Pfft, St Paul would bounce everything off the dome and look at those pen figures! Warspite wouldn't stand a chance.

Ranked will be dominated by these two ships.....

Leberecht Maass and Akatsuki are very similar to Błyskawica and Leningrad. They all have good speed, good guns and good torpedoes. Akatsuki is my no.1 fav at the moment. The only ones with a unique advantage are... Shiratsuyu - The only tier 7 destroyer with great concealment. Other destroyers can't push into you, assuming your team mates have played this game before. Sims - The only tier 7 destroyer with amazing AA, better than most T7 cruisers with the right captain. It'll crush CV heavy meta. -
Season 4 had tier 5-6 and tier 6-7 brackets. Lot's of Mutsuki and Fuso at rank 20-15.
-
Let's see how quickly one of the most popular tier 7 destroyers, Błyskawica, can melt a full HP Fiji (Belfast) showing broadside between 3-4km with AP. Can you guess how many salvos it takes?

Does the Sims still have her improved XP multiplier?
creamgravy replied to AbuHajar's topic in Destroyers
You need to look at the 2 week results agasint all ships with over 2500 games. Sims gets tier 10 XP. Winning the game is the best tactic. Belfast and Saipan can rack up XP too. -
What are the best DD line for killing/hunting other DDs?
creamgravy replied to MadGelo's topic in Destroyers
Hunting other destroyers? IJN if you have half decent team mates. US for random domination battles RU for random standard battles -
It's only worth looking at stats over the past two weeks, the meta has changed significantly with new captain skills like IFHE. Fiji is still crazy good and probably a bit OP, nerfing the belt armour to 89mm should help.
-
It has over 40k games on the EU server in the last 2 weeks. Look at that win rate per number of battles, scary stuff. (Gremy, Impregnator and Kamikaze variants are OP according to WG)

Belfast and Fiji have absolutely amazing citadel protection. In battle that means. Destroyers can't citadel them. Light cruisers can't citadel them at 10km+ Heavy cruisers can't citadel them with a half decent angle at 10km+. Only the nose/bow is weak to AP but you can work around that. Battleship AP? That's a problem for all cruisers, your just much closer that other crusiers. Fiji should have 89mm protection like Atlanta and not this OP 114mm belt armour.
-
Yep. That's with defensive fire, manual AA, BFT and flag. You can cycle it very quickly with Jack of all Trades + November Foxtrot, especially as your running that for US smoke anyway. Sims has amazing AA for tier 7. I wonder if some 'team battle' Benson's run manual AA with BFT? Mind you, they don't have to face those damn T9+ Saipan planes.

My Sims has 306 DPS at 7.2km.

Congrats everyone! (I had a few 3000+ base XP games in Maass and Z-23 but don't think I signed up this time, ah well)

Why can't we have the close quarters maps on high tiers?
creamgravy replied to MadGelo's topic in General Discussion
Derzki plops out 10 torpedoes every 22 seconds. With the right yolo skills she can hit a staggering 34 torpedoes per minute! Shimakaze only manages 9 F3s in the same time. -
Favourite ship by enjoyment: Perth Gets to use all the fun new captains skills. (IFHE, RL, 2 planes 1 ship, Priority Target etc) Favourite ship by carry/achievement/economic potential: Any 'balanced' premium. Personal Favorited: Perth, Leander and Błyskawica. Can't decide. Least favourite ship to face: Any CV No.1 Saipan player on EU server has your team permaspotted with planes that can't be shot down, your Ranger bot is afk ...and here come the T9 bombers. This game is going to be fun!

Leberecht Maass is a great all round destroyer, a bit like a tech tree Błyskawica/Leningrad. Only the 3 skills you listed are essential, the rest can be used to enhance your preferred playstyle. Here's a few suggestions. Have fun! Gunboat: http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000000000011000010100000100119 This classic build gives you a higher HE DPM than Leningrad and sets almost as many fires as Błyskawica. Great for random battles. Scout: http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000000100001010000010000001119 If you like spotting, capping, torpedo strikes and skirmishing with other destroyers. (I ended up with this build) Scout brawler: http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1100000000100011010000000000001119 A bit more aggressive for those that like starting fights. (My Błyskawica captain) Torpedoes!: http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000000000011011001000000000119 Turning Japanese?

In team/ranked the primary role of a destroyer is to spot, protect teammates, cap and stay alive. Battleships win/loose games and they're much easier to protect than sink. Shiratsuyu is the furthest ship forward and vigilance gives you and your teammates more time to react. Superintendent would be my first choice if I could guarantee a good CV player every game.
-
Why do you think they added the 'located' notification to enemy ships, to stop Kamikaze from being totally broken. RL and close range torpedoes are a bad combo, it tells the enemy torpedoes are on the way. That's why many have dumped F3 or Torpedo Acceleration at higher tiers as RL is essential for the primary destroyer role of capping, spotting and staying alive.
-
Why wait that long for torp walls? Akatsuki can pump out nine Type 8 torpedoes every ~55 seconds with the right skills, that's comparable torpedo DPM to a fully upgraded Shimakaze.
-
Competitive Mahan (C-hull with defensive fire in heavy CV meta) http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000001000001010001000000001119 Competitive Shiratsuyu. http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000000100001010000010000001119 No more Torpedo Acceleration in a world of RL and 8.5km radar.
-
Deleted by a sneaky BB you didn't see coming? GG. Stumbling into a wall of skill? Part of the game. Cruiser sets 2 fires just after you've just repaired? Damn you RNG! Being utterly humiliated in the first minute of the game by a carrier? Salt, pure salt.
-
18 points is enough. (1200 total AA DPS, Belfast has 375 DPS with the same captain)

Get your wallets ready - the next Ranked season will be T7 again

How the hell does Fiji beat a Belfast? I've been crushed by them in Neptune. If one team has a good Belfast player and the other doesn't have a radar cruiser then GG. Maybe a multiple Scharnhorst rush and hope the Belfast has a potato team mates? -

All the tier 7 destroyers are fairly well balanced apart from wonky Kiev and Shiratsuyu's reload booster. Any of them can reach the top with a good captain and sensible play Sims is the only tier 7 DD with good AA at this tier, especially with a good support captain. I'd certainly ban Belfast and maybe Flint from ranked.
