    Torpedo Acceleration on Gearing

Ship Torpedo Range (km) Speed (Knots) Surface detection (km) Damage Number Ship Concealment (km) Launch distance (km) Time to Target (s) Time in water (s) Reaction time (s) Vigilance (s) Vigilance and TASM (s) Gearing Mk17 16.5 66 1.4 17900 10 5.9 6.3 36.7 96.2 8.2 10.2 12.2 Gearing Mk17 (TA) 13.2 71 1.4 17900 10 5.9 6.3 34.1 71.5 7.6 9.5 11.4 TA improves accuracy by almost 3 seconds, or about 3.5 seconds if you include reaction times. A very solid upgrade. These are the best torpedo stats in the game.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

Both Fubuki and Hatsuharu get Type8 mod. 2 upgrades (10km) They've just dumped C-hull Fubuki at tier 6 with decent torpedoes. How does one line stand out from another again? (apart from being worse)

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

No, they won't change (see Gremyashchy) That was just in reference to Minekaze Minekaze and Fubuki are always the most played ships on the server, there's going to be lots of complaints. Yep, stealth fired torpedoes with 68 knots and a 1.4km surface detection exceed tier 10 performance. How on earth did they last this long at tier 4/5? Edit: It looks like names have been used to test the changes, whoops.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

Well, Minekaze and Fubuki are iconic ships in WOWS and they're about to get hit very hard (with Wakatake torpedoes )

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

Yes, by Amatsukaze and Okikaze. (Speculation)

Prepare for Ranked Battles Season 5!

Bismarck gets Hippers hydro. 5.58km ship detection and 3.84km for torpedoes, it lasts 118 seconds with a 120s cooldown. Your basically immune to scout destroyers. Charge into a cap and any destroyer (or RN cruiser) that can't turn and run in time will get wiped out. (Happened to me a few times already in a DD) Actually, Bismarck basically has several Hippers strapped to it that don't get instakilled when they charge in with you, I can't see German BBs having uber hydro for long

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

It looks like WG are planing to rename current tier 4-9 IJN DDs to avoid confusion (or hate) Hatsuharu becomes Wakaba, Fubuki becomes Ayanami etc.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

New leaks for tier 4 and 5 destroyers. (No more type 92 seal clubbing missiles and Isokaze guns have been nerfed a little) Amatsukaze (Isokaze class) > http://wows.ga/?p=431&lang=en Okikaze (Minekaze class) > http://wows.ga/?p=436&lang=en Take all info with a grain of salt.
  9. Oz crew OP, nerf plz (They probably mean 7.4s) Interesting consumables: Hydro and Smoke, Catapult fighter or Catapult spotter. I guess the fighter option is to compensate for no close range AA (56 dps vs 112 dps for Leander)

    Belfast shell velocity

    IJN 8" shell arcs? Hahaha dream on. You need to add air resistance and shell weight for arcs. Atlanta (24.5kg @ 792m/s) = 7.8s to 10km Cleveland HE (47.6kg @ 812m/s) = 6.5s to 10km Cleveland AP (59kg @ 762m/s) = 6.2s to 10km Błyskawica (24kg @ 900 m/s) = 6.2s to 10km Fiji/Edinburgh (50.8kg @ 841m/s) = 5.85-6.2s to 10km (guess) Neptune/Minotaur (60kg @ 768 m/s) = 6s to 10km (guess) Myoko (126kg @ 840 m/s) = 5.5s to 10km Nürnberg (45.5kg @ 960m/s) = 5.4s to 10km Heavier shells with a low air resistance are more accurate over longer ranges. Cleveland AP is faster than HE by almost a second (0.75) at 14km. They'll be like Cleveland AP.

    Cleveland cruiser WTF ?

27 HE shell hits from a Cleveland will average 11,000 to 14,000 damage to a Mahan. High dispersion won't allow you to continuously hit depleted compartments or AA/gun modules unless your at point blank range.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

35-37% higher DPM compared to all other tier 7 gunboats by my estimation. Fire chance easily overtakes the Kiev too. Then you've got 9 super spammy and powerful 10km torpedoes Those stats look completely unbalanced
  13. creamgravy

IJN high tier dds and the current meta

Forget DPM figures that only look at magical HE citadels agasint stationary targets with no dispersion, they're utterly useless. In game Shimakaze only needs 11% better accuracy than Fletcher for a higher DPM, that's very easy to achieve outside pointblank ranges. Expert Marksman normalises turret tracking. Khabarovsk averages 4500 more damage over 60 seconds (assuming both destroyers achieve 40% accuracy and you get the first volley) See a Khab with 4-5k less HP and no cruiser support? You could gun them down in a straight up fight. Learn to use those amazing guns.
  14. creamgravy

