What saddens me is the ignorance of old players and only catering to newer players. No doubloons if you have these ships.. Now that's an awesome gift... If you have a ship you get no discount in bundles anymore... Disappointed as always 😢.

Hmm bought 8 of the doubloon ones, just to see what I could get. No coal (which was the primary reason for buying), but a plethora of flags, which is nice. And the T5 ship. Worth it? Hmmm not really. Wonder what my tokens will bring, one can hope for a T8, but that's rare. I thought there would be like 15-16 to buy, but ohh no, 65!!!! that's just insane. Won't buy more doubloon ones. Not worth it.. Stay away...

Only lack 1 of the 86 ships... 😭.. Where's the Makarov??? And since I only lack 1 ship I will probably not be buying a lot of containers. Waaaaaay less steel this year (about half) compared to last year, morale is the same as last year don't buy ships.. Buy Christmas containers..

Friend bought 5 and got 3 ships, I bought 5 and got 1 ship.. he got T8 first then T6 and T5.. Do I care? Not really.. crap happens.. Rather open 1 and 1 than all 5 like I did..

Uhm... I really don't like you saying 0.8.9 is dedicated to the italian cruiser branch, because it clearly isn't, they're not available unless you get them in these containers. They will come in 0.8.10 if I'm not mistaken, so the celebration seems a bit preemptive, that celebration should be held in 0.8.10 when they are available to celebrate.. In 0.8.9 they're not there, so... nothing to celebrate..

So desperately want the Makarov... was hoping it to be available in the store.. alas :-(

Reading through the dissatisfied users I am amazed by the audacity and greed of some: "What about a reward for every 1000 battle played?" : As players have written before: There's a reward for every ship you own, after having played nearly 15k ships I suppose that user has all ships in the game where as others do not??? "What about discounts on ships and other items" : They are often enough, and to maximize your "container potential".. Just play the game.. jeeze... "Aww Conq is losing the guns less than 1% is using (guestimate as I've yet to see 1 single conq being played with those) and making a bit of a different ship available for coal..." Well you get overly compensated, by getting the stock for free if you've sold them. Basically there's few valid questions in here.. Clan brawl is one, Jingles as a commander is one, how the research bureau works in all of this another.. It's their birthday, suppose you go to birthday parties and complain about them not having that super special cake that nobody likes except you and makes a huge scene of it..

On T9 Alsace and would love to get a SC once I get Republique, even if it is a regrind. Was expecting the Ohio to be around that price point, not sure if I want that or the Colbert. Time will tell as you now have Thunderer that occupies the same slot (457)... Well, looking forward to this.. REALLY

Come to think of how they advertise the bundles. -30% discount, well that is ONLY valid if you have none of the ships or doubloon worthy items in the bundle, because if you have everything, the discount is 0%. That is the very definition of false advertising and probably illegal in most countries.

Why on earth should the discount be different? The starting price should. By your standards the rest of the "world" is worth 50% less to WG than CiS, or WG appreciates CiS over 100% more than the rest. Pick your point of view and it's a bleak picture.. Ohh well... Amazing discounts, not even visible in the store, I think the conversion rate between € and Kr took care of the discount :-)....

Wow, that's....... Daft.. That's a 40% increase in value of the dollar.. Or you get 40% more for the same amount of money.... We? Not so much.. About 16 or 17 ish %...

