HMS Belfast - Mini-review after playing at Chatham event.
creamgravy replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
I wonder what she'll will end up with? Speed boost with hydro and no HE or torpedoes will be very disappointing. At tier 7 the RN uber heal might will be a bit OP... -

My Sims got detonated at 100% HP by Bismarck's secondaries 10km away yesterday. I think I've gone from 50 to almost 100 detonation achievements since the DD armour patch. Tashkent detonation probability is around 30% for the first 5 minutes of a game, amazing for farming Juliet Charlie flags (over 400 stockpiled now )

Yep, Chap with CE is scary enough in random battles. It looks even better driven by a top player in a top team. Well played. Our EU teams probably have more competitive games. You guys did a super job commentating the OMC cup btw.

Against a US destroyer you'll need a 30% accuracy advantage to sink them faster than they can sink you (your HE DPM is higher) That's fairly easy to achieve at 7-8km.
-
This is the same for all cruisers.
-
This is true to some extent. The problem is HE is very consistent, there's no fancy mechanics involved.

New Japanese Destroyers - a Sneak Peek

I'd get a Darwin achievement every game -
It should be fine if they deliver slightly higher damage consistency to HE. The lack of normal AP alpha and HE DOT is a bit worrying though.

New Japanese Destroyers - a Sneak Peek

Can't wait to try them out Well, apart for poor old Mutsuki with 6km torpedoes, can't you leave her alone for once? Oh and Shiratsuyu doesn't have a 3x2 gun layout as stated in the video (Edit: beaten like a RN CL) -
Will anyone buy Belfast if all she does is shoot weak but moderately reliable AP? Imagine Prinz Eugen without torpedoes or HE.
-
HE explodes underwater too ...and with a 5-6 meter radius for a 6" shell. HE does solid damage to the 6-10mm superstructure section of a destroyer, will this new AP overpen it with a 12mm fuse? If they're going to buff AP to match simplified HE mechanics then just use HE.

Will the RN cruiser make high tier battles worse?

I'm not looking at accuracy, rate of fire or time in that example, just the average number of shells needed to sink destroyer. You'll have to use your average hit rate to see how quickly you can sink one. -

I have no idea how the new 6" AP will react with 6-10mm armour. Even with a 100% penetration rate Belfast will need to hit Błyskawica about 50 times. Myoko averages about 20 HE shells to sink Blys (not including fires and all that module damage) -

Here's some janky calculations assuming they reduce AP by half and removed HE. Belfast will need to hit Błyskawica over 100 times to sink her (assuming 90% overpens) Leander trying to sink Warspite? It'll take almost 7 minutes with all penetrating hits and a moderate hit ratio. Better hope Warspite doesn't heal or delete you in one salvo. -

What comes after RN cruiser line?
creamgravy replied to SomeoneYouKnow2's topic in General Discussion
Are they planning on one battleship, cruiser and destroyer line a year? 2016 - British cruisers (CL) 2016 - Japanese destroyer expansion (torpedo and gunboat scouts) 2016 - German destroyers. (heavy gunboats) 2017 - US cruiser spit. (CA/CL) 2017 - Russian Battleships 2017 - British destroyers line 1 (torpedo or gunboat scouts) 2017 - French cruisers 2018 - British battleships 2018 - Italian cruisers -

The best idea was to have ships in smoke get a reduced view range of 6km, same as the cyclone. -

HE spam at 20km with rail guns is fine becasue you can see them? I though WG were trying to get away for this camp fest meta? I played them as fun brawlers back when destroyer turrets were made from paper and even had Preventative Maintenance on the Khab. Flanking snipers and and hitting them with AP from behind was super fun. Those WG damage stats are from a different era too. Also my stats are fine, heck I'm still on the first page of top players by WTR for the Kiev (my only semi serious HE spammer) >> https://eu.warships.today/vehicle/4180555216/Kiev -

So to sum up. Smoke is broken. Fire stacking is broken. -

Just give us a line of fragile but stealthy Clevelands with torps already, screw the smoke. -

That already happens with Zao HE, fire damage more than makes up for the reduced rate of fire.
