IFHS - FP - RL/RPF/RDF testing in progress
creamgravy replied to SinkTheOthersNotMe's topic in General Discussion
IFHS = Essential for 152mm cruisers with HE. Wall hack = LUL ..but what to take first? -
What build on fletcher (utility or [edited] build)
creamgravy replied to Ysterpyp's topic in Archive
You should expect high tier CV players to scout and strike DDs first. Manual AA with defensive fire is a hard counter, especially combined with the new BFT. Yeah, it's also great for Sims too. -
Japanese Stealth skill set request - 0.6.0
creamgravy replied to Sukasaa's topic in General Discussion
Looks good to me. Although I'd swap SI for SE and maybe TAE for BFT depending on IJN DD. http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/01000000001000010100100000000011 -
What build on fletcher (utility or [edited] build)
creamgravy replied to Ysterpyp's topic in Archive
Here's my first draft for a utility Fletcher build. You don't need CE at high tier anymore. 6.5km is more than enough for running from radar cruisers/KM BBs. -
the myth that taking rpf means sacrafices...
creamgravy replied to Kutfroat's topic in General Discussion
No BB captains chose situation awareness until they started getting wrecked by it. What happens if you show broadside to an enemy BB you can't see or know where they are? -
It's a 4 point 'situation awareness' skill that's very boring but incredibly powerful. All ships will start using it eventually and after 6 months WG will make it standard on all captains or remove it completely.

Give her 10km torpedoes like Furutaka, screw buffing anything else.
-
Ognevoi firing arcs are a bit rubbish and showing broadside to a Farragut at close range is a quick way to to the bottom. Bump up HE alpha back to 1900 your still only looking at 10,500 DPM, same as a Kagero and a B-hull Benson is pushing 15,000.

Patch 0.6.0 Patch Notes - RPF is still a thing
creamgravy replied to StuntMan0369's topic in General Discussion
Tier 5 will be RPF equipped Kamikaze running from RPF equipped Kamikaze, each assuming they're being track by a Blys (who's still afk at spawn) I'd take Izy over Clemson at tier 4. Higher HE DPM and can safely roast KM BBs at range after messing up the KM DDs. -
They wont put Ognevoi at tier 8 without a big buff, 2x3 launchers and 2x2 guns isn't enough. The alternative line might get mines. How will Minsk differ from Leningrad, slower rotating guns maybe?

Are IJN destroyers just bad or am I missing something?
creamgravy replied to SaxonHoliday's topic in Destroyers
Most high tier IJN destroyer players are utterly useless. In random battles the team with the most potato IJN DD and BB players loose the game. -

From NA and Reddit: Public Test 0.6.0 Part 2
creamgravy replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Inertia Fuse pen relevance table. At 30% 150-152mm guns can now damage most BB hulls and 120mm HE acts like 130mm HE. 100mm guns need a 50% buff to move them into the next level (damage cruiser hulls) -
Bah, I wish played against high tier CV players like that.

so WG you dont give a f. about Belfast smoke problem ?
creamgravy replied to Fizzy_Odin's topic in Archive
Throttling back and forth. It was done by accident trying to set up a nice big blob for some offensive smoke action. I stopped in front of a Colorado, looking like a right plum with 1 puff miles behind me. -

creamgravy replied to Fizzy_Odin's topic in Archive
I've managed to replicate the RN CL smoke bug with Shinonome, only one puff in 20 seconds travelling at ~18 knots. -
German Destroyers, It has been an honor playing you!
creamgravy replied to VeteranGamer84's topic in Destroyers
Chasing after a Taiho, Hakuryu or Midway is pointless in any destroyer or light cruiser. -
OP British Bofors (What're the best Bofors in the game?)
creamgravy replied to TheRamblingBaron's topic in General Discussion
Here's some better pictures of why they're higher. It's a shame we can't zoom in on the various fire control systems or see the info, the details are fantastic. USN Mark 1 Bofors and Mark 51 director (circled in red) RN Bofors Mark 5 RP50 and C.R.B.F director with type 262 radar. (circled in red) For comparison. USN Mark 1 Bofors and Mark 63 director with radar (not in game, no idea which ships were upgraded irl) -
It's 50 modules.

OP British Bofors (What're the best Bofors in the game?)
creamgravy replied to TheRamblingBaron's topic in General Discussion
STAGG and Mk 5 RP50 are the only mounts in game with radar fire control, so Hazemeyer with built in Type 282 radar should be a bit better than the standard Mk 5 and US mounts. Probably 20 dps per mount? Faction Name Radar DPS per gun PL wz 30 - 5.5 IJN "Chi" Type 98 - 5.5 USN Mk 1 - 5.7 RN Mk 5 - 6.3 RN Mk 4 Hazemeyer Type 282 RN Mk 5 RP50 Type 262 11.7 RN STAAG Type 262 12.7 Wonder if they'll ever add US radar to Mk 1 and Mk 2 mounts? They all use basic mark 51 directors, even at tier 10. ...and Leander (aka Ajax '43) who should have Type 282 directed US Mk 2 mounts. Looks like she never returned form Virginia to get them fitted. -

STAGG is the mount name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bofors_40_mm_gun -
OP British Bofors (What're the best Bofors in the game?)
creamgravy replied to TheRamblingBaron's topic in General Discussion
How about Belfast vs _FTD_ in a Shokaku? It's the modern radar directors that give them a high DPS, they can blind fire. As for the best 40mm Bofor mounts in the game? Neptune take that prize. -

Are the Belfast and Scharnhorst worthwhile purchases
creamgravy replied to thestaggy's topic in General Discussion
It's amazing how many people completely ignore every other ship on your team to shoot Belfast. I've never played another ship like it. Last game I popped smoke near a cap, instantly left undetected and the enemy BB lemming train spammed shells into the empty smoke until it ran out. Not even looking at 5 broadside teammates at 12km. Crazy. Oh yeah, Perth > Belfast.