Always interesting to hear different sides to an argument, but BB captains being gnarly about a certain class of ships (lo and behold it's no longer CV's..... ) is nothing new. BB players (and I'm slightly in that category myself) do rarely adapt to new challenges apart from complaining more. The friesland is a squishy new DD without torpedoes, no threat whatsoever for a BB, but for the very thing BB's loathe: DD's. Smolensk and Colbert are dubbed as Cancer ships as players don't know how to counter these, whilst their kind has been in the game for a long time: Minotaur (AP spammer), Worcester (has everything except smoke), Haragumo (DD HE spammer with good torps), Khabarovsk (mega nerfed HE spamming DD, but still good/ok even after nerf), Gearing (HE spamming super concealed (with legendary module) US DD with good torps), Daring (UK HE spamming DD with smoke, hydro and torpedo single launch (amazing if you're good with it (I'm not)).. and those were only the T10 ones and I could have included Des Moines (first HE slinging cruiser) and Zao all of which operates under the same regime: HE to melt BB's. All of those ships are countered in various ways, have weaknesses and are seemingly ok. Yes, the Smolensk will probably be nerfed or removed from store, Colber probably not as it doesn't have smoke. Thing is, the game is ever changing, an introduction of a new ship means change, it might suck or it might not. Some good players find ways to play ships or specc captains that's just amazing. That doesn't mean it is broken. The game costs time, A LOT of time, I've spent my fair share of hours here, but I've spent a whole lot of money on it to save time as I find time grinding both boring and fruitless, but I must say, this new research bureau has actually rekindled some of my love of lower tiers, although I confess spending free exp up to T6 and T7 if I don't particularly love the early tiers of that branch. But playing from T7-> with camo and dragon flags net me on average over 10k EXP and 10k free exp every match, so from the 250k spent to reach T7 with modules I have now reclaimed nearly 100k. A friend of mine has reclaimed everything, but it requires you to spend dragon flags... And they're hard to get for free.. Not sure I'll do 4 lanes this time to get Colbert, having fun with the french BB line at T7 (soon T8) at the moment, let's see how that goes before I commit more. Regarding steel I agree with everyone here, more or less. I hate that it requires you to play modes that are either frustrating (ranked due to the possibility to save a star, players will play super safe for their own benefit before trying to win) or require you to play in a clan (clan battle). It's also a bit sad that the bonuses for being in a clan are so insanely good compared to not be (more free exp per fight, cheaper repairs, cheaper purchases (boats), more exp per battle, more captain exp per battle, steel and coal bonuses (up to 10%, but realistically 5% is somewhat easy to obtain in a clan (at least coal, steel is expensive). I long for campaigns (however long they need to be) either premium or like with warplanes (ways to skip long grinds if you spend money, but you can get everything for free if you rather want to grind) that will award steel. Some of the steel ships are OP (Stalingrad and flint and quite possibly Somers (remains to be seen)) compared to tech tree counter parts (Moskva/Kronshtadt) and atlanta (premium boat thought), but you'll find the same in both free exp and coal ships (Musashi in a T7 match is funny, I agree, but so is Missouri, Alaska and Azuma, not to mention Jean Bart). The new MM has been good so far, much less uptiering, at least in my tier 7 french BB, but I've yet to play enough battles I think to get the baseline set properly. Do not invest the time if you don't have it, time is the most valuable currency available. Thus I spend money to lessen the requirement of time to be invested. At the moment there are also MORE than enough ships available in the game, I'd rather want WG to focus on more game content or modes than even more ships. I can easily break the 300 ship in port if so desired, which is just crazy, I'll never play 300 ships!.. _So, more maps, content as game modes or operations (would love some operations for higher tiers (9-10) and lower tiers (2-4))..

My stats: Bought 15 with doubloons (not worth it, buy for real cash to get them cheaper, slightly) got T5 and T7. I must also say I bought both Siroco and Bayard (fun ship, but hard) just because I get doubloons when I farm it from the directives (siroco). Got Mogador on the 7th container (will update my former post where I said 10). Not gotten any ships from regular containers though.

There is no money asked for free to play games, what you perceive it to be is individual and irrelevant. I've clan mates that's not spent a single dime on the game and thoroughly enjoy it, not sure they got the Benham, but that's also irrelevant. So you found it valuable to play the game, it doesn't invalidate my point nor comment. What most players fail to include in the grinds are the "extra" things they get, To get the T9 Benham, you also got a T5, boatloads of credits, camouflages and flags and whatnot. You could even get camouflages worth 6k doubloons a pop, I personally didn't like the looks of them, but they're T10 premium camouflages. None of those items you get in the ~60€ bundles, perhaps those crazy 150€ bundles contain worth near what you get.... In the end, the value of what you get is individual, but if you don't find it worth it, don't grind it. Now this is why I tagged your post as funny, an ultimatum is NOT a choice. A choice can be multiple choices or just two. But there is no demand for all players to participate in the events. A choice does NOT imply several methods to achieve the same end result. Getting out of bed is a choice, but the two end results are not the same. Black or blue is a choice, but the end result is not the same. If all you ever wanted was Benham and you absolutely MUST have it, then your choice boils down to 3: 1. Grind and get it and a boatload of stuff (and a T5 premium) without paying anything but time (which I value above almost everything), 2. Grind what you want, play as you want and near the end of the event, buy containers to get enough tokens (and a boatload o stuff, but maybe not a T5 premium), or 3. Just whale out and buy containers enough to get benham (and whatever stuff you got in the containers). Your last comment about loot boxes I somewhat agree with, but then it must be done totally. Kinder Eggs = 18year age limit, football card pouches and Magic the gathering pouches or any card game you can buy pouches for = 18 year age limit. Any thing you do not know the EXACT content of the box (cereal boxes with toys inside, but various toys) = 18 year age limit. Any sort of promotion that includes you needing to buy a product or invest money or time in anything with a chance to win = 18 year age limit. I don't like treating one thing as the ultimate evil, when there already are and have been for ages, TONS of things that operate under the EXACT same idea: "You buy something, but there is a certain random element to some of the content." Anyway. Happy hunting.

