I only noticed the minimap transparency which I think is a nice addition to the UI. I used a mod for this feature in the past.

I did not notice the changes to the Udaloy very much. If any her stats now look like they promote AFT+CE build a bit more, which is weird but so what. The reload seems ok-ish. But the changes to the Khabarovsk are really hefty! Again the reload is ok but the range.... oh my! This is defenitely too much of a decrease. She really needs to reach 14 km with AFT, that must be possible. She feels if she is chasing everything in order to get her normal job done now. Chasing is less of a problem with a 2+1 turret setup, but with her 2+2 setup the Khabarovsk loses 50%, which are noticeable indeed! With the increased solid angle she cannot effort to go more broadside in addition to the less accessible depth changes if she opens up her side. You should seriously rebalance the numbers regarding the range. It is understandable to tone down the Khabarovsk's output, but the range is too punishing in this regard. There are other variables: give her maybe 1% less fire chance in combination to the reload she has now and add 500 m to the base gun range she has now. Or keep the current numbers and change the concealment values. Give her 500 m to 1000 m less detection and decrease the detection range debuff after gunfire. She should retain the capability to shoot from stealth even if it is just for 500 m.

König: Bad ship, bad player or victim of tier 5 MM?
Z_OnkelE replied to thestaggy's topic in General Discussion
The König is quite solid as a T5. Her biggest problem is the search for cruisers in mostly T7 matches that get close enough. In the process to do so, it is not uncommon to be ahead of your own team and everyone enjoys serving you a nice BBQ or T7 BBs troll you with overmatch and normal penetrations. You can delete the occasional cruiser but you fight mostly against the current MM for T5. In T4-T5 she is a real bully and T5-T6 she feels in the right spot. -
The 12 point captain is trained for the Campbeltown. You need to retrain him for the new ship if it is not another premium ship but a regular one of the new cruiser tree.
-
Well she is a premium ship after all... With a lot of pre- in it... And most of all: secondary builds with her were cool befeore secondary builds were cool!

Those ship classes are pure evil! I once witnessed this particular member of our community and I can tell you, he is of the quickly escalating ones: shouting in pure rage whatever most offensive insult comes to his mind at that moment to comment on the CV/DD responsible for sinking him. A really joyful fella PS: divisions are, apparently, also unacceptable! Probably bad game design.

You have got 2/3 of your turrets in the front. You can effort to go bow on towards the enemys and still do resepctable damage. On the other hand: she has the benefit of decent reload and turret rotation time. This is quite usefull if you need to adapt quickly to a new situation. Another thing is probably the most important thing with the IJN cruisers in general: you need to develop a feeling when to fire and when not, in order to go stealth. Aoba is almost like a blue print version of the cruisers to come, maybe except the Zao. You have a very versatile ship with the Aoba: really good HE, AP if needed against broadside targets and awesome torps. The downside is those torps can backfire because of their arcs: you have to expose your side completely. The last advice maybe: practice.

This will give you a hard time if you are new to the ship. And actually the Blys has the slowest turning rudder with 5.8 s compared to the next slowest 4.8 s of the Kiev at her tier. Because of this your No. 1 problem are torpedo fans. I made the experience to avoid slowing down in a DD in general even with the modification because slow DDs are significantly easier to hit than fast ones: most player do not lead enough for fast DDs and if you slow down you simply end up in their salvo. The acceleration modification can also help with movement within smoke, a bit of a dangerous situation. You should take the rudder shift modification and the aiming system for increased accuracy for a start. Like others said already you want to go for the turret traverse speed later via captain skills. But this can wait even until you get 17 points done. Her traverse speed is on the same level as a Clemson with about 18 s for 180°. If you stay at range similar to the Kiev playstyle you won't notice the traverse speed. You know badasses will always be noticed. I am not sure if you want this to happen in a DD .

The term "useless" is quite harsh. She is, unfortunately, more on the weak side as a DD. I remember it came in really handy when they introduced the torpedo acceleration and with this skill she becomes noticeable more usefull. Like others said, this skill really helps. Her 2x1 gun setup is weird, she gains turret rotation speed, keeps her DPM but loses in punch per salvo. The increase in AA rating is negligible and you would prefer to not put it to test in the first place. Just adapt to her and then you will get along with the Hatsuharu afterwards (more punch in gun salvoes and torpedo salvoes but generally same layout). I had good games with the Hatsuharu and she felt more reliable than the Mutzuki. We will see how they will change them both in the future.

Yep, the Katori can't carry... except everyone remains stationary . I found it rather effective to do the USN DD-style torpedo ambush for quite a while now, if the enemy team pushes only one at a time (thus I don't call it "carry"). And the long range sniping is quite hilarious, too. For completeness: for the Iwaki Alpha the Aiming System Modification 0 is also available.

Just literally my face: Enjoy your new ship

She will become the T8 Katori

You should have stopped right there, when you were only thinking about it. This is not a basis for any argument. To make everything clear: - There has not been done nothing to change a mentioned specific ship to improve it. - Most changes to premium ships (especially nerfs) came into effect when mechanics for all ships changed, but these changes are no nerfs directly to those ships. - There have not been any nerfs specific to Kamikaze/Fujin, only buffs (the guns in particular with patch 0.5.8) since they have been introduced. To wrap everything up, I like to quote Eurobeat with about the Furry Tacco:

Z_OnkelE replied to Sehales's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
The idea itself sound good and obviously worked in reality. In the game it does not unfortunately because of this:
-
The other day I had a magical match in my Katori. I was able to do a couple of torpedo ambushes from behind islands very much like in low tier USN DDs. The enemys were very cooperative, too! After I looked through the maximum damage done on the scoreboards it turned out this was the 4th highest damage match ever done with this ship worldwide. (Very probably, the lists contain only players with 20 matches or more with a particular ship.)
-
That may be the case, the game was new and several players didn't know better. But even if they fired AP the shells looked the same in those days and that may have been missleading.
-
No, really that is just wrong. After I watched your video I have to say I couldn't see anything she would not be able to handle in her current state. If there was a situation, this particular video did not show these scenes. Seriously, when was the last time you sailed your Yubari? Are you aware of the Aiming System Modification 0 introduced with patch 0.5.7? And what do you expect from a T4 cruiser anyway?! They are all about as fragile as DDs! Due to my part I took in this particular match shown in the video below, I know why it ended up like it did and I know how to put it into perspective. Take a look and compare it to the scenes your video showed us.
