Your probably not getting detonated. Both tier 9 and 10 CLs sit very high, are very wide and have extended citadels. Any BB with a half decent aim will delete you in one salvo, no RNG needed. (They need to be dropped and/or have the top hitbox removed like T6-8)

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

At least they fixed the engines! Here's my list of cruisers that should get a buff first. T2: Chester. T3: Kolberg. T4: Danae. T5: Emerald. T6: Nürnberg. T7: Pensacola. T8: Hipper and New Orleans. T9-10: I don't play enough but one or two could do with some polishing. -
I've just seen Hanszeehock smashing the enemy team in a Akizuki. It looks great!

I keep them on my ships in port. They look amazing, especially the Fairey Seafox Someone on Warspite should have a spell in the brig for only putting 100 seconds of fuel in the Walrus though. RN CL spotters get 180 seconds of fuel. -
RN CL AP is fairly useless agasint tier 5 or lower destroyers, you just overpen the 10mm sections. Leander is miles better with tier 6-8 MM.
-
The top scores for tier 6-8 will be around 4000-4500 base XP. (domination game with lot's noobs, solo capping and 150-200k damage) I'm miles off with only 3031 for Edinburgh and 2997 for Fiji.
-
Emerald is beautiful, keep her at tier 5 ...with Mk II 10km torpedoes. Boom, suddenly you get the most fun ship in the game (without being OP) <3
-
This is the best setup for me. Main Battery Modification 2 with the 155mm guns is also viable combo.
-
Hands up if you've underestimated that unassuming, little Leander and got royal spanking. I have many times.. What a great ship.

Give Emerald 10 km torpedoes like Furutaka. Fun times. Actually Tier 8+ have much better heals than Warspite.

Hi guys. Now the RN CL line has been released without HE what's the plan for captain skills? Here's two I'm thinking about for Edinburgh. Sensible (7 vs 7 ranked build) 1. Basics of Survivabilty (let those fires burn for your heal) 2. Torpedo Armament Expertise (65 second reload!) or Expert Marksman (Reduces turret rotation by 2.3 seconds over 360 degrees) 3. Superintendent (no brainier) 4. Survivability Expert (39,600 HP for the heal) or Advanced Firing Training (buff close/mid range AA) 5. Concealment Expert (9km surface detection is essential) 6. Expert Marksman + Basic Firing Training (or Vigilance) http://shipcomrade.com/skillcalc/00100110000000100100000100 or TRIGGERED (Random battles secondary HE spam build) 1. Basic Firing Training (I need) 2. Torpedo Armament Expertise (to get) 3. Torpedo Acceleration (within 7.6km) 4. Advanced Firing Training (to burn) 5. Manual Fire Control for Secondary Armament (those BBabies) http://shipcomrade.com/skillcalc/01000110001000001000010000

^^ Well, that's me done with tier 9-10. It's virtually impossible to get a fun game. Time to try the mighty Emerald!
-
Only tier 8+ can heal citadel damage.
-
I think SE gives an extra 5000-6000 HP when you include the heal (13-15%) but it's tough give a good estimation. However that initial 9% boost goes a long way when your in the front line. 6000 HP vs manual AA (or AFT) is a tough one in a CV heavy meta. They're all good options.
-
Danae has broken citadel deck armour, it should be 25mm but has been accidentally put back to the generic tier deck plating. Any destroyer HE will citadel you on the deck. So watch out for HE spammers.
-
By looking at damage received at the end of the game. (SE is still a bit subjective, I haven't tested/calculated anything Don't forget you can heal citadel and torpedo damage like normal)

Edinburgh bounces 8" AP all day long. Your functionally like all tier 8 cruisers agasint 8" AP, maybe stronger due to more overpens on the hull/superstructure. (Bow/stern on or decent angle = bounce, broadside = citadels, above the belt = overpen if it doesn't bounce) Fiji is very vulnerable to 8" AP through the nose, Belfast slightly less so. Angle these ships agasint 8" AP, don't go bow on like Edinburgh. The smoke generator broke down in my first game. I was very salty in chat before getting deleted.
-
I love the shell arcs. They strike a perfect balance of looping over islands (and friendly ships in smoke) without going off your screen. The New Orleans? Yeah, maybe in your first battle ...then you realise it's got pitiful HE DPM and you can just angle agasint the AP. It's all the other ships shooting at you that's the problem.
-
Yeah, that's what I've settled on for my Gerard Butler brawler. Equipment upgrades: Auxiliary Armaments Modification 1: The main guns are well armoured and torpedo tubes are hidden. Protect your AA modules from HE spam. (Still not 100% sold) Damage Control System Modification 1: You never loose engines. Steering Gears Modification 2: Easy choice. Secondary Battery Modification 2: Useful agasint ships rushing your smoke or DDs appearing in sonar range. (AA Guns Modification 2 would be better in a CV heavy meta) Concealment System Modification 1: Easy choice. Captain skills. Basics of Survivabilty. Torpedo Armament Expertise. Expert Marksman. Superintendent. Survivability Expert (gives you 60-80k HP with your super heal and India Delta) Concealment Expert. (Basic Firing Training will be my last skill)

RN light cruisers will always be high risk brawlers.... How many puffs of smoke will I get today? Does this guy know how to angle? Will I ever get used this funky rudder? It only took 56 (non-premium) fun filled games in Edinburgh to research Neptune. These cruisers are amazing for gunboat destroyer vets What's up CV dudes I've got no defensive fire... Free kill over here!

Great video Flamu, always straight to the point Although I think you've got the 6" AP scaling the wrong way round. It's terrible at low tier but workable the higher you go thanks to all or nothing armour schemes and large superstructures. Tier 3-5 heavily armoured Dreadnoughts (and CAs) with no superstructure are much more scary than tier 10 Tomatoes if you only have small calibre guns. How about doing a training room video with a Minotaur vs angled Kaiser/König at 8-10km, then the same agasint a Iowa/Yamato.

First of all I'd congratulate them for hitting a Tirpitz 79 times without being melted whist still staying relevant to the game.

How to unlock HE ammunition for British cruisers

New record for me. Tier 10s and a Taiho had to do almost 80k to bring me down in this game. -

Fiji and Edinburgh will be nerfed hard over the next few months, enjoy them whilst you can (or buy balanced Belfast..)
