EWP destroyers (S-C class) are perfect for tier 7. Battle and Daring are perfect for T9-10.

I never get tier 8 MM with Perth anymore and my average damage is tanking hard. Buff her so she gets preferential T8 MM all the time please. Stealth torp advancing ships, stealth HE spam retreating ships, relocate to mess up any remaining DDs, brawl with a BB, brawl with a CA, set up ambushes, kite BBs. The list is endless, play her like a big DD and have fun. 'Experimental' games with virtually no XP probably. That's my excuse

Ships that served in the Korean war had a flag for areal identification, like Mighty Mo and Belfast. No idea why they gave it to a f2p ship but it's awesome

I've already melted several Yamatos with Akizuki AP, there's no difference between T8 and T10 plating. 4" guns are fine.

Akatsuki is similar to Błyskawica or Leningrad with better spamtastic torpedoes (type 8 are the best for that sweet, sweet 63s reload. Drooooool) Most IJN DD players have just got used to Concealment System Modification 1 and think all large/fast DDs should have a sub 6km surface detection. The IJN DD lines are a bit messed up lines too. It should be Hatsuharu > Shiratsuyu > Kagero > Yūgumo etc.

Nothing has changed. Hatsuharu is a classic IJN scout. Stay hidden, spot for your team (ideally other DDs) and go for intelligent, surprise torpedo strikes. Use guns to polish off low HP ships or try and set fires on ships that have just repaired. Fubuki is a classic torp spammer, same as she was at tier 8. Spam choke points, caps and smoke with torps. You can pump out as much damage as a Yūgumo with all the reload buffs. Let the scouts cap. If the enemy team runs just spam your guns at them. -
After a few games I think a 3x4 build might be the most useful and fun. She's very clunky for contesting caps and you get punished like no other DD for getting caught out. Here's what I'd go > http://shipcomrade.com/skillcalc/01000000010010011001000000 T8 DD table below.

This is what the IJN DD lines should look like. Line 1 - Torp Ninjas 2 x torpedo launchers. Fast, close range, high damage torpedoes with a slow reload. Tier 5-9 have the choice of reload booster (30s) or speed boost consumable. Old school IJN DD guns. Line 2 - Torp spammers. 3 x torpedo launchers. Slow, long range, low damage torpedoes with a fast reload. Single fire torpedoes. New school IJN DD guns. Line 3 - Gun boats. Small calibre, rapid firing guns Average torpedoes. Mutsuki, Hatsuharu, Shiratsuyu, Kagero, Yūgumo and Shimakaze are still the best 'torp-ninja' destroyers per tier. (That should've been the main line) Fubuki and Akatsuki are insane torp spammers. Aim for general areas, smoke clouds and choke points over the white cone (unless it's a BB noob)

The Kamikaze class destroyers have tier 9/10 torpedo performance. Minekaze has low alpha but high DPM (torp spammer) Mutsuki has high alpha but low DPM (torp striker) You typically don't see both together until tier 9. DD, crap IJN, let's reduce detection, torp range, and reload time

Yep. IJN DD captains should get a free reset. Torpedo acceleration is great but you really need concealment expert on these larger ships. Wait a few months for the major skill update or retrain the captain back to the Hatsu/Poi. Use type 8 mod 2 torpedoes on the Akat for a 63 or 70 second reload. They're best in the whole game for spamming zones No, Akat is competing for the best tier 7 DD. Maybe it helps if you've played US DDs like Mahan with worse concealment? -

The whole 'HE spam is stupid' comes from the RNG nature of fires, not the skill of landing long range salvos. One random HE shell can take off 10-20% from your HP, very painful for ships with no heal. -
Well I'm having fun rolfstomping BBs left, right and centre Just did 170,000 damage in Shiratsuyu, my 3rd highest in almost 4000 destroyer games. Akatsuki can pump out 9 x type 8 torps every 63 seconds for more potential damage than a Shimakaze with type 93 mod 3s AND it has similar HE DPM to Leningrad. They're beasts. What do you want for your IJN DDs? Instakill missiles when you get within 10km of a BB? Sounds a bit boring to me.

The new IJN balances are almost perfect. WG nailed it. Although Shiratsuyu and Akizuki don't need the torp reload booster consumable, it feels like KM BB hydro and RN CL heal. (Artificially stuck on to boost power levels when they don't need it)

Błyskawica is a premium tier 8 A-hull with preferential MM. Similar to König Albert, Beltfast etc. I guess you could do the same with Cossack for maximum seal clubbing. The Mk XII guns should be balanced for classes with only 4 guns, like the S/T etc. Unless they use sAP for one line and HE/AP for the other. That would be ...awesome!
