well, T9 is more than A T8. One could even argue cossack is worse than lightning. Benham is something completely new, a US torpedo boat, and fun to play... OP? Not really, squishy as hell, good AA, but nothing extraordinary. I agree on the line being drawn here, I'ld rather they do what they did in WoT, where you could get a half decent T8 premium for free or you could reach milestones that each gave 10% off the price. Or like they do in WoWp, where you can buy tokens that allow you to skip missions, some more expensive than others to skip. Lot's of ways to solve this, but I for one don't really like that everything in the game is obtainable for free, which it in theory has almost been up until now, I like the thought that you get discounts, if you put your back into it you can get 90% discount, but the last 10% you really had to pay for with real money not doubloons.. But hey, was hoping for a summer sale of sorts..... Was hoping they would bring back the old way of doubloon compensation when you bought a ship you had , a way to get doubloons with discount, for those that actually did invest money in the game..

Mindless? Get in a division and play and have a VERY fun time. The stupidity of allowing a division of 3 to play in this mode is the only gripe I have. If you want to complain about mindless grind fest then I suppose you're one of those that continuously skip lines by free exp'ing to the top? Becaus what else is going from Tier 1 to Tier 10? This event is what you make of it, nothing is free, I keep pushing that agenda, but people ain't paying attention because they for some odd reason think they are royally entitled to getting what ever they desire for minimal effort, the world rarely works like that. Having played world of warcraft for 6-7 years I can say the "grind" for Benham is NOTHING, it's only gripe is a pretty tight time frame, then the seasons in WOW had that too (albeit easier). I'm not saying one shouldn't comment on issues, but people complain about minimal issues.. Getting Benham for 7500 doubloons is what I suppose most will do, and that does NOT require the 48 of 50 containers, that requires you to play the game and have fun as you probably would, but it also requires you to play a mode you might not like (if so, you have to pay, it's only fair). 7500 doubloons is 235 NOK, about 24-25€, if that's too much for a T9 premium + potentially camouflages, coal, credit, captain exp, camouflages or what not, well that's ENTIRELY up to you. I don't complain that I think a Ferrari is WAY to expensive by sending letters or posting on Ferrari forums, I can chose to save money (grind) to get it, that's a grind indeed. But there are other things I want before a Ferrari.. :-) Steg, join us online, we're both Norwegians, we both frequent on the same forums and server. Try out divisions, if you need an invite to our Discord, no problemo :-). Guys, make a decision regarding your goal, work to it, get it, know what it'll cost before you start out and you'll never be disappointed! Now go farm that Benham..!! (The Hill is fun, (I don't have the time to do the last two directives, but am a noob and as such bought it) and if you want to have some extra tokens (play it once a day for 3 tokens) it's not a bad investment.. Hope you get a nice summer vacation!!!!

I am sorry to say I'm amazed at the greed and lack of understanding of even basic economy. A company is made to make money, you work to earn money, you buy what you want with money and in the end the circle is complete. Nothing is free, you have to invest time to get what you want for "free" where as I bet you don't give away your time without something in return, in this case the "return" is the ability to get the T5 DD HILL for a bit of work every week, you don't have to do the savage battles AT ALL to get it, there are missions in each directive that are not related to the event and will not even 2-3 hours every day to do it. I did all the missions the first day, and played less than 4 hours. What I think people misunderstand and probably is why they get mad is the anticipation of getting something for virtually nothing, a T9 DD for nothing? Missouri was expensive back then at 750k free EXP, that was before dragon flags and camouflages were abundant, now, the "free" T9 ships are a cool million free exp, with dragon flags/camouflages, ranked and in particular clan battles that's super easy and fast to get (2-3 seasons and you're there, with a semi active clan, not got a clan? Join one! Really, join one!). If you look at the effort to get 1.000.000 free exp or, well let's go back to 750.000 free exp for a "free" T9 ship (as this is a DD and as such cheaper (why? I cannot understand why a BB costs more than a DD in the premium shop)), that would require A LOT more effort than these missions (totally unrealistic, but lets say you earn 2k exp (thats 100 free exp) per match, to get 750 THOUSAND you need 7500 matches!!!!!, with PAPAPAPA you need 2500 ish. And you can add flags to your hearts content and get it much faster, but it'll still be a grind! The Big ussue is the 48 out of 50 daily quest chains you need to complete, if you play every day, you 'll get that easy, but you'll have to invest 2-3 hours, is it worth it? For me ? No, but I'll happily supply the game makers with cold cash to buy me free of the required time.. It's not pay to win, it's pay to reduce invested time. I skip a night out on the town with friends to instead do a night with friends eating pizza and drinking beer watching a movie (that'll save me over twice what I spent on containers), prioritise your investments... Now, sorry if I offended anyone, that was never my intention, but I'm saddened by the greed I feel flourish in here. Call me naive if you need to, I don't care. In the end it is a simple question with a not so simple answer: Is it worth it? Yes (for now, that's what I feel). Have a nice summer!

