HMAS Perth: Reviews from Community Contributors

I'll only buy if they bump it down to tier 5 and give it the tier 8 equipment slot. Edit: ...and preferential matchmaking where I only seal club tier 4-5 noobs.

    Royal Navy Tech Tree Proposal

What do you guys think about a premium HMS Hawke? It was a scrapped Swiftsure/Minotaur/Tiger class with 3x3 mark 24 DP guns. Does anyone have any more details on the guns? A Fiji with 3 'Neptune like' turrets would be epic (Tier 7-8)

    Best Cruiser Line

Tier 3-5 have it tough. Tier 6-10 are amazing. In simplified terms. IJN = All rounders. RU = Snipers. (HE based) KM = Snipers. (AP based) US = Brawlers. (very hard to play, will get spit into CL/CA and re balanced eventually) RN CL = Ninjas.

    Concealment Expert on Minotaur

Sounds like a fun idea. Maybe one for Perth style smoke where you can keep moving? I haven't been using smoke much on my Minotaur and always have 2-3 charges left when the game ends. The enemy keeps running off into a corner, come back! Sure I've just ripped apart all your DDs but you need to cap! What did everyone take for the 4th skill? I'm completely stuck. AFT (meh, no secondaries) Manual AA (meh, doesn't buff your powerful AA guns) SE (meh, won't stop you being deleted by BBs) DE (No HE but could use as Belfast captain?)

Benson (or T8) in T10 games (META)

Benson is functionally identical to Gearing, have no fear. Yeah, people are very scared and overly cautious at tier 9-10. Personally I go in extra hard for these games, there's a high probability the entire enemy team have lemming trained into a corner and potato IJN DDs are off hugging the boarder.
  8. I see your Atlanta and raise you Neptune (a tier 9 Cleveland) Damage is largely dominated War Gaming's made up 'tier plating', it's all the blue stuff when your looking at Cleveland in the armour viewer. You could balanced her for T10. In general. Tier 4-5 = 13mm hull, 10mm superstructure. Tier 6-7 = 16mm hull, 13mm superstructure. tier 8-10 = 25mm hull, 16mm superstructure. This enables rules like tier 8-10 hulls can't be damaged by small calibre HE, tier 6-7 can't be over matched by 8" AP etc. RN CLs have been bumped down one group for smoke/gameplay and Baltimore gets a 27mm hull to bounce 15" shells for gameplay.

    Leander - a definate keeper!

Leander and Fiji need to angle to bounce 8" AP, they can bounce BB shells off the belt too. Although I recommend just charging down BBs in Leander as it has no citadel in the front, I don't think there's a better cruiser for the job Edinburgh will auto bounce 8" AP off the bow/stern.

    British torpedo detectability

Mk II = 1.1km (8 second reaction time) Mk V-VII = 1.2km (7.8 second reaction time) Mk IX = 1.3km (8.2 second reaction time) IJN Type 8 have a 10 second reaction time for comparison.

    Upcoming IJN Destroyer split

    British ships are a joke

Winning! (spoiler: there's no superstructure on low tier ships. Just armour, guns, smoke stacks and rigging.)

    HMS Hood

Hood is going to troll a lot of people thinking she has weak armour.

    Regarding British Destroyers.

In a recent Q&A they said British destroyers should be released in 2017. I've been sailing Neptune quite a bit and it's fantastic. The Battle and Daring class destroyers are essentially small, stealthy versions. Can't wait

Royal Navy T9: The Fierce Neptune

RN CL gameplay 2016. Neptune seems to suffer more smoke bugs than the rest. I've had wonky puffs at all speeds, even at 11-13 knots in reverse! Don't forget to be really salty in chat instead of trying to back up or escape, your super dead I'm going for the full janky 3x4 AA build with Neptune. Screw concealment and a faster reload when you've got the best AA in the game

How to make the RN CL's more fun to play

The arcs are perfect, leave them alone.

    Guide: British Cruisers

The worst is forgetting to reequip smoke after looking at those great float planes in port. Get into a good position close to the enemy > slow down > hit the U button > "spotter deployed" > Oh shiiiiiii

    Leander - a definate keeper!

I've chucked my Campbeltown captain in mine Leander, Fiji and Edinburgh are all worth keeping. (I'd still kill for a bit of HE *Perth cough*)

    Is the Belfast REALLY overpowered?

Those 3 Belfast vs 3 Pensacola games are so much fun. I still can't understand why they released this joke of a ship.