Wow, never seen so much bile in a thread before. I suspect people never will understand free to play games and how they're funded. I wonder if the same people that whine about these events and how hard they are and how much they require of your time do the same with every aspect in their real life they invest time in. Moan to their boss that they should easily just have to work 80% of the time and be home the other 20% but receive the same pay. I never understood why people don't value choice, but really have to moan and whine about the choices they make of their own free will. If you don't like the game, don't play, if you don't like loot boxes, don't buy, if you don't like grindy mission chains, don't grind or play. CHOICES! Why should loot boxes be banned? Because some, a vast minority, can't keep their gambling habits in check? Should I not be allowed to buy because someone can't handle their impulses or because someone didn't win first prize? I am amazed that WG didn't chat ban the lot of the whiners, most of them are outright impolite and rude, constructive criticism is not mired in sarcasm and irony. Now pipe down, and play, or don't.. I don't really care, I'm enjoying the french event and the rogue wave, although I was unable to participate much in the rogue wave one :-(. Btw, for statistical purposes, I got the Mogador in the 7th bundle, got a lot of coal and dragon flags in the others, so not a bad deal.

@Crysantos what is the compensation if you buy the Siroco now and then get it from the Directives? Credits or Doubloons?

I'm no fan of grind, but I'm also no fan of whiners wanting to do nothing but invest time. Whilst time is the most valuable commodity available it's also impossible to pay your rent with time alone, you need to invest it in something->work. Same for WG, whilst the players invest time in playing the game, that won't pay for the game unless they put advertising all over the place, like "free" games on your phones are full of. So WG needs plebs like me that spend a stupid amount of money on the game, I've no problem with that. I have a problem with the players that provide nothing but whine after whine after whine regardless of what WG does. Boo frickin' woo that you didn't manage to do the crazy mission for 100 tokens that would have given you benham for 0$£€ or whatever, you can still get it very cheap. If you bought the Hill when it was available you could get 75 tokens over 25 days (but you would have to just do a quick coop to get it, not even have to win), that investment you would get back when you completed the last directive, that would give you hill's value in doubloons and you would actually have gotten a sweet deal, and not have to work your bum of to get benham.. I did directive 2 and 3 in about 3 hours of total time, but didn't manage to do the last due to vacation. Tough luck, I don't whine or cry over it, if I want the boat I would make sure I got it.. I do however like the campaign model, but I would love to get those like the christmas one for steel :-)... Anyways, hope you got what you wanted from the event..

Well, as one being unable to totally do the rogue wave event I sort of understand your point of view, but then I don't. I cannot really expect to be able to participate in everything that goes on, that's plain stupid. However, I try to take part in what I can and pay attention to deals ans special offers whilst away from the game. For the ones that actually do thoroughly love and enjoy the game, why shouldn't WG cater to them? It makes sense for them to have more events, events whilst CB or ranked goes on. Yeah, pretty bad if you're in a clan that actively do CB, but then you have a choice. It would be impossible to make everything available always to everybody.... The Rogue Wave seems grindy, but even I could manage to get the Benhame at a fair discount compared to Missoury or Alaska or any of the other free exp ships.... No Makarov was a pretty big let down.. Apart from that it seems it gravitates towards giving you DD's if you have all of the available ships, which makes the possibility to make good deals on doubloons very hard... :-(. Apart from that.... nice discounts.. I do however understand people that wants 1 ship but have none of the ones you can get are a bit disgruntled when you're not able to select which you get in the containers, but then again, whatever you get is either way at a discounted price so the deal is pretty good.

Uhm, sorry the comment about Base and free exp was for @anunnak .. In general I quoted you because you were the last to reply to the thread.. my bad :-). And yeah, daily wins are neigh on impossible unless you run a 3man div, then it's about 75-80% WR.. it's crazy how OP it is to run a 3 man div and focus fire down a group of 3 non divisioned players..

The dude claiming it's 20k free exp is wrong, it's base exp, not that that's much better (as you can't boost it). 20k base exp is about 15-20 matches in BB's, DD,'s CV's and CC's EACH.. That's a fair grind, but if you combine "normal" game modes and savage mode you can rather easy make even the fourth directive without too much effort. Getting Benham for normal play plus some savage play is worth it if you ask me.. That nets you T5 DD HILL totally for free and a ton of tokens, then you hopefully have done some daily chains (that'll net you 6 per day), but if you cannot be arsed to do the resource hunt in savage mode, then I don't feel free bad for you. You have the possibility, if you don't want to, don't.. What I loathe is people complaining that they have to play a specific mode they don't like in order to get something. Simply put, they just want to get it the way they want it, the world doesn't work like that, I would love to get paid millions to do my job, but my job ain't got that salary.. Should I complain to my boss for that? Jeeze.. Grow up, make a choice and stick with it! This is the most grindy event yet, I agree, it's also the one with the strangest rewards, strange in the sense you cannot use tokens for much sensible but camo, credits and Benham, not the special camos, not the normal, but special captains.. THAT's what I find disappointing. I suppose I mean if you want somehting for virtually playing as "normal", perhaps with a bit of sacrifice playing savage mode just to do the easy missions on the weekly directives, you can get something rather cheaply, T5. Of course, investing more (should me much more, which it is, but perhaps a tad bit too much) time, perhaps money and you might end up with a T9..