Update 0.8.5.1 - Ranked Sprint Fix & More

I am a total noob in CV's, but I love them. However, this new AA change was both good and bad. Bad for uptiered CV's as their planes now was easier to kill, harder to replace and impact in the battle lessened. T10 CV's now have to pick targets with greater care, don't waste your planes, even Haku will easily run out of planes. Pre dropping to save planes now becomes something of a gamble as you might not have enough planes to survive the onslaught (you lose planes not overall damage), torpedo planes now have a 100% useless skill called heal (as the damage aura eats your planes MUCH faster than heal replenish HP). What I think most complain over, and what most CV players don't do is scout, the singular best team based buff a CV can provide. And the reason why CV's don't scout is simple, this game is centred around economy, you get EXP and credits at the end of the day, credits matter WAY more, even with premium time. But here is the problem, a CV gets virtually NO exp nor credit gain from spotting or spotting damage, as opposed to a DD that gets much more. I can easily be bottom noob in the CV with a net of -200k credits and only 400 base exp but have well over100k spotting damage + spotting and a bit of damage and a few planes shot down. Flip the coin, if I focus on doing damage however, don't provide AA cover except if it's convenient for me, do the standard crap (rocket planes -> DD hunt (DD smoke, scout a bit, get torpedo planes)) I do fairly good, more often than not I'm among the upper half of the team and net a fair surplus of credits from it.. So, from my perspective I can either look after my own economy and do ok->good or provide the team with vision and hope they provide the damage I can't (as doing both is not possible without multiple squadrons). Now, stop bashing CV's for playing bad, for not prividing AA support or not providing vision. What I hate the most in the game are BB or long range cruisers (Yeah I'm looking at IJN and USSR cruiser players) wailing for "I need Intelligence", usually my calm self tell them to go get it themselves.. As a DD player I try to provide vision, cap.. I've learnt over too many battles that unless you see BB and Cruisers moving to assist you, provide cover, don't bother capping. The game will not be won by your team capping, because they're not a team, they're individuals playing for their own, not the team. This is a team game, but multipurpose ships get somewhat not rewarded for it. DD's do (I've got games where I've done less than 10k damage but gotten over 2k exp from just spotting, capping and defending), but CV's don't, I hope that can change if they introduce the "alternative" branch of CV's.

TAKE MY MONEY!... cough cough.. bought hill because I cannot make the latest mission farm I think. And I bought 32 containers, the value in the 7 extra I bought (of the 25) was bigger per doubloon spent as I got 1 camo in each of them (for the T10 dd's).. But, this let's me play for fun rather than sacrifice 1 month of my life which I cannot, as I have vacation, family and a job to take care of.. So, just about 100€ spent once every second month or so, not too bad, but then again.. This grind is serious, first T9 you can get totally for free in this way, but again.. quite an investment.. So, what I buy is time off, time to play casually, not burn out, not stress out, time with family and friends instead of wows. Not that I've not got good friends here.. And I like to think I help contribute to the game being "free to play" for those that want it totally free. Happy hunting!

