    Which Hood?

With the values from RN CLs here's Hoods AA at tier 7, not including UP (1941) Hood (41) Range (km) Mounts DPS Max range Max DPS Vickers ‎12.7 mm Mk III 1.2 5 11 1.7 15 Vickers 40 mm 2-pdr. Mk VIII 3 3 59 4.3 78 102 mm/45 QF Mk XIX* 5 7 105 7.2 277 Total 175 370 Note: This uses Fiji 4" Mk XIX* guns (15 DPS per mount) and T7 Pom-Poms (3km range vs 2.5km at tier 6) Tier 7 comparison. Hood has decent long range AA but she's not covered in small mounts (good protection agasint HE spam)

The Under-performance of KM Armor Piercing

I think that's for tier 9-10 LC/41 guns? The curves are a bit rough but they give a good indication of how to use the AP. Don't try and citadel cruisers at 5km, use it against broadside superstructure/hulls at 8-12km. How much damage can a DD do to a broadside Yamato in 60 seconds, with AP at 9.3km? Result.

The Under-performance of KM Armor Piercing

Do you really what to get within 5km of a high tier cruiser, pray they show a flat broadside and not shoot you? Real world difference is tiny. 128mm destroyer AP has a 21mm fuse, it's best used for penetrating superstructure and hull plating. Try spamming AP agasint broadside battleship superstructure at 10km. Larger, slower reloading KM guns are harder to use. They can be very frustrating, especially on the Hipper but 128mm KM DD AP is sweet

The Under-performance of KM Armor Piercing

The destroyers are fine. Look at those wonderful damage figures when the shells don't hit belt armour. Always aim for centre mass/superstructure over trying for citadels

Roma - Tier VIII Premium Italian BB suggestion

Edit: Maybe Ferrari is more suitable?

    Thank you for Mutsu, WG.

Does Mutsu have a dodgy armour layout or citadel hitbox like Warspite? You can citadel her with 6" cruisers at wonky angles.

Match Making. Belfast in Rank Battles

There was lot's of salt from the Fiji's and Nagato in chat. Multiple Belfast's without a radar counter or massive 10km torp walls/spam can go anywhere and do anything uncontested.

Match Making. Belfast in Rank Battles

Ranked MM is fair and balanced. (Had a few worse in Akatsuki, 5 Belfast vs a bunch of Yorck and Pepsi etc)

    Royal Navy Tech Tree Proposal

With 1700 HE alpha damage, 12 RPM and ballistics not far off the the SK C/34 (6-11km) they're well balanced per tier. 4 x Mk XII = Shiratsuyu 6 x Mk XII = Błyskawica 8 x Mk XII = Udaloi 10 x Mk XII = Gearing Moving to the 4.7"/50 Mk XI will be a bit like going from Edinburgh to Neptune. Higher arcs but better penetration, dispersion and damage. A specialist in AP deck pens at 8-10km? Can't wait! The 4"/45 guns are excellent, Black Swan is a beast. Here's a revised list of tier 6-8 RN, Commonwealth and Polish destroyers with a few extra details.
  11. Ocean epicentre would be very interesting for 7v7 ranked match. Each team would need to be keep moving with no islands for protection agasint torpedoes/smoke cooldown.

    Royal Navy Tech Tree Proposal

Oh nice. Leave both options in like the T9/10 German battleships. Black could be a good pointer, like Flint was for RN CLs.

    Damaged Radar and Hydro Modules?

    Great idea.
  16. creamgravy

The New Modules - Testing and Super Containers?

The idea is to create large walls/corridors for your team to move through, mainly for island hopping etc. You loose 15 seconds for 3-4 extra puffs at tier 7-8. Not a huge loss. Is it worth it? Who knows... Maybe you'll see me in ranked creating massive smoke walls with my Sims

    Mahan or Akatsuki?

Yep. All tier 7 destroyers are fantastic but Akatsuki could be the best agasint Belfast infested meta. High speed to get into/out of flanks and out of radar range. Shiratsuyu and Mahan get punished when caught out by radar, they just can't turn away fast enough. All destroyers have a 8.5km detection agasint Belfast. Fast reloading 10km torpedoes to overwhelm hydro cooldown. Belfast/Fiji have 18.5 seconds to react to Shiratsuyu torp walls with sonar, more than enough for a good player to get clear. Akatsuki can fire 3x3 type 8 torpedoes every 55-60 seconds with captain skills. (Akatsuki = 38 type 8 torpedoes in 240 seconds, Shiratsuyu = 37 type 90 torps in 240s with TWO consumable activations) Full IJN 2x3 gun layout. 4 guns at the rear combined with high speed means you can kite like a boss, set fires and brawl with other destroyers. Leberecht Maass has also been surprisingly good.

The New Modules - Testing and Super Containers?

I think they're a great addition to the game. More need to be in Slot 1, 3 and 4. The rest are jammed packed with all the good stuff. These are the only two I've tested. Engine boost Modification 1. It's OK as the only slot 3 equipment, trying it on Shiratsuyu at the moment and meh it's fine. Smoke Generator modification 1. Awesome, Perth can spend over 2 minutes in sneaky smoke now! A high tier US DD with this equipped would also be great at setting huge corridors. Fun. Getting them in Supercontainers? No thanks, only if you can sell them for 2-4 million credits.
  19. Here's my old test for different RN CL 152mm ammo types. http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/73741-ranked-will-be-dominated-by-these-two-ships/page__st__100__pid__1637293#entry1637293

    Tier X Soviet Destroyer Grozovoi

    You've been able to do that with high tier US destroyers since release, although Grozovoi gets full on late 1950s AA. Akizuki = 220 dps @ 7.2km (would be 660 with defensive fire) Sims/Benson = 336 dps @ 7.2km Gearing = 445 dps @ 7.2km Fletcher = 525 dps @ 7.2km Neptune = 620 dps @ 7.2-8.6km (would be over 3000 with defensive fire!) Minotaur = 660 dps @ 7.2-8.6km Grozovoi = 828 dps @ 7.5km
  23. That's always been the case with tech tree RN CLs, they trade spiky DOT RNG for consistency. It's a big loss for team battles (coordinated HE spam looks devastating) but less important for chaotic random/ranked. With IFHE and DE you can have both. Fiji gets better smoke with 0.6.1. You can activate it at 26 knots for a nice big bloom. Belfast still needs 20 knots for guaranteed concealment.

Equalise "tech level" of T5 cruisers?

Emerald is fine at tier 5, you don't get torpedo power like that until Neptune. Arethusa only has a 57mm belt, beginners will get punished even harder. Swap them around when the second RN CL line comes. Tier 5 Arethusa = Smoke, sAP and 3x2 6km torpedoes. Small and squishy but stealthy. Tier 5 Emerald = HE, 4x4 10km torpedoes. Squishy but a tier 5 Kit Kat.
  25. I tested out the different RN CL 152mm ammo types agasint a heavily angled Gneisenau a while back. Scenario. How much damage would they do at 8.3km over 60 seconds? Results. Conclusion.
