they offer full doubloon refund if you own atlanta already.. Not seen that for 3 years... But that's a one off for 38 tokens.. To get a T8 you would have to seriously invest... (buy the bundles every day....) remember back in the days where you had 2 bundles every day with new ships at 30 or 50% discount.. and you got full doubloon refund if you owned the ship.. Spent a few hundred euros that summer.. this summer is going to be 0 euro so far. 180 tokens cost you (in NOK 276,33) and if you get the Graf Zeppelin (that costs 428 NOK) that's a discount of about 35%, but if you get the Loyang you don't get a discount, but pay 20 NOK more for the boat than it costs in premium shop so.. discount? I would say MAYBE with a big MAYBE.

Not for free no, as far as I can see it says we can get 15 through missions.

Ran out of flags so I bought 10 containers and lo and behold.. 4th container inn, got Pommern, awesome ship. That being said, out of all the 30 containers I bought (which I could have gotten cheaper if I went for 25 from the start) I got 7 with free exp, which is super nice. And another friend bought 10 containers, didn't get Pommern, but got Mainz. So seems like the bundle to go for is 10, but that might just be coincidence, not enough to base any assumptions on.

Micro transactions are not exclusively loot boxes, it is everything you can buy in addition to the game, kits, weapons, maps, costumes, ammo.. only the imagination sets the limits on what you can sell in a game, all of those things are microtransactions. The most common one is a "special" currency that you can only get that way that is used for the in-game or game shop.

It as nothing to do with EA either per se. It has to do with the government finding this sort of "lottery" illegal and as such bans loot boxes. I think it's stupid, but hey..I am not sure if EA or others can get around the rules if they state the "winning" chances. Based on drop rates it seems if you buy 10 or more at once you get a higher chance.. I should have bought 25 instead of buying 5 and 5.. was a waste :-(

I bought 21, got nothing.. only lacked the Pommern. Stay away. The formula is C R A P.. 2 friends both had none of the ships, one bought 10 other 15 one got 2 ships hipper and Pommern other got pommern and mainz.. The content is ok, don't want nor need the camo, but only got 3 out of 21 with that.. Free exp is nice.. but seriously..You get a less chance to get any boat the more boats you have, fair? Nah.. Stay away if you have a fair amount of boats, if you don't fair game. Seems like the ones that have little get more and if you stay away and come back you get a ton of stuff.. TL:DR: DO NOT BUY THE CONTAINERS!

Hi, suddenly all my keyboard bindings are defaulted. I change back to how I want it. Play for the day, next morning all back to default. Hugely annoying

1. Daft statement, I can reset the line and get research points for it, thus it's moot how I got it as I clearly can be awarded research points. 2. I could have played the Parcival for 300k exp and would have been ready for T10, alas could not due to increase in exp cost from before (you could still see the next tier just not buy it). I agree it's debatable, but your argument is invalid as the line was available to play and grind, you just couldn't buy the next tier. But, let's agree to disagree and stop it here.

Wrongo bongo, you receive the carrier fully researched with all modules, now if that not researched then I don't know. It's a technicality that I haven't spent free exp or played to achieve the exp required. It should have been explicitly stated, WG is too poor at stating how things work. The discounts in store for example, is only valid if you have none of the items in the bundle, because if you do you get 0% discount, that's not stated anywhere, just the fine print saying what you receive if you have this item already (then you have to find out that they give you the original price minus the discount, so no discount). There's not been a doubloon sale for over 8 months, don't think one will ever come. the 25k exp on the Parcival is not really important, it's the principle.

Hmmm so, this Does not adhere to all CV's, german CV's got no such exp boosts. I wasted a couple of hours last night farming the Parcival that I was lucky enough to get on some of the last containers, for no reason whatsoever. FIX!!!

This game is sort of getting to the point where the average Joe gets the full benefits as those that have actually put in a shitload of work to make their clans obtain these discounts. But but, not that I really have a big issue with that, the discounts are mediocre at best. What irks me is that the special offers in the premium shop still lacks the note that if you have the ship from before you are shafted and there is no discount for you. Morale in this game is, don't buy the ships, you get them in Christmas crates anyway, and then the price is more sensible.