Weekend Highlights – Ship Coupon Reset

Doesn't really matter much to me, to extend for those that are close to getting the needed 177k or whatever it is coal and still haven't used that coupon it's nice. For me that always spend them when I have them, I don't really care. To be honest guys, this not something worth getting riled up over. Save that to issues that you really are annoyed by. If you spend all your bile on everything that gets you peeved then when you're really mad about something, nobody listens, it's just the normal banter.. So, no worries.. we'll get our coupon, spend it and be happy :-). Have a nice weekend.!!! PS! Wouldn't mind another doubloon sale, or a personal 30% coupon :-).

    Current offer on Doubloons

Hi, might seem ungrateful, but the standard doubloon special offer has changed. It used to be aligned with WoT and WoWp, but now it differs wildly. WoT and WoWp both get 15% from 13001 and up, we get it from 17501. That's a pretty significant increase. Any reason except you're able to push for that on WoWs? -Pondering captain
  11. Don't think CV spotting is broken today as you sacrifice WAY too much today by spotting for your team (which usually will report you in the end for either just playing a CV, not giving them the fighter plane cover when they requested it or for not doing enough damage (spotting = no damage dealt, and you get no exp for spotting damage)... So, for a CV playing for the team, he will suffer greatly on personal achievements due to him getting no exp for spotting damage or spotting ships at all. Instead you will have solo players that on occasions will provide fighter coverage, but mostly will farm damage and exp (like all other players will, except it seems the normal monkeys thinks CVs function differently). What is needed in the game now is an understanding that a single CV is not ruining the game for more than 1 ship, and that ship always have an option, sometimes you're up a dark smelly creek, but most often than not the DD makes the daft decision of pushing instead of retreating then starts wailing on how OP a CV is at taking out a DD, only 1 CV in game has that potential at the moment; Midway (should be changed). Players usually keeps forgetting that CV's have a hard time instant killing as much as any other ship has, perhaps even more so. How often haven't DD's done devastating strikes with torpedoes , or BB's???), not heard any wailing about BB's or DD's being overpowered for a while. Guess the DD and BB crowd are now scared that 1 single CV can ruin the ENTIRE game as they no longer can play like before when CV's were not in the game. Same players keeps forgetting that before the change 1 single Haku could effectively spot the entire DD team for the entire match without much issues at all and in addition continue to deal damage to other ships.. Mehh, I love CV's how they are now, I am horrible at playing them, but now I don't have to be uber stressed about micro management, and the game play is more in line with how the other classes play..

Boost Through the IJN BB Branch in No Time!

Best comment here, at least the only one that thought it through. I see few Yamatos in the game, fewer with the Kobayashi camo which is exactly the same as the 5k doubloon T10 premium camo. Which is why it is so much better at T7 (Ashitaka) and T8 (KII), the price is expensive however (6k at T7 and 7k (same as T10) at T8). So, for those that are unfortunate enough to not have the missouri then the KII with the Koba camo is a good credit earner, if you like it.. I don't particularly like that they make these boosts for new players and nothing for us old timers from a time spent point of view, but from a T10 perspective I'ld rather have more pure T10 games (which are so rare it's insane) than fewer. So all in all, I'm jealous that new players gets to take shortcuts, but I'm also happy to play against more T10 ships and happy for the new players that gets these good deals on ships.. My only wish is that they would go back to the old system and provide full doubloon reimbursement if you buy a ship you have even if it is in a discounted bundle, it's a nice way to give the guys that has almost all ships some benefits..

Premium Shop in May: The Hunt for Bismarck

I wouldn't pay it if it was 1% of my monthly salary, still not worth it.. Meh ships and a boatload of T10 captains I would have to "retrain" for odd ships.. not worth it AT all.. For new players, more so, but you'ld be pretty tired of that wailing japanese language after a few matches, no matter how cute..

May Combat Missions: Bismarck in Action!