IJN high tier dds and the current meta

It means Shimakaze can outgun both Fletcher and Udaloi, Yūgumo should get the same firepower at tier 9. Hatusharu my fav IJN destroyer. Tiny and manoeuvrable with great weapons, it overtook the slow and clunky Fubuki when I got CE to tie it all together.
  15. I want that near 1000 dps on Neptune damn it! Wonder if a squad of tier 7 planes can make it past the 8.6km DP guns to the 7.2km DP guns?
  16. creamgravy

IJN high tier dds and the current meta

Fun fact: Shimakaze currently has the 3rd highest destroyer gun DPM in the game.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

Kamikaze, Kamikaze R and Fujin might become collectors items like Gremy. I don't think any tech tree destroyers will have access to 2x3 type 92 seal clubbers after the spit.

What is the bigger threat to you?

Fun fact. 4 fires and a flood will sink a full HP Yamato in 41 seconds.
  19. Here's my plan. (I've got enough free XP for Edinburgh and 5 RN captains with 12-16 points) Leander: Classic DD survival build with LS, SE and CE (Campbeltown captain) Fiji: DE and CE (a bit boring but high performance) Edinburgh: DE and CE (a bit boring but high performance) Neptune: 3x4 CV troll build with AFT, manual AA, DE but no CE. (Warspite captain) Minotaur: Undecided.
  20. Neptune and Minotaur should have good shell arcs, although we need to know air resistance for the complete picture. Atlanta AP/HE (24.5kg @ 792m/s) = 7.8 seconds to 10km Cleveland HE (47.6kg @ 812m/s) = 6.5 seconds to 10km Cleveland AP (59kg @ 762m/s) = 6.2 seconds to 10km Fiji/Edinburgh HE/AP (50.8kg @ 841m/s) = 5.8-6.2 seconds to 10km (guess) Neptune/Minotaur HE/AP (60kg @ 768 m/s) = 6 seconds to 10km (guess) Nürnberg HE/AP (45.5kg @ 960m/s) = 5.4 seconds to 10km Cleveland AP is faster than HE by almost a second (0.75) at 14km. My guess for consumables... Leander: Hydro, Fairey Seafox or smoke. Perth: Fairey Seafox, hydro or smoke. Ajax: Hydro, radar or smoke.
  21. Both Perth and Sydney are famous enough. HMS Ajax and HMNZS Achilles will follow Perth eventually. I worry about Leander being designated as the 'free XP paywall' of the RN CL line. Your a big squashy Farragut, gun DPM is no where near Flint/Atlanta.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

This is what could happen... Minekaze = 4 rapid firing guns with 2x2 torpedo tubes. (5 second reload, DPM similar to Izy) Hatsuharu = 5 rapid firing guns with 3x1 torpedoes tubes. (Similar DPM to Mahan) Shiratsuyu = 5 rapid firing guns with 4x1 torpedoes tubes. (Similar DPM to Mahan) Akizuki = 8 rapid firing guns with 4x1 torpedo tubes. (All get torpedo reload booster with smoke) Mutsuki = 2 rapid firing guns with 2x3 torpedo tubes. Fubuki = 4 slow firing guns with 3x3 torpedo tubes. Akatsuki = 4 slow firing guns with 3x3 torpedo tubes. Kagero = 4 average firing guns with 4x2 torpedoes tubes. Yūgumo = 6 average firing guns with 4x2 torpedoes. (slightly buffed Kagero) Shimakaze = 6 average firing guns with 5x3 torpedoes (same as now)

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

All destroyers are hybrids. I predict... First line = Remove a gun turret for AA. Second line = Remove a torpedo launcher for AA.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

Even if 40% of shells don't penetrate her DPM still exceeds a Fletcher and fires have always been the primary source of damage for 6" guns or less agasint battleships. Getting Akizuki and Black Swan so close together is awesome! Pew pew pew.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

Akizuki is Tashkent sized and slow, this isn't a small scout destroyer. 4" should be OK for damage. I think Großer Kurfürst is the only ship you can't physically damage but you'll need to aim at the superstructure for all ships, including destroyers. Luckily fire damage bypasses armour, I can see her being very captain skill intensive, maybe a 3x4 build over CE?