Yay to free stuff, no problem, the thing is people always think free = no money spent.. But money is so far away from the most valuable resource it's crazy few notice. TIME is the most valuable commodity in the world. And WG want's you to spend time in the game, the more that plays the more will play so they give a way a few trinkets (which they are) for "free" and most numpties go: YEAH! FREE crap!.. there's no such thing. They should have sold them, one by one.. not that I would buy any, and the collection is absurd, 36 to collect before .. august (might be wrong), going to be hard if you're not getting it from other places than the 3 from the missions and the daily ones (drop 1 in 3 for me).. That is an AMAZING amount of work for a 10pt cpt with a cheesy flag.. To be honest, playing that many games you'll have plenty of T10 captains in whichever nations boat your heart desire, so in the end that "free" one is worth a dusty fart. Now, the CHEAPEST 10pt you can get is by doing that quest chain, the amount of work you put into that one is doable with just regular game play and not too much effort, so I'll call that one cheapish :-). My positivity aside, don't buy these containers, not worth it..

    Update 0.8.3: the “Victory” Competition

May Combat Missions: Bismarck in Action!

Hmm my launcher claims you have a doubloon sale, alas there is none, just the same crapola as always. What I would expect is the same you've had on us side twice (correct me if I'm wrong) with discounts for certain payment options. Massively huge "MEH" again.. Quite a bit for new users (which seems to be the norm nowadays), but nada for old users..
  19. Not sure why they phrased the post like they did, I too thought ohh cool Ironium in each twitch container. But no, it's "regular" (and in WG terms that means very rare) and regular (standard twitch container with 100k credits++, which I've gotten a ton of) and then there is the myth about super containers (which will be one in every 100k containers dropped or something :-)). Not that I really care much, would have loved some as the gutted space battles are just a chore to play, no more fun :-(, no balance.. and WAY WAY WAY WAY too many battleship players.. when you have 4 bb's on your team of 9 it's a pain, they always without exceptions camp.. But this was about the twitch containers.. Keep em coming, would be nice if you surprised us with not telling us anything, that way we weren't disappointed or expecting what you wrote to be the truth.. Regular means regular, not rare!
  20. If you have all CV's don't buy containers, drop chance of ships are MUCH lower, they don't give out rebates anymore :-).
  21. Anyone bought the expensive containers and gotten CV's? I bought 5 and got 2 x 20 dragon flags (oro and hydra I think), 2 x 12500 coal and Graf Zepp (which I've regretted never buying when it was released). My first thought was: "Oh mama, I should buy 20 and get cheap doublons!!", then my common sense kicked in: "Quit whilst ahead boy!".. So my common sense was victorious for once.... I was just curious if others have had any bad or good luck with the new Naval Aviation Premium Containers.
  22. Well, you play on regular boats (quite a lot) to get 480 of the resource, then you need to farm spacebattles for the total of 300 if you want the maximum available, this will allow you to buy 1! module, if you feel rich you can buy an extra 4x240 (total of 960) for 4x5000 doubloons (which gives you a mission that rewards 240 ironium + 2x10 special flags + 10k coal). Which means if you farm like crazy on normal boats, then farm space (because space battles are T7 they yield significantly less gold and exp than T8->T10) you can leave with, having sacrificed hours of your life and 20k doubloons poorer, 1740 ironium richer = 2 modules and some other whack if you want. I have all the T10 ships, I'm going to go for the one I want, but haven't started on, saves me time, nothing more. To get to T10 you are not an average sunday player in the first place, and it is miles away from free.. You have to play a fair deal to get it which costs time, much more valuable than mere cash. -Fes

Update 0.8.2: From Britain to the Moon

Hmmm shouldn't containers be in shop now? Says from 10:00... or am I completely wrong?
  24. Well, it wasn't the camos that you can buy for 600 moronium, it's the special modules for the T10 ships.. and you can earn a TON more moronium than 300.. just from the first fly strike win you can get 480.. wow. suddenly it was a WHOLE lot better.. but I still think 240 for 5k doubloons is horrifically overpriced.
